I say then, Did God cast off his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
God did not cast off his people which he foreknew.
Or know ye not what the scripture saith of Elijah? how he pleadeth with God against Israel:Lord, they have killed thy prophets,
they have digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.But what saith the answer of God unto him?
I have left for myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to Baal.
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. What then? that which Israel seeketh for,
that he obtained not; but the election obtained it,
and the rest were hardened: according as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that they should not see,
and ears that they should not hear, unto this very day.
And David saith,Let their table be made a snare, and a trap,And a stumblingblock,
and a　recompense unto them:Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see,
And bow thou down their back always.
I say then, Did they stumble that they might fall? God forbid:
but by their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles,
to provoke them to jealousy.Now if their fall, is the riches of the world,
and their loss the riches of the Gentiles;
how much more their fulness? But I speak to you that are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles,
I glorify my ministry; if by any means I may provoke to jealousy them that are my flesh, and may save some of them.

For if the casting away of them is the reconciling of the world,
what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
And if the firstfruit is holy, so is the lump: and if the root is holy, so are the branches.
But if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive,
wast grafted in among them, and didst become partaker with them of the
root of the fatness of the olive tree; glory not over the branches:
but if thou gloriest, it is not thou that bearest the root, but the root thee.
Thou wilt say then, Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.
Well; by their unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by thy faith.
Be not highminded, but fear:for if God spared not the natural branches,
neither will he spare thee.Behold then the goodness and severity of God:
toward them that fell, severity; but toward thee, God’s goodness, if thou continue in his goodness:
otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. And they also, if they continue not in their unbelief,
shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.
For if thou wast cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and wast grafted
contrary to nature into a good olive tree; how much more shall these,
which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?
For I would not, brethren, have you ignorant of this mystery, lest ye be wise in your own conceits,
that a hardening in part hath befallen Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in;

and so all Israel shall be saved: even as it is written,
There shall come out of Zion the Deliverer;He shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
And this is my covenant unto them,When I shall take away their sins.
As touching the gospel, they are enemies for your sake: but as touching the election,
they are beloved for the fathers’ sake. For the gifts and the calling of God are not repented of.
For as ye in time past were disobedient to God, but now have obtained mercy by their disobedience,
even so have these also now been disobedient,
that by the mercy shown to you they also may now obtain mercy.
For God hath shut up all unto disobedience, that he might have mercy upon all.
O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and the knowledge of
God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past tracing out!
For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?
or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?
For of him, and through him, and unto him, are all things.
To him be the glory for ever. Amen.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service.
And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,
and ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
For I say, through the grace that was given me, to every man that is among you,
not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think as to think soberly,
according as God hath dealt to each man a measure of faith.
For even as we have many members in one body, and all the members have not the same office:
so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and severally members one of another.
And having gifts differing according to the grace that was given to us, whether prophecy,
let us prophesy according to the proportion of our faith;
or ministry, let us give ourselves to our ministry; or he that teacheth, to his teaching;
or he that exhorteth, to his exhorting: he that giveth, let him do it with liberality; he that ruleth,
with diligence; he that showeth mercy, with cheerfulness.
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
In love of the brethren be tenderly affectioned one to another; in honor preferring one another;
in diligence not slothful; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;

rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing stedfastly in prayer;
communicating to the necessities of the saints; given to hospitality.
Bless them that persecute you; bless, and curse not.
Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.
Be of the same mind one toward another.
Set not your mind on high things, but condescend to things
that are lowly. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Render to no man evil for evil. Take thought for things honorable in the sight of all men.
If it be possible, as much as in you lieth, be at peace with all men.
Avenge not yourselves, beloved, but give place unto the wrath of God: for it is written,
Vengeance belongeth unto me; I will recompense, saith the Lord.
But if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him to drink:
for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers: for there is no power but of God;
and the powers that be are ordained of God.
Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God:
and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.
For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil.
And wouldest thou have no fear of the power?
do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:
for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil,
be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God,
an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.
Wherefore ye must needs be in subjection, not only because of the wrath,
but also for conscience’ sake.For this cause ye pay tribute also;
for they are ministers of God’s service, attending continually upon this very thing.
Render to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom;
fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor. Owe no man anything, save to love one another:
for he that loveth his neighbor hath fulfilled the law.
For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal,
Thou shalt not covet, and if there be any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, namely,
Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbor:
love therefore is the fulfilment of the law.And this, knowing the season,
that already it is time for you to awake out of sleep:
for now is salvation nearer to us than when we first believed.
The night is far spent, and the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness,
and let us put on the armor of light. Let us walk becomingly, as in the day;
not in revelling and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

But him that is weak in faith receive ye, yet not for decision of scruples.
One man hath faith to eat all things: but he that is weak eateth herbs.
Let not him that eateth set at nought him that eateth not; and let not him
that eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.
Who art thou that judgest the servant of another? to his own lord he standeth or falleth.
Yea, he shall be made to stand; for the Lord hath power to make him stand.
One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike.
Let each man be fully assured in his own mind.
He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord: and he that eateth, eateth unto the Lord,
for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, unto the Lord he eateth not,
and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and none dieth to himself.
For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; or whether we die, we die unto the Lord:

that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. But thou, why dost thou judge thy brother?
or thou again, why dost thou set at nought thy brother?
for we shall all stand before the judgment-seat of God.
For it is written,As I live, saith the Lord, to me every knee shall bow,
And every tongue shall confess to God.So then each one of us shall give account of himself to God.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more:
but judge ye this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock
in his brother’s way, or an occasion of falling.
I know, and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus, that nothing is unclean of itself:
save that to him who accounteth anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
For if because of meat thy brother is grieved, thou walkest no longer in love.
Destroy not with thy meat him for whom Christ died.
Let not then your good be evil spoken of: for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking,
but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
For he that herein serveth Christ is well-pleasing to God, and approved of men.
So then let us follow after things which make for peace,
and things whereby we may edify one another.
Overthrow not for meat’s sake the work of God.
All things indeed are clean; howbeit it is evil for that
man who eateth with offence.
It is good not to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor to do anything whereby thy brother stumbleth.
The faith which thou hast, have thou to thyself before God.
Happy is he that judgeth not himself in that which he approveth.
But he that doubteth is condemned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith;
and whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

Now we that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak,

but now, having no more any place in these regions,

and having these many years a longing to come unto you,whensoever

Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor among the saints
