BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- An Iranian diplomat in Baghdad has been
shot and killed, Iranian Embassy officials said Thursday, a day
after Iran said the United States had requested Iranian help to
defuse Iraqi violence.
The embassy said the diplomat was Khalil Naimi, first deputy of
the Iranian Embassy in Iraq.
