Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!
>>3 He's a drug user. Most people wouldn't take him seriously. That said, it'd be a different story how to deal with such a guy.
Anyway, part of what's good about this is that we can learn about what happened when she died. So Ozaa san's case should be brought to court so that we will know what he did - did he try to hide what he did, making false documents and something like that. More inportantly, we can make judgement on whether or not Ozawa Ichiro is worth a politician.
The news says it seems Kan will win in party vote. I'm dubious Kan will continue to be the party head. Ozaa san will do anything to keep his political life long enough to destroy Japan.
>>21 I don't think so. The analysis news agencies conducted isn't reliable. Remember what they said concerning the election 2months ago. They thought the Democratic Party would win, and the result? Ozaa san will do anything to win. He would blackmail voters.
I don't like Ozawa, nor Kan. I don't want Hatoyama to be back in power as well.
>>41 It is said that Honoka, the daughter of Takaaki Ishibashi,is good at English . Which is good speaker ? Honoka or Red West ? Incidentally her face is unattractive
Japanese English learners including me make a lot of mistakes when they write English. So the answer to your question is NO.
But no one can improve their English without making mistakes. My obserrvation is that Japanese English learners are not accustomed to write English while they spend more time on reading.
So this thread is a good place to try writing English. Just jump in without being afraid of making mistakes. It's hard to distinguish(it's almost impossible to distingusih unless you are an exteremely advanced English learner)but some people here a native English speakers, so their English is natural,I think.
Oshio will be not responsibility-for-protection person abandonment but a responsibility-for-protection person abandonment-resulting-in-death crime. His action immediately after an incident is doubtful.
I heard that there was a drug that has value as much as 1 billion yen I don't know about died woman though. his friends are korean. which either pachinco owner or keyperson of meat industry. A typical korean industory. you know. its not a small incident at all. its a big incident. and Oshio is bad guy and korean actually.
>>66 I heard that Oshio is a direct descendent of the man who executed Anne Boleyn in 1536. In addition to this, it is said that Oshio is able to intelligibly communicate with both birds and freshwater crocodiles.
rumor? its more clear than it. Oshio is 3rd generation of korean who lives in Japan. where he got the drug from was korean yakuza. a tool musician cant buy such big amount of drug. yakuza own japanese TV society. there are many korean who most japanese doesnt realize. just like Sakai Noriko's father was former korean. her father is head of one of yakuza company. her brother was arrested because drug trade. her uncle is in jail now because murder.
Oshio's responsibility-for-protection person abandonment was decided. It is important whether prosecutors can prove to a responsibility-for-protection person abandonment-resulting-in-death crime.
How do you guys like "How do you like Wendnesday?"?
I was surprised to see that the videos of the show were available on the international flights. A cuntry boy from Hokkaido is going global with such a low-budget show is really amazing. We could call it a Cinderella story or Japanese dream?
It is the good temperature which is comparatively easy to pass today, isn't it ? I'm going to take a walk to the Junk Dou of Yoshimoto holl at Nipponbashi .
>>97 I work at a convenience store. So, when I am at this part-time jobs, I have to fry freezed karaagekuns and pack them. This work is not so hard. I got a good job for a university student like me.
Talking of convenience store there is an important recitation example. It has been only a week since I began a part-time job at a convenience store, but I'm already used to it .
Oshio is also doing the cover-up of the incident. Seemingly, a criminal code top will not be in charge of destruction of evidence. Even so, Oshio is a dirty fellow as as a reasonable creature as it is not believed.
>>113 I am bad at writing and reading. but I believe my hearling is better than it. my methods was 1. watch enlish subbed movie. 2. memory score of english and japanese into head 3. watch movie again 4 repeat 1.
and finally, when you feel its time, watch no subbed movie.
I have also seen most quantity of DVD. I think that listening comprehension was also extended with some. Furthermore, I resumed English study for the purpose of making progress.
The news says that 20 thousand people elected Arashi as the best artist this year, but I'm against it. Sure, they are good performers, but I don't think they sing well. Plus they don't compose music and write lyrics.
To English speaking people here who have no clues.
You (and us in Japan)experienced access denial some days ago. You may have noticed it but the threads in English board is far less in number than before even after English board can be browsed.
As you can see URL includes "kamome" and as far as I know, Some 2chan boards ingluding English board that run on "kamome" server all experienced the same thing. This didn't happen to the other boards that doen't run on "Kamome" server.
This accident was caused by human error and all threads on Kagome server are gone. The threads you can read now was all made after this accident. Hence, posts in each thread now isn't many.
Anyway it's not sure all the threads and posts before can be restored althuogh it's said they'll try to do so. It's said it will take at least 10 days or so even if they'll succeed.
I'm not good at explaining things in English. Plus, I don't know much about technological side of Internet or servers etc. But I hope this post will help you understand what happened.
I bought a bluray "Alice in woderland" though I felt something OLD from its English. I dont know why. maybe the old novel can be cause. and most of them were very hard for me. some were compleately ununderstanable.
>>146 It's consistently been around 17-21ºC here for the past two months, which is really just right. Air conditioners are a rarity here and are usually only found in cars. Both Russia and Japan have been having heatwaves this summer, but Russia's is finally over.
>>145 I can imagine the book itself would be a difficult read for someone not used to the language. It doesn't help having loads of made-up words used throughout the story either.
>>142 Thanks - wasn't really sure what happened. Became suspicious after a day and a bit of my 2ch reader picking up no new replies to 144.
>>147 Seemingly, It will become severe cold this winter. Does the cold already approach in Russia? Since cold can be kept off in winter if dressed warmly, the worries about electric power cost are unnecessary.
It is not too much to say that Oshio is guilty . When her condition changed, he should have called the ambulance. It is quite obvious that he did not call an ambulance intentionally. Nothings for which he is made into a responsibility-for-protection person
abandonment-resulting-in-death crime are difficult things.
Speaking of air conditioner, there was one thing that I was surprised by. That is intense power of heater that European car equipped with.
I owned the car made in Germany few years ago. During summer time in Japan, as often said at those days, cooling power of the air conditioner was slightly poor, on the other hand heater was absolutely strong. In spite of winter time, that was hot to death.
As you can see, Euro countries are located in more northern side than Japan. They say that if the heater break down in winter time, that endanger their lives.
so those car have two control lines of heater in preparation for breakdown.
>>148 Even though the average daytime temperature was soaring just two weeks ago in Moscow, the temperature is now lower than in the UK. Last year's winter was one of the worst they've ever had, plummeting to around -35ºC on some days. The difference between peak summer and peak winter temperatures is almost 100º. Thankfully in the UK, we're used to warmer winters and cooler summers.
>>156 Though air conditioning is a rarity, most houses have a central heating system consisting of a boiler (usually in or near the kitchen), a thermostat, and several radiators. Some houses have gas fires installed in place of a traditional fireplace (some law to do with not being allowed to emit smoke from chimneys at certain times, or something). And some people buy halogen or other electric heaters in case of a colder-than-usual spell of weather. Most modern houses here have double walls, meaning that cavity-wall insulation is normal too, trapping extra heat during the winter and keeping it cool during the summer.
>>160 It was founded by Polish immigrants in New York - the name was made up to trick Americans into thinking it was Danish, as Denmark was thought to have superior milk at the time. The name actually has no meaning at all. Though they do make nice ice cream.
In general, what you said is true of all of imported cars.
Regarding maintenance cost, German cars are not especially expensive unless you meet with unusual malfunction. Ordinary maintenance cost is as same as Japanese cars. But the problem is that German cars are more likely to get those problems than Japanese cars. In that case, the repairing cost tends to quite expensive. Believe it or not, you can easily get Japanese A-segment car by repairing cost.
You know some people died of eating too much icecream at once. They died of shock due to sudden lowering of body temperature. Sad.
But then, the fatter woman of Mamas and Papas died when eating ham sandwiches, Elvis Presly die of eating too much donuts and George Bush choked on prezzels......
>>171 A certain change is occurring on the earth level gradually ,isn't it ? It seems that the phenomenon of abnormal weather has happened for several years.
foods are cheaper than Japan in the US. for example. Haagen Dazs. 6 pints Japan 5000 Yen (1USD = 84JPY about 60 $) US avarage 50$ we can expect that its more cheap in the local.
if we have that price in here, I could eat more. its worth to die.
>>182 The largest it can be bought here, is in 500ml (0.88 pints) tubs. If you consider 6.82 of these as 6 pints, they cost £4 per tub. This would total £27.26 for 6 pints, so 3520円, or $41. I can't believe something is so comparatively cheap here, so I'm guessing I messed up the calculation somewhere.
>>180 It's still unsure whether the change is natural or not. Even though it's been several years, it's still just a very short spike when compared to the total amount of time the planet has been around. Still, there is change. The weather is changing the route of the Gulf Stream, a warm Atlantic current that passes by the UK, and this has a direct affect on British weather. We had our coldest recorded winter last year, which threw the country into chaos.
>>185 Surely decision is impossible. Moreover, the weather may return to ordinary climate. This climate may only be coming to the cycle of such climate on global revolution now.
foods of Japan depends on import. and economy of Japan depends on export. government gives priority to export. so, Japanese must pay more money for foods than other country's people.
The broadcasting station has not been doing the interesting TV program recently. I only turn on television instead of cure for drowsiness, and the sound has erased. They are only the programs which understand what the performers have said generally.
Arashi has a lot of programs. They are appearing on Nippon Television today. Probably, they are the most popular in Johnys. Akanishi or Kame is completely useless.
even the native speaker too. if they don't teach something about the language while they look down our Engrish, they dont have any value in here. only annoying. useless.
why I am here? because to be first example of stupid. It is usually said that "no shame, just talk". but as a fact. native and some clever(at least they think they are) attacks them. there is a reason why most Japanese couldn't even try to speak English. A double standard. if I name it.
>>146 It has been over a week, I haven't been able to post or read on thi sboard.
Looks like i have not missed out on any feverish Kamenashi discussion
wwww
However from what I read, we do not hear any gossip on the KamexKyon romance any more... there was so much tension in that love story. Now this 19 year old girl and Kame is just not a good match at all. Kame has gone from one end of the age spctrum to the opposite end. His chronophilia has reversed... Btw I am listening to Shinee, the Korean boy band. They are really talented.
If they were in Japan Johnny's would have recruited them.
In Japan, what is generally called ice cream is classified into several category by a certain ministry. They distinguish ice cream on a included butterfat and some conditions bases. Unfortunately, many ice creams that we can usually see at grocery store is not classified as ice cream technically.
Those ice creams are called "rakuto ice". I don't know how to spell this word in English. But I guess, this word maybe derive from Latin.
On this point, Haagen Dazs is truly ice cream. The difference in those ice creams are relatively distinguishable unless you have dull sense of taste.
Haagen Dazs is too expensive to buy daily? If you think so, I recommend you "Pino". URL is as follows. http://www.pinoice.com/
Pino is ice cream as well as Haagen Dazs and is sold for about a hundred yen at grocery store. If you come across a sale price at grocery store, you can buy it for under ninety yen.
>>215 I'm guessing that 'rakuto ice' could translate as 'lacto ice', with lacto being derived from Latin 'lac', which means milk (but not necessarily cream).
I like "premium coffee" of McDonalds because it's cheap and good taste. Starbacks's coffee is too expensive but If I want to rest quietly their place is more confortable than Mcdnalds
I have not drunk the coffee of Starbucks. Although it is said often that the coffee of McDonald's is unsavory, I do not think so. It is wrong to ask McDonald's for a coffee skill etc. Incidentally I like Doutor Coffee.
FYI, Kyonkyon and her ex-husband are going to costar a movie. I believe there's a good chance they will go out again, meaning Kame and Kyonkyon broke up completely.
I think that is probably true because as a foreigner you are not expected to be able to pronounce it very well. Besides, most people are too busy to bother about such things.
I saw him again the other day. He was crossing the road, looking left and right, anxiously. Even from a distance away his beautiful eyes are his distinct feature. I recall when were chatting I could see a trace of green-yellow in his eyes. I had never seen Japanese people with that trait before. The way he looked vulnerable...I think my heart skipped a beat. He will be leaving soon. Should I .... or should i not... what would he think of me?
How can Japanese have green-yellow eyes. We have dark, dark brown, brown eyes but it's impossible to have such color in our/Asian eyes unless they wear color contact lenses.
Maybe you watched the sun directly for quite a long time and your sense of color recognition went numb at that time.
You should take an action so that you won't regret later. I'm looking forward to singing "COOL TAK" at your wedding reception. Need to find 5 or 6 female dancers. Better place a classified ad somewhere on the net.
Watch this video. It's kind of funny. They sit too close side by side. Who wants to sit next to a man so close if you're a man? Maybe it's just me but judging from the facial expression of the man on the left(not Japanese man), he looks kind of uncomfortable and annoyed.
>>298 he looks gorgeous but she looks so ordinary. there is no air of dignity around her. She has no regard to Japanese customs of not showing affection in public. >>296 that is very hard to find out. I did not see any rings on his hand but, such a handsome and intelligent man is surely a no. 1 bachelor in Japan. If I approached him, I am afraid some Japanese woman fan would find me and make sashimi out of me.
>>298 he looks gorgeous but she looks so ordinary. there is no air of dignity around her. >>311 >but she looks so ordinary. I don't agree with you. She is on the beautiful end on beauty scale. >there is no air of dignity around her.
Yes, I agree with you. Although I think she's beautiful, she's just beautiful with no air of dignity. But still, Good for one night stand. Do I want to go out with her, you may ask? No, but she's good as a sex friend.
>She has no regard to Japanese customs of not showing affection in public Yeah, as they say, when in Japan, do as the Japanese do. She is in any way not in a position where she can force American way of physical conatact when in Japan. ---------- Haha, sashimi
Is he a twenty year old exchange student and you 40 year old woman? If he has a particular fetish for women in that age, then he may have shown interest.
>>318 I bet it's much more expensive than UCC or Nescafe instant coffee. If starubucks' instant coffee is in the same price range with those of UCC and Nescafe, I'll definately buy it.
I'd buy caramel taste of Starbucks instant coffee.
I have never given any thought to what Kame Girl is like. Is she that scary? Come to think of it, there's almost nothing about her that's particularly like fangirls. I don't know. But I felt that she just liked Kame and Kyonkyon relationships rather than Kame himself.
That's why she mentioned Kyonkyon many times in the past? She cared about Kyonkyon because she's been interested if Kyonkyon will be successful in getting a young boy?
Watch the video above. While he looks uncomfortable in >>284, and looks like he wanted the video filming to finish as soon as possible, this time, on the other hand, he looks comfortable and looks like he's listening to her more eagerly.
「バイクは好きだね。っていうよりも、バイクが俺を求めてる」 they love me rather than I love bike 「特技は、男泣き」 my special skill is a crying bitterly 「アメリカ生まれ、日本育ちの俺は、日米をつなぐ橋になる」 I was born in US, I grew up in Japan. It is said that today is a day of conclusion of a trial of Oshio's trial. I am interested in Oshio's conclusion of a trial rather than an election of the Democratic Party.
>>332-335 Yeah, indeed. Very good translations. They really reflect his personality. I expecially liked 'Japyon' and '3 thins are needed'. They kind of remind me of the phrases by the retired boxers, namely Gatz Ishimatu, Wajima and Gushiken.
>>339 Oshio first tried to talk his manager into being a suspect with all the charges for him so the authorities wouldn't get to him, and of course that didn't work out plus made him look like a complete scumbag loser to begin with. What a dumbass.
Criminal investigation is negative. It seems that it is difficult to ask a criminal code top to responsibility-for-protection person abandonment resulting in death.
Koran-burning planned by american pastor is big issue and great concern worldwide. But south korean protester had already burnt Koran. Suprisingly no musulim nation or person reacted it.
Ozawa is half korean. or pure korean. at least he is not pure Japanese. he and Hatoyama made DPJ. Hatoyama's wife was born in China. and All his secretary are korean. Ozawa's secretarys are korean too. 30% of DPJ menber are korean. except korean who got japanese citizenship. korean residents can not be a politican of Japan. but they can participate to DPJ. majority of the politician whom Ozawa made is Korean or Chinese. for example. Yamaoka is pure Korean. vice minister of agriculture Yamada is former Chinese. Yamada own his farm. he has a plan to grow chinese cow in Japan. but Japan couldnt import chinese cow because of foot-and-mouth disease in China. but somehow. its a big COINCEDENCE. foot-and-mouth disease was generated in Japan. at the same time as his assuming the position of the minister.
>>336 Oshio is famouse for his words. He was trying to look himself bigger and more important than her actually is. When 2channelers listened to his words like those, they went like, who does he think he is!? He sure is good looking and was a popular to a certain extent among girls, starring a drama, releasing CDs and all that but his words are kind of funny because he thinks he's a star himeself or hero or something.
As you know 2channelers are very good at making fun of celebrities under the umbrella of anonymity so Oshio became a target of 2channelers' teasing. Some of his words are what he really said in the past but some were fabricated by 2channelers to make fun of him, just for lolz. I, and I believe most of 2channnelers, too, don't know which words he actually said in the past.
You can imagine how 2channnelers got excited about the news of his arrest on the charge of drug possesion or use or something. He gave a pill to a woman before sex and she died becasue of the illegal drug. After his arrest and over the course of the investifation, it turned out that he is just a coward man, trying to pass the back of his criminal act to his manager in his talent afency tring to escape from criminal charges. His arrest and the way he put a crime on the innocent manager of his provided another lol for 2channelers.
Some of his words indicated as if he was a man in a million a real man or whatever but every bofy has gotten to know he is just a chicken. That provide more lolz to 2channelers.
Over 90% of "Oshio quotes" are fabricated. He even commented on how ridiculous some of them are. But people believe them because they are funny, and they seem like something he would say.
「ダメだ、ダメだ、Bプランを考えてくれ」 "no no we need plan B" when he called his manager and manager told him that he should call ambulance.
「救急車は考え付かなかった」 "I didnt think about ambulance"
元国会議員の知人に『119番しろ』と言われてない」 "I wasn't told that I should call ambulance from my former politican friend." but that former politician testified about it. and that politician is Ozawa's apprentice. which former Korean.
「オレ、変態だから。自分のチンコが欲しいか」 "I am pervert. I meant it as penis" because he wrote a email to woman. "are you want it right now?"
I think Oshio would use drugs in his teens and that drived him to say those delusive things. tho' most of his words might be fabricated, his behavior make me feel as if he actually said.
After all how long is he gonna be in prison? Im kinda curious about what kind of legend he is going to make there. Maybe beat a lot of Yakuza men, and be a head of prisoners. I cant wait to hear that.
>>393 we will never know. It is a matter between him and his boss.
>>313 This is interesting. So if there is no dignity in her, she is one night stand material eh? Could it be a reflection of your own self worth? Who wuld want a one night stand with someone who has no dignity?
>>314>>315 No nothing like that. He is younger but not that young!
322>>324>> No, I like Kyon Kyon a lot, since I saw her in the Manhattan Love Story drama, then anaother drama where she ran of with a lot money from her office. She has that incredible confidence of a woman who live her life freely. She is really awesome. It is just that they have good chemistry. Instead of Akame (AkanishixKame0 here we have Kyonkame.Cute...
>>322 I don't think so. I like them both. Do you think I am scary ? what makes you say that I am different?
>>395 Go make your own blog. You're totally missing the point of anonymous boards like 2ch. Noone wants to hear about ME ME ME ME ME on an anonymous board.
>>397 That's right. Since many of you here can write English why not make your accounts on English web sites? You can talk to many English native speakers as well as people from all over the world.
>>398 I wonder if he really can speak English like native spekars. According to him his English is better than Japanese so when he thinks he usually thinks in English.
Oh! I need to take a shower and dye my haire today.
My mom is doing the laundry so I have to wait dyeing my hair until she finishes the laundry since I need to use the bathroom where she is doing that.
By the way, some people here on this board really piss me off (I mean not people in this thread but other threads ). They are jealous and mean and attack other people easilly if they don't like the people's idea.
I just have assumed that since they are making such rude comments on other people in Japanese they won't bother the theread like this because I don't think they would be able to attack someone in English here.
Well, sorry if I sounded arrogant or stuck up myself,it's just my rant.
talking about pubic hair, i don't understand why it's normal for girls to shave it in the US. (But i like the fact that people in the US care about deodorant and antiperspirant)
Europe seems to be different, though I don't know for sure.
>>395 Because women with dignity don't do one night stand in the first place. DO they? A woman with no dignity can be an easy woman. Men think with their penis not with their brain, as as long as a woman (like the woman in the vid) has nice body and attractive, it's more than welcome to sleep with her.
Dignity in woman doesn't come at the top of the list when it comes to one night stand.
>>420 I wash my partner's pubic hair with shampoo and she loves it. If you call me I'm pervert because of the act, it's just that you haven't go out with boys/girls.
>>423 I'm not >>420 but I would punch my boyfriend if he wants to do it to me, but you know what? he likes the way I am because he thinks I'm very shy and it's cute. I'm glad that at least he is not a pervert like you who say dirtythings in public. I mean if my boyfriend say someting like what you have said to other women,I would puch him twice.
>>426 You mean my boyfriend? Well,he loves me more than I love him so he is patient and that's how it works. I know I shouldn't be so tight but unfortunately I don't have much sex-drive so he tald me that I need to see a docter seriously.
Awww,I don't want to talk about this any further...
During a Live in a music TV program, Oshio dived into the audience seat. But they didn't receive him, so he fell on floor!!!!!!!!!!!!! How stupid he was!!!!!
Actually, Oshio is a good looking guy and I think if he had been more humble or decent, he could have been a good acter, but I can not imagine his being a decent person especially after this incident.
I have read on the internet that it seems he is planing to go to America or Spain if he was not guilty and released and he would try to start his career there all over again. I don't know if it really works for him since he was using drugs for sure.
Oh well, he was just too arrogunt so he deserves it.
>>453 Aww...you are so hursh. I thought this thread was supposed to be the place where people can practice their English and get used to it even if it doesn't make any sense.
Also some people who are actually not using the translator would be discouraged as well.
>>458 I know they are popular among OTAKU fan girls in Europe, right?.
Those OTAKU fan girls read manga and watch anime so they got intrested in other Japanese things like J-pop and J-drama. I can tell from what I have seen on English web sites.
>>460 I like K-on too,it's so cute. It reminds me of when I was in high shcool.
I have spent so much time here since this morning and I'm getting tired now. I was upset this morning but I feel much better talking to peope here because it was fun and funny. Even though some of you got annoyed by me,I want to say thank you for your patience.
I'm not sure if you are asking me the question or not...
I have no idea about Tegomasu at all since I'm not into music so I can not tell their actual popularity in Europe.
Just what I know is OTAKU girls like Japanese misic and idols through anime and manga. I have seen those fan girls on English websites which related to Japanese culture.
If I visited music websites, maybe I could see their popularity among hard core music fans in Europe if they are really popular.
>>458 No, I don't think so. Johnny's are not that popular outside Asia. European girls are more interested in mascular macho men basically except for emo girls who like Visual kei.
>>472 That's a good news for those who care about older threads, though, I'm not one of them. I don't go to any language schools and will not in future. I might take english tests, but deed info on this board. And, I don't care how bad english teachers are in Japan.
How can Akanishi be successful in America? He'll fail there and have no place left in Japan. His first concert accomodated only 2000 people, while more than 10,000 people gathered in each Kat-tun live in Korea and Taiwan. Which is the winner?
>>480 No, that's not what I meant. Many people on this board seem to complain about Many English teachers in school are Japanese, and believe that the reason why Japanese are bat at speaking in English. I partially agree with that opinion, but oh well, who cares?
Aussies are fine with me. Their English sounds odd to me, but mine is much worse than that.
Porn should be banned.Porn deprives not only woman but also our society of dignity and vitality. I think that is the one main cause of declining birth rate in my country.
>>508 Why do you think that the low birth rate is a problem? In my opnioin, ban for porn industry does not compatible with serious consideration of raising birth rate. Giving women the choice for not having babies comes with giving them choice to work in sex industry.
cause of low birth. honestly? is DPJ. they gives economical support to foreigner(mainly korean and chinese) while Japanese citizen go to starve to death. this country is sick. because of cancer that evil humans.
JAXA's first solar sail project name IKARUS was successed. every sailing action was functionable. at same time, this is the first ahivement of human being.
Akanishi isn't active now to the best of my knowledge. His next concerts in America are going to be conducted soon though. Guess not that many fangirls are there in America so he'll sure fail.
>>529 well. NASA also tried it last year. but was failed. and there is no country where made solar sail ship except Japan and USA. so IKARUS is the FIRST solar sail space ship from the earth.
>>395 said >>Because women with dignity don't do one night stand in the first place. DO they? A woman with no dignity can be an easy woman. Men think with their penis not with their brain, as as long as a woman (like the woman in the vid) has nice body and attractive, it's more than welcome to sleep with her. Dignity in woman doesn't come at the top of the list when it comes to one night stand. >> So men are born to spread their genes, while women are supposed to choose the best genetic material. What if the best genetic material is available only for a short while and she is trying to get pregnant? Let us say there is a woman of dignity, and she knows that a prticular male would be the best gene donor, what should she do? Should he follow your socially enforced and obviously wrong concept of "dignity" and stay away? Or should she follow her instinct, reproduce and take responsibility of the consequences? You are confusing women who are after material gain with women after genetic gain in your argument. Since you have not considered this angle, your argument is clearly lacking and extremely biased. Open your mind and think deeper please.
>>549 I feel same. I have 100 MP. I used 1 point with Japanese in the battle. I used 10 point with English in the battle. It's powerful though. danger. might kill me. I can use it only 10 times. and each attack makes me tired badly.
Oshio will be in prison for nearly 8 years, unless he behaves nicely there. I have no idea what'll happen to him after that. You know Tashiro Masashi was captured yesterday for drug possesion, right? I'm half sure Oshio will go along the same way as Marcee. Drug users can't get rid of the bad habit so easily.
A crazy news. Okada of DPJ who did anti-Japan democracy at South Korea became Minister of Police. What a joke country. even her existance is already madness.
>>557 I don't know what you are talking about. Are you saying Korean people are going to be killed by Japanese and they really want it?? Why do Korean people want to be killed by Japanese without any doubt? I don't get it and you'd better watch your mouth.
We have to more worry about Chinese people would start to attack Japanese people in mainland China because of what happend last week. They are being so hostile to us while Chinese people in Japan are much safer and we are not hostile to them.
I think it's not fair that whenever Chainese people attack Japanese people they call it patriotism and anything is forgiven among them while when they are attacked by Japanese (we don't attack them in Japan often like they attack Japanese in their country though) they call it discrimination or imperialism. And doing such a thing is never allowed in Japanese society and it will be accused too.
>>560 They want to because. They can use it to propaganda that Japanese are recist. ofcouse Chinese is a biggest threat for Japan. but Korean are trying to take over Japan. the owner of most stupidest country in Asia. They can't defend or protect Japan. most worst case senario is here.
>>562 I wonder if >>557 was written by you or not, because it dousen't make any sense. Because while >>557 are saying that Korean people want to be killed by Japanese, you are saying that Korean people are trying to take over Japan.
Actually what you are saying sounds like you are saying that Japan is the stupidest country in Asia and Korea is trying to take over it.
I have mentioned before in this thread that this thread shoud have been the place that anyone can practice his/Her English and get used to it and no one should be discouraged.
Kame should be punished for getting girls to fall in love with him. The name for his punishment is love penalty. He should be locked in Kame girls house for 3 years.
Another crime Kame commits is he makes girls nose bleed. Because of his innocent smiles, many kame girls lost some of their blood. He deserves to be locked in kame girls house for 5 years for the crime.
>>588 DPJ is Korean organization that was made by Ozawa and Hatoyama. by using stupidest Japanese like Hatoyama and Kan. Korean couldn't set pure Korean to prime minister of Japan in the first place. but They will do it soon. They can control stupid Kan. Hatoyama has even mental problem.
media is also dominated by korean pachinko money. and workers of tv station are so stupid and corrupted that they are honey trapped by korean agent. that's why korean singers are flooded into japan. it's absolutely disgusting.
>>588 I'm Japanese in the US. And, yeah you're right. I am obviously procrastinating.
I am sort of regular here. This is the only place I do not have to worry about grammatical errors I make when I'm writing english.
Starbucks wi-fi is fine. Several month ago they lifted a stupid restriction on wifi which was 3-hours-per-day. Now it's free all day (though I do not spend that much time here usually). Wi-fi quality is not bad as well. When I download something the speed is 150-250k.
there is nothing in South Korea. yakuza money feed them. Pachinko(gambling). illegal bank. swindle. they uses Japanese techs without patent. if Japan ruin, South Korea ruin. but they cant understand it. because stupidest. they think that they can exist without Japan.
i'm 592 not 591 594. this thread has some anti korean posters along with me. there are so many korean hater growing entire japan due to korean wave fabricated by stupid and corrupted mass media. it's a good thing less people waching tv recently. i hope they'll die as well as some lawmaker who also honey trapped by korean agent.
thee are no cafes, cinemas.. all we have is a Japanese channel showing Kame 24/7.
I am dying of nosebleeds. However If you don't have nose, you cannot have nose bleeds. They don't have nosebleeds on Venus because liquids just vanish in the heat within seconds.
>>598 I am a researcher at a university. My area of speciality is social sciences. That's the reason why I have time to spend at coffeeshops in the morning.
Life is good here. I like a lot of stuffs in japan, food, culture, etc.. I definitely miss them, but research (or probably working in general) environment is way much better here. The biggest difference is that doing good research directly connects with your evaluation (like promotion, salary, and university you are at). That helps me with keep my mental stability. Just keep working and publishing, that's the only way to get a better place.
You are asking such impossible things. Tenderness is a product of give-and-take. I don't know you nor Kame personally, so how can you have such expectations?
Do you think I am like Mother Theresa? give and give and give... what happens if a person gives and gives there will be no more energy in that person. She would be a living dead
>>606 Thank you for your answer. Does that mean you give lectures to sutudents?
Do you observe how customers behave in Starbucks for your area of study?
You have an ambition to reaserch at top notch universities, such as IVY league? I heard that different from Japanese uni, it's not about uni's name value that counts in US. I mean, sometimes some departments of some state university is better than the counterparts of IV league uni.
I've watched 3movies lately. First, "Split the difference" is documentary film of Mr,Children, one of Japanese popular and famous rock bands. The movie was so good for freaks(including me) of them. In espe- cially, the scene that JEN who is drumer of the band stamping rapidly was interesting. And I was pleased with getting an invitation card given all guests came to The Globe Tokyo where was held the concert, Split the difference.
But, the second movie I watched was so crap and made me angry... It was "BECK". The movie is based on the comics by the manga artist, Harold Sakuishi. And the cast was so luxurious. Hiro Mizushima, Takeru Sato, Kenta Kiritani, Osamu Mukai etc. But, all I wanna emphasize is "Why didn't you depend on Sato?" namely, I wanna know why Sato's vocal wasn't audible in the scenes of that BECK plays on the stage. All though Sato was trained hard by Kutsuna before they play on the Greatful Sound's stage, his vocal wasn't audible after all ... huh? So, the movie was so crap, if you wanna watch it, I do wanna recommend to you not to watch it in theater and wait for being released it as DVD or Blu-ray.
Finally, it was "Akunin" including Satoshi Tsumabuki, Eri Fukatsu who has got a best actress award at the 2010 Montreal World Film Festival lately. What great their performance were! When the movie came to the end, I near cried for a long time. I do wanna recommend to everybody! (By the way, how many people including me remember the contes of "Baka-tono" or "Daijyobuda" with Ken Shimura and couldn't stop chuckling when saw Akira Emoto?)
When I heard the news Masashi "God" Tashiro was arrested again, I wondered if he wanted to write the continuing story of his autobiography, Shinpan. Anyway, he is just a disabled person can't stop using drags. So, even if he is re- leased from jail someday, he will do that again and again...
Oshio got a judgement of the term in prison of 2 years and 6 months, didn't he? His insistence about who gave her a drug was not approved, but the relation of his not having called an ambulance soon and the possibility that the dead would not have needed to be killed if he did so, was considered too weak for what he did being judged as the cause of her death. Isn't any possibility that prosecutors would file an appeal to the upper court, preparing for enough proofs supporting their insistence?
Apparently, this thread lacks a fresh dose of romance it used to have, and that's why things are pretty obsolete here. This will work for brain-damage as well as nosebleed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WymWv863krs
>>642 Yes!prosecutors are going to file an appeal also . Moreover, I think that they should do so. If it is not responsibility-for-protection person abandonment resulting in death but responsibility-for-protection person abandonment, the five-year highest year may be sufficient. First of all, even if responsibility-for-protection person abandonment resulting in death is materialized, I think that it is not wrong.
>>651 Tell me how you got to know this thread. Don't tell me via 4chan.
Girl from England reminds me of a 18 year old girl I once did cyber with. She said she wore Winnie the Pooh pajama. I made her really wet just by throwing horney words.
As long as 2ch is Japanese board, usually you don't guess there's any threads where posts are written in English. You sort of hit Jackpot.
Tell me to what extent do you think you are weeaboo? You add "ne" in every sentense and every ten seconds you say "Kawaii?"
Gotta go and have dinner. Keep coming back and enjoy this thread. if you type >> followed by number of post you want to talk to, you can make a link to the particular post.
In this case, I'm talking to you so I type >>653. If you click >>653 in my post, you are directed to post number >>653.
This way, it's easy for you to know who's talking to who if you know what I mean.
stop saying such things, it is not cheering me up. Say that it will be a lovely winter, the sun will shine, there will be snow. Say nice things please. >>647 what makes you think she will accept your dishonourable intentions?
>>641 It is said that King Alfred the Great is the ultimate ancestor of all Koreans, so in that case, yes, I am Korean. If you study British history, you'll see all sorts of links. William the Conqueror was also a master chef and created what is known today as 'Kimchi', which is derived from the French language. Similarly, James Watt founded the company 'Samsung' in 1775.
>>645 A former colleague from work wanted to stay overnight, last Wednesday, so we could watch foreign films. I tried to convince him to watch a movie with Hirosue in, but couldn't. Instead, we watched Tokyo Gore Police, Tokyo Gore School, Princess Blade, and Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl. They were all pretty terrible. It could have been avoided if he'd just said 'yes'.
>>636 Is Akunin out on DVD yet, or only at theatres?
On an unrelated note, there's a good Russian author called Boris Akunin who writes detective novels which are set in the mid 1800's, mainly in Russia. At one point in the series, the detective becomes a diplomat and travels to Japan, where he masters the art of jūjutsu. It can be a bit whimsical at times, but is a good series.
>>イギリス人 and all Since you seem to be an internationally-oriented gentleman, let me ask you a question.
Maybe, you've ever heard of "Naked News", a TV program where naked ladies broadcast daily news, first in uniform and then taking off their clothes until they are totally naked.
The problem is, however, the site seems to have moved somewhere else. Do you know where "Naked News" site has gone right now?
>>635 I'm back in Starbucks again :) No, I'm not teaching a class now. I have taught and will teach in future. I am a posdoc.
I usually don't observe people here. But, if I pick up some differences b/w Japan and the US. 1. average age of customers is higher. many of them are studying or working, though today is a bit different, cause it's saturday. 2. Most ladies who drink big, sweet drinks are fat. 3. They don't have "short" size coffee. 3 sizes are tall, grande, and venti.
As to my workplace, I probably do not have a chance to get a job at top schools, the realistic chance will be top 30-50 schools. I don't even want to be at top schools (e.g. IVY schools or good schools in the West Coast). Assistant profs there are under huge pressure for doing good research, and do not have any personal life. If you are super crazy about doing research then that's probably the happiest choice, but it's not the case for me. After many years for devoting my life to studying and researching, I am little tired of it. Research is still interesting, but I want to have appropriate work-like balance.
>>673 Did you google enough searching for the site?
Yes, I have heard of naked news and actually watched demos on the site before. (To get full access you need to subscribe and pay monthly fee or something if I remember correctly...) I think there is a male version of naked news for gays or women. Oh, and I think there's a Japanese women version, too. I don't know if they do Japanese version now.
I remeber I was kind of imressed with the women in Naked news not because of their bodies but their narration. They speak real fast withour being distracted by having to taking off their clothes one by one.
I guess Kame fan girl would say the they have no dignity with them and I agree with her. Their character or atomosphere is somewhat closer to that of porn stars.
>>674 You really love Starbucks. I don't know in US but Starbucks here costs much. All I can buy is a 120 yen canned coffee.
You said you are a researcher before but is it different from a professor? I don't know much about academic world. Have you seen someone using iPad in US? If you haven't, what about at your university? I'm under the impression that US university students and professors love iPhone, iPad and other apple devices more than Japanese people.
I didn't know that life of researchers are so tough. Is your field of study far advanced in US? What brought you US in the first place, if I may ask?
Their slogan is sort of funny: "Where men come first." - as if they are sexist or something. but then, I'm guessing they have no woman at all there who can come second anyway.
>>686 I'm indifferent. I surely do not oppose it, but do not have reason to actively support it either. If there is a referendum for that, I'll probably vote yes.
>>672 Now, Akunin is still only at theaters. So, please wait for being released it as DVD or Blu-ray if you wanna watch it on your DVD or Blu-ray player.
a headache, stomach ache, sinus ache, throat ache, shoulder ache, knee ache, achy all over due to a cold. Damp nights, rainy days, a disorienting breeze+overwork = recipe for a cold I know you will say, "I hope you die. " well I won't.
>>674 Do you mean you have never worked in a company as a full-time employee, and have spent all your life so fart in school? If that's the case, I must like to study a lot! And you must be on scholarship for doing pos-doc in the US, which means you are doing good research. Cool.
>>709 not really. i try not to learn that kind of stuff. as a jap learning english the range of expressions i can use is much smaller than that of native speakers, which mean that i don't have many alternative expressions, i want to say something. so, if i learn these nasty phrases, i will use them almost unintentionally in some occasions.
that's the thing i want to avoid. you'd laugh if you see someone barely speak japanese use dirty phrases, such as "テメーしばくぞ" or "ウゼエな、どっかいけよ."
>>720 You are talking about different persons. This two people are not the ones in your mind. These two are the ones who are mentioned often in another thread. They are ordinary people who use a web-based service that promotes International exchanges among users.
Didn't know that Arnold Shewartzneggar was in Japan to see Japane's cutting edge shinkansen bullet train system, while he promotes California wine.
Japan's competitors for winnging the governer's heart are German, France among a few more so that Japan's high speed railway system will be installed there in California.
>>724 Seems it'll be quite different to the first one. Dragon Age 2 only allows a human character, and will feature a dialogue system like Mass Effect 2's. Hopefully they won't try and make it too similar to the Mass Effect games, even though they were good.
>>701>>702 replies just as expected from you. that is exactly why you guys have a low birth rate. you show no paternal compassion in general. you display a cold, detached, supposedly manly face. this is why cute and affectionate Johnny's are so popular. I am not saying going pink and fluffy is the way to do it but, soften that hard working detached samurai attitude just a little. it makes you unapproachable.
>>728 What do you mean "you guys" and what does that have to do with a low birth rate? Of Japan? Are you racist? Yeah, you sound extremely racist. Die please.
>>730, Only those who are unable to argue in a logical and rational manner would resort to making shallow remarks like that. If you disagree, say it in a proper manner please, so that we understand you.
But in America, students who are active and making many shallow comments get better grades than the students who think deeper thus don't appear active in class.
>>732 do you not realise that this thread is NOT in America, nor in Japan, it exist on the internet and various users post to it from all over the world. Ther server just happens to be in the US, and the threads are mostly in Japanese. So forget what you have been thought and think for yourself please.
>>734 What you say has nothing to do with you making a racist remark. You don't even own up to it, which makes it even worse.
Might I add, you're hardly making any sense in >>734. 2ch is mostly in Japanese? Why? Please read the board rules here, and tell us what it says. The official BOARD rule, not some made up thread rule. This thread is for practicing posting in Englishanyways. Why are you here?
>>737 >that is exactly why you guys have a low birth rate.
If the "you guys" was just about two people, who did you have in mind when you directly followed it with "have a low birth rate"? You don't bring up birth rates unless you're talking about a race or region; a generic group of people. It never applies to just one or two people. So think who it was directed at.
>>738 own what? What IS a racist remark and why are you trying so hard to tie everything we say down to racism? are you a keen racist yourself? so are you saying that these threads are NOT mostly in Japanese? There are Japanese and other language threads, for example English, i.e. this thread. I am sorry I do not read Japanese, so please translate the BOARD rules, or point to it. What particular rule are you trying to point at? Explain please. Yes I am aware that this thread is for practising English, and that is exactly what I am doing! You seem to be one fully confused individual. You have to move out of this point and blame culture when you don't like other's opinions and argue properly so they learn from you. Flaming others like this does not change other's views or make a proper argument.
>>739 what has RACE got to do with a low birth rate? Nations have low or high birth rates. Stating a nation x has a low or high birth rate has NOTHING to do with racism, it is simply a statistical fact. before you go crazy with with anger, try to think calmly please. 1) A person is ill, and >>702 and >>703 told them to die. 2) the person takes it humourously, and ties "these guys'" behaviour down to a possible manifestation of the cold, disaffectionate face of SOME men from Japan. 3) The person ties their cold attitude, to parenting then down to low birth rate, simply because it made sense ! 4) This was to point out a trait noticed by that person through exposure to friends' families, other connections and the media. 5) there is nothing wrong with saying" hey loosen up a little, you are unapproachable!" 6) The person never realised you didn't have the maturity to pick up on this observation and counter argue, with a good sense of humour. How would a racist love Johnny's to death, date Japanese men and ADORE the country and culture ? I think it is YOU who owes an apology.
>>744 So what you're saying is; that we're all supposed to read into your unfunny jokes, and that you DID have the Japanese in mind when you said "you guys", but to relax, it was just a racist joke. Got it.
>How would a racist love Johnny's to death, date Japanese men and ADORE the country and culture ?
I can only assume, but maybe because you're rejected from your own culture and people? The same way many foreign men come to Japan and date Japanese women only. A good percentage of them are losers who would never get laid back home. It makes good sense because you're racist and probably think you'd be accepted in some exotic foreign land who you see as beneath you.
btw >>743 is not me, but I fully agree with him/her. And >>747 is not me either, before you go blabbing nonsense to 747.
so who is this johnnys lardass moron? this thread was good before this lardass came here. lardass ruined the thread. this is the result of not flipping out and killing lardass foreiners in vicinity at the drop of a spoon. time to go back to our principle. the way of the ninjas.
why does not Tokyo take strict measure? those crap have been saying fuckin bollocks even though they executed condemned Japanese. those creatures are really impudent. mind your fuckin own business.
>>748 You really have an inferiority complex. What makes you think I look down on you? You sound totally paranoid!(I am not saying you are!)
I am trying to discuss a possible reason for the low birth rate. Which happens to be based on males' behavioral habits. If you disagree, please explain why. Is it such an extreme taboo for you to discusss this? Jokes(a joke is not humour btw), racism, rejection, foreign losers in Japan etc etc has NOTHING to do with it.
>>674 I am a post doctoral researcher, sometimes teachings is a part of my duty but not for this semester.
I saw someone using iPad at the coffeeshop I was at. None of my colleagues has one either, though some of them have Amazon kindle. As a reading devise, it's much better. iPhone is way much popular though I don't have one. I just have iTouch. I want to own an iPhone, but I am not sure that I want to have that two-years contract. It's little too long considering my unstable employment situation. I don't think I would be out of money next year, but the chance I'm out of the US is not small.
The reason why I am in the US is because the style of research here is much different from Japan. They use statistics heavily and that's the type of research I want to conduct.
How bout you? Why are you studying English while you are in Japan?
>>704 So obviously I have never had a private/public sector job. A post-doc is a full-time job though. (One good thing about being in the US is they do not have a concept of "社会人". Accusing a person using such a loosely defined term is always annoying.)
I was thinking about getting an iPhone, but then I found out that I would have to make a contract with local phonecompany. It sucks. I heard that I could import one from UK, but the price still would be pretty staggering. I have been thinking about trying to learn Japanese again. Since I am now in a school full of weeaboos, I think learning might be easier.
Who invented the term "weeaboo" and why? Why would someone be automatically classified as a weeaboo if that person watches anime, eats natto or speaks Japanese? What is the equivalent term for those who adopt various aspects of other cultures; for instance;
If you are fond of Muumins, love the smoke sauna and Karjalaan Piirakka, would you be a Finnish Finnaboo? If you are fond of Tarkovsky, Rachmaninov and quote Tolstoy all the time are you a Russiaboo? If you are into boomerangs, barbies and Surfing and obssessed about Sydney subcultures are you an Austraboo? If you are into KPOP, Kdrama, kimchi are you an Koreaboo?
What is (1) wee (2)Boo, where do these come from, when they are put together what do they really mean in ENglish?
See, the assumptions on which you build your hatred of people adopting global subcultures gets really absurd at this point.
If someone loves my own culture with this obsession, I would welcome them and learn with them, things I take for granted, even if they get it wrong.
If I hate the people who love my culture, it means I don't think highly of my culture and have an inferiority complex. Therefore I hypothosise that the term weaboo was invented by Americans who have Japanophobia. Somehow Japan's dislike for foreigners (whihc is equally understandable)seem to intersect with this group's views, hence the enourmous hatred for the people who "fall" into this category. What do you think? Is this yet another taboo subject?
>>759 Kame does have a complex. He says he is small for baseball. But we think he is fine, he should not worry about it. He can play baseball very well.
The term came about as a wordfilter which replaced the word 'wapanese', which one could say is a portmanteau of 'white' and 'Japanese', and so a white person who attempts to take on the characteristics of Japanese, in a similar way to a 'wigger', which is a white person who is trying to take on the stereotypical characteristics of black people, usually African-Americans.
I'm not here to discuss the right or wrong of applying such terms, but just giving the background to the origins and connotations of such words.
>>763 BioWare themselves have said that the only race available is Human, and that it will follow Mass-Effect 2's dialogue system. The Mass Effect games were very good, but I really liked Dragon Age's dialogue system, as it seemed to give more scope and background to a conversation, rather than the short phrases you are able to choose on a dialogue wheel.
I believe that a weeaboo is one who takes their appreciation of Japanese culture too far. It's one thing to LIKE Japan, but here in the English-speaking countries, we get people who spend their days inserting random nonsencial Japanese into phrases (可愛い、 です are two stereotypical examples, although I have seen weeaboos/wapanese use 私 in the place of "I" or "me" when speaking in english.), watching pirated anime, eating Pocky like it's the only snack to ever come out of Japan, and collecting expensive anime stuff.
I listed some of the stereotypical weeaboo traits there.
There are some, like me, who LIKE Japanese culture but aren't obsessed with it. Eg. I like anime, Japanese food and Japanese language, but it doesn't dominate my life.
So basically a weeaboo is someone who's obsessed with Japan to the point of being annoying.
It will get hotter and hotter today also. It get hot, not to mention warmly. I was walking along the way yesterday also, I came to be alike unconsciously.
Today is last day of these 3straight holidays in Japan and my summer-vacation(As I'm a student of English of an university, so I have a long summer vacation).
>>760 If a person likes or is just fond of some culture, that is fine. But if a person is obsessed with it, especially subculture, people will see it. Obsessive people are pretty much psycho who have issues. So yes, if a person is seen as being obsessed with foreign subcultures they will be made fun of, because it is obvious they don't get it. It can be Finnish or Korean or whatever. Look at "wiggers". A white person who just likes black culture and music won't be called that.
So your talk about hatred and inferiority complex is way off, and that of taboo too. People don't talk about it because it's common sense and knowledge. And who wants to talk to someone lacking those things?
>>771 Far right movement is much weaker in Japan. there are lot of xenophobic conservatives in 2chan and nico-douga, but their movement have not resulted in any real political movement. most voters do not care about nationalistic issues. why that's the case?
Same as the jonnys talk. Noone but fangirls cares about that stuff, its a hated topic but fangirls dont have the courtesy not to talk about them. And trolls knowing it is a hated topic bring it up on purpose to mess the thread up.
>>775 That still does not explain what makes Japanese subcultures any different or more important than say Australian or Finnish. Say a person is fond of Finnish Black Metal, French cuisine and surfing, to the point of obsession, what do you call that person? FrinnoFrankoAustro-boo? It just demonstrates that such urban terms serves to enforce a certain belief about a group of people who are perceived different from the norm. No it does have a HUGE hatred and bias element, just search the net for weeaboo hatred and you will see the forums are brimming with discussion on that issue. Regarding the inferiority complex, just see the posts above. This guy says"if you like my culture, you are a loser". Amazing.
Just because you are not aware of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
>>768 the definition of a weeaboo is vague. Poeple use the term loosely. Be careful not to be called a weeaboo loser yourself. (at some point you will be)
>>767 Igirusu-san, thanks for the info but, I still cannot find the information on how this urban term was created and by whom. As a native speaker, could you guess? I looked up at some Old English sites to see if it has a history. If you look at its components separately it sounds as offensive as the whole term itself.
What's really annoying (to some people) about this hardcore janiota is not probably his/her weeabooness, though, given that this is basically a place where a bunch of clueless gaijin-maniacs and attention-seeking gaijins aimlessly mingle with each other. As a matter of fact, if you happen to be an English speaking caucasian, interested in some aspect of Japan/Japanese culture or anything Japanese for that matter, and feel like doodling about whatever you ate or watched yesterday, boom there you go, you automatically get a gaijin pass that won't expire for a lifetime and your 2ch life is secured; it's that easy. But this person, I must say, is just socially retarded and predisposed to not listen to or cooperate with others. There's no cure for selfishness.
It is a lovely day today! There is not a single cloud in the sky and the sun is shining. A slight chill in the air, a totally beautiful English autumn day.
Wow. Annoying. This is exactly why people hate janiwota, weeaboos and some even foreigners here.
Just because you are not aware you are something doesn't mean you aren't.
>>794 >But this person, I must say, is just socially retarded and predisposed to not listen to or cooperate with others. >There's no cure for selfishness.
I think you totally nailed it, and in a civil manner. Nobody has issues with other foreigners here. That fact alone should be a good enough hint.
It's an entire 2ch board for foreigners. Look up what a dejima is, and you'll see that. You can only post in 2byte characters, so Japanese, Korean Hungul(sp), and Arabic etc is banned and will come out as an error. If you're a foreigner who justs wants to post on 2ch to feel connected with Japan or whatever, go there. This thread is basically for Japanese to practice posting in English. I'm not saying all foreigners should leave, but if you're causing trouble even though that is not your intent, I think it's best for all parties that you kindly leave.
wow, yes, let's revoke her secure 2ch pass so that hateful, socially retarded, attention seeking Janiwota gaijin is banned from this thread forever. We hate her with all our heart, the very air she breathes annoys us. She is not willing to cooperate or listen to us so let's persecute her to annihiliation.
Some foreigners should leave. Janiwota is the worst. She doesn't shut up when she is told to, Only foreigners who listen to us and cooperate with us should stay. They should learn when ti shut up, what to say and what not to say. I am all for auto censorship!
>>800-802 this is why you are so despised here. you really dont get it do you?
imagine a loud obnoxious person on a bus or a train. some people try to shush that person but that person starts ranting about censorship and freedom of speech/expression. That loud and obnoxious person is you.
you blame everyone but yourself. there really is no cure for selfishness.
I told you we should ban her pass as you said! Do you know how to do that? yes let's ban this selfish, socially retarded, obnoxious person forever becuse she doesn't shut up. Besides she doesn't blame her self. What a shameless person. Every gaijin should blame themselves for not cooperating with others. and not shutting up when they are told to. They should be publicly humiliated, and paraded as an example to other gaijins. Besides she is too loud!! I am deafened...
>>791 The term in the comic came first, and had no connection whatsoever to the concept of 'wapanese'. It came about as a wordfilter. For example, if 2ch had wordfilters coded into it, it could pick up, say, any instance of the word 'English', and would change it so it said 'apple'. In the same way, whenever accused someone of being 'wapanese', it changed it to 'weeaboo'. I should probably mention this was on the 4chan imageboards. Sometimes we would just add random, commonly used words to the wordfilters just to confuse people.
>>828-829 A couple centuries ago, 'English' was used to describe anyone in the British Empire, even the Scottish, Welsh, Australians. But now we use 'British'. These days, if someone is 'English', then they specifically come from England. Ireland is a separate country, though, so they are Irish. But Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom, so they are British.
>>837 If you want to curse something, you'd better be good at that language, otherwise you'll be like a korean guy protesting in front of our parliament house with a sign of "反省しる." You are exactly like that now.
Just now I have found this thread and read your chatting. I feel exciting. To being good at English, I have thought that I must studing English very hard continusly day by day. But now I understand that what I should do to be a good English speaker is enjoying English , not working hard . Thank you for this thread and members.
>>866 is a good example. She feeds it herself and is pretty much asking to be flamed and hated. Can't just walk away, has to have the last word. It's kind of sad. She's not important, but her sense of self importance makes her continue to reply.
>>882 I found it in a essay .and investigated it in the dictionary. Although it had come out that it is a title of a movie, since it was not satisfactory, I visited here .
In the UK drugstores are called chemist's, we don't have the term used here. May be a native speaker like Igirusu-san can explain it better. There are lots of terms that are specificially American, and they are not used in colloquial English. I wish the world would speak English-English. As a learner, I find it mucheasier to understand. Except for the dialects.
>>868 she is indeed cute, but is she really a vegetable? >>870 I want to see your beautiful face. Do you have beuatiful eyes? Show us and be famous. >>867 it is you who insists on flaming persistently. You are an extremely rude and vulgar person. You condescend yourself to such levels by insisting people submit to your wishes. I wish your wife and children patience, if you have any. I do hope you reflect on your behaviour and try to be a bit more mature.
>>890 I am 889. I have never done what you accuse me. Who are you fighting and why do you accuse me. This thread has been shit because of one person letting that person continue to be trolled. I think if that person stopped writing it would be peaceful.
>>894 Yes. This is 2channel. Trolling is normal. But this thread won't be shit if you stopped writing and rom for while or take other people advice. But you don't do both and keep letting you be trolled so it's shit.
basically you are saying every once in a while, you would like someone to be flamed, make that person run away, so that the troll-in-chief can assert his dominance? like a blood-letting ritual... narukodo...
>>897 Because you are reason this thread is shit. Trolling is normal but nobody likes trolled thread. >>898 Nobody say that. Why do you accuse me of doing and saying crazy things?
I'm tired from work. I hadn't been in this thread for four days and it seems like some people are torlling each other...
I talked to my friend in America on Skype and when I mentioned about this thread he wanted to come but I said"Noooo!!!" beause he would see some of my stupid comments here that I have written before and he would think Japanese people are stupid and hilarious (include me).
When I write my comments on English websites(I have some accounts there) I try to sound more serious and decent but since we can write anything we want here as >>889 said I can feel more relaxed and easy and say some stupid things here.
>>898 You're clueless. Your fighting fire with fire attitude is what's setting this place ablaze. It's not hard to imagine that that makes it unpleasant for many others is it? Or is that your objective? Trolling is common at 2ch, but most people know how to deal with it. You obviously don't, or is just trolling yourself and enjoying messing this thread up.
You called me vulgar and accused me for doing things I didn't do too, but I don't expect an apology. Sadly we all know by now how self centered you are. Read >>867 again without getting defensive if you can, and maybe you'll learn something.
>>899 Yes. But there still is a thing called common courtesy, whereas you are expected to stop talking about something when many others have expressed their discomfort on the topic. You do not keep bringing it up, unless of course, you are trolling or retarded.
>>912 I don't. I've only commented on it a couple times and not all the time as you say. It obviously won't stop unless the root of the problem is presented and that is exactly what I have done. I have also never flamed or used foul language at anyone in here, so I would appreciate it if you'd do the same.
>>917 I add some into my ramen or rice sometimes. what type of pepper do you like ? cayenne, paprika, Japanese peper? >>916 this how you do it. you simply carry on another topic. dead simple.
>>885 We have two words for what you would call drugstores. As you say, one of them in a chemist. The other is a pharmacy. They are pretty much synonymous. There is one such high-street outlet called Rowland's Pharmacy, yet another called Boots the Chemist. Even English-English can be senseless sometimes.
>>931 if it's from nagoya. sure they have such things. they put miso on every dish except for hitsumabushi
>>933 i've never been to the UK. is the concept of chemist/pharmacy is the same as drugstores in the US or Japan? do they sell not only medical related stuff, but cosmetics, snacks and other daily needs?
>>934 The concept is exactly the same. As well as being an outlet for drugs prescribed by medical professionals to patients, they sell anything from cosmetics to health food, and sometimes photo development services.
I've finished my midnight task now. I feel so tired but satisfied because the task was very well done. So I'll have breakfast. My happiest time begins from now.
>>935 Good morning. How did you find the AA? I would recommend you to ask it in a proper thread in AA Salon(AAサロン),since most people in this category are not familiar to those things.
Maybe, you can say"このAAの詳細お願いします。",so post this with the AA.
Hey everyone! This is my first time posting on 2ch. I feel special. I want to learn more Japanese but I feel this site may not be the best place in which to do that.
Because 2ch is more faithful to how the Japanese speak (type) than any Japanese-language teacher could be. And yes, I am very bored. I'm what the OP would call a "cunning linguist", so I like to expand my linguistic horizons.
Since people are practicing English here you can not expect learn Japanese in this thread. But you can ask us anything what you don't understand about Japanese.
Maybe you see some stupid English sentences here but most of the time those sentences are written by beggners who really don't know how to write proper English. And some of them just want to use dirty words and bother this thread for fun(it's like when children learn dirty words they want to use it).
(same poster again) I think maybe I'll stick around a bit. I kinda like this thread.
If I have any Japan-related questions, I'll ask. But in return, any of you 名無しさん can ask me about anything America or English-related (I'm American).
I love more than anything talking to people of cultures different than mine, and teaching people things. So like イギリス人 above, I'll answer your questions about us.
Or you can shout profanities.
Look forward to talking to you all.
PS- How many people here are Japanese and how many are Anglophones (English-speakers)?
>>886 No. She is not vegetablian. She is now famous for Yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant as 焼肉小倉優子.http://www.yakiniku-ogurayuko.com/ First she seemed to join in the management , but indeed she was just a character for the sales promotion. Because Yukorin's management office contract to the Yakiniku restaurant is very comlicated, Yukorin never have advitised the restaurant on TV, internet, etc.. I guess Yukorin's management office prohibits her to do so.
you guys seem to be pretty good at english, eh? aside from occasional spelling mistakes and some incorrect pronoun usage. I'd recommend getting an english spell-check dictionary for your browsers, that would be helpful.
>>951 I have no idea. But I think those people who are very fluent in English are native English speakers. And people who make some grammar mistakes are Japanese like me. Since you are the native speaker you can see it by yourself.
that means ogura yuko is korean? because all celebrity who opened yakiniku restraunt were korean. because zainichi-korean invented yakiniku and they manages most of restraunt in fact. so ogura yuko is korean. and she has connection to them. wada akiko has yakiniku restraunt too.
>>937 I see. In the US, they also have the photo services. I don't know why. Photos and medicines are not going together in my mind. But it's very convenient for taking ID photos. There are not automatic photo booths, which are very common in Japan, and other places like fedex are kind of expensive.
>>959 I have never heard Ogura yuko is zainichi-korean and such a rumor. Not all the celebrity who opened yakiniku restraunt were zainichi-korean. And Korean style yakiniku and Japanese style yakiniku are quit different. I don't know Wada Akiko case, but I suppose Ogura didn't make dicision to open yakiniku restraunt but her management office did.
I'm the American that asked about AA earlier. In relation to the posts about zainichi Koreans I'd like to ask about how Japanese people view foreigners and minorities like Ainu or Burakumin. How do you feel about people like this? Would you treat someone differently if they are a zainichi Korean? Are views on foreigners/minorities changing with younger generations?
>>962 Personally there is less differences between Japanese and zainichi Korean. But there is still many barriers left in Japanese society, for example school, job, marriage, etc.. Burakumin is a similar case. But Burakumin is less familiar in earstern Japan. Younger generation less be aware of such discrimination I think.
>>962 After coming to the US, I realized that burakumin and ainu attract attentions from many US people who are interested in Japan. I don't know understand that, because for most of Japanese just don't care or even don't know about it. 2ch people are super-unrepresentative sample of Japanese people, and this is not a good place to ask this kind of question.
Anyway, I am from a mid-sized city (300,000), where dowa education (anti-discrimination eduction) was emphasized. But to me, born in the 70s, the buraku problem was just an issue of the past. If I know someone's buraku or korean, I don't care. If he/she is annoying, I think that's just his/her personality and will not change my opinion toward them as a group.
For ainu, I don't know. They are less visible than Native American in the US. Ainu population is much smaller than Native American, and where are they? We don't have any ainu reservations where they operate casinos.
For foreigners, I am not qualified to answer, because I am a foreigner here.
Hi again I have a question: why is English part of compulsory education? And even then, how do you all speak English so well? Have you learned it in university or through travel? And lastly, why is there so much mingling of Japanese with English? Especially technical terms, but also words in popular culture and company names.
>>942 Sorry for late. Your heartful reply made me very happy . Now I'll go to my workplace to collect and submit the data I got last midnight. I hope my boss give me good sign through checking them.
