Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, cunning linguists, stupid fan girls of Johnny's Boys, and an electrical super gay who suffers from mental disease And let's hope Igirisu-jin and the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!
This is the place to have a ball!!!!! Let's support recovery efforts in Japan!!!!!!

>>10 You can try to entertain this thread or keep your distance from it so you won't get bored. You don't have to bother to cherish your pet peeve. As someone once said, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.
I was actually! The reason why I managed to post, I think, was due to to the utterly dreadful goingonearth (warning!!!! dont even look it up, simply going to the site will kill your system) rootkit nightmare putting proxies in my connection. It was IMPOSSIBLE to remove it . Never seen anything like it. Had to reformat my laptop. Man what a complete nightmare! Used every anti-malware you can think of. Anyway, after that I could not post. Then suddenly! I got unbanned. I don't know how the banning operation works. I might get kicked out again.
As you know, the current Japanese prime minister Kan is perfectly imcompetent. But, I wanna say loud that why doesn't LDP can't read the current atmosphere in Japan? Namely, LDP suggests irresponsibly that Kan shuould resign right now without showing a person who is good to be substitute. If LDP has the person, I wouldn't say about it badly. But, I don't still see LDP actually shows the person in public. So, LDP must be KY party so to speak.
This is a red herring. I think there are two types of imcompetent person in this world. One is good imcompetent, who knows his incompetence and leave the works he can't do to competent subordinate. But, has responsibility.
While another is bad imcompetent, who doesn't know his incompetence and has the works over his capasity and makes mess in result. What's worse, blame the mess on someone, hold on to the class if he is on top.
In this case, it goes without saying that Kan must be the letter.
But now, it's important to think how to aid to all the victims of that earthquake, not to suggest that. All LDP have to do now is to show the substitute in public. Unless LDP does that, I can't agree with LDP leader, Tanigaki.
>>26 Kan Naoto doesn't have leadership skills, as we know. He's making simple things complicated for keeping his authority. That damn idiot. He should step down and then take back those meaningless policies such as kodomo teate. Help people in the tohoku region instead. I think Democratic Party should change. After that, LDP can do things. Under the current situation, DPJ ignores what LDP says, which is too bad. That's why I agree with Tanigaki.
But, one thing I wanna ask you here. Who is the person good to be the substitute do you think? As I said on >>26, I can agree with Tanigaki if he shows the substitute. I wonder if LDP has the person...
Hi! I would like to ask you a question about Japanese shyness. I was sure that We are shy but somebody said the shyness in Japan is not the same with other country's. It's more like manifestation of Japan.
THis is what he said; What is also is the true meaning of "shy" in each culture. In Western cultures, shy is innate, personality attribute. Usually it is something a person can't control. In Japanese, "shy" is a manifestation of Japanese culture; it is more a culturally-derived attribute, which everyone should follow because it is the "Japanese way." It is something consciously controlled and manipulated by the individual in accordance with social norms and attitudes. Unlike the Western shy person, who is like this uncontrollably and usually isn't even aware of being "shy."
I think we take as an example of figure skating, you'll know our shyness is innate.
The exhibition, Japanese and Asian athletes rarely do the showy performance, while Westerners show the very entertaining performance. It proves Japanese (or Asians) shyness is innate because the exhibition is the moment when the skater should push themselves to the max in fancy or amusing way in order to make audience enjoy the show. But most of the time, their performance is boring or just very humble. It proves that Asian and Japanese just CAN'T do anything fancy..(I mean the performance which requires sense of anti-shyness)
He said that some would say addiction, for Japanese to tell others, like I did.. "shy" Japanese are...It is a source of pride to show how a Japanese individual has adhered to the culture and displayed little outward emotion.
How do you think? I' ve never thought saying "shyness" is some kind of Japanese pride...^^;;
DON'T IGNORE SPARKY!! All he needs is JUST A LITTLE ENCOURAGEMENT to live in this CRAZY world!! Why can't you say you will be there for him? I doubt you are human. You are a demon! A cruel demon.
Good evening. This thread is very interesting for me, but looking difficult. I have been studying English still short time, and not well. Even now I am writing these sentences while consulting a dictionary. Still do you welcome me?
>>49 Speaking as a shy westerner, I am told on a regular basis that I need to "let loose" and "live my life". Many people seem to think that being shy means that you are miserable and don't have any fun. It would be impossible to be unaware that you are shy as a westerner (but it IS uncontrollable).
>>58 Welcome! It's good to have more people. Your English isn't bad. I can understand everything easily. However, there are a couple things I would change in the words you used. If you like, we can help and correct what you say.
>>74 >Does your sleep get divided into two? What do you mean by this?
I don't remember what dream I have during the night, but I remember I kind of groan while sleeping. It's kind of so loud that I sometimes even wake up because of loud groans. I don't know but I think that's because I'm in a tough situation (NEET for quite a long time) and I'm like, "why I ended up being in a situation like this." All I can do is just groan while sleeping.
You sleep a few hours then wake up. Then stay awake until you fall asleep. If you can squeeze in intellectual activity in the waking hours , it is great. Usually 11:00-04:00 o'clock is an amazingly quiet time for some serious brain work. Sleeping patterns and how they impact on mental activity is something I follow closely. The worst wake up time is when you wake up as you enter REM mode.
Dreams are very important. they are a gauge of one's state of mind. If you wake up to your own voice, you must be under extreme stress. It could be that you are suffering from a respiratory block. Breathing is the most essential component. If you can take deep breaths without obstruction it increases your mental stability. Shallow breathing is a sign of anxiety. Instead of worrying about being a NEET, try imagining how you can break free of it. That would set your mind in motion and positive things would happen eventually.
I had a dream last night, but the only thing I remember was that I was trying to light incense. I'm curious about what else I may have dreamed and forgotten.
I keep a dream diary. Maybe when I'm less lazy I'll open it up and find one of the stranger ones to post about.
>>73 In this case, it's similar to the word "to be." You could say, "It's good for there to be more people," and it would mean the same thing. Overall, it just shows my opinion that I like many people to come chat.
>>84 What does incense signify in Japanese life? Is it associated with grief of happiness? I love this dream subject. I want to know what people so far away dream of. I want to know what your wishes are. I guess it is the same everywhere in the world. Peace of mind and personal happiness.
>>95 Even though I understood it, I put ”すごく大きいです” into a translator for fun. It said, "This is Bunyanesque." I guess it's referring to the folk legend Paul Bunyan, who was a giant. But, it's a really strange phrase, and I've never seen it before. I wonder why the translator would say that instead of just, "It's really big." That's what my internal translator gave me.
>>74 My life is a strange dream. I feel like every step I take my feet are slipping a little on the ground but I'm floating so I don't fall. Sometimes I think I'm a ghost, but other people can see me.
I followed him to public toilet and he said "You followed me, but I fuck a man if not gay. Are you OK?" I said "Yes. I like a man such you" and he said "I was glad to hear your saying. I pleasant you enough today"
>>104 Thank you for the answer. Increase my English knowledge as long as I look at this thread.
A question occur to me once more. Can I exchange the above mentioned word "as long as" for word "while"? Though I don't have confidence this express too...
Oh, sorry. I've made a mistake on >>110. i mean No problem.
Anyway, Next Sunday, I will take an EIKEN exam for pre-1grade again. (As you might remember, I took it last year, but I wasn't able to pass it). I have confidence to pass it this time.
Because I've read English newspaper sent every Friday and in every Saturday studied in certain interschool lately.
Well, you might say "That makes you have confidence? ". Haha.
>>108 "As long as" is a phrase that means "only if" That is, "My English knowledge will increase only if I keep looking at this thread." The best phrase I think would be "My English knowledge increases while I follow this thread." Somehow, though, the sentence still sounds weird...
>>112 Hm... Concider overall. I feel best phrase of "My English knowledge is increasing while look at this thread.". But, this question is very difficult to me. I can't think any further.
I feel It is a long way that I will learned English completely.
I have no idea what the woman says at 01:10, who starts from the phrase "Very well...". Only I can hear is "blade of the dark moon" and I don't understand the whole sentense.
>>107 I thought you were banned or something. I think you got tanned nicely and played with the most famous mouse in the world and were bitten by an aligator, too.
Is there a an English translation only version? This is for someone who doesn't read Japanese, and would rather read fluently than skipping the Japanaese pages, otherwise I personally don't mind the bilingual book.
I doubt really correct sentence what percentage of the all response in this thread. Such as >>120, >>119, and any other sentence. I will apologize if in case of my English ability is short.
there are some mysterious followers in twitter. It happened three times. they follow, and then if you don't follow them they un-follow. I think they were bots or got offennded when I did not follow them.
>>123 Ummm, I try to translate their sayings into English.
えー、次の方どうぞ〜(from 8:40 by Nakamaru?(I've forgotten his name)) means "Well, next patient come on please" in English.
Second, せやなー(Seyana〜 10:55) is a Kansai dialect meaning "I see".
Finally, おかしいんちゃうん〜?だって、みんな見てんで〜、自分、自分の歯〜 (Okashiincyaun〜? Datte minna mitende〜 jibun jibun no ha〜) is included Kansai dialect, Jibun(Literally, myself. But, in this case, it means your). So, its translated phrase can be "Are you crazy〜? 'cause everyone is looking at you〜 your teeth〜"
>>127 Thanks Umechi-san, I meant, the section after 8:40, but it is a rather long skit to translate. I understood that Nakamaru was calling for the next customer, who happens to be the vampire, I understand the bit that vampire says that he is aliar, he hurt his teeth. But I don't understand the rest.
Thanks so much for the Kansai dialect explanation!!!!
Two old men were packing their golf bags ready to leave for a round at the golf club when one of them noticed a funeral procession passing by. He paused, straightened his back and removed his hat in a gesture of respect. “That was very good of you, John,” said his partner, “I never realized you were so respectful.” “It’s the least I can do,” said John, “It would have been our fortieth wedding anniversary next Tuesday.”
An amateur football coach was worried that his team was not showing signs of improvement, so he telephoned the manager of the local professional team and asked him the secret of why his side was so good? “That's easy,” said the pro manager, “we practice every day against 11 dustbins.” Two weeks later, the two men met in a pub, and the pro manager asked the coach if the plan had worked. “I’m afraid not,” he replied, “We decided to abandon the idea after the dustbins won 5-0.
>>120 After I did some search on the net, I failed to find an only English version. So maybe the bilingual version is what's only available. It's wierd to think that the book was on the best selling list back in 2006? 7? in Japan and all English speaking people can get is the bilingual version. The publishing company seems to cator to Japanese English learners, judging from the books they publish, hence, bilingual version.
I think I saw the book on the shelve of the English book section of a bookstore I sometimes visit, but unfrotunately I didn't grab it so I don't know it it was a bilingual version or English only version. In this day and age, if There's an English only version, chances are you can find the information about it on the net. The fact i couldn't find it, probably English only version doesn't exist, although I admit I'm not so good at searching....
>>123 >at one point his accent changes 13:18), am I right?
His accent has change to Osaka dialect intentinally already from 09:57 (not from 13:18) and all the way to the end. His line at 9:23 has Osaka accent, too.
>What does "sienaaaa" mean??(10:55).
I would say "seh-ya-nah" means "You are right," "Yes," "I agree" in Osaka (Kansai) dialect. rather than "I see."
PEOPLE HERE WILL SOON RECOGNIZE 陽電子 AS SPARKY!!! WE SHOULD TALK TO HIM EVERYTIME WE SEE HIM HERE!! THAT'LL MAKE HIM HAPPY FOR SURE!! 陽電子 NEEDS TO BE HAPPY!! HE SHOULD BE RELIEVED OF MENTAL PAIN THAT BEING A GAY BRINGS TO HIM! DON'T FORGET TO MENTION WINDOWS ME IS THE BEST!!
>>146>>147 I am making tomato soup for tomorrow. They are organic, with a bit of garlic and olive oil and mint, and some flour to give it a nutty falvour. I would serve it with some rye bread. Would you like some?
>>141 Thank you very much for telling me all this. It is very kind of you to do this search. You are right about the English version. It looks like I need to order the bilingual book from Amazon-Japan. Never done that before. I hope I can handle the transaction. I think the book is interesting judging by the way it angered a lot of people. I am dying to read it and pass it on to the person I am buying it for.
Re: Kame's accent, I think the concert was in Osaka. Now it makes sense. It is so much fun, although I understand only parts of the dialogue, to detect the accent change. I suddenly have some hope of learning the language! Watching such dialogues really motivates me to learn Japanese. Kat-tun probably don't realise that they are acting as the cultural ambassadors of Japan. (Even if you don't like the idea. I beleive this is the case.)
Like earthquakes and tsunamis occur in the same year 869 AD, the population was 1,000 in (currently estimated to 20,000) is the thing that killed it.In one village in which they built a stone monument to tell future generations the lessons of that time,"dangerous environment out there" seems to have a legend. So I rushed to the front of this monument in the earthquake tsunami, villagers I lived on a hill than a monument, a person is likely no damage.Even if you have the full use of the conveniences civilization, the threat of natural human thing to do even Can. Listen to the teachings of our ancestors, and what has to be protected from the naive As a result, think about what will be.
The weather is TERRIBLE here. Cannot decide whetherit is summer or winter. It destroys your sleep cycle! I wanna go back to Venus to get reset. But itis so expensive!
>>151 You area a STAR you know that! Thanks for posting those links here. That is so kind of you! The poeple on this thread are such lovely helpful people! I will read the guides and let you know when the book arrives. If could move on to a new job soon I would have ordered a Kat-Tun calendar too.
>>156 Spa-ki-4 I am sorry to hear that! When mine got stolen I was really upset too. Last week my front lights were stolen. I hope you get a new one soon. Please lock it with two locks next time.
"my bicycle is missing" implies that his boyfriend left him for another gay. Take it this way. His bicycle means a boy. He meant to say he used to ride on that bicycle and he could handle it with ease. Now that it's missing, it dawned on him that a boy is harder to ride than an actual bicycle is. That's why he's depressed. Don't take what Sparky says as it is. Put it in gay perspective. You'll see what's really hidden in the code.
Do you have any idea who stole the bicycle? Who's responsible? You didn't lock the bike when you left or someone lockbashed it? Live strong, Sparky. You can buy a new one, which is far better than an old one. You are a cute gay. So there'll be someone who's interested in you.
Sparky is in depression. Please encourage him, everyone. He can't trust in anyone now. He will lose hope to live at this rate. All we have to do is talk to Sparky. Sparky loves Windows ME. If you praise Win ME, he will be happy to hear that. That's the least we can do.
>>175 The tires on that bike don't match. It looks like a mountain bike rear tire, and a street bike front tire. That's a bit odd. Anyway, it looks like a good bike. I'm sorry yours is missing.
What do you think about Ninpo-cho? 2ch, Japanese a big BBS, implemented the system to settle problem of write restrict. But it's an obstacle when create new thread.
What do you think about Ninpo-cho? 2ch that Japanese a big BBS implemented the system to settle problem of write restrict. But it's an obstacle when create new thread.
Talk to Spargay more!! He's so excited about this attention that he can get over the bicycle!! Help him get rid of the mental pain the fucking USA NAZI brought to him!! Spargay is happiest when people talk to him!! Let him talk a lot about Windows ME and gay fashion!! Exciting!!
>>165 Thank you. I rarely cook by myself because i'm living alone. Everyday i eat the half-discounted lunch sold at the Supermarket. It's not good for my health, is it?
>>189 I agree. You must look after yourself better especially if you have no one with you. Today I bought spinach but I am so tired I could not cook it. I just had the soup from yesterday. Food tastes much better when it is shared. Even if it is the reduced price food you buy from a combi store. I think it is so human to share food.
>>189 Sometimes it is best to buy fresh food in small amounts. Better to eat home cooked food in small amounts than supermarket food. You have to be careful about your health. If you fall ill, it will cost you more to recover.
I heard that in America a gay boy was shot to death just because he was gay. With that in mind, it may be better to lose his bicycle than to lose his life... Sparky should think that way. Your bicycle protected you and you survived, Sparky. Instead of being depressed, it's better for you to appreciate your bicycle.
>>159 You can put it a lot of places. "Now I am depressed," "I now am depressed," "I am now depressed," "I am depressed now." They all work, even if some sound better than others.
陽電子 (youdensi) means "positron". This is a pretty big change for Sparky-kun.
Positron said he was depressed. His name sounds positive, but actually he's in a negative mental state. It's a bad joke. He should name himself Negatron.
I believe Gaytron is used to be called gay because it's the unmovable truth. Why care? He should be proud of being a gay. He has the right to have interest in boys no matter what other people say. Have courage, Gaytron. We're supporting you. ^^
You can see various videos filmed when March 11th earthquake hits and huge Tsunami came. The videos aren't famous ones that you might have seen before because famouse ones were intentionally excluded. But still the videos on the page vividly shows how scary the quake and tsunami is.
Personally I like the top video where he at first hadn't recognized how serious situation he himeself was in looking at Tsunami coming from far away and then gradually he realized how big the tsunami is and got panicked.
After the video, he jumped on a floating boat and floated away to nearby inn and broke the window of the inns at second floor (meaning probably the water hight was as high as the second floor) and got in and go up to the roof top and survived.
Recently Google decided that my "Japanese web page search translations into English" is the work of a robot. It asks me to provide some "captcha" entries and still refuses to return the translated pages.
Because of what their new "decision" I cannot search, for instance, "Kame rumours" and "Kame news" and have it translated to English.
How can I overcome this problem? Any competent hackers?
>>320 Gay marriage should be allowed in U.S. Gay people all around the world will head to America that way and America will again be very energetic. Also Sparky will be happy to have his boyfriend. ^^
>>320 I have no idea why some males prefer males to females, but based on the fact that they really do exist, I don't think I can stop them getting married if they love each other. What if they adopt a child, would one of them play a mother's role? Or he/she is supposed to call both of them daddy?
>>220 Gay marriage is inevitable because it already exists. I'm not sure how many states allow it, but the three that I've lived in do, CT, MA and CA. It's inevitable in other states because most Americans don't like the goverment telling them what they can't do. And Americans that DO like the government telling people what they can't do generally have a soft spot for gay people, anyway.
One day I was working out in a gym in vancouver. Suddenly one guy approached to me and told me that he wanted to work out with me. I had no reason to refuse it, we started to workout together. But he was looking at my working and sometimes touched my arms and shoulder. Then I realized what he had wanted. Finally I had to tell him that I was not a gay. As you know vancouver is chosen as the most comfortable place to live in the world. But at that time I felt seriously uncomfortable. Thanks for reading.
>>232 That's an interesting story. That guy failed. How sad. Sparky would give you an offer you can't refuse. He wouldn't touch you. He would try to let you touch him. That's a smart move on his part, isn't it? Sparky is a smart gay. He know how to disarm people while he has the weapon of ass destruction. So the first thing Sparky would do is talk with you about Windows ME or Hatsune Miku, and make you confortable. Then he would ask you how to use gym stuffs and make you touch his hands while he's staring at your eyes. He can play innocent. After that comes the moment. Oh, Canada is close enough to America. You can fly to meet Sparky. Good luck!
>>232 touching each other is something normal at the workout situation. if you notice his training form is starange ,you would touch him (like his arms and shoulder..) and try to change it. unless you were touched some delicate positions, you should not define him as a gay easily.
>>233 Going to the gym with Sparky sounds like fun. I'm usually not motivated to go to the gym, but I would go if I had a friend to talk to about Windows ME. I'm not sure what you mean by 'the moment' though. Maybe that's when we max out on reps and can add more weight to our squats.
Athletes who are exercising for a long period of time should drink at least 8 to 10 ounces of water every 15 minutes.
An excerpt from a news article today. When I was younger and joined a sport club, I used to be told not to intake water during the practice because it is bad in terms of building up stamina. Turns out, that theory had no scientific background healthwise and was potencially dangerous. We should drink anytime if we need and keep our body replenished especially in the coming season.
>>249 It was/or still is believed in Japan that to strengthen "Konjou こんじょう" is important when it comes to winning sports although American think Enjoying comes first even in competitive sports.
Not to drink water during hard training/practices might be proved to be ridiculous from scientific reasons, but I still think that can strengten your "konjo" and is important to win a game/match. I think after all, what separates winner from loser is how much "konjo" you have, not techniqus ans skills you have. You may say this sounds like Japanese mentality, though.
I have heard when cities are to be burnt if you look back to discribe it you would become a pillar of salt. I took recording papers from the scholar so he had no reason to discribe. When a night comes as I walk carrying heavy papers I slipped and the scholar looked back. I will have to be more careful.
Here is no privacy so I'd like to say personally later.
>>220 I have allowing gay marriage is the best way to break sex discriminations. So, I suggest it should be allowed even in other countries. I'm a straight but I honestly sympathy with all gay guys. I guess in the world all gay guys wanna marry his boyfriend. So, it should be allowed in the other countries.
Ah, I wanna add one thing. In the world, there are many anti-gay people. I wanna ask them this question, "What If you have a lovely son and one day the boy confesses "I'm a gay, I can't really stop loving only men! So, would you mind if I marry my boyfriend?"suddenly, you kill him?"
Unrelated to above my posting, talking about Japanese idol goup, AKB48.
According to today's news about the idol group, on yesterday Atsuko Maeda won the right to sing in front. This video is Atsuko Maeda interviewed after general election to decide person who sings in front. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRZ7s8l1OJM&feature=relmfu
I'm not a AKB48 freak and don't love her. But I'm amazed at this news. Because some fans, or fanboys bought so many their single CDs... I think it's the great benefit to Japan. And I wonder how much money they earn on this time. I've got to concede thier effect to Japan and thank them for contributing to Japanese economy.
>>250 Do you think they must sacrifice their health for "Konjo"? It is really ridiculous! All things based on health. Even though, we have nothing, only if we have health body, we can accomplish all things.
But hey, look at my penis. He is sound to the max but kind of short and looks depressed. I'm not saying being healthy doesn't matter, but how dare you say only if we have bla bla bla bra. Gays like you won't understand how I feel about it anyway. Now I'm just training my dick to conquer the world with it. Just wait and see faggot. I bet you will kneel down to my dick crying like a baby.
Man, since when do you live here in this smelly thead? We've been talking about gays for a long time because some gay appeared here and said "I want to die...because I have a damn stick down here...." and then this thread became like this. DEAL WITH IT
I've been starting to stay in this thread about a month ago. I had been feeling always, this thread has many words that Gay. I don't hope but I got some knowledge about gay. And I think not bad to gay marriage.
But attention, I am not gay!!! I like pretty or beautiful girl. And I love so.
>>262 AKB otaku seems to never hesitate to spend big bucks for their favorite members. They might be a good driving force for the economy, but I want to advice them not to chase reinbows and instead use the money for someone close to them.
>>270 You may not be interested in bsaseball itself but the hitter was one of the best players in Japan and a star player. From this season he went to America, the birthplace of baseball to play on highest level with a big and lucrative contract. Unfortunately, he got injured and now he's in rehabilitation program.
18And Lot said unto them, Oh, not so, my LORD: 19Behold now, thy servant hath found grace in thy sight, and thou hast magnified thy mercy, which thou hast shewed unto me in saving my life; and I cannot escape to the mountain, lest some evil take me, and I die: 20Behold now, this city is near to flee unto, and it is a little one: Oh, let me escape thither, (is it not a little one?) and my soul shall live. 21And he said unto him, See, I have accepted thee concerning this thing also, that I will not overthrow this city, for the which thou hast spoken. 22Haste thee, escape thither; for I cannot do anything till thou be come thither. Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar. 23The sun was risen upon the earth when Lot entered into Zoar. 24Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven; 25And he overthrew those cities, and all the plain, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew upon the ground. 26But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
>>278 Basically, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were full of bad people, so God decided to destroy them. The only problem was that a guy named Lot and his family lived there, and God thought Lot was a pretty cool dude, so he gave him a chance to escape. Lot said, "Thanks for saving me, but I don't want to live in the wilderness. Look, there's a nice town over there. Can I go live there instead?" And God said, "Sure, but it's gonna be pretty crazy when I destroy Sodom and Gomorah, so don't look or you'll turn into salt." So Lot took his wife and ran to Zoar (That's the name of the small town) and he followed directions and didn't look back. And while they were running, God pretty much blew the shit out of Sodom and Gomorrah, with fire falling from the sky and all sorts of crazy stuff, and killed everyone. But Lot's wife got curious, and looked back at the destruction, and she turned into salt. Just like God said.
I think the moral of the story is that you can't trust women, because they ruin everything. (I'm joking)
Is there a description in your bible why the city didn't have enough of good people. Had they gone elsewhere, or had they just changed, then why. Anyway it is God who sees the fate of the city.
>>283 Two angels came to visit Sodom for whatever reason, and Lot took care of them. For some reason, that night all the men of he city showed up at Lot's house and demanded for him to give the visitors to them so they could all have sex together. I guess they didn't realize it was angels. That's what made God angry, but he liked Lot because Lot told everyone to buzz off.
I see good people could just make mistakes. I'm sure my tutor of old days was a good person. He had some of Asperger traits. We had good times when we are in a perfectly protected place, where no need of important decisions. Later he became a principal of a private school where he needed fatal decisions for teachers and students. In several years somehow he and his teachers lost their healths. He was intelligent and careful so I couldn't believe his decisions itself were wrong. The school closed its doors. Maybe something like that could happen in any cities.

>>269 Yeah, Agreed. When we think back the legendary actor, Yon-sama's great fuss back in around 2004, a lot of middle aged women had spent so much money towards his events and etc. The AKB's event remind me of those foolish old days. But at least, AKB Otaku is contributing the Japan's economy while Yon-sama's die hard Obasan fans only contributed the economy in Korea.
>>289 I want to go back to Japan somehow, for a long period of time. Teaching would be one way to do it. Several programs exist to bring foreigners to Japan to teach English. They don't have very many requirements, but one thing they all need is a Bachelor's degree. It doesn't matter what subject. It doesn't even seem to matter if you can speak Japanese at all. But you need a degree. Unfortunately, I was pretty lazy in college, and didn't accomplish much. I have a long way to go before I would be able to graduate. I'm not even going to school right now.

>>291 The newspaper one works better when you say it out loud. If you write it, you can see the difference in "red" or "read." But since you say them the same (in this case), if you say the joke out loud, the person doesn't know which one you mean. That's why it's funny. You're supposed to assume it's "red" when it's really "read." Therefore, writing it is less effective.

In the middle of the night, Naomi was on her way home and came to an intersection. She wanted to get home as soon as possible because it was unbearably cold day and on top of that it started raining. However, she came to a halt there. Not a soul was to be seen. No car was coming. In spite of it all, she hesitated to cross the road. Why? That was only because traffic light turned red.
Question 1 : Why did she stop walking although she wanted to go home soon?
Question 2 : Would you cross the road if you were Naomi? Why or why not?
>>447 In the US, it creeps me out when people refuse to jaywalk. It's putting your trust in a machine rather than your own ability to judge whether you will get in the way of a car or not. So, yes, I would cross the road, and I would probably do a little dance in the rain as I crossed.

Juice is healthy, I have a juice maker and make carrot juice sometimes. The best thing to do is to go to an orchard arme dwith a juice maker and juice fresh organic fruits and vegetables. I can assure you it will boost your health and you will glow (not in the dark, but I mean look healthy).
>>480 Thank you for reply That's cooooooool I want to come UK and enjoy fleshly fruits juice By the way is "juice" wrong word? How called flesh fruits juice in UK or US
If I had my own space I would make lots of juices for you! Yes "juice" is the right word, but using it as "fruit juice" sounds better, since "juice" is used as slang/colloquial even jargon terms. But please check with a native speaker. If you say "flesh" it would mean "human/animal tissue " or "meat" ratherthan refreshing; I think you mean the word "fresh" perhaps. Japanese people are sooo cute when they replace "r" with "l" it kills me...
Hello again. Nanashi has arrived to share his thoughts. Ichitaro is a word processing package. Something where fruits and things are mixed together into a juice is called a "smoothie". You can find smoothie shops in airports and malls. Less often, there will be shops that sell freshly-squeezed juice. "Dave" comes from "David", "John" usually comes from "Johnathan", "Tom" comes from "Thomas". They are simply shorter names, and many people prefer them over their full name. Often only their parents will call them by their full name. Nanashi, away!
Nanashi thanks for clarifying. I prefer fruit juice to smoothie because they add milk products to smoothies. I really love the sharp, refreshing flavours of fruits.
>>491 Girls can to. Like "Jenn" for "Jennifer" or "Pat" for "Patricia".
And yea, about smoothies, they do have more things in them. Usually ice and often also milk or cream. But it varies a lot. Smoothies got their name because they are thicker then juice.
I think Moe for girls means feel ero at least I think Moe for animals means feel relax I think Moe for foreigner means as if you were their parents because you feel CUTE for their spell miss or grammer miss
So the regular NEET native Japanese English translator/linguist here, is he on twitter? I would like to keep in touch if he doesn't mind. Sorry for being so direct because I am not Japanese !

I am not UK born! Therefore I am allowed to love people who make moe spelling mistakes. I love moe accents too. But the r-l replacement is really really cute! It makes me want to just hug my Japanese friends when they speak English like that.
i heard a episode like that: a japanese businessman is discussing at a meeting abroad. but he cant distinguish r and l pronunciation so he said "election" but others take it "erection" and were compelled to laugh at.
I will tell other Kame fans what you think. So you really think Kame is a girl. My goodness. Some people tried some photoshop manipulations to really make him look like one.

Is Koshi Inaba's English good or not? His wikipedia page says that he can talk with American staff members without translaters. Moreover when he starts to write lyric, he makes it English in the first place and he changes it in Japanese later.

Mr. Peterson went to Spain on a business trip one day and left his precious pet cat with his wife. A telegram was awaiting him when he checked into the hotel, and opening it up, he read, “The cat’s dead!” On arrival back in England, he angrily told his wife that she should never give bad news so directly, as the news of the cat’s death had completely spoiled his concentration on work. “You should have said something like, ‘The cat’s up on the roof and won’t come down,’” he told her, “That would have prepared me gently for the bad news when I got home.” Two weeks later, Mr. Peterson went to Paris on business. A telegram was awaiting him when he checked into the hotel, and opening it up, he read, “Your mother’s up on the roof and won’t come down.”
Peter’s wife was out shopping one day when she saw an adorable little puppy in a pet shop window. Not being able to resist the temptation, she purchased the dog and took it home. As she entered the house, Peter looked up from his newspaper and asked, “What are you doing with that fat gorilla?” “It’s not a gorilla,” said his wife in surprise, “It’s a puppy”. “Shut up,” said Peter, “I'm talking to the puppy.”
>>600 kame isn't in the movie, which was released in 2006, and it isn't a major movie (I mean, it wasn't such a blockbustar as far as I know) so I wonder why you got to know it in the first place. Anyway, I'll tell you what I know and what I found after some reaserch.
In the video you linked in 600, you can listen to three songs. The title of the first song is "happiness" by Hideaki Tokunaga. He's a solo singer with long carrer and he acts in the movie. You can see him in a white T-shirt walking with a woman at night in the next scene. In another scene, he plays a role of a doctor. He, singing "happiness." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mdx3uj9LgkQ This song is his 39th single.
The title of the song that starts around 3:09 in the video linked in >>600 is "時代" (Jidai)." The title is roughly translated like, "Times, Period of time, old days, Time goes around" and thing like that. The song is sung by Hideaki Tokunaga in the video but actually it's not his original song. He covers it. The original is sung by "Miyuki Nakajima," who has longer carrer than Tokunaga and she is one of the most famous female singer song writer in Japan.
The film was released in 2006 but about one year before that, he had released a cover album titled "Vocalist" where he covered various female singers. "Jidai" is one of the songs he covered in the album. The album "Vocalist" was so popular, he released "Vocalist 2," "Vocalist 3," and "Vocalist 4," meaning 4 cover albums in total in 5 years. The concept of the cover albums is he covers only female singers. His a little bit husky, delicate, sensitive and emotional voice matches covering famale singers and the 4 cover albums were on top album charts. It's not that he releases only cover albums. He has sold many original albums and singles over the course of his carrer.
The title of the last songs that starts from around 10:16 is "いい日旅立ち" ("Iihi-tabidachi" いいひたびだち) Iihi=nice day and tabidachi=departure. I'm not sure but maybe roughly translated as "a nice day for departure" or something like that. The song in the movie is sung by Akina Nakamori but it's not her original. The original is sung by Momoe Yamaguchi, who was extremely popular idol singer 30 or so years ago and had ritered from show business because of marrying to an actor. Your heroine Kyonkyon's debut is two years after Momoe yamaguchi's retire.
Akina Nakamori debuted the same year as Kyonkyon. They were neck and neck in their popularity although (sorry to say this but) Akina Nakamori sings much better . Akina Nakamori has been single and sometimes had gone through some problems in her private life. (Drinking too much and eating disorder and such as far as I know)
Nakamori Akina's "いい日旅立ち" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bohgrcva4W8 The woman in the video is herself. This cover song is included in her cover album released in 2007.
Tokunaga Hideaki's version of "いい日旅立ち" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wlo5a3ubqs0 "いい日旅立ち" covered by him is in "Vocalist 2." You can tell how the original song is popular being covered such big artists. Similar to "Jidai" (time goes around), almost all Japanese in every generation have heard of the song somewhere at least once.
If you're thinking about buying the soundtrack of this movie, be careful. For some reason, "happiness" and "いい日旅立ち" ("Iihi-tabidachi") aren't in the soundtrack album, while "時代" (Jidai)" is included. It's rediculous to think that these two songs were used in the movie but not included in the soundtrack.
The list of the songs in the soundtrack can bee seen on the amazon page I pasted but I paste here, too.
1. Sand Train 2. Yuka’s Lonely 3. Hanako’s Theme 4. Happy-go-lucky 5. Kazamachi’s Theme 6. Wakabayashi’s Theme 7. City in the dark 8. Yuka’s Theme 9. 駅(旅の贈りもの インストゥルメンタルヴァージョン) 10. Loneliness and tenderness 11. Hanako’s Lonely 12. Happy-go-lucky(ガットギターヴァージョン) 13. 時代
Maybe ---'s theme like 3,5,6,8 can be "happiness" or "いい日旅立ち" ("Iihi-tabidachi")? I doubt that.
>he released "Vocalist 2," "Vocalist 3," and "Vocalist 4," meaning 4 cover albums in total in 5 years.
It doesn't mean Vocalist 2,3,4,5 were released after five years had passed since Vocalist 1's release. Each of them were released with some interval with each other during 5 year period. That's what I meant.
Spelled "Ihihi-Tabidachi" by a person who put up the video. Maybe this spelling is right... The original was released in 1978 as a Momoe Yamaguchi's 24th single.

>>618, >>619, >>620, >>624 This is why I love Japanese people and Japan. They go out of their way when someone requests something from them. You have been so kind to do all this research! I wish I could return this favour to you. Perhaps if and when you visit the UK I could. All I can do is thank you now but please tell me if there is anything I can do for you. Any information you could not get hold of for instance.
The film was very moving, the scenery beautiful and the music DEVINE. Actually it is the sort of genre of films I used to watch a lot in the past, I watch less of it these days. I don't watch blockbuster films because my mindset is very different. I only go to the Arts Cinema house in the town I live. So you can say the films I watch are not that popular and have a cult-like feel. The small town and their elders reminded me of my own although it is a completely different culture. It brought tears to my eyes. Maybe I should make a list of such films because I cannot remember them by name. I have to dash now but I will save your research in a document and study it throughly. study it thoroughly when I return. Thanks very much again!

>>627 Your welcome. It's good to know you like the report. Enjoy the music videos there whenever you like. These singers are really good and the songs are emotional and touching. I bet you'd impress Japanese people if you sing one of them in Karaoke in the future. Movies without explosions, murders and CG is good.
>>631 Not really. I think I completely understand >>628, but I have still lot to learn.
>>627 Just to be clear, "happiness" by Hideaki Tokunaga is far less widely known than the other two in the video you pasted. To be honset, his prime time is over and actually it's his 39th single as I said. The majority of his fans are in their 30's and 40's and the age group don't buy Music, especially a single CD, anymore so that led to lower sales of it than when he was younger. But still he has name value and everybody recognizes him as a good singer, so the series of the "Vocalist" albums sold much.
>>502 I don't know who you're talking about but if you're asking me, yes I do. But I haven't tweeted to anyone. All I do is read tweets whose accoung I place in my browser's bookmark instead of using the follow function of Twitter.

Do native speakers commonly say the expression above? I read it originates from 1950's or so CBS radio quiz show. 64 dollars was the highest prize money for the quiz show. I was wondering if it is commonly used.
I'm having a hard time navigating this site. My first time here and it seems I can't post a thread yet. I need some advice on something important. My japanese gf will be getting sold into marriage by her dad.
Is selling your daughter's virginity and hand in marriage illegal if it is against her wishes?
This is very important because my girlfriend's dad just forced her to go on a plane with him to Germany to marry a 47-year-old guy in exchange for a large sum of money.
LET'S TALK ABOUT SPARKY!! AS YOU KNOW, HE'S CONSIDERED GAY AND I CAN'T SAY THAT'S WRONG, BUT I STARTED TO THINK HE'S BORN JUST WRONG, HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN BORN A GIRL. SPARKY HAS A GIRL MENTALITY, WHICH MAKES HIM SUPERFICIALLY GAY, THOUGH HE'S ACTUALLY A GIRL INSIDE. HE LOVES TO WEAR A PINK SKIRT BECAUSE HE'S A GIRL. SPARKY LOVES BOYS BECAUSE HE'S A GIRL INSIDE. SO IT MAY BE WRONG TO CALL HIM GAY. WE SHOULD CALL HIM A LADY BOY INSTEAD. WHAT DO YOU THINK?
>>669 I've just been ignoring everything you post for a while now. I think I'd rather have the Korean guys back. At least they weren't attacking anyone specifically.
(the ice creams didn't get frozen well enough...Why?)
@5:54 The truth is, the korean team kept the fridge open longer than they needed. @6:10 We don't want to lose to "Japan" by all means. (laugh) @6:20 You have left open the fridge on purpose. If you don't close it properly, then we will take that as obstruction against Japan. Do it again and we'll cut down your points.
@13:24 A : What was it like when the Korean team obstructed you? Did you think you would lose? B : Well. uh, it was an international competition. Things like that happen. We encouraged ourselves. C : That strengthened our team bond. D : That's great! (standing ovation)
>>560 I beg your help. I need to learn English. I have to express gratitude for a foreign writer. I can't believe that I would make you happy. And please don't forget that if you are not happy, I won't be happy. If anything troubles you, please forget.
>>675 I like the OS-tan characters. I don't think I've paid attention for Win7 though. Is she always in a bathing suit? It doesn't seem like that would give much opportunity to customize her based on things about Win7.

>>680 No, no... What I meant was that the Korean guy who used to promote Korean's supriority again and again and the guy who post Sparky thing over and over are the same person.
>>685 I know Sparky's not a troll. I'm talking about >>676 kind of post. A person who posted 676 claim people should pay more attention to Sparky but in fact his purpose is just look down on his sexuality and all that again and again.
>Was the Korean guy's name Kimmichi or Corea??
He didn't use a Handle name. Maybe pifferent person.
I don't care if Sparky is gay. We know he wants everyone to see his stuff. He insists he uploaded a photo of him, but I doubt it. That's what I think is a troll.
Anyway, I suspect Sparky pretends to attack Sparky himself, and then try to catch attention. He's smart. He plays an impostor and keeps this thread under his influence. We are all tricked in a sense.

His posts are timely. When we talk about something else than Sparky, he says we should talk to Sparky and then Sparky grinned. Why? I believe Sparky is an attention whore. We are trolled easily, well, like this. lol
Okay okay, you guys got me. I may as well explain my plans now that I've failed....
I would, in phase one, garner up support under the guise of "Sparky4". I would infiltrate many internet forums with multiple identities. My main identity, Sparky4, would be used encourage people to switch to outdated technologies, such as Windows ME (this is important later). The reason for me using multiple identities was to set up an environment hostile to those who'd be against sparky4, encouraging a "herd mentality". Sparky4 would be none less than a god in these communities.
In phase two, beginning when the world's critical technological infrastructural has been switched to Windows ME and the first version of the Linux kernel (and Mac OS 9, of course). I would write a virus made to take advantage of Windows ME's vulnerabilities. I would then release this virus, putting me in front of the giant red button, the giant red button that controls the lives of many... I'd control the nuclear arms of every country, the water supply, hell, I could fly the International Space Station into the moon at that point...
>>703 While my main intentions were the meaning of Puella Magi Madoka Magica's ending, I had a few other things I wished to accomplish...
Using my control of the world's water systems and the scientist's knowledge, I would place a formula into Earth's available drinking water; this formula would turn every living person into pretty schoolgirls. The Africans, The Americans, The Asians, The Europeans, all of them. It would become law in my new world that everybody must wear Japanese schoolgirl uniforms. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlmmShEkJ9c would become the world's anthem.
All of the world's pain and suffering would be erased as we instead talk about guys and play with our cellphones.
I have very little time. I saved the いい日旅立ち info and will come back on it. Thanks again.
>>636 Follow me too? even if it is in your bookmark only. I like to be followed, I even got a brand new ameba blog! Alas I have no time!
>>707 How do the styles/content etc have any correlation between these persons is beyon dme. If you follow me and jook on twitter you can tell we are completely different persons. Spa-ki-4-san is a mystery to me, he is the centre of attention but hardly says anything about himself.
I had only 4 hrs of sleep. The weather is schizophrenic. I have so much to do. Is it all right? No. I want someone to cook and care for me. Instead I will have a cup of coffee.
>>715 I've been in this thread for 3 or more years and I can assure you that the three people are different persons.
I don't know if it's OK to tell you but Sparky said before that he has Asperger syndrome or ADHD or something like that. So as you can see, it's hard to communicate with him even in an Internet forum. His communication style here (and maybe in other forums) is almost always one way and he can't communicate well with people. You can't even tell if he understands every post.
That's why I used to describe him jokingly like this: Sometimes it's easier to communicate with cats and dogs than Sparky. I'm not being mean to him. Let me tell you I've never spoken ill of him or abused him in this thread. I'm just saying a fact.
>>719 God, I have an idea to make your dream come true. Do you think you can photoshop you and change yourself like a schoolgirl on Windows ME? Isn't it an easy way to achieve your goal? Please update it when it's done.
God, I have already started to use win7 and I don't think I will use Windows ME, which I have never used before. What are you going to do with people like me? Old software is supposed to disappear, isn't it? How can you get it back now? Anyway, I hope you can make a good doctor or doctors change you into a pretty schoolgirl. It might be a good idea for you to go to Thailand and participate in the world lady boy competition, God, after you become a girl, of course.
>>555 I wondered why you quoted the song. One might see birds in the sky and sings how free they are. I think that is the beauty of the song. It must be the work of a writer who believed it from the bottom of his heart. I think it is their trust for the writer. With a random bird in pawn. I still don't know what it particularly means though.
>>740 I have no idea, God. Is it a new language you invented for those who will move to the new world? How can I digitally decode it? Does gay have something to do with the code?
God, did you watch the TV talk show yesterday? I didn't watch the whole of it, but Aya Hirano visited NYC, paid a visit to Forbidden Planet, and talked with a cashier who asked her to wait till his friends came to meet her. She said OK and then had an autograph session. And blah blah blah... Have you ever been to NYC, God?
>>745 The man you call God has been confined in the dreary land of Louisiana. He's been watched by agents from the cyberspace who know he's been trying to become the God of a new world that's free from discrimination against gay people and that he'd force scientists to create a way of turning men into pretty schoolgirls.
Btw Aya Hirano is crazy. She has mental illness or something. She suddenly started crying in a Taxi. called driver a stalker. loudly said "stop the car, stop the car". and She called police with her cell phone.
A short time ago, I've finished watching the movie, Super8. Below is my opinion about it.
Super8 is SF movie. So, alien appears in this movie. However, I do can't understand this movie in some points. Because the communication with the alien in this movie is so bothed. And I wonder why the elien doesn't kill the hero although a sheriff and a woman having curuls on her head are killed by him(I don't know which sex of the elien). The hero doesn't also no connection with him like the sheriff and the woman. So, I wonder.
In addition, the army destories too much around the town. Why? They don't wanna MAKE THE FACT about the ELIEN PUBLIC right?
So, I don't think this movie is not nice. But, I mean all is not interesting. Zombie movie produced by the hero and his friends with endroll is funny.
>>748 Do you often go around saying ”好きです” to random strangers online? "I love you" is almost always used in a romantic context. Sometimes for a very close friend, but not often. Family is okay too, I suppose.

Man: Doctor, doctor, people keep ignoring me. Doctor: Next, please!
Man: Doctor, doctor, my son has swallowed my pen, what should I do? Doctor: Use a pencil
Man: Doctor, doctor, it hurts whenever I press any part of my body with my finger. What do you think the trouble is? Doctor: You have a broken finger.
Man: Doctor, doctor, I have a terrible pain in my left leg. Doctor: Don’t worry, it’s only old age. Man: It can’t be. My right leg’s the same age, and that doesn’t hurt.
An artist asked the gallery owner if there had been any interest in his paintings on display at that time. "I have good news and bad news," the owner replied. "The good news is that a gentleman enquired about your work and wondered if it would appreciate in value after your death. When I told him it would, he bought all 15 of your paintings." "That's wonderful," the artist exclaimed. "What's the bad news?" "The customer was your doctor..."
Temperatures hit 28 degrees outside... Such a hot British summer day. I have no time to enjoy it, so much work to do! I have two options: (a) Clone myself (b) Drink more coffee.

>>792 I'm currently watching Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, K-On, and Yu-yu Hakusho. Cowboy Bebop has the best soundtrack of any anime ever. Possibly of any non-anime, too.
>>794 OMG I've never seen or heard of Cowboy Bebop!!! I gotta check it out!!! By the way, what site do you guys watch those animes on? This is the only site that I know I can watch for free. http://www.animeultima.tv/code-geass-episode-1/
>>793 Sparky, I have two questions for you. 1 Can you read those Japanese comments? 2 Do you usually post comments for videos? If so, write in English or Japanese? I'm very curious.
Vivi, how have you never heard of Cowboy Bebop? It is one of the defining anime of its generation. とにかく、ヴィヴィさんは日本語が出来ますか? それで、日本人でしょうか?日本に住んでいるみたいですね。 アニメオタクなら、どのアニメはヴィヴィさんが一番好きですか? Sorry this wasn't completely English.
>>798 Up until a year ago I was not a type of person to watch anime. So I only know those anime coming out in recent years. My favorite anime, if I had to say, would be Code Geass. It's the first anime ever that made me watch 2 days straight without sleeping. I am Japanese...I guess. What is your favorite anime nanashi?
>>799 Ho ho, an actual Japanese anime fan? I couldn't tell if you were Japanese or not from your English. Anyway my favourite... I quite enjoyed Gurren Lagann and would highly recommend it. Sorry for my bad Japanese by the way. Glad to see you could read it.
>>800 Holy crap I just watched the trailer for Gurren Lagann and it's already got me hooked. :D You don't have to say sorry nanashi, your written Japanese is excellent.
>>775 Please don't ask them that question. It won't make them happy. I think they needed real daughters to discuss with about animes they are talking about. Hasty people. I'm sorry I shouldn't have disturbed their job. I believe they will keep capturing animes artistically.
I couldn't watch Gurren Lagann, I watched a few episodes of Code Geass. I was able to watch Blassreiter or say Gantz with much more enthusiasm. The anime I watch has to have an adult element or better still, cyberpunk slant to it.

Kamenashi-san, I hereby declare that I would be more than happy to hug you anytime. I hope you don't mind. I don't care if I have a total cardiac arrest in the process.

KG2ch, your fan forever.
PS: I hope you won't be intimidated by my height. Your petite looks really make my heart skip a beat, etc etc...
>>809 Hi Vivi. Why are you surprised? Are women not supposed to surf to the dark corners of 2ch? I sincerely want to understand what makes you say that.
>>811 I understand your concern. However as jook says, they are everywhere.
>>814 Well the internet is accessible to a significant part of the world's population.
Using the same argument women should fear posting on blogs, twitter, whatever, just because there are perverts out there. But then again, thank you for worrying about my safety.
>>808 I feel sorry for TV personalities who would have to worry about words in internets. Anonymous forums are always like that. When internats became popular TV shows became less charismatic. I will be interesting the way they would keep it charismatic as it was.
Even I admit that I assume everyone on the internet is male unless they specify otherwise. Because statistically, it is more likely that they are (depending on the site of course). The 東電%, if I recall correctly, is the % of Tepco's electrical capacity being used at the time of my post. Anyway watch Gurren Lagann, it gets much much better as it goes. And it starts off good too. I always download anime for high-quality. For airing ones I use http://www.animetake.com. Old ones I torrent. Unfortunately it's about the only way to get unlicensed anime in the US.
kame talked in a magazine interview about the merits and demerits of being a celebrity.
demerit: In this business some people take advantage of my name value and popularity, and I often find myself in a situation where I see people's negative side a lot. Even though I recognize these people, I don't get angry. All I think is that "oh well, they are that kind of people and that can't be helped. I just take them as bad examples and try not to become that kind of people myself.
merit: When I went to the disaster struk area for TV show the other day, many people put smiles on their faces when they saw me. Wives there said to me "please hug me," and their husbands also said, "please do so," so I gave some wives hugs and they were very pleased with that. That makes me think that I'm very happy to be in show business. I also thought that no matter how old women are, they still have girls inside. hehe"
He realized his presense as a celebrity when he visited the disaster hit area.
"It's like having both adult aspect and child aspect in you. Along the same line, I consist of 'Me as a person, natural self, real self' and 'Me as a celb." I want to value the both (='Me as a person natural self, real self' and 'Me as a celb.") I came to think that I want to become cool-headed (about what action I take.) For example, even if an action of mine could make a negative impact on "me as a celeb," I don't want to leave out the action."
---------------------------- >"no matter how old women are, they still have girls aspect inside." Some people may think if a woman is married and are in her thirties or forties, they don't care about idols like Kame, but in fact, it turned out that they asked kame to hug them just like a girl dreaming of being hugged by a celeb.
>I don't want to leave out the action. Meaning, if he thinks it's necessary and worthwhile for him to do the action as "me as a person" (not as a cecleb), he might tale the action.
good morning!today is hot!according to the weather report, the rainy season has ended over Kyuusyu. what is worse in this season is that the temparature and humiditv in the train is very high!and i cant stand the smell of men. please take care of it and dont disgust me!

Now, I am playing the Ero-Game. Its name is "愛しい対象(カノジョ)の護り方" (in English, "The way to protect my dear lover", right?), presented by Axl. In this game, all heroines are very pretty and erotic. Let's play it everybody.

Are people in this thread fools? Why are you talking silly things with each other. If you are living in Japan, I think there are other things to talk about, especially the trouble of the nuclear power plant.
I heard that all power companies decided to continue to take a policy to retain power plants from now as well. Why couldn't part of share holders insisting that it should be abolished have their insistence accepted by more than a half people in those meetings?
what the hell if you want to talk about that sort of thing do it by yourself were just doing whatever the fuck we want here why does that mean like were fools or something? who do you think you are man

>>842 Oh, now I know what you mean, but I've still never looked at it before. I don't think I would like that kind of news site. Right now, everything on their main page is either violence or gossip. I guess they know what people want, though. Wikipedia says their paper edition is the 5th most widely circulated newspaper in the country.
While we don't have a system where you skip grade(s) and enter university at the age of 15, 16, 17 etc., America has the system. (To be precise, there are one or two university that accept such studentes here in Japan, too, if my memory serves right, though...) Do you know such people around you? Do they considered intelligent?
I was watching TV show today and found out that Ladygaga entered NY university at the age of 16 or 17 skipping a grade or two. Does that mean she's intelligent? I'd like to know how people recognize entering university earlier than usual.
>>860 I would assume that if someone entered university early then they would have to be more intelligent than the average highschool student. It also would be likely that they are wealthy, since they would pass up free public education (unless they go to a private highschool). You can't necessarily say that someone who got good grades in highschool is still very intelligent when they are in their 30's, however.
>>865 Nah, I just mean that the ability of highschool grades to measure one's intellegence is overrated and that people change a lot over the course of 15/20 years. Nobody cares about what you did in highschool when you're 30, heh.
For those who follow me on youtube and twitter quietly: Drop me a line please! I would love to hear from you. Send me a message, leave a comment, press that follow button. Let's network!
>>868 >depends what you do all these years. Yeah, that's all I meant. When you're taken out of an environment where all you do is learn, you have to put forth extra effort to continue to learn instead of just treading water. That is something I am trying to get through my own dense head.
>>879 Yes they are mostly highly intelligent and some very skilled agoraphobics. I don't see why they shouldn't, unless they have people phobia too. What do you think?
>>878 ehatare you tryingtodo ? Are you coming back to education after a long break?
>>873 The school will allow you to skip grades, I guess. The point was that high school is free, so students learn without having to pay. Even someone who's intelligent enough to skip might still be able to learn something if they stayed. However, if you leave high school and go to university early, you have to start paying, so you miss out on things you might have learned for free in high school.
It looks like the more you use it, the more the texture and color of the wood part gets better. Did your dad make it from scratch or is there "Do it yourself" kind of fountain pen kit or something? It has to be hollow inside so it seems like it takes skills to make it.
>>882 Thank you for the explanation. Now I understand what he meant. I am surprised to know that American public high school is free. In Japan, even if they are public high school, we have to pay tuition although it cost less than private high school.
It's in the middle of rainy season where I live (I heard somewhere the rainy season in Okinawa or Southern part of Kyushu is over.) but today is less hot and humid. Maybe because it rained a lot at night and air is cool now.

It's amazing to watch how just rough pieces of wood turn into well-shaped smooth final product in the video. It would be interesting to make from scratch if I had those tools and machines shown in the video. I remember junior high or high school classes where I used a drilling machine like the one in the video. It was a long time ago but I think I made wooden folding chair or something in the classes.

I wish Maria would sponge all the fortune he has saved.
