Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, cunning linguists and stupid fan girls of Johnny's Boys. And let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!
Haha!!! Now nobody shall know who I am! And mehaps for the sayke of beeing in Masquerade, I shall verily donne a masque of Tongue! I shall confounde thee with mine faux Middle Englisch!
Native English speakers, which of the three below do you think is the best, second best and the thrid best? You don't have to think seriously. Just give me your snap judgement.
A)Company A, who manages this project, has installed 360 plugs with communication function in the building where the company has its office and displays the total energy consumtion volume of the building in the monitor. The report says the project has now entered the third of the four phases of the filed experiment with the infrastructure building proceeding steadily like facaility-specific devises like smartmeters being installed, and that the last phase of the transition from the project level to the expansion into the whole city is just around the corner. The article also says the bridge to "gap between the will and the action" that Company A reiterates has now been built.
B)A has installed plugs with a communication feature developed by Plugwise at 360 different places in the building in the city where A, that runs the project is one of the tenants. You can see the amount of consumed energy are displayed on the monitor. The article reports as follows: They're moving forward steadily with installing smart meters for each facilities and building the infrastructure, and has entered the third phase out of four experimental phases. It won't take long before they'll enter the final phase where they'll get out of the project level and start installing the system in the entire city. The bridge over "the gap between idea and action," which they recognize in the current situation, has been built successfully.
C)Company A, the project’s managing company, has installed 360 pcs. of Plugwise’s plugs with communication function in the office building in a city where it has its office, in order to display the energy consumption of the building on monitors. According to the article, the project has been advancing steadily by installing devices such as smart meters in each facility and maintaining infrastructure, and it is now in the 3rd phase of the total of 4 experimental demonstration phases. The project is said to be nearing to the final phase which will be undertaken in the whole city as the early stages of individual projects are finishing up. The article reported that “the gap beween will and deed”, as what the company A refers, has been bridged. ----------------- Thanks for your cooperation!
C, but only barely. They're all pretty good except for a few scattered errors. The biggest differences are just phrasing. Although whoever wrote those are really good at writing English. Those are not at all simple sentences.
Ejaculation that led to her pregnant happened before getting married, didn't it? I'm sure they made love in a nice atmosphere where Candle Jun set up various candles for them. Gilrs, you envy Hirosue?
>>10 >>11 I suppose I'd rank them B as the best, then C, then A. Note that B has 5 sentences, C has 4, and A has 3. B is easiest to follow because you didn't try to cram too many thoughts into one sentence.
>>16 Wow, that's an insightful feedback. I've never thought about that. Come to think of it, the numbers of setenses can infuence how easy to follow as you say. Thank you very much for your response!
Tenho room still exists even though we haven't played Mahjong at all. I have no idea when the room will vanish. Anyway, there are at least 4 people in this thread who can play Mahjong. Mr.X from US, Nanashi san also from US, イギリス人 san and me.
Is there someone else who want to play or is interested in? Even if you can't have a real time chat, you are welcome.
>>14 Thank you very much! It's pretty interesting seeing the variety of what's already out there, but also good to know there are things missing and so room for improvement.
>>18 Hopefully I'll get this troublesome client out the way this week and then have time to give Tenhou a go.
Met up with the Russian girl again today, but later realised I still don't actually know her name.
Today is the holiday, called Labor Thanksgiving Day in my homeland, Japan. So, I can stay home now. But, in this evening, I must go to workplace I work as a part-timer, what's a worse, in the place, there is a new comer party after finishing my today's part-time work. You may think "New comer party? It's so good to you. What's matter?". If so, I tell you the reason. My today's part-time work is from 6pm to 10pm and the party is from 11:30pm to about 2am. So hard overnight party! All though I have lessons of my university tomorrow, I must go to the party... Jesus! The secretary(Our senior) may wanna kill me...
>>39 According to wikipedia, Labor Thanksgiving Day is the modern name for an ancient cereals (rice, barley/wheat, foxtail millet, barnyard millet, proso millet, and beans) harvest festival known as Niiname-sai, believed to have been held as long ago as November of 678. Traditionally, it celebrated the year's hard work; during the Niiname-sai ceremony, the Emperor would dedicate the year's harvest to kami (spirits), and taste the rice for the first time. The modern holiday was established after World War II in 1948 as a day to mark some of the changes of the postwar constitution of Japan, including fundamental human rights and the expansion of workers rights. Currently Niiname-sai is held privately by the Imperial House of Japan while Labor Thanksgiving Day has become a national holiday. 1 May is also celebrated as Labor Day by many trade unions in Japan, which hold large rallies and marches in Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya.
Is this a joke to show the characteristics of people from three region? Is there common understanding that people from England is optimistic or dumb? I guess the aim of this joke is compare people from three regions so Scotsman, Irishman and an Englishman can't be replaced just by John, Mike, Steve, right? English man is considered less religious in UK?
A Scotsman, an Irishman and an Englishman signed up for the Police Academy. They were interviewed separately, and the first question asked by their interviewer, a highly religious man, was, “Who killed Jesus Christ?” The Scotsman went in first, and his reply was, “The Romans did it!” The Irishman was next in, and after thinking for a moment said, “The Romans did it!” Next came the Englishman, who rubbed his chin and shook his head. “No, I’m sorry, old boy. I haven’t got a clue.” The interviewer told him to go home for a week and think about it before coming back for a second interview. When he got home, the Englishman’s wife asked him how he got on, and he replied, “Fine. My first day on the job, and they’ve assigned me to a murder case.”
>>48 They useally use DPRK as an abbreviation for North Korea. And I don't care whether they are going in war or not. That even might help yen's depreciation.
>>59 Does that mean the result show your web page and facebook account? I don't know how it works but it seems the site gather all info you exposed on the net so far.
I was reading up about north and south korean attacks. Things are getting crazy over there. I hope a war doesn't break out. But tension is quite high and it might be unavoidable. Hopefully six party talks can calm things down and negotiate things out. And if there is a war, US might have to fight two wars at the same time. US needs to stop fighting wars.
That's what N. Korea wants too and so they're going to take it too far this time around again. They will run out of bullets right away if they do. They just shelled the island in attempts to get America back to the table of negotiations and get some better deals there. And it seems like they failed. The US is not planning on resuming the stalled six-way talks yet, according to a US envoy.
Remember there was an event for world's first atomic bombing in Hiroshima. Some nuclear nations joined including U.S.
Remember the attendance Ban said nuclear weapons to be eradicated from the world while atomic bomb survivors are still alive. Remember Kan said something like Japan is the only country to have experienced nuclear devastation in war, has moral responsibility to lead in actions toward realizing a world without nuclear weapons.
>>73 Now I understand what you mean. Yeah, if you look close, it seems like so. (I didn't notice that until you pointed out. Stupid me.) She didn't make appearance on the show itself but the news she came to Japan was reported on the show that's why her image was put in when the show was broadcast for TV viewers can see how tall she is.
She'll make apperance on some TV shows including that one, I guess. Anyway, I misinterpereted what you said.
(About >>69's photo, the scene of Tokudane, Fuji Tevevision's news program) I'm surprised at her height. Not fake? Really? Anyway, I want to know where she went to place in Japan...(Probably, she went to around Tokyo...). Speaking of high tall man/woman, I watched a TV program about such people. was saying that they will never fail to die early because of some illness(Sorry, I've forgotten)... So, she will be dead early...
And here an unrelated topic is. To all foreigners who like/love Dragon Ball, do you know "Dr.Slump"? The comics were also produced by Akira Toriyama. The comics and the animation based on these were so popular. Below the movie of the animation's opening. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmPnBjcuP2E
I ask this question to them because I wonder if all they also know Dr.Slump.
I want to ask you guys about "hillbillies". I read an article about the movie Winters Bone that featureling hillbillies. I googled this word, but I still have no idea how this word being used? I mean derogatory or something bad images? and Sorry my bad English.
Hillbilly is a word for people in the southern states who reside in the countryside and rural areas. It is derogatory but not as bad as something like white trash. Think of it like someone who is uneducated and speaks a very slanged and grammatically incorrect English. The stereotype is that they are not smart and have no manners. But just a stereotype. It's not good to take stereotypes to heart.
Since I watched this movie, I was wondering they are like "buraku" in Japan. They are so poor, uneducated, dealing cracks…. But I understand it's just a stereotype.
I know "Dr. Slump", but I'm also the kind of person who visits 2ch. I think most people (I only know about Americans) who like Dragonball do not know "Dr. Slump." I think, too, that most Americans only know Dragonball Z and don't know Goku as a child.
>>79 Thank you for responding to me. Well, you say most Dragon Ball freak in the US may not know Dr.Slump... I see. Dr.Slump is gag comics. As you watch the movie I showed on >>75, this is so funny. For example, speakable sun, speakable crap(Arare loves and always pick at it with a twig, running around the ground every time), Suppaman(the character is a parody of Superman, "Suppa" means "sour" in Eng. He always eat an umeboshi everytime he "transforms" himself into Suppaman), and so on... In You Tube, there are most of all the animation's stories. If you're interested in, you can watch these. I think you'll never fail to be excited!
>>78 I guess you don't understand both hillbillies and burake people. By your reasoning blacks in slam and hillbillies are similar. I don't think many people agree with that.
A lot of Europeans are like hillbillies living in the past although they may not be that poor or engaged in agriculture. Some of them even think themselves educated but not really, they just follow rationalized racist belief systems such as white supremacy. Typically, the misplaced sense of superiority and poverty go hand in hand, and racial bigotry is pretty rampant on the internet.
Zooey Claire Deschanel Do you think she's pretty? There are tons of guys who love her around my area. But I still can't see her charm. Why is she so appealing?
I think she's sort of a queen in the indies film world, but is not able to be superstar in Hollywood. She's very very attractive in a way but only some otaku boys would catch her charm. All the boys are Otaku, probably that's why she's very popular among my area^^ They also love Perfume, which is just ordinary girls band that has no appealing at all IMO. So same tendency can be seen on her^^
>>92 I believe the two have similar meaning. "He is based in Wisconsin" "He is based out of Wisconsin" It's the same thing, I think. Maybe, the second one implies that the person/company frequently moves from or exports products or services out of Wisconsin? I think the second one is used more with companies, but honestly it doesn't matter which you use.
They are Asian but reached to the top of Billboard chart a sew weeks back. If you know something about them, please share it. I wonder if their origin is Japan or Korea. My hunch tells me they are from Korea by their appearance.
>>106 Oh, Thanks. I was too lazy to look it up myself.
Are you familiar with them? I guess it's not that easy for Asians climb to the top of Billboard chart. I don't thing it was the total chart. Must have been rap chart.
It is 0 deg C righ now. Cycling in this cold weather is not easy at all. The humidity is too high an dthere is a wind that makes it feel colder than it is.
I'm on a trip in Tohoku district. Yesterday night inside the hotel room was so hot that I couldn't sleep well. So I'm insane sleepy this morning. It is difficult to see internet until tomorrow.
Happy Thanksgiving english speaking 2ch denizens! It's 47 degrees Fahrenheit right now and I'm already cold. So it must be even worse for you guys. Stay warm!
Today is Black Friday, where stores sell things at big discounts. Malls get very crowded. I live next to the largest mall in the US by retail area, and it was very crowded at 5:00AM. I ended up buying a pair of headphones made by Sennheiser, a German company. They are amazing.
>>135 Sennheiser is well known to Japanese. These days they make headphone for PC gamers and their product is received favorably in Japan though some of their products haven't good sound quality.
>>139 actually this is not for beginners. please find >>100, it is too long to read for beginner. all you are mis-understanding yourselves. so please create 'for beginners', because i could not create any thread due to restriction.
It certainly has gone downhill recently. With all the publicity it's been getting, there's been a large wave of new members, unlike anything there ever used to be. They're pretty stupid.
There are threads on /b/ called "bring something back from 2chan" where people usually manage to find something incredibly weird. So, I wondered what Japanese people thought of 4chan, and I stumbled across here. :p
>>143 I don't like 4chan as well as futaba channel. Because 4chan is not ordinary bulletin board, but picture bulletin board. This fact makes me really disgusting. Whenever I go there, I am obliged to see stupid pictures. Some of them are awfully irrelevant to the thread topic and extremely disgusting. There is no reason I go there again.
I've stopped visiting the popular boards; random, videogames, anime, etc. The only ones worth visiting are those with less traffic, where people can actually discuss things sensibly
>>149 Nah, not rude at all at least in this thread. Actually there are some reasons that people to do that. However no one force you to do that, so please do as you like.
Interesting. On English speaking boards, when people sage it's almost a form of insult. It's like saying the thread isn't worthy enough to be bumped to the top of the page, because it's a waste of space and not worth anyone's time. And then I come here, and sage-ing seems to be the norm.
The more you acquainted with Japanese culture, the easier you will learn the age-sage combination technique. As for me, I mostly do age on this English speaking threads.
In old days, some spam script and virus bombed threads from top of the thread list to a certain point. for example from the first(top) thread of list to the tenth thread. This is one of reasons why we do that regularly.
I suppose someone explained other reasons in previous thread. So, If you are interested in, you may or may not find it in previous thread.
>>146 Average Japanese don't know 4chan, 4ch. Actually, I hadn't know it until someone mentioned the forums long before here.
As someone said above, 4chan is an image board so I'm not interested in it at all. I saw some amateur girls post their naked photos and that's only when I'd like to see photos on 4chan.
apologies, i just hit retuirn after reconnection and re-posted my last reply. We woke up to snow this morning. I will need to walk to the town centre instead of cycling.
I tried tako nigiri once. It was harder to chew than other nigiri.
What operating systems does everyone use? I use Windows but didn't like how it displays Asian characters. So I downloaded GDI++ and now all my text in both Japanese and Latin script looks beautiful. I got it here: http://free.flop.jp/gdi++/src/gdi0958.zip
I'm not trying to advertise, it's just that I don't know how I survived without this program. This thread especially looks MUCH better. Here's a comparison I made (the right one is with GDI++): http://i53.tinypic.com/29bckk.jpg
I am using Mac, with which I can see more beautiful characters than with Windows. Recently, prices of its notebook computer is relatively cheap, so I wonder why you don't use one of them.
>>174 Because OSX doesn't support many of the programs that I like to use. Also, I find Windows to be more customisable and I am generally more used to it. I use Ubuntu Linux occasionally though. You're right, Mac includes anti-aliasing of Asian characters by default, something that Windows is missing for some reason. But the program I shared solves that problem anyway. Ubuntu also anti-aliases by default.
Thank you for your reply. The present Mac uses chips of Intel. So, it is used as a computer for Windows, if you want to. DVD of its operating system includes Boot Camp, through which you can choose in the beginning of your session, whether you use a computer in a usual way of apple computer or in a way of WIndows computer. Besides, you can use Windows, while using your computer as Apple computer, if you have a software such as Parallels. You can use it as a computer working on Linux as well.
>>174 "Cheap" is a fairly relative term. For example, here, you could buy a 17" Macbook Pro containing an Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM at 1066MHz, and a 500GB hard drive at 7200rpm. These systems contain an NVidia GeForce GT 330M as standard, as well as a DVD-RW drive - all for £2,620 (343,500yen, $4,087).
In contrast, you could buy a 17.2" Asus notebook system with an Intel core i7 processor, 8GB of DDR3 RAM at 1066MHz, a 1.5TB hard drive at 7200rpm, an NVidia GeForce GTX 460M with 1.5GB of DDR5, and a Blu-Ray RW drive. This would cost around £1,800 (236,000yen, $2,800).
To me, it's not worth £820 extra for a system with an inferior specification, even if it looks prettier.
Well certainly, Macs are easier to use... but I would compare it to a bike with stabilisers. Functional and simple, but that's about it. Whereas something like Windows would be a motorbike. Much more dangerous, but it does so much more. If you know what you're doing, everything that can be done on OSX can be done on Windows, and it's far more customisable. I also think that how nice the Japanese characters look is a terrible basis on which to buy a computer. It's like saying FFXIII is better than FFIX because it has better graphics. Besides, nice looking characters is hardly the basis for buying a computer.
>>177 >>185 I can't understand what you wanted to insist. The present Mac uses the OS which has a Free BSD in its core system. Just, its interface have you feel it easy to use. The most remarkable feature Mac's computer has is I think that all software for it has to a degree common ways for their use. I think your choice between it and Window's computer is like a choice between a house at a lower cost, but with poor interior, and a house with interior having you feel comfortable.
>>186 That's exactly my point, OSX is easy to use and it does a lot of basic functions, but that's about it. If you want to be able to do a lot with your computer, you'll want Windows.
Your analogy is quite bad; the "house's interior" isn't poor at all, it has the capacity to become a mansion, while if you opt for a Mac, you might have comfortable living but you'll never be able to progress.
A Mac is good if you're a musician or a graphic designer (or a hipster... if you understand the term in Japan :p), but everyone else would want Windows or Linux.
>>187 As I wrote before, on Mac's computer, you can run Windows and a kind of Unix in a install DVD of the Mac. It's computer can be used for general-purpose. So, I think you are writing after your having known it.
I don't know which is the best system, among systems you listed. Probably, it depends on what people expect to OS they use. And, I think that almost all people would want to use MacOS, if they knew how they feel it comfortable to use. Besides, some people might have to use Window's computer in their workplaces. That is a reason why they have prejudice against MacOSX, as well.
I agree with Igirisujin, Macs have similar hardware but it's a lot more expensive. And anyway, you can install OSX on a PC if you want, but I think you would have to obtain the OS illegally because I don't believe Apple sells the OS by itself (something else I don't like).
So you can buy hardware from, say, Toshiba or Dell or HP for cheap, preinstalled with Windows, and then install Linux for free and illegally download Mac. I have a friend who did that. Although he's never used the Mac install, since there's no reason to.
On another note, what does it mean to end a 〜て form with る? For example, 見てる. Is that just the same as 見ている?
>>186 >I can't understand what you wanted to insist.
Well, イギリス人 pointed out that you can get a better computer for less money compared to a Mac. A few years ago, Apple fanboys insisted that the processors used in Macs are much better than the x86 processors used in other PCs. But nowadays, Macs use the exact same hardware as every other PC you can buy out there. The only real difference is that Apple's prices are higher. Macs use EFI instead of a traditional BIOS, but you can get mainboards with EFI from other retailers. Macs come in shiny white or metallic cases, but you can get something like that from other vendors if that's your taste.
Then there's the point that Macs come with OS X instead of Windows or Linux pre-installed. But OS X is just an operating system. An OS is just software, it can be erased or newly installed as you wish. You can run OS X on a non-Apple computer if you buy the right hardware components. You can also run Linux or Windows on a Mac (because today's Macs are nothing but ordinary PCs, after all), but why do that when you can instead use a more powerful computer that costs 30% less than even an inferior Apple?
>>193 As a mac believer, I want to say following points (I am a bit drunk and as a non-native my english might be rough. sorry about that).
Surely mac is a little more expensive than PC, but it's just like several hundred bucks difference. If you are a geek or a person who sit in front of computer display for several thousand hours per year, who cares about that small difference? It's less than a dollar per hour, if your computer dies in one year after purchase.
> Then there's the point that Macs come with OS X instead of Windows or Linux pre-installed. What you said in this paragraph is a half true and a half lie. When it comes to desktop, especially tower desktop, Mac pro is super expensive and I would never buy it unless someone pays for that. But for laptop, mac is a serious competitor for laptop PC. You may not get 4-core processor and blu-ray drive, but the battery life is longer than most of PCs, the display is beautiful (if you don't mind the glossy display), and input devices are superior (though it's just my humble opinion as a mac lover). There are things other than price and CPU/GPU powers which are relevant, I guess.
Everything else is essentially the same. So I was able to get (arguably) better hardware, for half the price of the Mac. The only thing I wish I had from the Mac is the battery life. That seems to be the primary thing that they do better than PC's. Although for another $1100 I could just buy 7 more batteries.
>>199 That takes quite a research. I don't even know the spec of my PC except that it costed apx.$2400(200 thuosand yen.) ----------------------- Joke time Man: “Doctor, doctor, I keep thinking I am a dog.” Doctor: “How long has this been going on?” Man: “Ever since I was a puppy.”
He just asked me to send an email to you to explain what happened to your order. So I am writing this email to you right now.
I do part time work for a NGO organization, This organization is dedicated to helping keeping students in schools , reading and studying and giving materials support to those whose family finance situation is not good so as not to make him/her complete basic education. They help not only Southeast Asian countries education, but also Japan’s schools. This organization is a non-profit organization, They also support Japan and do some political work on The issues: 北方領土問題とは & 常任理事国入り. I do web page editing work for them at weekends.
I told my friend(your seller) that if he donates $200 to this organization, I would give him a gift , a brand new gift (the item you ordered from him) which I just bought last month. I guessed he then post some Ad on the Internet. He wanted to sell the gift for making some money to make a donation to this organization.
He donated $200 to this organization on their website one morning, and called me to ask for “ the gift”, when I was traveling in Okinawa. I stayed in some youth Hostel in Okinawa. I told him on the phone that I will be back to Tokyo in 2 days and will hand “the Gift” to him in person as soon as I am back .
Unfortunately, something bad happened to me at midnight on the same day. An American young man checked-in in the afternoon and he was assigned to stay in my room( there are 6 beds in my room). He told the hostel manager he gonna check out next day, and He is a U.S Air base soldier, serving in Okinawa, and He left his ID in the Base, and he came out without any belongings , No suitcase , no bags. We all thought this is a little bit strange, but as he told he works in Okinawa, the Manager agreed to let him check in and stay.
I had a party that night, and got back to my room at about 2:00AM. I saw nothing on my bed. My backpack was gone, He ‘s gone. Both were gone, disappeared. My notebook, Laptop, wallet, passport, and “the Gift”(your item) in the BAG! I felt dizzy suddenly. We reported to the Police right away. And the Police Officers came, investigated and recorded some information and asked me some questions. They told me that they would contact the U.S base to do more investigation.
I am so sorry, I didn’t have any item for you FOR NOW, just because of my carelessness.
I asked my supervisor if the organization can make refund to him ,but my supervisor told me all donors were noticed by the system email (before donor sends money)that all donation is non-refundable. I am very upset about this. This is my fault ,I know. And the worse is I do not have money to give back to you right now. But I ‘ve told myself I must do something to you , definitely.
1 I asked the organization to change donor’s name, my friend is not donor, You ARE. I will ask the organization to put your name on the donor’s list, and on the front page of the books which will be given to poor schools and poor students both in Southeast Asia and in Japan.
2 I will try to give money back to you As soon as possible. (including the interests)
3 Also, I would manage your money For you, if you trust me. I can help you invest in some companies which I believe can bring you profit and benefit.
So please trust me and give me more time. I will send money back to you step by step , little by little , and will keep you updated and keep contact with you always .
I want to be your friend through this case. I want to prove you that all I said here is true and the promise of “ you won’t lose money” is true.
Thank you for your reading, and I will send you another email soon.
>>209 I prefer sake to wine. I love to drink sake in my home. The reason is not to get in trouble with yakuza or Bosozoku (violent running tribe in English)like Ebizou Ichikawa, one of Japan's famous and popular Kabuki actors(and is also known as a Play boy...)
>>199 One kg difference is huge in my opinion especially large battery life usually result in larger battery. And your 7 additional batteries will cause probably extra 3kg burden (I am just kidding).
I have been a PC user for 10 years and still sometime use PCs when it's necessary. Before I became a mac user, I also thought mac is a company which sells inferior computers at higher price, and people who use it are crazy. However, after purchasing my first mac, I changed my mind and do not care about the price difference anymore. It's just easy to use. To me, there seems be something in mac which makes users happy, or this is just a result of conversion in my religious belief.
I notice a few of you keep saying, "I can't understand what you wanted to insist." Technically, it's grammatically correct, but it's a very odd thing to say. No native speaker would say that. It's far more natural to say, "I don't know what you mean" or, "I can't understand what you're trying to say". You could also say, "I don't know what you're talking about" which I reckon is slightly ruder. And if you want to be very rude, you could say "you don't know what you're talking about". It's also common to phrase the idea that you don't understand (or that they're not making sense) as a question; "what are you talking about?", "what do you mean?", etc.
There's your English lesson for the day - I hope it helps.
Is it more normal to put a question mark at the end of a question sentence or not to in Japanese? Ex. あれは何ですか or あれは何ですか? or... あれは何ですか。 or.... 何これ <`ヘ´>
>>225 I would say both are normal now. Before the influence of English on Japanese language after the WWII, we did not use ? in the end of sentences, but right now using ? is fairly common. But if the document is somewhat formal, such as academic theses and government documents, it's still less common. Though I use ? sometime when I write a thesis in Japanese.
? isn't in Japanese writing system in the first place and it's not right to use it at the end of sentense even if a sentense is a question form.
I feel odd and can't accept "?" in Japanese writing but younger people don't necessarily feel the way I do. In the age of Internet, people use "?" more often than ever before and some people don't even think it's against writing rule.
I'd accept the usage of "?" in a very casual writing, but I don't want to see it used in formal writing and writing of grownups.
>>228 Do you know Ebizo has been hospitalized because he was punched in his face a few days ago and cheek bones got broken, part of front teeth cut off and what not? He was notorius for behaving bad when he drinks and it was said that sooner or later he'd be in trouble when he goes bar hopping.
Now Kabuki is traditional Japansese art form but Kabuki was originally played by "Ksawara kojiki" meaning beggers who lives at river and they were "Eta," who are ancestors of Buraku people. They were underclass people. But these plays by these beggers at river got popular, their social status was raised to common people.
It costs a lot to see Kabyuki play at theater now but originally it was played by social outcasts. Ebizo and other Kabuki actors are all descendents of beggers at river.
>>229 Are you in a position like an English teacher where you have lots of opportunities to see common mistakes made by Japanese English learners? Where have you found the mistake you mentioned above? In Internet forum?

No, I'm still in school myself actually, and I've got no aspirations to become an English teacher. I just found that mistake I mentioned earlier while I was skimming through this thread.
>>197 >You may not get 4-core processor and blu-ray drive, but the battery life is longer than most of PCs, the display is beautiful You could say the same about the Netbook I bought a year ago, an EeePC 1005HA. More than 10 hours of battery life, LED-lit matte display (I really dislike glossy displays), practically inaudible HDD and fans most of the time. It's not powerful at all in terms of CPU/GPU/RAM, but it's more than enough for e-mail, web browsing,, most videos, slide shows, reading PDFs and writing stuff, which is all I want to do on the go anyway. All for a price of around $300/25000円 back then. That means I could buy one (or several, for the whole family) of these in addition to a more powerful computer, with the same money that one single Mac would cost.
>>240 I feel the former group is more polite and formal. However in the case of everyday conversation with friend, I suppose the second group is more common.
>>227 Whoa, I had no idea that 「?」 isn't a perfectly accepted piece of punctuation in Japanese yet. I started learning the language mostly by reading comic books and playing video games, and question marks are used everywhere in those. Many people on message boards, blogs etc. use it too, and also in novels I come across the occasional !? and such. I don't mind it being used though, I think it's a useful piece of punctuation.
I just wish people would use more 漢字 when writing Japanese, and also get rid of old 当て字 constructions. That would make it a lot easier and faster to read for me.
Technically, there are some expressions that are hard to interpret without "question mark".
As same as in English, in speaking, we judge whether the sentence is interrogative or not from pronunciation or intonation. Needless to say, in reading and writing, we cannot judge that without "question mark".
I seldom read a novel. In fact, I can't remember when I read a novel last time. However I knew two of them, Shorato Ikenami and Haruki Murakami and The others... Who are they? I have never heard their name.
My sense may be quite different from general and ordinary people who read a book or novel occasionally.
there are two people at tenho 2ch room now. so we need one more people at least to play mahjong. is there people who want to play mahjong with us? novice is welcome.
if you want to play mahjong, you are still welcome. why don't you join us to have a chat?
>>252 I just looked over a couple of books in my room, and it looks like Natsume Soseki, Kawabata Yasunari and Miishima Yukio used it too. Funny how these highly respected authors are considered DQN now.
Hi everybody! I am from Hong Kong. First came here just yesterday for information about MHP3, and it is interesting to see how large a forum can be. But, why aren't people chatting in English in an English page?
>>262 Hi. Maybe the Board name, "ENGLISH" is confusing. English board is a forum where people talk about every about English "in Japanse," such as how to improve your English. It's obvious because 2ch itself is a Japanese forum. How they named this board can be confusing, though. This thread is an exception where you talk in English.
By the way, I saw almost all Edison Chen's leaked photos.
Reply to #260 (Sorry I don't know how to set up the link) Frankly I don't know much about TOEIC, but I am sure that good command of English is nothing related to the marks/grade one get in exams. There are lots of people getting good TOEFL/IELTS results without being able to speak/write properly in English.
Reply to #263 (How do you put up that link?) Thanks to you, very well explained! But that is the problem: One doesn't get used to it without using it everyday. I am also facing the same problem here: I am positive that I can read or listen to English pretty well, but speaking became my weakness as I don't have to speak in English all the time.
>>264 Just type the less-than signs, as it's displayed. You can use as many as you want, and can use commas and hyphens as well. >264 >264 >>>264 >262,264 >260-264
Really thank you Nanashi. I know I am bad, not reading instructions before trying to say anything. Oh no, there is even a page for oriental medicine here in 2ch!
>>264 So,u mean it's doubt that one who can get good resultson TOEIC are not able to speak fluently? If it's true, what's the TOEICs roll? Just cuz we Japanese don't know TOEIC is useless?
By the way, It's said that Ishikawa Ryo is good at speaking but he don't know grmmer, so he will get low score if he take test.
>>271 I guess TOEIC, like TOEFL or IELTS or everything similar is to give others a benchmark to measure the ability to command English. Afterall, they are exams - and exam skills will inevitably play a part in them. So you can actually see someone with excellent TOEFL marks write something that you don't think is proper English. You can consider them as benchmarks - whether one is good in English depends only on how well he/she uses it.
Consider this: An illiterate in the US/UK is still very fluent in spoken English :D
>>248 Video games, comic books, Internet forums are all casual settings. In formal settting we don't use "?" in a sentense. "?"isn't part of our writing system. It's convenient to use it to make it clear that a setense with ? is means a question. But we can understand whether a sentense is a question or not without ? mark, by understanding the context and just by reading a sentense itself.
Some DQN workers use "?" even in business email and that's annoying. Nobody writes "C U tomorrow." in business email. This might be an extreme example but using "?" in business mail is no-no. Only DQN workers use "?" without knowing it's not acceptable in business email.
>>280 I don't have any big problem with tenhou. It's got a nice interface now that I've figured it out, and it's good that we have a room that we can all meet in, and the ability to play with only 3 people.
However, I would prefer: -Ability to chat while playing -Ability to pause (I had to pee in the middle of a game so I had to sacrifice a round) -slower play (I know mahjong is supposed to be played fast, but i'm a noob so it can be hard to figure out how to best play my hand that fast)
If there's a site that offers that without neglecting the good things about tenhou, it'd be good to switch. I like tenhou otherwise, though.
I think there is no place that allow us to pause while we are playing. So only we can do in that case is to do what you did today. If you have enough fortune, you can still cope with that situation.
As to having a chat, hangame has that function. they also provide us with private room. so, if they have no difficulty registering membership and participating from outside of Japan, it seems like best place to play.
I once asked our government why they still use IE6 in almost all their departments. There are two reasons. First, there are so many workstations which require updating - tens of thousands of them. Secondly, most of their bespoke web systems don't actually work outside of IE6.
If each department was able to get their IT people to stay back for perhaps an hour or two after the working day ends, I'm sure an update wouldn't take so long. And surely these web-based applications should be able to work cross-browser and not just in one specific one, as that shows signs of being badly coded up... not really something you want to associate with the government using.
I don't know about you guys and tech things, but I bet some portion of tech savvy people bame IE just because blaming it makes them look cool. Some are just know-it-all men.
>>295 I am not that techie person but when I created my website using tiny trick with stylesheets, IE6 was sometimes in the way. Browsers are interpreters of various mark-up languages such as html etc, and IE6 does not follow a standard way of doing it. Because of that, site-makers have to take extra care for IE6 that's totally unnecessary if it follows rules. My website was not a commercial site, so it was ok to just ignore them (and i did), but if this was my business I had to deal with IE6 user.
This problem might be quite analogous to China in the world. They have their own way of doing business, but people cannot ignore or punish them because the population is bunch.
>>296 All I read so far was complains from the standpoint of users of a browser. Like, IE sucks so you should change your browser to Fire Fox or Chrome. Your response is from the standpoint of a website maker and it was new to me. Thanks for sharing the story.
Quite a lot of people don't know there are other borwsers and they don't even know the name of browser they are using. They just use IE because it is pre-installed. They must be victims of MicroSoft's strategy where they bundle IE and windows.
More educatiuon is needed to raise awareness that IE sucks but some people don't care what browser they use. They don't even know there are other browsers. Downloading and installing other browsers such as FF and Chrome is high hurdle for people with low PC literacy. It's easy for them to use their PC as it was when they bought it, IE pre-installed.
The latest version of IE is IE8 but maybe the problem you mentioned hasn't been solved.
>>291 You mentioned that a few days or a week ago.
Tenho's program is made from Flash. So I suppose you can use any web browser you want, if the web browser can execute Flash properly.
Well, I am searching more desirable online mahjong site that we can play for free. As I mentioned before Hangame is most suitable for our requirement. However they compel us to use IE and they probably use Active X. For those reasons, I want to rule out Hangame if you don't oppose.
I think most important thing is all we can participate easily. Yes, Tenho absolutely suit this promise. Then I have a question. Do you mind installing client software on your PC? If not, there is the site that we can have a chat while we are playing. However there are several things that I have to say. First, the site is for animation geeks. so if you don't like those kind of things, you absolutely die. Second, The site require us to do more complicated procedures in registration and playing game than tenho. (need e-mail address and need to put some personal informations. I suppose we can put false information and nobody want to submit real information to those kind of sites.) Third, they have a lot of cheat item such as character cards but I heard this function can be disabled. Fourth, It's still uncertain whether they can allow us to connect their site from outside of Japan. If those facts don't bother you, it's worth trying.
One more thing, They say we can use free mail address such as gmail in registlation. However in that case, they can't support us at all but who care such a thing?
I managed to make accounts on both hangame and pairon from the US. However, I haven't tried playing hangame yet because I don't use IE. I haven't tried pairon yet because I haven't yet downloaded the... 5GB install?? I'll download it because I'm curious what sort of mahjong game needs 5GB. Can you vouch for this client not having any sort of malware?
Ahh..., I downloaded Pairon client software. Then I realized the client software is fuckin huge. In addition to this, there are some nasty rumors about Pairon.
It would be better for us to throw away the thought that we try to play at Pairon.
We could just use tenhou like before, but chat during game on a different chat site. For example: http://2chtenhou.chatango.com/
>>297 IE8 is supposedly just fine, I think people don't use it just because it still carries the stigma of IE's past security flaws. I prefer chrome just because I like the style and I like that only one tab or app will crash instead of the entire program crashing.
>>314 Both of them are similar to each other, aren't they? We need to install client to play in both cases.
Taking what Mr.X said at >>301 into consideration, I suppose tenho is easier to participate. Do you mind that you have to use other web site in order to have a chat?
I hadn't noticed Aphrodite. That doesn't work though, because Aphrodite was a (mythical) person. You can't describe a group of people as "Aphrodite", as you can with coroners, dignitaries, or hermaphrodites. You could say "love goddesses".
>>324 So you are Venusian, but what languages do you speak (aside from English and Cytherian)?
Why do you guys think he greet us? To be honest, I have no idea who he is greeting. Taking his using those word into account, I suppose he know the difference between plural and singular. If not, probably he would have written "Aphrodites".
>>326 Are you nats? Obviously, you were talking to yourself. I know your mind was bombed by evil thought of the Globe so that your mind fell apart thoroughly. Why don't you take a rest at your own planet "Venus" for several months or years or as long as you are alive. Take care yourself, Bye!!
>>327 That is right. i just talk to myself but you perceive it through the net. I move your thoughts just like that. Yes I need a rest. I think if Kame-chan gave me a nice shoulder massage it would be heaven for me.
Maybe there's nothing wrong with his grammar, and he's suggesting that we in this thread form the collective consciousness of the Greek goddess of love. I can say that I, for one, am a sexual beast. ;)
Kabuki actor Ichikawa Ebizo was assulted by members of gang group that is called Kantorengo Kantorengo manages many illegal businesses by order of yakuza. its categorised as yakuza by police. Hirosue's ex-husband is member of Kantorengo. a Korean man. their main territory is Roppongi. one of most dangerous place of Tokyo city.
I saw a mouse running across my room a minute ago. When I stood up, he stopped running and we stared at each other for a while, and he ran away. Is that because my room is dirty?? I hadn't seen mice at all here for years since I moved in. I mean, this is my first experience to run into such a thing in anywhere. Does anyone see mice now and then in your place?
They sell a mouse trap so buy it. If you rent a room, call your landlord and make him handle the problem. But chances are he ignore it because it must cost a lot to make mise removed.
Roppongi is pretty safe, though it's true that drug dealing takes place in clubs there. It's Shinjuku-Kabukicho where you have to be a bit cautious, but it's still safe as long as you don't fuck with the wrong guys.
>>346 I'm Japanese. Just living in the US for some reason. Americans usually don't say what the f*** unless they are really surprised or frustrated, so I thought he was angry.
>>350 Well..., I was a grad student here first, but now I have an American fiance, and we decided to get married next spring since I graduated from school last summer. I was going to go back to Japan after graduation, but everything has changed because of this reason.
I had nightmare for weeks. When I went my teacher's room for the first time, he blindfolded me and tied me up then poured his urine on my mouth. Then he grabbed my hair and made me see warm drips of urine strokes his skin over and over and over. Whenever I groaned impatiently, he blamed me and had me to explain where I am staring at. I could only say that I'm thirsty in that hot room and it is almostly dripping... But he never forgave me. He demanded me to say that I can't resist his large drippy ice cream like the other students were. The teacher is Hentai.
I often felt difficulities in developping close relationships especially with male people. Once with a tutor, besides my sincere respect and his trust in my faith for me being obvious child, in contrast I was rude and inpatient child by nature and he was incredibly patient at heart, it developped well somehow. No person is the same. The tutor was not an objectively perfect person for sure. We just shared a room. Events and ideals, for years, for a moment. What else is a life. My childhood was treasure for it. I wanted to leave the touch of happiness for the next generations somehow. It doesn't have to be physically or directly, so us masons believe.
Nightmares aside, in reality, I experienced troubles. I heard TOEFL as bench-marking organization and means to collect commisions from students. Teacher stired the concept of bench-mark examinations and it sounded quite a fuel while unhealthy concept started to harm minds. Harmed mine more than teacher imagened for I didn't know actually about TOEFL. I saw we had to pay some for mistakes. I doubt I want to study more.
>>363 What do you mean by "questionable"? I don't understand, but, if what you want to say is that all essay questions are stupid and you can't care less about any of topics, I totally agree.
I think maybe you are a foreigner? TOEFL's topics are too mature for a beginner and questions are beyond my imagenation. I'm wondering why teacher thought we should take the examination other than they didn't care much about TOEIC.
>>362 Huh? I'd been working under an internship program in an American company in the field of my major for a half year before I graduated, then they hired me as a full time worker last month. My fiance is an administrative lawyer. Neither of us depends on each other's bank account although it's not we're well off. He might cheat on me or get divorced from me later in the future, but so might I. You never know what's going to happen no matter who you are married to or where you live unless you are a prophet or something.
What I don't understand is why you try to hurt other's feelings like this.
Concerns Regarding Roppongi, Tokyo: The majority of crimes reported by Americans in Tokyo have occurred in Roppongi, an entertainment district that caters to foreign clientele. Incidents involving U.S. citizens since spring 2004 include murder, assault, overdoses on heroin allegedly purchased in Roppongi, theft of purses and wallets at bars or clubs, and drugs allegedly slipped into drinks. Several Americans have also reported being charged exorbitantly in bar tabs in some bars and clubs in Roppongi. A number of Americans have also been arrested over the past year in Roppongi for various offenses. Please be aware that Roppongi has also been the scene of violence between criminal syndicates. Americans are urged to keep these incidents in mind and exercise caution should they choose to visit Roppongi.
>>365 I am Japanese, and it's been quite a while since I last took TOEFL. Are you taking TOEFL for nothing? I mean, you sound like you have to take it though you don't have a plan to study abroad. If that's the case, it must be more painstaking.
>>366 If you don't want to be hurt, why you came here? You can't plead with us to sympathize here. Remember, If you are afraid of being hurt, it would be better for you not to come here again.
>>373 I'm not hurt, at all. Why should I?? It's just so hard to understand those who try to hurt others. I don't have any reason to want someone to be sympathetic with my situation.
>>374 >It's just so hard to understand those who try to hurt others.
This is one of the anonymous forums so you don't get to know who you are. That's why Slim Shady in you tends to be dominant here. Just in case you have no clues about what Slim Shady is, it's the dark side of yourself. Everybody has their own Slim Shady in themselves. No matter if you don't want to admit it or not, you have your own Slim Shady in you, too. So you can't blame anybody who offends you. All you should do is just smile and wait until his Slim Shady go away. After all,
SLIM SHADY IS IN ALL OF US, even in you and your fiance.
>>374 Huh, I see. Well, this place is not ordinary bulletin board. Those kind of things that you have experienced are everyday occurrences here. Those things are something like style or manners in this bulletin board "2ch". I know many people hate those things. Those people simply don't come here. So if you can't enjoy those kind of things, you are not suitable for this place.
>>375 Oh My Goodness, that was SO cool!! Oh yeah, you're absolutely right. My fiance is nowhere near as cool as this COOLTAK guy. I was like, almost pissed on my pants.
And thanks for answering my question. Feel like I understand what you say, somehow.
Yeah, COOL TAK is too sexy and cool. One in five women actually pisses on her pants, watching his music video. I'd recommend every woman put on a diaper before watching his video just in case...
Cheerio, 2ch, my name is Sir Oswald von Clark, the thirteenth.
I'm a 27 year old British lad (a term referring to young males, for you foreigners). I have tea and crumpets in the afternoon, and spend my days perfecting my brewing and playing superior British games (football, football). I train with my sabre every day. This superior weapon can cut clean through french people because it is folded over a thousand times, and is vastly superior to any other weapon on earth. I earned my sword license two years ago, and I have been getting better every day.
I speak English fluently, both London and the Nottingham dialect, and I write fluently as well. I know everything about British history and their gentlemanly code, which I follow 100%.
When I get my British visa, I am moving to London to attend a prestigious university to learn more about their magnificent culture. I hope I can become a double-decker bus driver, or royalty!
I own several top hats and monocles, which I wear around town. I want to get used to wearing them before I move to England, so I can fit in easier. I tip my hat to my elders and speak English as often as I can, but rarely does anyone manage to respond.
Anyways, I'll be making 2ch my temporary home if it's not too much trouble. Pip pip!
>>389 Most people on this board are hopelessly poisoned by the US culture, so having someone who knows a shitload about the mighty Brit culture might be salvation for us.
>>349 This is incorrect in most situations, that is, anything below formal and not around women. "Fuck" can be used more than any other word. For instance, "Fuck the fucking fuck with a fucking fuck." is grammatically correct, if nonsensical.
>>395 my friends do not use f*** so often. and I don't use it at all.
> "Fuck" can be used more than any other word. you are fucking overstating or maybe you are one of these fucking high school kids who still think saying f*** is sorta fucking cool.
hmm, I am really bad at using it. need more practice.
fuck that shit. >389 san, i also would like to inquire as to where the fuck you were born. you say you're english but would like to move to england? also not a fucking bad idea to wear tophats and monocles around, they make you generally more かっこい and perhaps a little DQN. i do hope you enjoy some fucking earl grey tea motherfucker. while we're on the topic... http://images.encyclopediadramatica.com/images/f/f3/Jules.gif
I'm from South Carolina. I used to live in California.
btw, many Americans don't make differentiation between Japanese, Chinese, or Korean. They are all grouped? into one, "Asian American".?
Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans, and Korean Americans, are all friends. They don't have any prejudice toward one another, because the Asian American ideology is that "We are all Asian".
Japanese dosnt have such ideology like "Asisn" or "Japanese" Because samural culture demands royalty to the current owner. so "American". but Chinese and Korean are not. they are always what they are. if someone says that "We are all asian", thats must be them.
>>411 The Government owns you, whatever country. It says 'you disobeyed' and it kidnaps you and puts you in prison. It says 'there is a war' and you are conscripted to fight it. It says 'there are taxes' and you must pay them. It says 'you are no longer needed' and you are put to death. The Government owns all.
You wouldn't be able to join into military service without meeting certain qualifications. Having to be straight is one of those though it's been considered that they might allow them gay people as qualified candidates to serve the duty recently.
I had green tea recently. When I drank it I was surprised at how sweet it was. Then I looked at the bottle and it was Arizona brand tea. American tea is almost always sweetened.
>>434 When you're young, it's goot to do that, because you can't intake any water or tea or anything for as many as 7 or 8 hours until you get up.
But when you are relatively old like me, it's no-no to drink tea or water or whatever before you sleep. You'd end up waking up before your sleep is sufficient, feeling your bladder almost exploding. Maybe Kyon2 is the same as me.
When you're young, your sleep is so deep that your sleep isn't disturbed because of filled up bladder.
It's said that hot milk is good to drink before you sleep because it relaxes you. Heard somewhere that's recommended to people who suffer depression or who can't sleep well. I haven't tried it, though.
>>435 Gyokuro taste is a mixture of sweetness and bitterness, though it's unsweetened. The sweetness is not like sugar sweet, but you'll feel some sort of sweetness. I hope you'll try and love it when you go to Japan.
>>437 I don't know how old you are, but I'm old (say mid 30s) and perfectly fine with having coffee before sleep. However, staying up all night ruins next two days. That's a big difference from my 20s.
>>440 I am young and find the same thing. If I stay up all night, waking up that morning is easy, but I feel tired through the day. Then the next morning, even if I sleep a lot, it's much harder to wake up.
>>440 I'm in my early 40's. I try not to drink tea or whatever too much before I sleep.
I don't think you're interested to hear this but, sometimes after I put my penis in pants after peeing, some urine leaks from my penis. It feels really uncomfortable to wear a little bit wet pants.
If I push urethral tube at the bottom of my ball sack and let remained urine pushed out of the urethral tube before pur my penis back in pants, I can avoid my pants getting wet. This is lifehack of forty or older people.
Now, I'm having a chat with Mr.X at 2ch Tenho chat room. So if you are interested in having conversation with us, please visit the chat room. We also recruit people who can play mahjong.
>>437 i am not that young. Because I am with younger people I feel (and they say look) much younger. Being old isnt a bad thing. It is other people's attitude. I can go to parties or work till dawn but it does have an impact on my next days. It is not age dependent, it is something to do with body clock. I think Kyon2 is an awesome woman. Maybe it is because she never had a child, she looks childish and womanly at the same time.
>>458 Personally, I don't think so. Let me explain it.
They say Giga Pudding's volume (amount) is equivalent to the amount of 20 cups of ordinary pudding. According to the article at >>447, the price of Giga Pudding is 2,862 JPY in Amazon Japan. then, divide 2862 by 20, the answer is... wait a sec... lol Yes, 143.1JPY. Taking into account this fact, Giga Pudding is never expensive.
However I suppose the quality and taste of Giga Pudding is less than those of ordinary pudding. In this point of view, we can say Giga Pudding is expensive if my speculation is right.
Fortunately or unfortunately, I've never tasted Giga Pudding. So is there anyone who ate it already, please tell me about its quality and taste.
>>476 In the case of making it from scratch, we can make it for less cost even though I don't think I can buy all necessary things for 500 yen.
However there is the problem. In that case, we have to steam or bake it. How can we do that? Giga Pudding is huge so that it's difficult to bake or steam it completely, I suppose.
>>475 Nah, it's just that I'm lying on the bed I've made on my own. I didn't study for the midterms. But getting an F really sucks. It'd screw up my GPA. So I'll dedicate myself to studying this entire week to make it up.
If you're talking, it's most natural to say "A lot of people see the picture every year". "A great number" would sound better if you're writing. But both sound fine when written. >>481 is right though about "people". "persons" is not often used except when trying to be really formal.
>>489 Call me Ishmael. Some years ago - never mind how long precisely - having little or no money in my purse, and nothing particular to interest me on shore, I thought I would sail about a little and see the watery part of the world. It is a way I have of driving off the spleen, and regulating the circulation. Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off - then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the ship. There is nothing surprising in this. If they but knew it, almost all men in their degree, some time or other, cherish very nearly the same feelings towards the ocean with me.

Whenever father dismisses secretaries, he says carelessness or creativeness could be harmful as a secretary. I'm careless type myself by the way. Secretaries jobs are not usually enough open for creativity in beneficial ways, they tend to start trying something behind the scenes. Behind the scenes, I heard there are scary traps...
When a secretary proved being not suitable for the job, it is unfortunate for both for the secretary and a company. It is different from mistakes of creative sections caused by creativities. So I was told. But of course I should not step in specific reality of which I don't yet understand.

this is what i love about Japan. you love to show families eating together in modest, homely surroundings. you appreciate small things in life. I love Japanese drama because they show ordinary people striving to do their best. not guns killing someone evey other minute or car chases.

the first man looked like he was a ship crew member, a security man perhaps. I never could work out his inclination.
The second clip is obviously full of entertainers with various genders. But the point was not their sex life.
The common point was the song about somewhere warm. Me cycling through the icy and foggy streets of Anglia, I needed to visualise somewhere warm. Hence the Brazil and kotatsu connection.
But since the second clip was based on entertainers, i also kind of referred sarcastically to the kotatsu-toe person, that his scheme could fail. Looks like in cross-cultural situations humour does not travel in a straight line...
>>519 i forgot to thank you for explaining the 2ch jargon. Thanks for teaching me such interesting sub cultural information in detail. It makes visiting this BB worthwhile.
>>515 I'd imagene how people of their country would feel of it. For most Japanese, foreigners acting foreign is pretty common. I think they will realize their identity soon. What made them what they are. Another culture helps to understand it sometimes. Please don't worry, I think.
When a kingdom is stand at bay, a king trusted a mistress as an ally despite reasons but for the weaknesses of her he had in his hand. She behaved as she is.
>>526 I'd say they're not uho-ish. They just want to be srtorng in many ways probably as a man.
kiwamelo otoko means something like "you have to become a man in a million/real man" or things like that. It could mean, "I will become a man in a million/real man." Maybe the song of theme is that all men have to try their best to become a real man, physically (and perhaps mentally) strong, although I wasn't pay much attention to the lyrics when I was watching it.
How long do you think it would take to figure out if your boy/girlfriend is the one for you to get married to?
If s/he said s/he was not sure about you and her/his marriage, even though you thought you were ready to settle down, would you still be sticking to the relationship or would you rather say good-bye to her/him and find a new partner to marry?
I think when or whether you get married should foremost depend on how you feel about the other person rather than when you personally feel you are ready to marry and settle down. So if it is someone you absolutely want to marry more than anyone, and they are just not ready yet, it wouldn't make sense to abandon them just for that. Wait for a situation to change and then ask them more seriously before moving on.
If, however, they mean they NEVER want to get married or live with you, and that you should just forget about it, then they are basically saying your relationship is almost over, anyway. I would suggest getting over them quickly if this is the case.
I assume his/her answer to you was "I'm not ready" either way, but it's up to you to decipher whether that means "maybe but I'm scared" or "no way"
It would be appreciated if someone would briefly explain the "やらないか" part of the "Uho" comic. Not for me, but for KG's further learning into 2ch. Thank you.
>>535 I guess that people take different lengths of time to adjust to such a situation. If you feel like you're ready to take it to the next stage, they might still need some time - it's very unlikely that you would both feel the same thing at the same time. Personally, I wouldn't be so quick to abandon them just because they say they're not quite ready. Of course, any relationship is initially a risk to invest time into, but you can only tell if it's a risk well-taken once you see the outcome.
>>537 The title of the comic is くそみそテクニック, and the story itself is very short. You can read colored version here. This link shows the whole story. Even if you don't understand Japanese much, you can see how the story goes. http://yaranaika.xsrv.jp/yjm/kuso-c.html (If you hate the gay and depiction of their sexual act, don't click the link. It's just a comic but still includes sexual exiplict description.)
Michishita Masakaki(みちした=family name まさき=first name)preparatory school student. He failed to pass university entrance exam so he goes to a preparatory school now to pass next years entrance exam. This type of school is very common in Japan. Abe Takakazu(あべ=family name たかかず=first name) car repairman These are the two main characters and a man wearing a suit appears at the end of the comic who accidentally listened to what was happening in side the men's room.
The preparatory school student, who recognizes himeself that he's gay, was on his way home from school but hurrying to the men's room in the park because nature calls, when he spotted a muscular good looking man, who is a car repairman, sitting on the bench.
And the young preparatory school student said to himself, "ウホッ! イイ男・・・," glancing at the good looking rapairman. You have to be careful that this is what the preparatory school student thought to himself and is not what the repairman said or thought to himself, although the frame where it is written shows the repairman's closeup face.
(Cont.) Then the repairman on the bench all of the sudden started to zip down (or unbutton) his blue (probably working) overall and exposed his private part to him. And then he said, "やらないか," meaning, "why don't we do it?"
That's when the preparatory school student remembered this park is a famouse place where gay people try meeting with each other, looking for a partner for sexual pleasure. And then they go to the men's room together and in one of the stable(cubicle?) they had a lot of fun.
The wording "ウホッ! イイ男・・・" is kind of funny, and "やらないか" is so sudden, so straight to the point (and funny) and the touch of the comic and the conversation between the two is funny and entertaining, this comic got very popular when it was partly scanned and copy and pasted and posted on one Internet forum and then posted on Futaba channel and then finally posted on 2chan.
This piece was originally included in a gay comic book published in 1987. I guess at that time, nobody but gay people know or care but thanks to the Internet, this piece became viral.
I'm having a chat with Mr.X at 2ch Tenho chat room. if you are interested in having conversation with us, please visit the chat room. We also recruit people who can play mahjong.
korean likes word "sinking" to disgrace Japan empire. because korea is part of continent unlike Japan island. korean can not be like Japanese forever even if they take over whole world.
It's been quite long since I last posted in 2ch. I was banned for months because of someone who I don't know did probably criticise DPJ.. So what did I miss?
>>536, >>537 Well, I know every person feels defferently about when they're ready to get married.
But I and my partner have been together for good 3 years and I know the relationship is not going to change in any ways. I wouldn't have doubted if my pertner had said "I'm not sure" when our relationship was only half year long.
We're both mature enough to make a big decision such as marriage agewise(both mid 30's).
I don't know. But I just can't wait, I mean, I don't want to wait anymore. Not that I'm saying I want to get married right now, but I think it seems ridiculous and one-sided that only I am certain about our relationship whereas my partner's not at all sure about our future.
I want a fair relationship that both of two feel about each other equally.
first of all. Japan lost war. economy was in the next of USA. i dont know if English skills are the measures of superiority. Japanese are very unique and morally existance. thats a pride of Japanaese. hopefully it will never be changed. and that point is sanctuary where korean can not be reached.
>>552 In Japan, the idea that women's value become less and less as they get older is common. If a man and woman go out for a long time, man has responsibility to get married because during the period in which they go out, woman became less valuable and it is harder for them to find another man, especially if she is in her thirties.
I think he should take responsibility and get married with you. He is mid 30's and "not sure about" is his excuse.
Koreans(music, companies, products, everything) have been changing to international while most Japanese remain traditional. That's the weak and strong point of Japan, I think.
If you are talking about the patent problem, you should talk about the Chinese. They have been developing illegally. Koreans have not. If you still insist, some example please.
there is PC parts maker in taiwan that is called Asrock. a korean got trademark rights in South Korean and Japan after they developed company.. so Asrock can not trade their product in Japan. koreans are such crazy ass.
I have been thinking that Japanese and English are fairly similar in their histories. English was originally Germanic and then absorbed Latin vocabulary, and uses it for many compound words. Similarly, Japanese used to be phonetically Japanese, then after meeting China, Japan took many of China's words as on'yomi and uses them for compound words. And in the same way that English took the Latin writing system, Japan uses the Chinese writing system. Also, both English and Japanese absorb a very large number of foreign words into their everyday vocabulary. Does that make sense?
>>529 This is an interesting observation. Only in a foreign land one can fully become of their own identity.
>>531 Thank you very much for the explanation. It is a " one must do one's best" message. However Ozma seems to be exempt from this rule. He is not fighting but wearing dead animals and sunglasses. Even the biker girl fought but he didn't.
>>565 Japanese leant Chinese. it was called Kan-Bun to make difference from Japanese language. still there are some Japanese who can read Kan-Bun. then ivented Hiragana and Katakana. and ivented many words with Chinese. almost half of Chinese words are made in Japan. and Nobody says that Chinese language wes invented by Japanese. like Korean says that Chinese language was invented by Korean.
I met the girl I liked when I was a teenager on the way back home from supermarket the other day and I talked to her for a while. It was the first time we met in last 7 years and she smiled at me and said "I wish I coul've met earlier because I'm married now." Then I said "Hey, do you think a guy holding a plastic bag with some groceries and raw fish in really chat up a girl ?" We laugh loud walking down the street in dusk.
Japan had been developed on bureaucratic systems. The bureaucratic systems were originally invented in China. 科挙 is very similar to Japanese civil-service exam(for elite officers).
科挙(exam system for servants) is greatest invension of human being. which Manches race made. and Japam imported it actually. China is Han race's country though.
>>572 yes but the whole world views women as commodity. Her reproductive lifetime is only half of her life. She is only of value if she can reproduce. That is what he means. Women are only useful for making babies. Most the time they are not even good enough for sex. Men think of themselves so highly that this is the common view. They take multiple lovers, even boys and men. Women are useless to men.. That is why they say it is a man's world.
>>574 I was sure you would jump at this kind of topic.
Personally, I don't care about whether my beloved can get pregnant or not, if she really loves me. To be honest, even if she is so, I still want to have sexual relationship with her.
I know women can be commodity in a sense. That is what men don't have. This can be her weapon or her weakness.
Blonde hair of Japanese is nothing but a proof of a bitch, if you ask me. Why young Japanese girs tend to tint their hair with blonde? Black hair far more suit them.
>>581 I don't care about its name. I just don't like bloody golden hair. Bitches walk in a row on a narrow pavement and block my way! What's worse, they talk in a very loud voice, which really annoys me. Who the fuck are they!
I bought a book on inter-net.the title that i bougt is japanese upon ago story. All of it i manokudd ,but i have little koukai. For reazon, there is nothing nihonyaku in. so i dont learn englisu goodly. Can you understanded to my englisyu?
>>586 As a foreigner I didn't get what you were trying to say. Some corrections: You don't need a "-" in internet. Reason is spelled without a "z". English is spelled with an "h" and there is no "u"(or "yu), and goodly should be "well". And try to read about some grammar rules.
That's what men are about. Young attractive women are the ones who men make love with basically. That's men's instinct as a creature and there's nothing you can do about it.
There are exceptions of course. Prince Charls love older women. Even when he got married with young and beautiful Diana, his heart was taken by old Kamera.
The wife of one baseball player from overseas playing in Japan is his friend's mother. When he went to one of his friends house when he was a student, he fell in love with her and got married with her sometime later.(I don't know how long after) It's funny that the friend is leagally his child.
>>594 Actually while mostly it is like that, the reason may not be that instinctual, it may be a cultural, conditioned choice. Younger women are supremely stupid and dependent. They are easier to keep under control. That is why most men prefer them. However research shows male bonobos prefer older females instinctively. We cannot definitely say what it is really like in humans, without removing all the social conditioning.
I feel you hate this world. Do you want to live in this world as long as you can or want to say goodbye as soon as possible? Even if you try hard to change those things, it'll probably end in vain. Why don't you look forward to your death unless you want to cling to this world.
What do you fight against absurd things made by mankind for?
>>597 Needless to say the way of thinking is differ from person to person.
Then, Why do you always say such a thing even though the things cannot be changed? You just want to express your complaint or dissatisfaction, don't you?
>>598 I am repeating here; just expressed an observation. When you make observations you don't necessarily take sides. Expressing your observation is an act of freedom of speech. You are not even expressing your own thoughts, you are just attacking the source of some thought. Why are you so agitated by these thoughts and why do you want to draw me into an argumentum ad hominem...
"I just saw that movie yesterday!" "Really? What was it about?" "Oh it was about 90 minutes" "I'm not talking about the length!" *Person B hits person A with a paper fan*
Western comedy:
"I just saw that movie yesterday!" *laugh track* "Really? What was it about?" *laugh track* "Oh it was about 90 minutes" *laugh track*
Sorry for the confusion. I'm a 31year old women, and my partner is 35. As I explained, it's been 3years since we started seriously dating, and I wanted to make sure whether or not he wants to get married to me in the near future. I was depicting myself being with him in my future, but what he said was he wasn't sure if he would marry me. It hurt me so very badly that I felt like all the blood in my body stopped circulating because I had totally believed that he was at the same level in love process as I was at. He said he doesn't want to decide now but does love me, so wants to stay together. But I couldn't take it rationally. I broke up with him after all, and I am feeling all sad right now.
<<606 sorry to hear about your situation. You are lucky that you did not spend any more time with him. You would have resented it. Please be strong, hold your head up high and walk through this darkness. Do not be afraid of being alone for a while. Remind yourself that you are a worthy person, all the time.
>>607 Thanks. I just broke up with him so it is going to be hard for a while. To be honest, I'm still holding up a hope deep down that he might call me again and say things I want to hear, I know it's not going to happen though. I just want to forget about him and quit spending my precious time all crying, so I'm trying to talk myself into believing I'm worth more than what I felt about myself when I heard his word.
Do you know any efficient way to forget about your ex in short period?
>>608 I wish you strength and patience to cope with the situation. Crying is a good sign that you are not bottling up emotions inside. It balances out the inner pressure so take your time for crying and breaving.
Time will crystallise everything. Give it plenty of time. At least one year. But some say, it takes a little longer than amount of time you have spent with your partner to forget things. It depends on the person. You will know it better.
You can write to me at yahoo if you wish to do so.
Whatever happens, you must learn to put yourself first. I hope you heal soon.
>>596 It is not the world that KG hates, but the common man. Idols are idealistic and therefore she thrives on the idols. She sees cute Japanese boys as being similar to idols and so idolises them also.
>>598 >You just want to express your complaint or dissatisfaction, don't you?
B.I.N.G.O. you nailed it. This feminazi bitch is obviously an undesirable old hag constantly complaining about lost youth and how the world isn't fair to old fugly women like her.
I am repeating here; just expressed an observation. Expressing your observation is an act of freedom of speech.
i dont get current topic at all. 英語で雑談 is "conversation in English" if direct translation. but "○○で○○" is a typical phrase for some practicing. so actual meaning of it is "practice of English"
>>615 I am glad you felt free to exercise your freedom of speech in your monologue to your reflection in the mirror. We are here to listen to your supressed emotions and support you so that you don't lose your mental stability any further.
Have you started using your air conditioners? It is getting colder and colder, but I will not use my air conditioner till the temprature goes below 10 degrees Celcius.
Leave me alone. I don't want anything to do with you guys. I have to do what I said earlier. Remember? If you keep intruding like this, I'll have to make sure you'll regret it. I mean it.
Why do you keep looking at me like that? You are deeply interested in handsome guys, I take it. Be that as it may, it feels really creepy, you know what I mean?
You guys are keeping watching me... I don't like it. Who hires you to do so? Can I ask you to stop that? Or are you simply interested in handsome guys? Just elaborate!
I'm not sure, but from his profile, I guess it was Chad who cut off Ishida's right arm. I know that sounds irrational or stupid coz he must have been an ally, there's no way he betrayed and attacked Ishida. But where was he when the others were at school? He didn't make himself seen there, did he? What do you think? Do you also think it was Chad?
Everyone's deserted you. You are not welcome here. You know that? Why do you keep talking to yourself like that? No one is interested in your meaningless banter. You try to draw my attention, but you fail! YOU WILL NEVER ATTRACT ME!
I couldn't understand why they compare the relationship of them with others. I think the "the source of some thought" should be at least clear. I'm sorry if I could have read and write easily, things must have been different.
When I was in an unknown country, a shabby woman was wandering the town with a scarcely clothed baby. It was a late cold winter night. She saw a house still lit in window, it was where she was going to. The woman knocked the door. A housekeeper carrying a bowl of masters sewage noticed the sound. Looked the woman through a door hole. The housekeeper opened the door slightly, saw the baby weakened, examined the baby for a while. "Pity. if you wish a milk for this baby. you want to drink up this medicine first..." The housekeeper showed the bowl. The bowl had started to smell ammoniac. The baby was getting to be cold. The woman spilled a name of divine, drinked the bowl to the bottom, being choked, knelt down, begged a marcy. The housekeeper was watching through, her tone had changed. "Now... there will be a few I can do." She went into the house for a while, came back with a warmed milk in her cup. Then smiling to the woman and the baby, poured it into the ground. "Oops, now this baby wants to suck the ground..." Loud laughter followed from inside the house. The woman realized that the baby had gone.
Many years ago, my mother met a brilliant brained and kind hearted man. Two were married. Father looked simply kind to her but he actually had more complicated personality. Still father always found out the way to be kind. They were different but most of the days she was faithful and he was kind. In the next genetration, their aspect shows unexpected ways. Their children can't always simply show kindness to her. To my mother, her children were always aliens.
I have no doubt in your superiority. Still it will not always result happiness in the family. It is not about others. I can't yet understand you.
>>649 Thank you nihon-jin-san, you too. I hope you will be all right. Try to speak to people you can trust. People here can be really hurtful. Don't take them seriously. Ony hurt people hurt others. Please live your life to the full, the best you can.
>>652 STFU already with you and your "Slim Shady" talk. "Slim Shady" is the name of EMINEM's alter ego character, who btw already killed it off like 6 years ago. No, it doesn't apply to other people's dark side and talking about it just makes you look stupid and out of the loop.
And what's the point of telling someone "let's have a masquerade" when that person refuses to wear a mask and poops the party with a "Hi, my name is ____" sticker?
Everyone here is still watching me, whatever it is. I call them my stalkers. I have more than my shares of stalkers here. Some might say I am popular but that doesn't cover it. You guys are quite threatening to me. They keep watching me..
You are at the end every day. You must live so that you can die. If you dont know everyday what you are doing with your life, what is there to (die for)??
That's horrible to think.. You are planing to watch me like that. I don't like it. Why do you keep threatening me like that? What's your purpose? What do you intend to accomplish?
It seems almost impossible for Japan to firmly uphold its three non-nuclear principles of not producing, not having and not introducing nuclear weapons. To tell the truth, Japan should continue to be a country with no army as stipulated in the Peace Constitution. But the current political situation in Asia is unstable. The world should avoid isolating North Korea irrespective of its nuclear polices. The military intervention in Thailand gave rise to many complaints from the people in this summer.
Japan must amend its constitution and officially have an army. Recent political situation will not allow Japan to be pearceful. Some missiles of Chinese army are targeted at Japan. (Japan has supplied ODA to such a country! Unbelievable!)
I mean when I say live life to the fullest, you must desire something to happen and work on it. Then I realised that most people who come here have lost enthusiasm in life although they may be brilliant persons.
>>611 you say you obeserved that I idolise ordinary people too.. ehat makes you say that? i am curious.
Japan is end since DPJ got rule. there is no way to recover. they destroyed everything they can. decreasing army forces in this situation because they are korean. american commie and japanese commie are different. american commie is just commie. japanese commie is korean. its like blacks in USA are doing anti-americanism while they don't work. a North korean was arrested as a secretary of DPJ because of blackmailing. Japanese communist party says that DPJ is completly mad.
just remember. do not let what immigrants want to do to control the country.
Well, is that true communist party of Japan mainly consists of Korean? But anyway, political is nasty and parties only do things for their benefits no matter what names they are bearing. This just like 75%+ people in US are Christian and they are still fxxking around before merriage.
for a while. japanese communist party and korean were together. on same purpose. "destroy capitalism and japanese gov". but when north korea announced that they don't care about koreans in japan, korean has seceded. into north korean organization and south korean organization. north korean organization is openly communist. south korean organization is openly capitalist. but their common job is yakuza. and there is no difference in south and north korean. and their main job is anti-japanism. most politicans of DPJ are former korean. 1 / 3 members of DPJ are still korean resident.
>>KG2ch Hi, It's >>552. One of my friends called me up last night, said she wanted to introduce her boyfriend's friend to me. I'm like in the mood that couldn't be worse, and the puffiness of my eyes wouldn't go away, which keeps me from stepping out of my room. They are SO puffy thatI had to call in sick today... My coworkers wouldn't have even recognized me. I'm trying to go to work tomorrow though. I've been icing them now. hoping that works. Anyway, honestly I don't really feel like meeting someone new now, but she says it's better to do something new to change the pattern of my life cycle so that it helps me not think about my foregone relationship. I think being cooped up with my room is miserable too, so she might be right, but I'm not sure what to do. I also think it could be rude for that guy because I'm not yet ready for the next step. What would you do if this was your case?
You are asking me whether going out with someone after a break-up is a good idea.
I cannot advise you what to do. You are your own person with your own values and needs. You would know the best for your own sake.
However, some tips:
You need to heal yourself, and you should not be afraid of being alone. You need to be at peace with yourself before you embark on a new relationship. That doesn't mean you need to stay in your room, on the contrary, try to extend your social circle as wide as possible , without getting involved emotionally. Give yourself A LOT of time. Even if it means a very, very long time.
Here is a song for you, apparently a favourite of Kame-chan:
Sadly to say, his time has stopped and all that's left is an outmoded cultural icon no one really gives a [expletive] about any more, but if it's still 'hip' to him, then so be it.
>>688 sparky4* is a futuristic European Panamanian who just happens to be forced to be born in primitive medieval south USA and live there. IT is known to have SEVERE ADHD.
i heard that everyone who have citizenship can receive economical support in USA. so nobody commits suicide because of money. unlike Japan. in Japan. somehow. only Korean residents receive full support from Japanese gov. most Japanese are poor and starving. there is no support for them.
buy crazy mugs, tshirts and magnets 1. Often misinterpreted as a bad characteristic, crazy is used to describe people that are random, hyper, creative, and flat out fun to hang with.(adj.)
you don't know who made those crazy things. they didn't get reward for their achievement. they are jobless people. otaku. losers. there is no support for them.
>>707 This is not true. Here, you can get unemployment benefits that amount to about 10% of your former pay if you have had a job in the last six months (that is to say, you get cut off after six months), if you need welfare you had better be black or living around 25% below the poverty line to get it. Same with Medicaid and other government programs.
>>713 I find that usually the residents of the house take off their shoes, but the guests often keep them on. I don't like wearing shoes in the house (or in my dorm) because it makes the floor dirty. And those house shoe things that are worn in some houses in Japan don't exist. There are "house slippers" but people only wear those if their feet are cold.
>>721 >>722 I am not angry. I didn't even consider that saying "fuck" would make me seem angry. "Damage" would be too strong of a word, "messed up" would have been too weak, and "get the hosts' floors dirty" sounded awkward. Sorry.
>>728 "Soil"? "Dirty"? "Stain"? "Fuck up" works fine I guess. Just sounds kinda casual.
As >>729 says, using a curse word does not mean you're (necessarily) angry, it just is used in very informal situations.
"I stained his carpet" -> "I fucked up his carpet" "I don't believe I'll do well on the test" -> "I'm fucked for the test" "I think you're lying" -> "Bullshit" "I don't like you, sir" -> "You're a son of a donkey-fucking cum dumpster, you fucking asshole"
>>733 As expletives, they are the same. "I got a 60% on my test. Fuck!" = "I got a 60% on my test. Shit!" However, fuck is a verb and shit is a noun. So, "Fuck this game." "This game is shit." The first one simply expresses frustration with the game. The second one means that the game is bad quality.
Literally, "fuck" means to have sex with someone, for example: "I fucked my girlfriend last night." Note that it usually sounds strange for a woman to say this. It also works as a noun, as in: "I gave her a good fuck last night."
"Shit" refers to faeces, and can be a verb or a noun as well, as in: "My shit was really brown today." "I took a huge shit and it clogged the toilet."
In all cases, the words are very inappropriate to use in a formal setting.
Maker's breath! What's this commotion? I can see under the pile of pebbles you guys are watching me! Two red lights that reflected the flash belong to you! I know it!
You are trying to put me under control, aren't you? What are the fruits? Are they tangerines? And I have to point out clearly just this once that I have my bed!! You are ridiculing me, aren't you? You are watching me...
I can't take this any more! Why is this happening to me...? You have to get me out of here. YOU HAVE TO! I don't belong here. You guys should stop stalking me. Who's the top man among your members that decides who to stalk? Spit it out! NOW!
That comment can't be accepted. You should know how much you've been disturbing me by sticking around me. Andraste forgive me, but you are horribly morbid, giving me the wiggins.
Save your breath, morbidder. You've been watching me like this. I'm under pressure. I have the feeling you guys will never let me free.... But you have to give up. I'm a free agent! You can't bind me!
See how this is gonna go down... I'm the victim of curiosity. You guys are watching me, keep doing it, no matter how hard I try to convince you to stop that... Poor me...
That comment can not be accepted. Obviously, curiosity got the best of you here... You are now watching me like the rest of you. You should know how I feel about that..
That's horrible... Stalkers think the victim, or the target, of their curiosity thinks they are happy being watched by them. That's not true at all!! Just quit it already!!
I see. I understand.... The bussiest person in the world still can't stop watching me like this... But no matter the reason, you have to let me out! I have to be free!!!
Oh that was why Andraste sounded familiar... she's a common goddess from the game Dragon Age. Perhaps >>758 is anticipating the release of Dragon Age II.

The reason I ask you guys this is a certain major ISP in US got ban recently so that there are foreigners who can't post 2ch anymore. Thx.
>>775 Posting restrictions? I'm posting from central Texas and I have never had to use a proxy at all. I thought that it was 2chan (though I guess I should call it futaba here) that had those.
Badly coded Flash sucks, just as badly coded C, Java, or even HTML sucks. Likewise, some browsers lack decent compatibility with the linked libraries Flash uses and therefore can take some of the blame too.
If there was more time, I'd be happy to play, but working times and travel make it very difficult right now. Timezones don't really help either. I get up at around 3pm JST, and work until about 1am JST (on a quiet day). On top of that, >>773 remembered that girl. Our meetings also eat away at time. But not as much as I'd like.
And by meetings, I mean just sitting around in a café, drinking tea/coffee and talking.
I was cycling between two sites and this blizzard was throwing sharp edged snow flakes right into my eyes. If it wasn't Kazuya's voice on my earphones I couldn't have cycled that far.
"To put female pantsu on or not - that is the critical point. And if you do, well then, welcome to Japan. You have clearly crossed the line to the point of no return." --名無しさん@英語勉強中
I present a challenge to Japanese/English speakers! This is a book from 1592 written in "Japanese" for Portuguese missionaries. See if you can read it! If you can, tell us what it says.
Andraste forgive me, but you must have eaten the tangelines while asleep, that's quite creepy. You guys always give me the creeps! Please, please, cut that off.
>>828 It's not that winter in cold. It's that the time of year when it's cold is called winter.
And why is the time of year cold, you might ask? That's because the axis of the earth is tilted 23.4 (23.7degrees? I forgot.) so the angle the sunrays come to the eath at changes depend on time of year as it goes around the sun.
Heat is absorbed the most when sunrays come to the earth at 90 degrees angle and the angle is the closest to 90 degrees on the equator so that's why equator is the hottest on the earth. The angle changes more, depending on the time of year in other parts of the earth, hence some parts of the earth have season.
I'm not so special a person you guys have interest in, you should know that, I must repeat myself til you get that!!! Why? Why do you guys show so much interest in me? Stop watching me like this! Don't look at me! Please!!
I'm just an ordinary person like everyone else! Why do you guys think I'm more than worth passing by? Just stop watching me! You should understand how it feels to feel watchers watching me everywhere I go!
It used to be that young women were called maids and women servants called "maidservants". Now women servants are just called "maids". Was it because they thought "maidservant" was redundant? /
Why did the Chinese boat clash into the Korean one deliberately? Territorial issue? Or do they really not care about frontiers? Are they Fishermen Without Borders?
GDP isnt directly problem. the biggest threat of Japan is media that introduce China as new leader of Japan. problem is they are korean. they dont care future of Japan. they are thinking that they will move to China after they ruin Japan.
look at the Ebizo's incident. he accused it to police. police did nothing. all media are bashing victim Ebizo. because he is bad character? yeah. it is true. BUT the real reason of it is the criminal group are famous korean yakuza. medias are bashing him instead of murderous group. and police do nothing thats what end of Japan.
"drunkenly assaulting a man." this assaulted man was same man as suspect of Ebizo's incident. because he assulted asahoryu first. then media bashed asahoryu strongly.
i think this christmas warrior jesus is coming down from above, and he face is super angry. if jesus exists and watches us from sky he must be fuckin angry. this is not the world he wanted to save. angry jesus is coming, prepare for the doomsday.
like most korean are christian. a korean assaulted church in japan with fire extinguisher because he was born in japan. so he couldnt speak korean. he felt solitude when he entered that church. lol becuase all who were there speak korean.
angry jesus is coming down from sky, but we are japanese and we dont need jesus christmas, so I'll kick his arse. suck my shit, jesus. also, asians worshipping jesus christmas are fuckin posers. it just doesnt look right. asians in churches, praying for half naked man from somewhere in europe or somethin suck my shit, cockfuckers. seriously, why worship some fuckin half naked man from some middle eastern ancientland or somethin when you are fuckin asians with fuckin asian faces. fuckin asian faces prayign for jesus as if jesus cares about fuckin asians in the far east. wake up, assholes. jesus didn't give a damn about asia.
Yes, actually, you're reading my post in your comfortable apartment now.
>Was Kamenashi shaped after Limahl's image? I know Kamenashi but don't know what you're talking about.
>Should I send an email to the gorgeous Todai boy?
Another Japanese boy or one of the boys you've mentinoned before? In any event, shoot him an email because he can study English through exchanging email and you can know more about him. It's a win-win situation.
An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman were marooned on a dessert island. One day an old lantern washed up on the beach, and the Englishman picked it up and wiped off the dirt. As he did so, a genie suddenly appeared and vowed to grant them each one wish. The Englishman thought for a moment and then said, “I wish I was back in my garden at home sipping a gin and tonic.” The genie said, “Your wish is my command,” and the Englishman disappeared in a flash of smoke. The Scotsman thought for a moment and said, “I wish I was sitting in my favorite pub in Edinburgh drinking a large whisky.” The genie said, “Your wish is my command,” and the Scotsman disappeared in a flash of smoke. The Irishman looked around for a short while, and then said, “It’s lonely here alone. I wish the other two were here.”
>>907 She's like a pro and knows how to market herself, having her own webiste, blog, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube. Whether she knows it or not, she knows what's called "Social Media" marketing.
I kind of laughed when I saw on her websiter "Amazon's wishlist." It can be considered to be begging or at least asking for a present for her, and I kind of frowned. Plus, she ask for donation, too. Even if it's prevelant in Western countries but this is not Japanese mentality.
Oh, I'm not special like that... I'm just an ordinary person. I say you should not watch me any longer.. Please, don't. You should pay more attention to something else... Why do you guys think I'm so special...? Quit watching me... Tis creepy..
I think for scientific difinition nothing may be a waste. For artistic view something should be modeled. For minds it affects moral. Personally I can't say further as long as I'm staying away and I sometimes feel you all are completely fictional.
Several days ago, I heard a story about where all fictional people came from. It seemed to tone down some fictionals was what they meant with this for. I wondered if I could be of a help.
>>804 My version was this unreliable but I tried. Why beautiful quote...
You are watching me as you always are doing so... Even when I'm asleep, I feel your eyes upon me.... Tis creepy.. Why don't you watch something or someone else. There's more to you than watching me like this, don't you think?
Honestly speaking, I don't like that kinda excuse, my lady. You guys gaze upon me from behind and when I turn to look you in the eye you always feign to look aside as if to say we weren't watching you... That's what I said is creepy... You guys give me the creeps!! Please understand how I feel about it.
>939 Sounds fantastic. How does it look exactly? Reddish? Taking pictures with a telescope sounds like needing a lot of expertise. Are you an 'astrogeek'? Not sure if there's a word like that. lol
It just hit me. Just because you are having a great view of the eclipse in America doesn't mean it's taking place here right now. There's a time lag. Sounds cool doesn't it I used to be an astrogeek myself.
>>930 It's gone now for some reason. After it's gone, some people ask questions here.
>>947 Where I live in Japan (and other parts also maybe?) we were supposed to be able to see "Total moon eclipse" but it's raining so the big chance was lost. Can you see "Total" moon eclipse in US today or tomorrow?
>>948 Northeast. >>949 It has ended now but we could see it great here. Clear skies. >>950 Yes, unless it's really excessively long. And you may be made fun of but that's typical here.
Nothing happens in NEET's life. It's just another cold winter. Today is the day when the night is the longest in a year. My mom is making pumpkin soup because there's a custom on this day you eat pumpkin. By eating pumpkin on the day when night time is the longest, it's said that you keep health and don't get a cold or something in Japan.
You mean today is the winter solstice? I like the way the word "solstice" sounds. The word "winter" sounds good too. The "winter solstice." Really good. Toji sounds really corny.
China demands cleanup of chemical weapon that was remain by Japanese army. Detail. This chemical weapon is not deadly one. its only wartering of eys. Japan couldn't bring it to Japan when war was end. so Japanese army buried it to one place. Then Chinese civil war was happened. Chinese Communist Party vs Chinese National Party. Chinese Communist Party used those weapon after they dug it out. When Civil war end, there are remains of those weapons.
So. China demands cleanup of it. but China insists Japan left it. Japan paid for it already over 10 trillion yen. and This time. They are demanding more 60 trillion yen.
>>970 Ito Lion? he is half black hafl korean. he is not a main suspect though. his supriors are korean yakuza. murderous yakuza that is called 弘道会. Ito's group also killed innocent young person. head of 弘道会 is korean.
Korean = almost half population of Yakuza. they are illegaly managing gambling in public but police do nothing. because police receive money from them. they do most money kind of crimes. swindle. illegal bank. drug. 70% of korean receive economy support from gov because they don't heve job except unspeakable illegal job.
Chinese = there are 2 type of them. slave kind and international student. chinese broker bring them to japan. and illegal company in japan use them cheaply. they are poor and poor. but they do little crimes because of poor. internatinal student is big problem. i think chinese gov relates to selection of student. because most of them are chinese mafia. their main job is stealing cars. but sometimes they do cruel murder without mercy. like a torture. even little children. because they hate japanese blood so much. plus their gov is crazy. they infinitely demands a lot of money under the name of compensation.
i think we've talked enough about china and korea. they are decendents of chinkoreanus erectus, and their fate is doomed. that is the final answer. let's move on.
What's up guys? I am drunk right now. The day after tomorrow is Christmas and I have absolutely no plan at all. Most of my friends left town to see their family or whoever. I am sad. The biggest problem I have here in the US is I don't have any families to celebrate holidays together. Anyway, to those who does not have girlfriends/boyfriends in Japan, marry christmas!!! To those who have one, fuck you and lick the anus of your partner. It will taste like the money you spent for buying the time with your partner, must be delicious.
Im boring…so, I want go to my country with baby. But my husband is 『Your don't go!』Fuxx dad. I have Secret. Actually hes like Mary jean. You know? Someday get free.
