[12:18 USD/CHF: Consolidating Recent Gains, Cross Steady] New York, April 29:
Traders are becoming more comfortable with the idea of rallying global markets
and hope for the Dollar to follow suit. The pair has been boosted by another
round of cross buying taking the former above stops at 1.3750 and leading some
to conclude that the rally is now sustainable. The SNB is unlikely to raise
rates anytime soon, so the CHF should continue to weaken. There are two new CHF
issues to support the currency totaling CHF300 mln, a Euro Hypo 3-year yielding
1.25% and a Sigma 2 year yielding 0.82%. Traders see the pivotal trendline
resistance at 1.3755 providing some resistance, but a rally toward 1.3880 is
seen ahead. Support now at 1.3685/90.
EUR/CHF has been consolidating the recent gains, but still remains below the
recent highs near 1.5100. The Swiss led buying has triggered stops pegged just
above 1.5080. The only problem now is that EU growth prospects continue to
languish and limit the speed of the cross rise. Look for the bids to continue
to rise, with some now at 1.5040 and again at 1.5020. [email protected]/jc

[12:29 USD/JPY: Model Funds Pushed The Dollar Higher] London, April 29: U.S
model funds bought USD/JPY in the high 119.20"s, which pushed the dollar to a
session high of 120.40. Offers are rumored at 120.50 - 120.60 and dealers expect
this level to present some resistance in the short-term. Also strong technical
resistance is seen at 120.60, which represents 61.8% of 121.15 - 119.65.

[12:54 EUR/USD Weighed Down By Spec Longs] Boston, April 29: Dealers report the
market is weighed down by sizeable spec longs taken in the last day or so above
1.1025 gunning for fresh highs above 1.1085. The ability of the market to absorb
a bad figure like the jump in the ECI (on rising medical expenses) has a few of
those longs nervous and setting stops below 1.0950. Knockouts are being
protected at 1.0950 as we write, but a break could see 1.0875 come under
pressure fairly quickly. US equities are holding mild gains in futures trade
ahead of the cash market opening, while spec buying of EUR/JPY is helping
underpin EUR/USD, but a failure to take out 132.05 in the cross soon could see
EUR/USD come under pressure from the cross as well. Large 1.10 expiries are seen

[13:11 USD/CHF: Remaining Buoyant, Bids Now Raised to 1.3700/10] New York, April
29: The trendline resistance at 1.3755/60 continues to repel buyers today and
traders suggest that a corrective drop to waiting bids at 1.3700/10 would not be
any surprise. Traders are somewhat hesitant to make fresh buys since recent
failures below 1.3800 have capped the rises. Harsh words from North Korea and
fresh violence in Iraq combine to limit CHF weakness. US stocks are set for
further gains, but expect USD/CHF to make another drift first.
EUR/CHF is marking time near 1.5060 and needs to get outside the recent
1.5000/1.5100 range for any momentum induced trading to come about. GBP/CHF
offers near 2.1880/2.1900 look to be capping gains in this cross and there looks
to be a solid cap in place before further gains are made. --

[12:38 EUR/JPY: Asian Buying Supports The Lows] San Francisco, April 29: Asian
names are seen providing support on EUR/JPY this morning at 131.80 after the
failure again yesterday to breach 133.00 helped trigger a correction lower.
Buyers still to 131.50 are expected with orders left last week from Japanese
names looking to buy the cross on the dips. This has stalled a move lower in
EUR/USD though stops under 1.0950 down to 1.0940 are still seen and could
pressure EUR/JPY lower. EUR/JPY trades at 131.94 currently.
The absence however of most Japanese investors due to Golden Week has
significantly depleted the amount of fresh outward fund investment needed to
support the cross and is expected to weigh over coming sessions, launching a
steeper correction lower. Key support levels on a deeper correction lie on the
Ichimoku charts at 131.00 & 130.00 though the cross remains well above the cloud
which does not come into play until levels under 128.00.

[13:03 EUR/JPY: French Buyers Seen But Bounce Is Limited] San Francisco, April
29: The bounce on EUR/JPY remains limited so far with 132.00 offering resistance
and further resistance seen at 132.20. The oft seen French names who play this
cross have been buyers on this dip, but risk is still seen to the downside with
traders still expecting a weaker EUR/USD to drag EUR/JPY lower. Support is seen
at 131.70 and 131.50 on a move lower. The fact that EUR/GBP has finally broken
below 0.6905 which provided support all last week, is also weighing on the
