It follows, then, that actively dealing with a major shock makes possible its understanding and acceptance.

★to know which end of a sword to hold★ は、文字通りに訳すと 「一本の剣の両端のうち、どっちをつかんだらいいかがわかっている」 ということです。 そしてそれを否定文にして "He doesn't know which end of a sword to hold."
He doesn't know which end of a sword to hold.
ttp://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=49917.980;wap2 When Jarl Olaf hired me to train up six raiders to Huskarls, amid embarassed talk of the lads not knowing which end of a sword to hold, I and my Fifty-Lady-Knights-By-Day-Seventy first thought that a hundred and fifty days or so might be giving me a bit of too much rope.
という設問の模範解答が「People spend at least a third of their life sleeping. This means that by the time you are seventy, you will have slept for 20 years」です。
>>974 >>(1) People 【spend】 at least a third of their life sleeping. (2) This means that by the time you are seventy, you 【will have】 slept for 20 years.
This means that, 【if you are already 70 or older, you will have slept for 20 years.】

Local 【residents'】 feelings overwhelmed by stress can now turn to a new style of healing offered by one of the area's most established massage care providers.
>>992 それだとturn to a new style of healingの主語がLocal residents' feelingになっておかしいよ。
[Local residents feeling overwhelmed by stress]=主語 can now turn to a new style of healing [offered by one of the area's most established massage care providers.](a new style of healingを修飾)
