JAPANESE superstar Shunsuke Nakamura will fly into Scotland on Monday and sign for Celtic Record Sport can reveal Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell met Reggina bosses in Milan late last night for talks and agreed a fee of £2.7million for the midfielder. The player's representatives, who will join Nakamura in Glasgow at the beginning of next week, do not believe there will be any last-minute hitches.
And that should mean the playmaker's move to Parkhead is now just two days away from completion when he will become Gordon Strachan's sixth signing of the summer.
Nakamura is expected to sign a three-year deal with the Glasgow giants and reports in the Japanese Press have revealed his salary would be around £800,000 a year.
Some Celtic fans remain to be convinced by Strachan's signing policy so far but this is one unknown quantity who could go on to become a real hero to those supporters.
Billing The highly-rated Nakamura is a massive name in his homeland, second only to Hidetoshi Nakata - who is thought to be the greatest Japanese footballer of all time.
And Nakamura's move to Celtic could prove to be a benefit to Celtic on two levels.
First of all, if he can live up to his billing then this could well be seen as the most important signing Strachan makes in his first season in Glasgow.
But there is the undeniable bonus that this transfer could help Celtic move into the lucrative Japanese market in terms of shirt sales and other money-raising ventures
''Una delle Societa che puo essere interessata a Mozart e il Palermo, la fantasia non manca mai ai giornalisti, ho letto ad esempio di una cifra astronomica di 5 milioni di euro che sarebbe alla base della possibile cessione di Nakamura al Celtic, e assolutamente da ridimensionare. E' vero comunque che nel dialogo fatto con il Palermo si e affrontato anche il discorso riguardante i calciatori Filippini''. http://www.regginacalcio.com/agenda/dettaglio.php?id=13882
