Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Progress is always good. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
While I think pregress brings benefits in various aspects to our lives, it can cause negative impacts on our lives. Our lives today is based on technological advancement. Thanks to the invention of an automobile, we don't have to walk to a place which is far away. Driving a car saves a lot of time to reach your destination and it's very convenient. Riding the wave of motorization, it's not rare for a houseold to own more than two cars.
However the increase of automobiles has brought various problems. Nowadays we're face with chronic traffic congestions in urban areas. Now that we're accustomed to the convenience of an automoble, we can't go back to a life without it. We have to cope with the problem by car sharing and other methods, but not a single measure to diminish traffic congestions has been invented.
Another problem regarding automobiles is exhaust gas emission, which is one of the reasons that causes global warming. The more automobiles we have, the more carbon dioxide are emitted, which can lead to destruction of environment.
To cope with green house gas emission, automakers invented a hybrid car. It certainly contributes reduction of carbon dioxide emitted from an automobile. This is a good example in which one technological progress makes up for a negative side of another technological progress. If all automoblies run on electricity, the problem of carbon dioxide emission from autmobiles will be solved.
However, the problem of traffic congestions haven't been solved completely by a new technological advancement, yet. Nobody knows whether solutions of traffic congestions will be designed based on technological progress.
That's the reason why I'm not completely agree with the idea that progress is always good. While some progress in our lives is good, others can bring negative effects in our lives.

Depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern, we find that some people hold the idea of raising children in countryside is better meanwhile others prefer to raise children in a big city. From my point of view, it is more advisable to raise children in a big city rather than in countryside. My arguments for this point are listed as follow. The main reason for my propensity for raising children in a big city is the variety and the quality of education. For instance, in a big city, such as Tokyo, There are number of famous private schools that offer the highest quality among the nation. In terms of physical education, because major sport clubs tend to converge in bigger cities, more opportunities to nurture children’s athleticism, under intense competition, are also found in big cities.
Another reason that can be found in every one is abundant social interaction. For example, you may interact with people who are in shopping mall or it can be a person sitting next to you in a train. It is beneficial for children to be able to converse with strangers for accumulating experience. Large population of big city can only attain this advantage. The argument I support in the first paragraph is also in position of advantage because

Although I agree that there may be a couple of advantages of raising children in countryside, I feel that the disadvantages are more obvious. The all advantages common to big city indicate that the circumstances are totally the opposite in rural cities, which is an undeniable disadvantage. In a word, in terms of education and social interaction, big city has determinant merit which cannot be found in most suburban city. Therefore it is sagacious to support the statement that is better to bring up children in a big city.
