I have a question.

Why KOMEITO calls their party "New Komeito"?

well, people in japan do not have any idea about who they are actually supporting. More than 40 percent of the people are swing vote casters who do not have any party idetification.
I guess the reason that Koizumi got supports is that they just wannt consider someone like him as a strong leader instead of a dictator.

Actually, the reason that the Komei Party calls themselves as "New Komeito" is not what #3 said.
It is because the Komei Party was combined to the "Shinshinto", which is "New Progressive Party" that was led by Kozawa.
After that, the members of the Diet who belonged to the Komei Party did not like his leadership and decided to leave the Shinshinto.
And then, they formed the Komei Party again. So, it is called, "New Komei Party". However, in Japanese, they do not use any Japanese term that means "New".

Why Soka-gakkai,a dangerous cult group, can join the Diet?
Komei-Party is actually under Daisaku Ikeda, isn't it?

I wonder why Democratic Party tries so hard to be against LDP on every single issue.
Just by seeing the declining of SDP, that's not necessarily people want them to be.
I think it's okay to agree on LDP's plan, if it seems somewhat right, then they should
discuss in details to make some adjustment.
It seems to me that DP has a big comflict within, by holding members from 2 different streams.
