Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And let's hope the Internet-addicted housewife will come back soon!
You know what pisses me off? When people romanize using tu, ti, sya, stuff like that. I know as a non-Japanese, I don't really have the right to say how they should romanize their own language. But come on, that stuff's just stupid. It's not pronounced tu or sya, damnit, it's tsu and sha! Write it that way! But I guess you could say the same about a lot of English words.
Korean guys are thought to be enchanting on the global level. For one thing, Korean guys are off the chart smart; Korean high tech products are selling big all over the world, especially in America. For another, Korean guys are hot; Korean guys train themselves. American girls love macho men and so they find Korean guys absolutely attractive. For another, Korean guys are gentle to girls. For another, Korean guys are self-confident. For another, girls all over the world simply love Korean guys looks. There are many more reason why girls all around the world love Korean guys. :)
>>9 I think Korean guys will be ridiculously popular among Italy girls as they have been among American girls, Jap girls and many more girls all over the world. If Korean guys dominate Italy, then it's as good as the whole Europian girls are interested in Korean guys. And I'm sure the day will come soon, coz I hear Korean Wave has invaded Italy already.
As an outsider's point of view, it's really interesting to talk about Korean guys, coz it made people feel good and happy. Let's have fun exchanging information about Korean guys. I want to know more about them, and I'm sure everyone else would think the same way.
>>13 That's exactly what I'm thinking. So Korean Wave, it's the source of Korean guys popularity. Korean Wave makes Korean guys popular among girls all over the world, right? How very good the wave is. Every girl in this world are like surfing on the Korean Wave then!!
Bahahaha, a friend just told me she was jealous I was going to school with Zac Efron! I guess some other people besides 2ch know about it lol.
>>21 I have no idea what this is, but it blew my mind.
I was watching an anime called "Strain" on Hulu. The show itself was decent but I was mostly watching it because it was subbed and not dubbed like the rest of the Hulu animes. I was pretty surprised to find myself understanding some stuff when I concentrated really hard. The AP Japanese national test day is this week May 7th - I'm doomed. And fuck my life in the Chicago Tribune today they had an article about a kid who taught himself Japanese during his lunch period and got the highest score possible on the AP test.
>>23 >I have no idea what this is That's because it's meaningless. The point is, even though the lines are supposed to be straight from the left to the right end, your eyes are decieved to see the lines look as if they went down or up. Enjoy the trick.
What's the AP test anyways? Achivement Proficiency or something? Good luck.
The only purpose of AP courses is to make yourself look better in the eyes of university admissions. Except on rare occasions where the teacher may be an exceptional lecturer, the courses are in general a waste of time besides for that one aforementioned benefit.
Teaching yourself a language isn't hard at all if you read and absorb the great wisdom from alljapaneseallthetime.com. The guy who writes for that blog is a genius. I used it for Japanese previously and I'm using the same standards for Chinese now.
>>5 I hate sy*, with a passion. But typing in Nihon-shiki romaji is faster so I use some of it when I chat in romaji with Japanese, especially when playing an online game where you need to type really fast. But only ti, tu and si, I think.
>>29 It's wierd. That's what I tried to write about. Few people in the world still don't know how very advanced Korean science/information technology is. We should make those ignorant people, though very few, notice Korean high tech products are the best. Korea is far better than those ignorant people would think. I think it'd be safe to say Korea is the nation ever found in the human history. Sure, America is good, I mean, we used to be forced to believe the country was good, but even those American people nowadays say they want to move to Korea because the infrastacture of Korea is far better than America, that Korean people make the better products than they can make, and that American girls are mesmerised with Korean guys because Korean guys are smart, wild, and sexy. Yes, American girls are right about that. What they say is all true. :)
108 :アメリカ人 ◆oUpRKPX5A2 :2008/12/31(水) 10:38:03 I respect Korean guys for being smart and sexy. I wish I were Korean.
109 :Tennessean ◆3VadybvJ.s :2008/12/31(水) 12:36:29 >>108 Me too. Korean guys mesmerise American girls. I want to be popular with American girls like Korean guys are.
>>33 So they are big fans of Korea and Korean guys. I believe they have Samsung smart phones and LG flat TVs and drive Hyundai cars. Those Korean high tech companies are the most innovative in the world. American people are heavily dependent on Korea for their daily lives. And Korea produces more ships/vessels than any other country in the world does. They should respect Korea for that as well. The best supplier of the ships all over the world. To think this way, it's quite understandable why Korean guys are popular with American girls and why American guys are in awe to Korea. Most American people think Korea is better than Japs in every respect now. That's all true. America thinks highly of Korea as the hub of Asian market. American girls and Korean guys will thrive. I'm proud of it. :)
>>23 >a friend just told me she was jealous She would have been more jealous if you had told her you were friends with a Korean guy. She must be a big fan of Korean Wave also.
>>34 Haha, since it was a SNES game I couldn't really notice his design. Now if you said Blue Dragon, or Dragon Quest I'd have to agree with you. It's a bit eerie seeing the same character, over and over.
What do Korean guys think of China? They have many similarities. They get on a boat and illegally enter Japan. They have similar names like Long Wang and Il Dong Sik.
>>45 You are quite wrong. Korean's are larger than those of the other Asian nations. If you say small, then you are rude to the other Asians. You should appologise to Korean guys. Plus there's more to sexy and hot guys than the sizes of their penises. Korean guys mesmerise girls all over the world because they are big enough to please girls, girls choose Korean guys because they are gentle, manly, smart, mesmerising and everything. You should know better than to try ridiculing Korean guys. You seem quite jealous of Korean guys.
>>46 I don't think Korean guys have any interest in Chinese guys. Chinese are rude, uneducated, too skinny, and uncaltivated. No girls all around the world show any interest in them as well, coz they don't deserve it. That's it.
You can track this gentleman's earlier posts about Korea down in a thread from Nov. 2008. That is, he has been going on about the same specific nonsense almost every fucking day for about six months. SIX MONTHS. This is madness.
>>50 Ah, how is it that this guy posts freely, but my computer at home is blocked? It's really not a just world...
Anyway, please allow me to bring up a subject.
Does anybody here listen to Jonathan Coulton? He's one my favorite musical artists. You might know him as the person who wrote the song at the end of Portal, "Still Alive", but he's written a lot of other songs, too. He has a habit of making songs that are depressing and cheerful at the same time. I'm not sure how to explain it. Often, the subject matter is dark, yet the tune is bright and happy...but it's more than that, really. I guess I'm trying to say something about how he uses black comedy. At one point, he attempted to write one song every week for an entire year. All those songs can be downloaded at his website.
I especially like "I'm Your Moon", one of his more sincere songs. Taken literally, it's a song about Pluto and its moon, Charon. Charon is about half the size of Pluto, which is pretty large for a moon. Also, Pluto and Charon are gravitationally locked, so each body keeps the same face towards the other. With their unique characteristics, it's almost as if Pluto are Charon are both moons of each other. The way Coulton sings about it makes it reminiscent of a love song. It's very nice.
Ah, I've accidentally gone on longer than I intended to. Sorry about that.
>>52 Define a native English speaker. Many of my relatives have been living in US for a long time and some of them forgot their first language. Some were born in the country, learned Japanese as a mother tongue but can barely speak it, though they can understand fairly well.
I've been wondering this for a while, and since I can speak English in this thread I thought it'd be a good time to ask. What are Japanese otaku like? I know the question is a bit strange, but I couldn't phrase it any other way. I know most English "Otaku" are loud, obnoxious and generally unpleasant to be around. Is this the same for Japanese otaku? Or do they prefer to stay inside and watch anime alone etc. (I think these are the best anime fans, the internet is a good place to discuss otaku culture etc. rather than showing it outside.)
Sorry if the question is offensive to anyone!! ヽ(;´Д`)ノ
I don't know, I guess there are many loud unpleasant otaku and many loner otaku in Japan. But I do know that Korean guys are very pleasant to be around. They can be outgoing and energetic, or quiet, smart and smooth, or sexy and mesmerizing. That's why girls all over the world say they love Korean guys, and guys all over the world say they can't live without Koean high tech products.
>>56 I have never been considered an "otaku"before in my life, so I can only speculate on what they're really like. I assume they're quiet and introverted in general, mostly passive rather than aggressive, at worst oppressed or even bullied because of their otakuness. There's always some sort of stigma around otaku and their culture that people outside the clique place upon, so they tend to hide their otaku tendency in public. However, once they feel safe in their comfort zone, I think they go wild like just about anyone getting excited about thier own thing. This is just my observation so it may not properly reflect the truth about them.
>>58 This is what I was thinking. I am reminded of shows like "Akiba@Deep" and such, and the otaku characters are (for the most part) outgoing and energetic. Perhaps it's the same for all people though. When we feel insecure, we're shy and usually tend to be introverted. When around people with similar hobbies/thoughts we do loosen up a bit.
>>39 I saw the box art, and I was like ew Toriyama and forgot about it. But according to people, Chrono Trigger is like the best RPG of all time so I think I'll give it a try.
Dragon Quest is an exception by the way. I would be sad if they changed the art design.
Like I said there are many loud and obnoxious otaku in Japan. People think otaku are shy and stuff but that stereotype is 20 years ago. Today there are alot of otaku who are nerdly outgoing, loud, stupid, and obnoxious. For example they talk about otaku stuff in public without gicing a shit.
I don't think being introverted counts as a feature of otakuness. I think otakuness is everything that is counter to what girls want from boys, so boys usually hate to be called otaku.
but that does not necessarily mean they are introverted or shy. "antisocial" may be better.
Girls all around the world are so mesmerised with Korean guys that they can't stop talking about Korean guys. Korean guys are surely quite popular all over the world. American girls, Jap girls, Brits girls, Chinese girls, and many more!! I'm proud of it! :)
If you search on the internet, you'll find there are many disscussion boards/blogs that say Jap guys are unpopular among girls all over the world.
ttp://www.myspace.com/99152645 >Wow, so you and Ruri were right. >Japanese boys aren't very nice or considerate. >At least not the one I know, >and my frind just found out the hard way. :( >Any advice? I thought maybe they were just clueless about girls like Korean boys can be. >But some of them are just so shallow!
i dont know the price of GOOTA i bought a GOOTA at the price of discount i bought a GOOTA IKIOI-DE it is correct that i dont remember, not that i dont know
Do you know Ohashi Nozomi wants to become a teacher at a hoiku-en? What a waste of talent that would be if it should come true! We should be prepared to prevent that from coming true.
You have made me want to eat GOOTA, which I have never eaten before. Why did you choose GOOTA from all the other instant ra-mens at the store? What makes GOOTA so special that you can't escape from choosing it?
Some things can't be translated into English like hoiku-en. When that happens, what do you do? Explain it in detail because you can't say it in a word or two? That's a bother. I don't want to do that.
Japanese people use chopsticks to eat. Japanese people like to eat rice. So the question on every American's mind is...how the hell do you eat rice with chopsticks?
52>> I am a native "English Speaker", Just started checking in on this thread a week or two ago. 79>> There are tons of sub-cultures in America, do you hate a specific one?
And all this subject of Koreans reminds me of the time I spent a month in Tokyo. I had Korean room mates in my guest house. They always had tasty rice and kimchi made. Korean ladies liked my manly American facial hair. All they could say in English was, "Hello, how are you?" Hopefully I will learn Japanese and return one day.
I just helped my self to kimuchi in the refrigerator. They didn't mind. I guess it was not technically free since the roommates paid for it. It was free to me though. I can't wait to do my university's study-abroad program. They have an exchange program with Saitama University. I need to finish my prerequisites for senior level classes first though.
^_^
I first started learning Japanese to chat on Final Fantasy 11. Can't remember many Kanji though. Starting to understand the news in Japanese on my shortwave radio.
>>115 Ok; but how correctly do you want me to speak? Written English requires me to revise. So lets have a conversation in English together! Would you like to talk with profanity? Or I could use my southern American dialect. Internet conversation English is something of its own too.
That is unfortunate. It is to bad that she did not want to kiss you. Women are very hard to understand. They say they want some a good relationship, but then only date people who treat them badly. I will never understand.
>>114 >>120 Sorry if my English isn't very good for study. I drank too much last night and have a bad hangover. Just want to encourage everybody to have fun and chat in English.
I really annoy Chinese people's Ambition to okinawa Brcause Okinawa(Chinese name Ryukyu) is "the bottle kneck to the Pacific"for Chinese Navy and once they occupy okinawa it will be"the Great Wall" to US-Japan Navy
But actually "tribute trade" was Just "the Profittable Trade" for ALL OTHER Countries
Japan and Korea also tributed same as Okinawa/Ryukyu Kingdom, But Japan was NOT a part of China! Also Okinawa/Ryukyu was NOT a part of China!
Because Japan/Okinawa "tribute<G" 1million Value commodies Chinese King "Maundy<G" 10Million Value commodies for his Stupid Vanity
It was Trade! Rykyu tributed Ming Dynasty so Rykyu is Our Island Japan tributed Han Dynasty so Japan is Our Island
God! How Greedy gang they are! I really annoy RED IMPERIALIST MILITALIST CHINA
i think people who play computer games are boresome. playing computer games is just nuisance to me. seeing anyone playing computer games makes me think that that one is a nut. what do you think?
>>110 You idiot, Kimchi isn't kimuchi. Kimchi is the traditional Korean cuisine. It's selling big all over the world. Check how popular the food is on youtube, and you'll see how large population of the world likes it. In the one I saw the other day, American guys are enthusiastic when they eat some Kimchi. Surprisingly, they made their original kimuchi on their own. Korean food culture is popular all around the world. Many people of this age say they put Korean food before any other food. They prefer Korean food to french, chinese, and other foods. I guess one of the reasons why those people (mainly girls of course) started having interest in Korean food is because they have great interest in Korean guys. They want to eat what Korean guys eat. In a nutshell, Korean gus popularity spawned a new trend in the food world. Korean high tech products, Korean Wave, Korean food... and sure fire item - Korean guys themselves - they are all appealing to the girls all over the world. And you can see the specific, drastic change in America. America is the country where its people chose a president with the resolution to change, and yes, America showed how they could change. Korea has a great influence on America and its people. But the ones that caused such change, though in an indirect way, were Korean guys who are very hot, sexy, manly, smart, and mesmerising. Now is the time for America to pay more respect for Korea which will return an equal respect for America and American girls. America should do whatever Korea asks them to because it'll help us understand each other. And I'm sure America will be happy to do so. We can foster good friendships. I hope Americans have the time of their lives when they eat Kimchi. That's all for now. :)
I hope kimchi is gonna be popular cause it's kinda good stuff But in fact I'm living in the us for 2 years and never seen kimchi stuff yet Sushi is freaking so popular tho Well I guess California has kimchi cause there are tons of korean or asian people living
>>149 I take umbridge with someone retarded like you. Of course, kimchi is a Korean traditional cuisine, but you have to learn there are many more Korean foods that are popular all over the world among girls of all ages in the world. ttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_cuisine
And Korea is now leading the high tech industries. America and Jap are no match for Korea in the field now, which means other nations such as germany, france, and England are left far behind from Korea. Korea is the only bringer of state-of-the-art products, so they say. Didn't you know that? Korea will keep making drastic innovation as the hub of the high tech industries. You should be happy about that.
>>150 you know what? Japan could buy out the whole Korea with 10% of budget. Japan could invade Korea with money anytime we want. So, you would be slave as Korean were befoe WW2.
>>156 Korea can't do anything without US support? What a weak country Korea is. Don't forget about that Korea had been invaded by Japan, I mean Korea was a loser like a fucking dog.
>>68 Yes, Korean guys are truly popular among girls all over the world. There are millions of websites that say girls all around the world are big fans of K-guys. I'm proud of it. :)
Korea was once ruled by Japan, Japanese army ruling it. Japanese army was brutal or yaban and did inhuman things to Korean people. Japanese people treated Koreans as people who are inferior to Japanese people. Japanese people did a lot of bad things to Koreans. We must bear in mind that we will never look down on people of any foreign country.
Do any of you know about the Eroge made by Westerners? It was made by people from 4chan. It's called 'Katawa Shoujo'. It's a dating sim about disabled girls. I think it's really good. The site is http://katawashoujo.blogspot.com/ It is in English, but it is simple English and should be easy to understand. It's free, this is the download link for the demo released 29 April http://katawa-shoujo.com/act1/%5B4LS%5Dks_a1_%5Bwin%5D%5BB31099EF%5D.exe
>>165 Such a backward looking person. Very sad. I am not sure if Japanese felt/feel any superior to K people, but I think K people feel inferior to J people somehow. I am only guessing that probably something makes them feel inferior?
>>172 to me, you seem to be very inferior. maybe, you are very unable. you cant do good jobs. you may be one of the most unabled person. im ashamed of hearing anyone sopeaking ill of koreans because it disgraces japan. i work only to make it a very decent country. i want disgraced person to get out of japan and never to say that he is a japanese. i dont want you to remain a japnese. i want you to live non nationality.
>>174 Learn to speak/write well. Hardly understand what you want to say. This alone makes you very inferior. I think you are paranoid about something and everything. Be yourself. Don't try to get ahead of yourself.
i dont understand what you say at all. you just look crazy or paranoid just as your word says. i want to know what a paranoid you are. please show me how you are paranoid. show me the contents of what you have and the facts they base on.
>>170 Also, just so people don't get confused. Only the demo of that game was released so far, full version isn't out yet. And there is no ero content in the demo, so we'll have to wait for the full version for that.
>>196 Right, but NEETs and otaku are two separate subsets by definition, though they might share some similar traits like being shunned and socially inept. However, I agree that otaku NEETs are the most powerful beings on the internet, ever.
I'm a fan of PC games. I've finally started ZWEI2!! It's fantastic ARPG game you might want to play if you have enough PC specs to run it on your computer. Do you have any specific title you like? If there's a good game, share your information with me. I'd like to know!
>>207 we play HL2DM. (valve steam) it's free. You all should join us some time. A few of us 4channers game almost every night, which would be during your day I'm guessing.
Unfortunately, I don't play PC games. But, If you want to know about the history of RPG, you should search for ROGUE. ROGUE is NOT a ARPG but affect many RPG, and is know as a text based RPG.
It's a hybrid RPG about dwarves Your aim is to build a fortress with your dwarves and survive, hunt for food, etc. It's a rogue-like RPG (with text for graphics) http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/df_28_181_40d.zip that is the download link for the latest windows version.
I've been playing Empire: Total War. It's excellent, but my computer runs it a tad bit slow (loading times for going to the battle map or going back to the campaign map take up to 30 seconds or longer on occasions).
Also I've been playing Dynasty Warriors (真三國無双, according to Wikipedia), for God knows what reason. It's a stupid and tedious game, but I like it.
>>221 install Steam from Valve and then install HL2DM in Steam. we play every night at 22:00hrs easttern usa time (10pm eastern time) which would be 03:00 british time so thats in about 15 mins from at the time of posting this post
>>223 Thanks. It was a bit confusing because HL2DM was like $5 on Steam. But I googled it and found a link to the nVidia sponsored free download page, and got it for free.
I got this from the steam website. to be truthful, their minimum is really pushing it. I personally would take their "recommended" as the true minimum.

Among all the peoples in the world, Korean guys are absolutely popular all over the world. Many girls all over the world have the images that Korean guys are manly, smart, kind, and self-confident. That's all true. Other guys can't seem to stop their girls having interest in Korean guys. I don't know if that's good or not. Sure, it made me proud, of course, but at the same time, people will be jealous of Korean guys for their popularity like "why do Korean guys that popular and why not me?". Yeah, it's quite understandable to think like that. They don't know why Korean guys are popular or else they even try to know. (personally, that's why such pathetic guys are unpopular). As girls all around the world say, the popularity of the Korean guys is heavily dependent on their manly looks, brains and brawn. Korean guys are interesting to have time with. Such guys will be popular even if you aren't Korean. Learn from Korean guys if you really are interested to be popular with girls. Korean guys will be happy to teach. I'm sure Korean guys will have a dominant role to play in this world. Girls love Korean guys and those girls who couldn't have a Korean boyfriend on acount of the lack of the number of Korean guys would be satisfied if they found a replacement for a korean guy - only if their non-korean boyfriends learned a lot from Korean guys. Korean guys will be respected for teaching other guys how to get popular among girls. Korean guys are loved and respected that way!! I'll be proud of it. :)
May none, then, call on me for understanding, May none, then, turn to me for help in pain, And drain alone his bitter cup of sorrow, Or find he knocks upon my heart in vain. Or find he knocks upon my heart in vain.
if you have pain, you can call on me and say you are sad. i dont know if im kind enough to make you feel youre no more sad after i comfort you. but i mean i could be any little help so that your pain will be only a little reduced.
Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted in forever >< I had a very bad computer crash about 10 days ago and have not been able to post since...I just got a new computer so I should be posting a lot more very soon. My name is in romaji because I can't figure out how to input kana on windows vista yet, but you know it's me because of my tripcode and e-mail.=) one I get all of this stuff worked out I'll get caught up here.
I'm assuming you guys care lol, but oh well. I care- I think posting here is fun, I was upset when I couldn't. But now I can, I should have everything running fully by tomorrow.
>>251 Computer crush is the reason many people use most often when they procrastinate writing back email and all, but I don't think you're lying. Do you buy a PC off a shelve of a store or buy componentes and make your own PC with screw drivers? Do you buy a PC at brick and morter store or online store?
For mother's day I took my mom to go see the Star Trek movie. It was excellent btw.n_n (As a kid i loved watching old reruns of the original star trek.)
Are there also Mother/Father's day in Japan? I remember watching an episode of Gard Gay/ Haado Gei getting some kids to tell their father they appreciated them.(lol) I suppose this was during a japanese equivalent of Father's day?
>>253 > For mother's day I took my mom to go see the Star Trek movie. Good for you! I also AM a huge fan of Star Trek series, though I've watched only TOS, TNG, DS9.
> Are there also Mother/Father's day in Japan? Yes, there are. Maybe introduced from Europe into Japan somewhere in its history.
>>253 You have your saving you earned from part-time job and paid her movie fee? Hard Gay is completely out of our minds. He lost his momentum long time ago got less and less popular in a flash. He could keep his ppularity one year or so but after that we don't see him on TV. It's natural people got bored of him soon because there's no varietions in his comedy style. All he can do is just shake his hips real hard.
I gave my mom nothing on the day. In fact, I have'nt given her anything on the day for years. I never appreciate my mom and dad. Without them, I wasn't NEET. I didn't want to be born in the first place.
Unlike your hunch, my gut feeling says none of them is keira. Granted, it's possible she has gained some weight by now, but apparently none of them in the pictures has a dog with them. Hence, your claim is dismissed for lack of standing.
Star Trek must be originally made to imply Korean guys will be popular beyond the world.
I forgot to mention Canadian girls are quite interested in Korean guys. Please forgive me, Canadian girls. Don't get angry with me for not mentioning you. I thought American girls will be jealous of us if Korean guys are popular with Canadian girls whose heads are full of Korean Wave and Korean guys. :) But that doesn't mean Korean guys ignore Canadian girls, of course. Korean guys are just busy taking care of their fans inpartially to mention all of the enthusiastic fans of Korean guys, but Canadian girls are welcome, so don't feel ignored please. You know, Korean guys are very nice to all the girls around the world, so Korean guys sometimes can't live up to Canadian girls' expectations. Korean guys are awfully sorry about that. But from now on, I promise I'll list up your name when I mention there are many fans of Korean guys all around the world. I'm sure Canadian girls will be satisfied that way. :)
Maria Ozawa? Did she quit? Oh, she's a big fan of Korean guys. I'm sure she'll move to Korea in an effort to find a korean date. All the men in this world will be jealous of Korean guys... But she has the right to live as she wants. I hope she can find a Korean guy.
>>267 For me it takes 2 hours to get home as well, and 2 hours travel in the morning. I commute by train myself. I hope that sleep deprivation's damages aren't lasting, or are at least reparable over time.
I bought the laptop from a brick and mortar store =P If I had more money I would build my own but this one is pretty good. (4gb RAM, 2.0GhZ Dual core CPU (64-bit), 500GB harddrive, etc., 17 inch screen.)
I like it, only $950 after all taxes. About 95,000 yen.
Who was the Korean in Star Trek? Was it Spock? If so, are you implying that Koreans are complete shit personality wise, but are so handsome that they can still get (black) pussy somehow?
>>270 How can it be so inexpensive. My desk top PC, which is 1.60GH Pentium Dual Core, 2GB RAM (1GBx2, one have to be added on purchace by reccomendation of a clerk, so originally 1GB) HD (320GB), 17 inch screen, was about 200 thousand yen, or 2000 dollars.
That's not fair. WHY WHY WHY??? I bought it in 2007 autumn and I know as time goes by, the prices of hardware get low but I don't get just one and a half year makes the price so cheap. Damn.
You guys should remember such computer parts are made in Korea. Korea supplies a lot of IT products that include computers. That's why Korean guys are respected by many people all over the world. They know they can't live even a single day without Korean hightech products. One thing I find very interesting is that girls all over the world use Korean high tech products to enjoy Korean Wave, where all those girls can watch Korean sexy guys. Yeah, Korea entertains them by giving them a chance to have a gadget to watch Korean guys with. How strategic it is, isn't it?
>>286 I know you're just playing a devil's advocate. We know Korean guys are far better than Chinese. It's really rude to compare Korean guys with other people. Korean guys are the best, and all the girls around the world can pay any price in order to find a Korean guy. Don't make me say the obvious like that. :(
>>289 America sent Japs to hell for their evel deeds in WW2, and Korea, as one of the winners of the war, punished Japs as well. Now American girls pay great respect for Korean guys partly because Korean guys contributed a lot then, mainly because they love Korean guys are manly, sexy, smart, and respectful. The world hates Japs, on the other hand. They are happy to see Japs being in agony bacause they deserve it. The justice is on Korean side. The world says so. And China is only a victim of the war. The poll shows that Caucasian girls such as American and Canadian have almost no interest in either of them, while those girls are quite interested in Korean guys because they think of Korean guys as being white in Asia. That's the truth.
Are you jealous? Of Korean guys being popular all over the world?
>>288 all we know is korea is one of the autonomous districts in china. what else is worth mentioning about korea? korean guys... well our impression about them is that of some lunatic called kim jong il, maybe.
>>289 Kim Jong Ill is from North Korea. South Korea is the hub of the high tech industries of the world. There's a lot for you to learn about, idiot. And many polls conducted all over the world say that Korean guys are trully popular among girls all over the world. You should admit that.
>>280 Almost the same price as mine. How can price goes down and spec is enriched dramatically in just one and half year. orz
>>281 282 For a person who don't know much about PC, making PC on his own is out of the question partly because of what 283 says.
You can't rely on customer support or search for info about your PC on the net when in trouble. Although I've never called customer support center since I bought this PC but it is something you can rely on. It's like an isuarance. Have you ever called Customer support center? I heard many PC makers outsource customer support to India and have read a joke about how their English is hard to understand bause of pronuciation. Do you have any personal experiences?
>>293 I understand now...why you turned yourself against Korea so sudden... Don't worry, even if I didn't say Europian girls are fans of Korean guys that doesn't mean Korean guys underestimate Europian girls, you know. Of course, Korean guys will be nice to you Europian girls. So please don't be jealous... Europian girls are so passionate, aren't they? Korean guys should keep that in mind. I promise I won't make you feel lonely. So please be a good girl, Ok?
>>295 The situation is quite different for anyone who knows where to look. There are forums online with better "tech support" than any company. Plus when you build your own PC, the individual parts often come with warranty and can be replaced for free if they break within 1-2 years.
>>297 Let's see how popular Korean guys are all around the world. You should at least admit there are many girls in this world who are so obssessed with Korean guys they would do anything to find a Korean date.
68 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2009/05/05(火) 22:07:09 If you search on the internet, you'll find there are many disscussion boards/blogs that say Korean guys are popular among girls all over the world.
ttp://koushoushou.blogspot.com/ >(btw, i realised this general trend that korean guys are rather popular among the brits. hahaha)
Girls all around the world are so mesmerised with Korean guys that they can't stop talking about Korean guys. Korean guys are surely quite popular all over the world. American girls, Jap girls, Brits girls, Chinese girls, and many more!! I'm proud of it! :)
>>287 It means "Stop doing something (even if the something is what you think worthwhile or you think you have to claim, or you think you have to have everybody understand"
It can be "(you should) refrain yourself from posting (such a mean comment)" If you see it in nicocnico video, then the word might be directed to a person who made a video, like "refrain yourself from making such a stupid, mean or whatever video." It doesn't have a serious tone. It's a fun way of commenting to other posts or videos.
>>287 And this Korian guy is so annoying and such a vermin that just saying 自重 to him doesn't seem to work. As I said when you say 自重 in 2ch or niconico, it's fun and friendly way of making someone to urge refrain from posting about something. it has kind of humorous connotation.
What this Korean advocate guy is doing going overboard. All I would say to him is "Shut the fuck up." 自重 is too soft to him.
I am Korean and the only things I know about europeans are: -Hitler -They eat snails. -They fxx their own family. -They are fat. -They eat bacon al the time. -They have high gay population. -They, both men and women can give me a good blow-job. -They have sideway vagina. -They like to watch disguisting things such as TWO GIRLS, ONE CUP.
>>307 One Jap posted this. He pretended to be Korean. Japs are sneaky and cunning. We know that. That's why Japs are unpopular with girls all around the world.
DO NOT FUCK WITH KOREA, BECAUSE WE CAN FUCK YOUR JAP ASSES UP! JAPS CAN'T FIGHT WORTH A FXXX, BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO OBLIGATION TO JOIN THEIR OWN FAGGOT SELF-DEFENCE (WEAK SHIT)ARMY.
Something tells me there isn't a girl in this thread. So people here are jealous of Korean guys and they just try to take thier anger out on me, coz Korean guys as good as stole thier women's hearts.. Jealousy like that isn't beautiful...I'd say.. I think they should know they can't hold a candle to Korean guys when it comes to popurarity with girls. That's all.
>>312 I've never seen it used in niconico but I can guess. (If you can you can put a link to a video.)
It think it means "more and more people will watch this video because it's interesting, funny, or whatever.)" If I'm not wrong, the number of viewrs who has watched a video is shown on a video's page. I think the number expands because the video'll get popular.
My guess is based on this. When you say スレが伸びる in 2ch, it means lots of people is and will post in a thread.
I'm ashamed of my ignorance. I should learn more about Korea. I'm awfully sorry. But now that you taught me how wonderful Korea and Korean guys are, I'm more interested in them. Thanks, Korean guys. I'll be addicted to sexy Korean guys. :)
I'm ashamed of my ignorance. I should learn more about Japanese. I'm awfully sorry. But now that you taught me how wonderful Japan and Japanese guys are, I'm more interested in them. Thanks, Japanese guys. I'll be addicted to sexy Japanese guys. :)
>>321 Don't be so formal. You must be well-educated and open to new knowledge. You don't have to be ashamed. You can learn about Korea step by step, from now on. Keep this in mind - Korean guys are always in your heart. Study and enjoy Korea! I'm sure you'll be happy. :)
>>256 Ah, that's what I thought.He was a one-trick-pony after all.
>>257 Why don't you appreciate your parents? Do you feel that they never properly took care of you? I bet they feel really lonely on mother and fathers day.
>>259 lol. Oh geez, that's terrible cosplay. I've never cosplayed in my life. I don't even like anime all that much actually.
I enjoy eating kimuchi almost everyday. I love fxxxing korean hookers. I enjoy watching Kim Jong Ill on TV NEWS, because he is so funny He makes my laugh with nuke and missile jokes. I love Korea.
I can't help feeling sorry for korean guys. All this fantasizing about themselves being so popular among girls all over the world shows ironically how they lack confidence in themselves.
Haven't taken a bath for five days. I look like a bum. I know I smell like a dog. I smell like a german shepard, not golden retriever. I'm fermented.
The moment you smell my armpit or pubic hair, you'll faint. I'm thinking I'll go to a hospital and have patients smell my armipit or pubic hair. That way, they don't need anesthesia. That's a win-win situation. Even NEET like me can help people and patients can save some money.
Just in case you don't read Korean, it says in a nutshell that the Korean guy is popular with girls and proud of being Korean when he's abroad. Compared with Japs or Chinks, Korean guys are nice to girls and self-confident so girls anywhere respect Korean guys.
And personally, this is what people all around the world should know. Everyone respects Korean guys. :)
>>336-337 You think only one person's blog proves general korean guys' popularity? It seems to me the very fact that you could only cite as proof some person whom nobody knows is enough to prove my point.
>>339 He speaks for both all Korean guys and all fangirls of Korean guys. That blog will encourage all Korean guys to be proud of being Korean. Korean guys are popular among girls all over the world. It's simple. You don't have to prove it coz it's the obvious. :)
Don't you get bored with repeating the same not-so-funny thing over and over? I'm rather jealous of your obsession 'cause it seems like you can entertain yourself so damn easily. :(
>>342 I don't think so. Many people are interested in Korea, so we should do anything to get them to have correct ideas of Korean guys being popular.
Some pathetic people underrate Korea, so we should make the brand image of the great republic of Korea higher and let people all over the world know how great Korea is. Korean guys are very popular now, so we should take another step to make the world know Korea is excellent. In the meanwhile, Japs are overrated, so we should advertise how Japs stole our culture. My caucasian girlfriends agree with me. :)
he is a typical korean. always thinks himself superior to others and his country superior to other countries without any substantial data, sound proof or convincing logic.
Not really, he's more like an attenton whore and actually doesn't give the slightest crap about Korea or Japan. ...but whatever makes him happy, I guess.
hmm... korea... anti-japan, imitation of japan, anti-china, mass massacre and rape of vietnamese women, vt massacre, financial collapse in 1997... that's all I can think of.
>>354 Is that the best you can do? You are such an idiot. I'm going to eat Korean BBQ with some Korean friends tomorrow. Can't wait to get mesmerized by K-food and K-guys.
This just in: A majority of white girls don't know the difference between a Chinese, Japanese, and Korean man; in appearance, geographic location, and name.
i just now took Exam #6: Urban Scenery same as before, I can tell if it is japanese or chinese but I'm iffy on korean. I think these tests are telling me that I need to learn more about korea.
haha on Exam #7: Food, I scored "Hopeless".
Exam #8: Architectural Details, I scored the same as exam 3 and 6. Guess I do need to learn more about korea
>>359 I'm fairly sure most Asians do know that South Europeans tend to be black-haired and brown-eyed while northerners are mostly brunette/blonde/redheaded, though.
Anyway, I'm caucasian and scored 10 out of 18 on the faces test.
So, if we take all this arguement into consideration, the only thing we can conclude is girls all around the world, especially caucasian girls, are entusiastic when they think about Korean guys. I'd say it's a romantic interest. Girls are gravitated to guys who are sexy, manly, smart, and self-confident. No doubt Korean guys have all of them, and Korean guys are romantic. That's why girls choose Korean guys. Very good, well doneee, guys! :)
>>366 You know, Jap guys are considered sneaky and violent. They'll do anything to make Korea look bad. I'm disgusted at it! Korean guys are popular and Jap guys are jealous of our glory. That's for sure.
>>367 Nope, girls all around the world are quite interested in Korean guys, mainly because of Korean Wave. Korean Wave is spreading all over the world. No wonder Korean guys are popular now. :)
The Korean wave or Korea fever refers to the surge of popularity of South Korean culture around the world since the 21st century, especially among the Millennial Generation. While popular throughout the Asian continent, its influence is strongest in East Asia, especially dominant in China, Japan and Southeast Asia, spreading to India,[2] the Middle East,[3] Central Asia,[4] Iran,[5] Israel,[6] Turkey[7] and Russia.[8]
The Korean wave is rapidly expanding beyond Asia and has a substantial presence in North, Central and South America, particularly in Mexico and Argentina,[9] and is increasingly becoming popular in the United States.[10] It is also gaining momentum in Eastern Europe and Scandinavia, led by Hungary[11] and Norway.[12] It is gathering positive interest in North Africa, attracting a sizable niche audience in Egypt.[13] Currently, the Korean wave is starting to hit the shores of the UK[14] and Australia.[15] South Korea is one of the world's top ten cultural exporters[16] and the Korean wave began with the export of Korean TV dramas such as Autumn Fairy Tale, Winter Sonata, Dae Jang Geum (Jewel in the Palace) and more recently Boys Over Flowers across East and Southeast Asia; the growing success of Korean dramas was soon matched by Korean movies, popular music, food[17] and language.[18] The term has now become an acronym referring to South Korea's growing economic power and the rise of global multinationals such as Samsung, LG and Hyundai-Kia. It is also referred to as "Hallyu" (Hangul: 한류; Hanja: 韓流; RR: Hallyu), from the Korean pronunciation. The term was coined in China in mid-1999 by Beijing journalists surprised by the fast growing popularity of South Koreans and South Korean goods in China.
>>370 That's pitiful of you. You try to spread a groundless rumour in an attempt to make Korea look bad again. Everyone can see through your shallow and mean plan. That doesn't work.
From what wiki says, it's safe to say Korean Wave is popular all over the world, as I have said. The United States, South America, Russia, China, Jap, Africa, Europe... Korea is now the cultural center. Every girl is interested in Korea and its guys. :)
Is this a Korean board or what? One Korean narcissist is spoiling a once fun-filled thread frequented by all kinds of people around the world. I miss it!
>>377 I think the anti-Japanese education in Korea causes most of its anti-Japanese sentiments of Korean people. Not a few Koreans who have come to and lived in Japan have had a quite different opinion from the one they had back in Korea.
>>380 I remeber home position but I can(t resist looking at keys. It see,s lile im@ossible for me to tpich type. I make ;ots og typo if I do toucyh type as you can see now from this post.
>>380-381 Xan you type number keys and gunction keys without looking at themm too? As for me, I don't remember. alphabet keys are enough for me.
i had to learn to type twice. i remember back in 2nd or 3rd grade learning to put my middle fingers on the little raised dots on the keyboard. these were on the D and K keys. then the ibm clone era came along, and i had to learn to put my index fingers on the little dots that were now on the F and J keys. so i can do both
>>384 yes the home position changed. so i used to place my middle fingers on the dots on the ibm clone keyboards and thus lose my place because all the keys would be off by one.
>learning to put my middle fingers on the little raised dots on the keyboard. these were on the D and K keys.
If this is the case, I don't think homeposition isn't changed. If you pout your middle fingers on D and K then naturally your indexfingers are on F and J.
>>386 try it and maybe you will understand. I was trained to place my middle fingers on the raised dot keys (used to be D K). Not looking, I would feel for these keys with my middle fingers and then place my middle fingers on the keys (now F J). this puts the pointer fingers on the G H keys. this can only be solved by looking at the keys to see which layout they are.
>>368 So, Korean Wave has a dominant influence on America now. American people are happy to see Korean dramas, listen to K-pops, and want to have a Korean boyfriend. I'm proud of it. :)
>>390 well the idea of the dots was that one could find the home position by feeling for the dots with out looking. thus moving the position of the dots can cause confusion. or do you look when you place your hands on the keys? I tend to walk up to a keyboard and blindly place my hands on it as i feel for the dot keys. that is why they are there after all.
Do you guys know Samsung and LG flat TVs have more than their shares in the American market? The Korean high-tech companies are quite popular in the United States, especially Samsung is considered the best not only in America but also in the other nations all over the world. Many people in the world can enjoy their live thanks to Korea. That's something, isn't it?
>>389 What do you mean, nope? What's nope about? You should admit the truth that many American people are in favor of Korean cultures, such as foods, dramas, music, and Korean guys. Why do you say nope in the face of the surging popurarity of Korea? You'll be considered a liar. :(
>>394 sorry to burst your bubble mr troll, but most americans can not even point to where korea is on a map. you must remember, most of america has turned stupid now. I do think that the recent victories of the progressives have proved this...
not to imply that I am one of the stupid ones, but I do think that I do need to learn more about korea. I did fail to ID korean foods in that test that I took not too long ago. maybe I should start with foods.
>>395 normally i do, but just right now i do intend to engage in conversation in order to pursue some entertainment on my part.
>>399 maybe because people actually payed attention to him? the phrase we use on 4chan is, "don't feed the troll". yes I am aware that I did feed the troll not too long ago, but please do not take me as a hypocrite.
>>400 Yeah, ignoring is the best policy. That's what is said here in 2ch, too. People who troll just want attention.
It's like a pervert showing his penis in public. If girls don't show their face of surprise and said calmly "How small your penis is" to the pervert, there's no point of showing his penis.
This is an article from May 11th. An emplyee of Toyota mortors is alledgedly exposed his private part in his car to show it to passers by. Female uni student remember lisence plate number and call the police and he was arrested. He denies charges.
OOppss... This news drive him even more to prase Korea. Saying no Hundai employees do such obscene things. lol Anyway don't feed the troll is the best policy.
>>403 The second video shows one aspect of Japan now. The man in the video looks so shy and doesn't seem to have enough people skills. At least residents there stand on their own feet (if their parents don't send them some money.)
Maybe I'm worse than them in that I live with my parents and live on my father's pension who's already retired. Commonly used self putdown words in 2ch for hikikomori or NEET is Poo maker, poo manufacutuere poo producing device, meaning they don't contribute to society. All they do is just eat and poo without doing anything productive in any given day. I'm one of them but I voluntarily translate in other threads so I think I contribute to a society a little bit. Just a little bit.
Reporter: Space is pretty confined. I mean, what's gonna be like, calling this place home?
Interpreter: あのー、場所は非常に限られてますけど、ここをやっぱりお家と呼ばれるのでしょうか? (Well, space is pretty confined, and you're still gonna call this your home?)
Guy: あのー、メインスペースとしてはこうなんですけど、あのー、たとえば布団を引いたときとかよりは、あの、布団を、なんてか、一応足を伸ばせるもんでね。 (Incomprehensible self-mocking gibberish basically saying "Uh, I-I know it's like this and nothing more, but, um, let's say, imagine you lay out futon here, and, futon, how do I put it, you know, I can at least stretch my legs!")
Interpreter: As long as he can lie down, and he can put legs, that's fine. (Completely made-up comment lol.)
I'm not familiar with British accents, so I might have misheard it, but obviously she didn't know what to think when she heard the string of random words.
>>407 Like what? Translation job? Translation job is boring and I'm not interested in it. Traslation job is about translating manuals of products. That's boring and I'm not interested in technology. It takes background knowledge to be a good translator. I don't even know science thing. Translatino job is about becoming a bridge between two languages. I don't want to be the bridge. I'll kill myself in the near future. I have no decent job history so being hired by a company is impossible.
>>408 How about being interpreter? You might be better at it than the auntie in the vid. Maybe it's the same as translation, but at least you can get in touch with actual people.
>>409 Translater and interpreter are the same as you say in that you work as a bridge. Plus, I think becoming an interpreter is harder because you need listening skills.
The interpreter in the video is pro and she's a lot better than me. I am kind of depressed and have no hope in my future. Anyway, thank you for your suggestion.
>>410 Speaking and listening are a lot easier than writing and reading if you try.
Anyway, I don't know what you want to do, and I can't come up with any better idea. But how about you learn some conversation skills like pronunciation? It'll speed up your English learning and make it easier by a factor of a gazillion.
>>414 I used to think getting better at English'll lead to a job but I don't have any hope in my life in the first place, so now the reason why I'm studying English is just to kill my time. Not doing a job makes me feel guilty so I study English. Studying English lessen the sense of guilty of being NEET.
Even if I could get a job, I wouldn't want to keep living. That's the way I think of my life.
>>417 well, vaguely but yes. why don't you try volunteer activities? maybe some place abroad? if you see right in front of you people who needs you and depend on you, your life will be changed.
He became a laughing stock because of his "L" and "R" pronunciation. I just thought, "Go easy on him." I have to admit it's typical English spioken by Japanese but still, they don't have to laugh at him like that.
>>418 It's good to have some hope in your life, even if it's vague. I think I'm too old. I think I'm older than you think I am. I really appreciate your nice words and suggestions but any encouragement will be in vain.
>>420 why do you presume you're older than me? i'm 44 and poor, working all day earning what little money i can get. it's not an ideal life, but i think i'm lucky living and sharing some feelings with people including you. just to share anything with other people, to talk with real people with some feeling makes you feel you are alive. so why don't you try one small step forward?
>>421 Oh yeah? Then you're older than me! I thought you're a university student or something. What you said about life does make sense but I have had this negative attitude to my life for a long time so it's difficult to change my attitude and mentality. I'm younger than you but I'm old enough to have my own family having a few kids.
What is your hope if you don't mind my asking? If you work it's about time for you to go to bed to have a good night sleep. Don't waste your time talking with me.
>>422 i have no family, no wife, no kids. i'm not sure i'll be able to work next year, out of work maybe. i've had a negative outlook on my life some times in my life. but still you can live with little happiness you can find in your life. you don't believe what i say? just go out and do something even if you don't want to. and your life will gradually change from this small step. my hope is a humble one. i want to start my own business, no matter how small it may be. and i don't know when my dream will come true or whether it even will come true. hope is not what you have. it's what you get. remember this. and it's not a waste of time taliking with you. not a bit. you kindly worry about my sleeping time. that's what counts.
>>423 What you are saying is true. My brain understands what you mean but my heart refuses to accept it. I may be stubborn and have little flexibility. ;) Maybe I'm coward, too.
I admit you're persuasive in a way because you don't escape from the reality in front of you. I respect you in that sense. Thank you for sharing your idea and opinion with me. Now you have to go to bed now. Sweet dreams!
>>424 okay i will go to bed. you don't have to think you're coward. everybody's coward in some way. and take your time as long as you need. don't let your negative feelings overwhelm you. you are alive now and you can eat, sleep, and have a house to shelter yourself. this is a good start! so enough said. good night to you too. thanks for talking with me.
I just can't stop wondering who writes ths kind of entry? I mean even trivial things have entries in wikipedia. What motivates them to write entries in detail. I've just tweaked a discription for an entry just for fun but never motivated to wirte a whole entry.
I went to get a haircut today, but the barber did such a shitty job that there is no way it can ever be repaired... so I just shaved my whole head a few minutes ago.
Hey guys, Canadian here. After many failed attempts to figure out how the fuck to get Vista to input in Japanese I just gave up >_> maybe some day though. For now I'm just going to switch to this name since it is meant to be used with the tripcode.
I think I said it earlier, but I'm not taking the role of this character (called role-playing in English) I just want to use the name :3 but yeah, now I'm going to go watch Ichigo Mashimaro. Peace.
I came to Kasumgaseki this evening. Here is unique place isn't it? Maybe I hate here when if I must work.(laugh)Tonight I will meet my friends at there. I am thinking if I can working with people of ministries and government on Kasumigaseki. It's difficult for me yet.I have interest of system of Kasumigaseki. For example why the Ministry of health and Welfare lost our pension. I want to know that's truth.I already know that now.But I think many misterious things mriggle here.
It's too much.We can't know things. So I think here is factory of big trouble. For example from foreign countries pressure and makes somd strange policy. We always just obey for government but if you can know truth and build relationship with important people, it is so fantastic. I want to get it in my future.I know some ministries and government offices people. But they don't know real truth of Japan or world system. They can't working when if they can know it?
I don't know.I want to have relation with important people with my wisdom. Maybe it's so fun!I can seeing new world but this imagenation is just my delusion yet. And my life is too long.So I can realize many challenges. You too. So the life is wonderful.Hahaha.
Hmmmm, it seems the Angry Video Game Nerd and the Nostalgia Critic are becoming a bit popular on Nicovideo...
Well, the AVGN was already popular, but now a few subtitled Nostalgia Critic videos have popped up.
That's interesting.
Speaking of people acting a bit odd while being recorded-- Are there any shows in Japan that are like The Daily Show? Technically, it's a parody, but it does cover actual news stories. Furthermore, since it's only a parody, the host, Jon Stewart, is allowed to say all sorts of outrageous things that wouldn't fly on a "proper" news program. There are free episodes going back about three weeks at the official website if anyone still doesn't get the idea of what I'm talking about.
Anyway, what I'm really saying-- Would that sort of satire work in Japan? Or would it still be struck down? I don't know if it's related or not, but I understand that libel laws in places like Japan and the U.K. are much more strict than in America.
Wow, Korean cuisines look yummy!! I want to try them!! Korean cuisines should be treated the same as French, Italy, and Chinese. Korean cuisines are one of the best cuisines all over the world!
Girls all around the world prefer to eat heathful foods. Girls are generally interested in beautifying their skin. I'm sure Korean foods contribute to getting people into good shape. That's why there's a lot of chances Korean cuisines are globalized, eaten anywhere in the world. People will be more interested in Korea that way.
I thank Korean guys for inventing Korean BBQ, but Japanese cuisine is the best. Roruchan the German youtuber said so. He is older and more experienced in foreign cultures than us, so it must be true. Japanese food culture is sophisticated and has history, whereas K-foods are just barbaric caveman era meat BBQ's and kimchi.
>>453 I don't get it. Considering the fact that most of the people all over the world hate to eat raw fish, so Jap cuisines have no chance of succsess in other words. The youtuber doesn't seem to take that into account. Compared to Jap foods, Korean cuisines are widely accepted by many people who love good and healthful cuisines. And another competitiveness of the Korean foods is that girls all around the world have started to have great interest in Korean foods thanks to Korean Wave, you know, they are watching Korean dramas where many nice looking korean acters eat Korean foods. Those fans of Korean guys are influenced a lot. That's why. We'll see the surge of popularity of Korean cuisines in no time. :)
Does the average 2ch'er play touhou? I like playing #8 (Imperishable night, in English.) Haven't had time to download the others, I'm not an expert anyway x_x some of it seems impossible.
You know, Korean Wave doesn't mean only Korean dramas, Korean cuisines, K-pop, and Korean guys. It includes online PC games. Korea is considered the parent of the online games, so there are many fantastic Korean games you can play online. Korea has top-ranked IT cultures. That's why many people are attracted to Korea these days. I'm proud of it. :)
Discovery Channel seems to have great interest and possibility in Korean worldstar Rain!! He's an ultra-popular Korean guy in America. American girls get extremely excited to see him land on America!! I'm proud of it!
I haven't taken a bath for a week now. This is my personal record. To celebrate it, I served myself some coffee. If Internet develops even more and you can send smell other than audio and movie and text, I'd send you my BO through Internet over to your PC. I'm sure you'd faint.
I can take it anymore so, I think I'll take a bath today. I smell sweaty, sour,... No words are enough to describe how smelly I am. It's sure I smell worse than your dog.
>>462 You know, international students from Japan studying in your uni don't speak English better than NEETs here. If you have any experiences of talking with them, you can tell that from your own experience. イギリス人 and アメリカ人, who are regulars here have talked with Japanese people in Enlish so they can tell that from their own experiences, I guess. NEETS have a lot of time at hand to study English taht's why they are fluent.
No decent people except housewives are here in the daytime. You should settle for chatting with NEETs.
>>462 If you want to talk with decent people or university or high school students, who share the same interests with you, it might be a good idea to look for a email pal. There're lots of penpal website. You can tell their English command first hand that way.
>>472 It's like Koreans were so hated by all the other races that they assaulted Korean stores But a typical koreans' take would be different. Theyd rather behave as though they are the victims of something. They know it's a valid way to pretend to be victims in order to bum money from others..
When I first see this expression, I thought it means someone who is unpopuar and ignored by classmates. Because I have read a book titled something like "A boy called it." If I am not wrong, this is a story of a boy negelected by his mom and "It" was a pronoun used by her when he was mentioned by her.
Hollar me if you're an It guy or It girl. Tell me how you are/were It guy/girl at school.
>>484 >>470 is a moron who randomely writes irrelevant messages in many threads of English board for months, as if she was talking to someone. She's an annoying spammer. She always writes irrelevant messages but she pretends to talk or answer to some posts in any thread she posts.
Anyway what she wrote in 470 can be translated as "I think I'll call it a day today. Is there anything I left undone today?" Anyone who are trolled by her say to her "What do you mean?" or "You must have posted in a wrong thread." or something like that. In most cases she doesn't answer them and post an irrelevant things again and again.
I think your interpretation is correct, however I have not heard this expression used much IRL. I'm not an "It" guy at my school but not many people notice me, I don't stick out much. =/ the way I see it if I am at school I want to learn, it's that simple. I don't wish to talk about ridiculous things like a lot of people do. Of course, this means I don't have as many friends as some people but the friends I do have are always interesting to talk to =)
Basically both of them mean he'll be lonely, forever. I'm not sure how big of a thing that is on 2ch, sort of hard to explain what I'm getting at lol. Oh well, let me know if you think you get it.
>>490 Having lots of friends isn't what matters. The important thing is quality of friendship. As long as you enjoy being with your friends. That's enough.
>>493 Sorry, but ronery threads aren't gonna fly in this board. After all, this is a place for langauge learners; we're suppoesed to be learning a tool to "communicate."
>>498 I guess you're a kind of guy who boast about the number of girls you sleep with. Although I doubt you've slept with lots of girls, you know what I mean. It's the quality that matters, not the quantity.
>>497 awesome. I love those kinds of installations. I remember there was one in Berlin a couple of years ago where you could actually call in with a mobile phone and play Pong on it or let your own animations play. http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=JP&hl=ja&v=VYEBB-0CSiw
The built-in spell checker in Firefox 3.0 doesn't work with the extension "bbs2chreader". This really sucks. Anyone know how to get around this issue, or even better add-ons?
Read my lips. HE IS DA REAL. BBC reported thatイギリス人 has decided he'll inscribe "NORIAKI IS DA REAL" on his tomb. In his blood, NORIAKI-ism runs through.
yeah I know, I don't want to turn it in this direction, sorry if it seemed that way =P
But I disagree about your point on learning the language, communication is communication no matter what subject matter we are discussing so it shouldn't matter much as long as we are talking in English, which is what people are here to learn. (I think? lol)
At the beginning does he say something like "Kore wa brand new song..."? I can't hear it clearly, but it would mean "This is a brand new song..." etc., I'd type it in Japanese, but yeah. Vista sucks lol.
He says, "Ore no brand new song," meaning "My brand new song."
Ore no = 俺の 俺は=I 俺の=my 俺を=me
But 俺 is used only by men. This is one of the differences between English and Japanese. I, my and me are used by anyone reagardless of genders. 俺 is used in very casual setting and not many 30ish and older men use it.
It's OK you forget how to use 俺 propery, but don't forget that NORIAKI IS DA REAL.
>>511 If Vista supposedly sucks so hard, stop whining and install Linux already. Then enable Japanese language support and get cracking with your 漢字 and ひらがな and whatnot. One very nice thing about it is that you can choose your system language at login, sort of dipping your toes in before you jump into the cold water. I've completely switched my OS to Japanese last week... and the fact that I'm not half as lost as I thought I would be is pretty motivating.
>>515 Some people here are from a English speaking country. >>511 is Canadian. >>466 is from America. >>462 is from Tennesse.
>>516 Linux isn't for eveyone, is it? You have to type a command to make it work, don't you. Maybe I'm wrong. >>511 seems to be PC literate so he may be able to handle the OS, though.
I don't have courage to change this windows vista to that of English version. It's not about courage, though. All I can do is to buy a PC at a store in Japan so naturally my PC's OS is a Japanese version. I don't bother to buy English version of Windows online.
I work with linux at work, and that's enough =P I've used UNIX architecture for the past 3 years so I thought I'd stick with Vista for a bit. When I'm complaining it's not completely...real, I will figure it out someday but I just think Vista should make it easier. I can get Japanese input but it's messed up, example: クイリラ
It only types in Katakana and I can't get it to change...x_x
Anyway, I'm at a LAN party right now. (Computer party) is this common in Japan? Over here it's not really popular but nerdy people do it a lot lol.
>>457 I don't know what the "average 2cher" is like... but only touhou otaku and shooter otaku play touhou, I think. I have played one touhou game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shoot_the_Bullet I didn't know much about touhou and thought all touhou games were like this one.
Party is not popular in Japan. People rarely have partys. Instead, people get together and drink a lot and talk a lot, and that's not party. If you ask them what they are doing, they don't say they are having a party. They'll say they are drinking.
>>525 What specificly do you do at the LAN party. I have no clues about what it's like. Each particiapnts join it from their own room remotely? Do you use Skype for it?
We only have about 11 people here. We're playing stuff like battlezone, starcraft, etc. I'm not that into these games...but it's good to get out once in a while.
Wow this sounds quite different then here. Over here if I choose to drink with a friend (only 1) we call it a party. Parties can be one person by themselves having a good time =P
>>530 "Small party" is kind of an oxymoron in the engrish language. It has to be gorgeous in a sense. There are a lot of examples like this: Mac is PC, "natives" speak English natively, informations are not legal documents but pieces of knowledge, a mansion is an apartment, bottled water can be canned, water is never warm or hot, Americans are white or black, etc.
Korean guys are real popular in this world. I think it's partly because the world is sort of rotten, I mean, like people are looking for something pure or something that purify themselves by looking at Korean guys. Korean guys are manly, sexy, hot, smart, and beautiful, you know. All the girls see a lot in Korean guys. This happened because Korean Wave dominated the world market including America (north and south), EU nations, Russia, China, Jap, Africa and so on... They've been watching a whole lot of Korean dramas where they enjoy pure love stories. Those girls started to have romantic interest in Korean guys. And I don't blame them. As I said, girls need something pure, something that fills their hearts with romantic emotions... Korean Wave successfully grabbed their hearts. That's why Korean guys are considered the best among girls all over the world today. They would go so far as to say they worship Korean guys. And it's ok with me. Personally, it's only Korean guys that meets their demand. Only Korean guys can embrace their hearts with pure smiles. That's what every girl in this world thinks now. :)
Ah damn, I wanted to post the Official Korean Guy Homepage (a Real Ultimate Power parody) but looks like it's gone now. Damn. I saw it back when Real Ultimate Power was all the rage on the Internet, and one of the parody lines was "Koreans party all the time." if I remember correctly. And there was a pic of a bunch of Korean guys showing off their tanned manly bodies.
Yeah he definitely is, a party doesn't really have to imply that there are a lot of people. Also, an apartment can be a mansion to a person depending on their perspective, etc.
>>534 >>535 I'm not talking about English. But the Japanese version of English. For example, Yuki said an apartment could be a mansion to a person "depending on their perspective," and this clearly shows that a mansion in English is different from マンション. The latter always means an apartment, and a mansion in English is a very large house, whose equivalent would be 豪邸.
They are faux amis, though I don't think any of you know what the term means.
>>535 It's that the truth was revealed that Korean guys are extremely popular among girls all over the world. When girls online talk about Korea, they get carried away. We should know the truth as people of this new era. If we don't, we will surely be left behind the time. I hope you'll have fun talking about Korean Wave. :)
>>544 Are you crazy? It's for real. It's not too much to say Korean Wave has huge influence on girls around the world. This is the truth based on what's happening all over the world. You should admit it.
The "Japanese version of English"? That sounds made up lol. English is English, and I don't think it would vary much even going from USA to Britain. This is what I mean. If you read in a book some poetic line like: "After living on the street for years the apartment was his mansion" people in the US and Britain will get this there is no doubt, even though his house isn't a literal mansion. In my experience, any language shouldn't be taking too literally- this is why translators fuck up. (google translator, etc.)
>>548 It's called a false friend. Are you happy now? And I don't think it's French per se. Its origin may be so, but it's like claiming "en route" isn't English.
But I digress. You're morons. That's it. Wait. No. That's not what I meant. You're smart, handsome guys. It's just you didn't know one small particular thing, and I happened to know it. You don't have to be ashamed or anything. It's totally ok to be an ignora..., um, you're super cool!
>>549 Loan word, if you will. I didn't use the term because 99% of them don't know what it means.
To be precise, what I meant was that most of loan words from English to Japanese fall into the category of false friends, and "party" and "mansion" are good examples.
Yeah right, you're just a pain in the..., uh no, you just can't get the picture I guess. Anyway, "an apartment can be a mansion to a person depending on their perspective, etc.", this disproves your misunderstanding "a mansion in English is a very large house, whose equivalent would be 豪邸.". Move on, buddy.
>>549 Ah, you don't know the literal meaning of a loan word could be different from its source? "mansion" is already considered part of Japanese, but its literal meaning is quite different from the literal meaning of "mansion" in English. The same goes for "party."
English has tons of French/Latin words and a lot of them have different meanings and/or connotations. The same applies to Japanese words derived from English.
An exerpt from "Student Weekly: Thai education entertainment magazine"
>31 Mar 2008 > Lydia: I called my friend who works in a modelling agency and asked if he knew any Korean models, > since Korean guys are popular these days.
Wow, I knew it! Korean guys are popular all around the world!!
I found another message board where people are talking about Korea.
>why korean guys are so attractive?? >ORIGINAL: CertifiedPartyAnimal
>Won Bin and Kimura Takuya look like twins. Yea, Korean guys are not only popular in East Asia but also among Asians in Canada.
>I had asked this Japanese girl who was dating a Korean man why she preferred Korean guys to Japanese guys >(c'mon, we all know the grudges between China, Korea and Japan) and she said, "Because Korean guys are real men."
Wow wow wow!!! Korean guys are popular in Canada and it's over Japs!!
>>557 Didn't look like you were trolling, it was just that you were off the mark, just a little bit. But no worries, quite a few Japanese people claim that sort of thing just to feel good about their mediocre knowleges. So you're right in that one.
WOW WOW WOW A girl from Canada named Tiffany seems quite mesmerised with Korean guys!! She says Korean guys are popular at school!! That's amazing!! Korean Wave rules over Canadian schools!! I'm proud of it!! :)
>Hi! My name is Tiffany and I’m a VIP from Canada! When I grow up, I want to be JiYong’s wife. >A five or six year difference is nothing!? Meh, I know it won’t happen, but I can dream…. *shows fingers(it says BIG BANG on my fingers)* >I wanted to get a tattoo like this, but my mom wouldn’t let me, so I write it on every morning with a permanent marker. I am very obsessed >with Big Bang. Anyways, you guys are awesome!? Big Bang makes me very happy~ I love it when you guys are happy and smile. But when you guys frown, well, > you look very cool and sexy! Big Bang is what made me start to learn Korean. You guys are actually very popular at school. I’ll start off singing >“I’m so sorry” and random people beside me will sing “But I love da geojismar” Sometimes, I’ll just picture meeting you guys in real life, and start giggling. >I scare people when I do that, I hope I’m not scaring you guys. Heh… So thank you for being such a special group, you’re not like those other bands, >Big Bang is very unique and has it’s own style. Thank you for giving us such amazing music. Thank you for trying your very best~ Stay healthy! >I hope that someday I will be able to see you guys at a concert! I love you all very very much! Bye!
This is what I was talking about. The mental images of loan words are really different. If you're grasping the word "knowledge" the English way, you don't pluralize it. It's the Japanese version of English, sir.
>>549 Can I ask why your email address starts with "a"? I thought it could be yukiforyou@... Do you check the mail box periodically? I might be interested in sending an email. Maybe we could talk via skype or something.
The one friend who introduced me to this crowd, I have been friends with him for about 8 years. The other guys I sort of only know through him. It's at one of his friends house, I took some pictures if I figure out how to use bluetooth\ to upload them I'll post them tomorrow.
>>562 Yes, Korean guys are quite popular here in Canada. Canadian girls are interested in Korean guys because they look sexy. Why could we not influenced by Korean Wave? It's impossible!!
>>562 Don't treat Canada as if it's the only fan of Korean guys. There are many other girls who are interested in Korean guys. French girls have great interest in Korean guys as well.
>>571 No! Canadian girls are more interested in Korean guys than American girls are! Don't try to steal Korean guys from us Canadian girls! That's disgusting of you!
>>570-572 Calm down, girls. Korean guys know they are popular where you are, so please don't argue over which country is contributing to Korean popularity. :) Korean guys will be nice to Canadian/American/French girls or whatever race you are. Korean guys are really nice and romantic, so don't you worry about that. I don't want guys from other countries to get angry at Korean guys just because they are not popular with girls... That's what I'm afraid of. Be that as it may, it feels really good to have as many girls claiming their love to Korean guys. I'm proud of it. Thank you, girls from all over the world! :)
>>580 But it doesn't make sense if the poster is actually Korean. If that's the case, all those posts only make the Koreans look retarded. I suspect he or she is a poor Japanese or something trying very hard to pretend to be a pathetic Korean.
>>577 You just don't know what's happening on the Internet. American girls have interest in Korean guys. We shouldn't let Canadian girls take over us and give them a chance to get a Korean guy. American girls should be in the position of dating Korean guys. They are all ours.
>>581 So you are a Jap? Let me hear your opinion on >>562. The surging popularity of Korean guys have already affected even young Canadian girls. How do you take it? Do you finally admit Korean guys are popular among girls all over the world? You should. And I don't see anything pathetic about this Korean guy's post. It's more like the truth was mirrored in his post. You can't take it? lol
>>584 What? You can pretend to be illiterate in any language. Are you sure the poster is able to read Korean? Besides, just because a poster can read Korean doesn't mean he or she is Korean.
>>587 What are you saying? Koreans are stupid? You exposed your ignorance here. Korean people achieve good scores on the worldwidely conducted tests. Korean people are hardworking and intelligent. The results of those tests are far better than those of Japs. Didn't you know that? lol It's you who are stupid, moron.
>>586 you're so naive. you judge people by the japanese way of thinking. japanese take people of any races as having no true malicious motives. and that's what makes japanese foreign policies much weaker than the neighboring countries, such as china and korea.
>>596 You are understandable. You can find good friends anywhere you go. :) It's not a dream you can befriend a Korean guy as an added bonus. Even if you are a guy, you can boast about that. lol I'm just kidding. :)
>>596 At least you should read the book called, "売国奴" by three authors from China, Taiwan and South Korea. The book treat the history, politics, culture and a lot of problems concerning the East Asian nations and their peoples. Highly recommended!
>>600 Why? What did you enjoy? I have no idea why you say so suddenly. Anyway, do you want to learn Korean? I think there are some Korean lesson videos on youtube. Want to watch one?
Korean guys are happy to be friends with a cute girls who are interested in Korean guys. :)
>>582 I know what's happening on the Internet. But isn't it a duty those who knows it should let those who don't know what's happening on the Internet? Of course, I'm really thankful to you that you showed your loyalty to us.. I'm quite impressed. So please keep at it. :)
I don't want to feed any trolls, but I am anyway. Fuck it.
This is sort of ridiculous, I hope you guys (Japanese or Korean) realize that I have NEVER heard a Canadian girl specifically talk about how she likes a Korean guy, or an Asian guy at all. If they do say that, then they're likely fat and like to watch naruto. It is more common to hear them talk about Europeans, and I find this sort of strange but I've been seeing more black guys going out with white girls.
However they don't even mention the arabs lol. But yeah, I live here. Trust me- they don't talk about you guys as much as >>578>>582 etc., might have you believe. They're bullshitting. Come back to me with some English girls posting on an actual BBS (like 2ch or similar) and I might believe it.
I'm not even too concerned, but damn you guys run in a circle with this shit lol. No one is getting real facts it seems.
>>606 Ah, you wanted to say, "Don't judge a book by its cover." You have a point there. But sorry, I already have tons of books that I know are worth reading.
>>610 I'm quite surprised at the fact there are still a person who can't search for the info... No offence, but I'm dumbfounded now. You can find a lot of girls exclaiming their love for Korean guys. That Tiffany girl from Canada is an example. Probably this is what people call digital devide... But you are lucky. You are finally updated on what's happening on the Internet. :)
>>613 It seems yours is rotten, though. With all the evidence, you still can't, or just don't want to, see the truth there is. How sad. We should make some people like you see the truth...
Oh shit lol I didn't even see that. Sorry. The reason it has "a" is because it's "A Yuki For You" The account was originally created for one person only...so it was a sort of personal thing, but we fell out of contact and now I use it for other things. I guess it's "a" because I'm not really Yuki. If I was it could be "The Yuki For You"... hm...oh well. I check the e-mail account about every 5 hours, 8 hours max. (Cuz I sleep, lol.) I will always respond, and if someone writes me I will write back.
I'll try to read each post more carefully, I'm sort of tired lol. Been up almost 24 hours now.
>>618 Ah, so "a" is an article as in "a gift for you"
As for missing my post, it's ok, especially when we're in a Korean shitstom.
Wait. Writing this post, I've got a hunch the account was for a guy and you two were having, um, online "intercourse." Um, no, nothing. Forget I said anything...
Anyway, I'll email you from my personal account later.
>>623 Wat. If I remember correctly, he's a Canadian guy who faps to lolis. What makes you think so? I never thought he could be a she. No girls on the internet. Period.
>>508 Close, but no. I want to have a mausoleum built for when I die, leading down to a crypt. Instead of just a tombstone, there could be statues of Noriaki and COOL TAK guarding either side of the entrance. It would be the Eighth Wonder of the World.
Heading to Russia in a month and a half, for a short while. Just to Moscow and Saint Petersburg, but will hopefully be interesting...
>>627 Very tempting... I'd love to take that journey, but there's just not enough time. I get 28 days leave from my job per year, but have to take 2 weeks off in the winter when the company closes for Christmas and New Year, and paid holiday is deducted from public holidays too. So there's just over a week remaining...
>>626 I've been to Russia once and it sucked. My Russian friend from Moscow agreed. Make sure you're always with your Russian friends while you're there. Don't trust strangers. Those fuckers are trying to take advantage of you.
Take a cab and you don't speak Russian? You'll be scammed. Got in trouble and call the police? The police will swindle you.
One thing I was really pissed off was that I had to report to authorities where I was everyday during my trip. This kind of thing was taken care of by my inviter because I was invited by a governmental body. But why the heck do I have to tell them where I am and what I'm doing everyday? I don't know if the same policy is applied to Britons, but they don't seem to believe foreigners.
That said, the scenery was spectacular and some buildings were quite exotic. Most people, especially younger Russians will be nice to you. If you're going to Moscow and other famous places just for a short vacation, it'll be nice and worth it.
>>581 Actually, many Korean people are watching and posting in 2ch. Funny thing is, Korean newspapers write articles based on what 2ch'ers talk about. That means Korean newswriters keep an eye on 2ch. If my memory serves me, postings in 2ch from Korea and China have been increasing. I saw official 2ch data somewhere before. Korean F5 attacks sometimes happens like when Korea lost a sport match.. I remember they did when Mao Asada won the figure skating competition months ago. No wonder English speaking Koreans pay a visit here.
Hmm, swine flu seems big news in Japan today. Those who are infected have been increasing. Don't know how situations in other countries. How is it in America, England, Canada, Germany and any others?
>>631 Nope. I went to Russia. As for reporting, all Japanese citizens must do that. See your travel guide.
You may not know, but you can't enter Russia without a visa. If you don't have a friend in the country, it's nearly impossible to go for a free trip. Some travel agencies offer packed Russian tours, but still you can't travel freely. If you enter the country as a tourist, you can't buy a train ticket for a long journey. Only your travel agent can. So if you change your travel plan, you have to report it to the authorities, otherwise you can't return to Japan lol.
For example, if you go on a trip set up by a tour company, you have all vouchers before you enter the country. If you catch a cold and miss a train you planned to get on, you have to explain it to the local police so you can buy the ticket for the next train and book a hotel. (I guess your travel agent would take care of it.) Also, they check your passport and make sure you stayed at the hotel you planned to. Yes, you have to get a stamp on your passport when you stay at a hotel and you can't change the place you stay at.
It may sound crazy, but Russia and Japan don't have friendly relations.
By "free trip", I mean a travel that you plan freely by yourself as opposed to a package tour. How do I say it in English? I've never thought of this. Ha ha.
>>636 In English "free trip" implies that all or near all expenses of the trip are free of cost money wise. I think you mean a trip where one can move about freely at one's own will? I do not think we have a word for this in English, maybe "a non-packaged tour"?
>>638 by saying "tour" it seems to imply that you have some sort of tour arranged. It seems to me that the way we speak about this in English, is that we say "going on a trip to x" and it is assumed no tour unless specified. Often then one may ask the person who is going on the trip if there is a tour involved.
A conversation may look something like this:
"I am going (on a trip) to Germany!" "Oh? That is cool, do you have a tour guide arranged?" "Nope."
>>642 that would just be "going on a trip" then, or just "going to x".
although you may hear in British English people saying "I am going to tour France". (verb) Such a statement is less common, but not completely unused, in North American English. We would just say, "I'm going to France" or "I'm going on (a) vacation to France". or "I'm going (on a trip) to France"
Once again in Brit Eng this would be, "I'm going on holiday to France".
In most cases we tend not to use "tour" as the word for the trip itself (verb), unless specified that there will be a tour (noun).
In most cases we use the word tour to indicate that some sort of formal agency is giving a tour, which would be a pre-planned rout around a location often with a person called a tour guide.
So to use myself as an example, I have gone on many trips through out the United States, but very few of them involved any formal tours. I normally just go and wander around myself.
>>643 So in the final analysis, there's no opposite noun phrases oppopsite to "package tour", isn't it?
You travel by car staying at a motel or something? I've heard of Route 66 know as the mother road. It sounds like fun traveling from east to Clifornia, staying at motel and visiting small towns. Maybe I would be mugged by a biker gang.
>>647 haha I really doubt that a biker gang would mug you. Route 66 is still a famous road in this nation, but it is no longer a mother road. once the modern interstate highway system was completed here the road was cut off. there is more than one rout 66. the one made famous is the cut off one that does not go anywhere interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U.S._Route_66
The word you're looking for is "Backpacking" basically you just take some stuff with you to whatever country and go have fun, it's arranged all yourself etc., it doesn't mean you have to take only a backpack however. This sort of vacation is more popular in Europe. (Not to scare you, but if you've seen the movie "Hostel" that's about backpackers that go and get killed lol)
>>630 Thanks very much for the advice - I've heard some of that too, especially about the police. There are so many videos on YouTube of dancing Russian police officers. As far as I know, they only need my itinerary for the visa application. The whole reporting your location thing seems pretty strange, though.
I do speak Russian (to an extent, anyway), and will be with a local most of the time, so hopefully things won't be too rough. I'm still not sure what their view on Britons are, either, as we've had some turbulent relations in the past, such as with the polonium poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko in London, and the murder of Georgi Markov with a poison-tipped umbrella.
Yes we do, I'm not going to mine. 6500\ just for one ticket...it wouldn't really be worth it. All we'll do is listen to some shit rap songs (bitches don't know about noriaki) and then maybe go to some party afterwards, I might go to the party but I don't feel like paying that much to just eat dinner with people I'll never see again.
I don't think there is much of a difference between an American prom and a Canadian prom, except Americans have it earlier.
What about Japanese high schools, do they have prom? How does this normally go? I know when they took a survey over here they found out that a large percent of girls lost their virginity on prom night lol.
>>658 The reporting location thing might already be abandoned, I don't know. It was like 5 years ago. After all, Russia and Japan have long been arguing about the sovereignty over part of territory and we're sharing boarders.
At that time, all Japanese who wanted to go to Russia for a vacation needed to get all vouchers for your hotels, flights (domestic/international), between-city-trains, and so on. For instance, you couldn't get a flight/train ticket, say, from Moscow to Saint Petersburg by yourself so you should tour around according to your vouchers, i.e., everything had to be preplanned. They check the stubs of your vouchers and stamps on your passport that records where you stayed at a given night.
I was there for my job so everything was taken care of by the governmental institute that invited us. As far as I know, they did the same or similar thing to my German friend and Koean friends. Some visitors from Europe weren't required to get stamps or invitation letters. UK might be one of them? Or perhaps, Russia has loosened the tight policy against foreigners.
By the way, what's "preplan"? I've head this word like 100000 times so I kind of know what it means, but you don't "postplan," right? Isn't "plan" enough? You don't plan for something after you completed it. So why "pre"?
I think you wanted to say "I am sucking my dick." You should put -ing form at the end of "suck" because there is a be verb before it. And I also think that you should put "my" in front of "dick" so that we know whose dick you're sucking.
If you can somehow bend your body so that your mouse can suck your dick, there won't be any newborn babies in this world. It is not that I know how it is to suck my own dick.
The swine flu is breaking out in Japan as we speak!! It's gonna be a pandemic of gigantic propotion!! But there is little to no possibility of me dying, because I don't go out, never!! Who'd thought it turned out I would be the sole winner of this survival race called life!!
The only reason he had to report his location to the authorities was because after he sucked one officer's dick, other officers heard about it and wanted free BJs too. The lesson here is never to suck their dicks if you want to travel freely in Russia.
>>659 There's no proms here. I think the time high schoolers lose their virgin is in summer vacation. But high school students who go to high school tend to lose virgin in uni or later or never, because Japanese entrance exams for prestigious uni is tough and they have to study hard and have not time to seeing anybody.
I was asked to go out with by a few girls when I was a high school kid but I refused them, because partly they were ugly, partly I had to study hard and had not time to see a girl.
>>686 Finally, I have come to the conclusion that it's you that is so mesmerised with Korean guys that you can't stop going after them on the internet, and romanticising their cocks. I'm so proud of it. :)
>>694 hey, thats wrong. you know, in my school, every koreans are really good at all subject, like math science and english etc. they study really hard. so yea.... i just wanted you to know the truth.
>>665 At least for the UK, you only need an invitation letter when you're staying with friends or relatives in Russia, rather than at a hotel. I've heard some things about this land dispute, though. What's so important about the Kuril islands?
And as for "preplan", I think it was mentioned in an article on the BBC website not so long ago. The article was based on people being asked to send in their most hated 'business lingo', of which "preplan" was one example. Just found the article again... it's number 15 on this list:
>>711 I don't know why some of us care about the islands either. I venture a guess that in 20 years no one gives a crap about it. We lost them when the last world war ended, and that's it.
And thanks for the interesting list. So it's not just me who takes issue with "preplan." Among those phrases listed there, I'm fed up with "at the end of the day" too. It's like I hear it at least 5 times in a day!
Reading my own post, I think I should have said "5 times a day," instead of "5 times in a day." I don't know why, but the letter sounds more like "there was a day when I heard it 5 times." Hmm... Is that right? I just feel it and can't explain why I think so.
"5 times a day," and "5 times in a day." u can use both, they hav the same meaning anyway btw dont u notice that "It's like I hear it..." is gramatically wrong?
Did you know a comdeian Hitoshi Matsumoto, a member of Downtown, has gotten married? His gf is pregnant and nothigng about her is reported except she's not in show business.
>>716 any one who cant spell you correctly is an idiot and not worth listenin 2
>btw dont u notice that "It's like I hear it..." is gramatically wrong? i dunno i here it like 1000 times everyday and i myself say it.
Seriously, it's as pedantic as claiming "And I was like, 'Right on!', and he was like 'Cool beans!'" is ungrammatical. Have you ever hard this joke:
Freshman: Excuse me, where’s the library at? You: You are at Harvard now, dear fellow, and at Harvard, we do NOT end our sentences with prepositions. Freshman: OK, where’s the library at, asshole?
>>720 It's faily complicated, as there are so many conflicting interpretations of a bunch of treaties regarding the islands. I can't give you a lecture on this, since I don't care too much about it either. So, read this yourself if you're interested. http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%8C%97%E6%96%B9%E9%A0%98%E5%9C%9F
>>723 I don't believe articles on Wikipedia if they're about controversial issues. Besides, it's written in Japanese and most likely heavily biased toward Japan.
>>734 I might be interested if that was from a university, the authorities or something along the line. In that case, I think biased information can be useful as well. But Wikipedia? I like how stupid you are lol. Oh, and I don't give a shit about the islands any more than I do about Koreans.
>>735 If you don't give a shit, then just shut up. In >>720 you ask stuff, then someone posts info and you outright refuse it just because it's WIkipedia? So you'd rather remain ignorant than get some info on Wiki? Seriously forget universities and authorities, you arn't nearly as smart as you think you are.
>>737 I didn't ask anything, retard. it's a rhetorical question. Do you know what it means? (Just in case you're too dumb to understand what I'm getting at, but this interrogative sentence you just read is a rhetorical question, too.)
>>738 That's what I thought you would say. Rhetorical question. But I just couldn't be arsed to come up with better wordings. Just forget that part, and you are still a smart ass holier than thou idiot.
Hey guys, I tried to get all the bluetooth shit setup on the computer but I guess I don't have the proper connection stuff- so next LAN party I'll bring my real camera (not my cellphone) so I can get better resolution anyway.
Sure, this is a picture of my room with the blacklights on. Ignore the date on the camera...I never set the camera clock lol. That pic is only 2 months old http://i43.tinypic.com/b7ym3o.jpg
I watch subtitled only. The voice acting in dubs are bad and I don't like waiting 5 years to watch anime. (We just got azumanga over here like 2 years ago, wtf?)
>>748 I think he meant a photo of the LAN party, niether those of your room nor landscape. If I remember correctly, you said you upload a photo of the party.
today I went to the beach, but it seems that some high schools which were local had just graduated and were celebrating en masse at the same beach.
(these were predominantly black schools)
Anyways, not surprisingly, it didn't take long before several police cars showed up and started having to arrest some idiots which were vandalizing cars and property. a riot nearly broke out because all the black kids believed the cops were arresting some of the criminals on account of racial issues.
Ohhhhhhhh okay, I thought he just meant in general because he wanted to see a quality difference or something. Yeah, I didn't bring my camera to the LAN party so that's why I said next time- which will probably be 2~3 weeks.
Yes, they are taken with my cellphone. The only way to upload them is with bluetooth which I don't have, so yeah that's the problem =P my regular camera connects with USB so when I take pictures with that it is easy to upload them to the computer.
>>748 >I watch subtitled only. The voice acting in dubs are bad and I don't like waiting >5 years to watch anime. (We just got azumanga over here like 2 years ago, wtf?)
I know how you feel. They should release subs/dubs much quicker, if not simultaneously.
By the way, if you're interested in the Japanese language, I stumbled on this new forum for English/Japanese learners who love anime.
It's still very small and only has 20-ish members as of now (most of them are Japanese, I think).
The forum is meant to be a place where you discuss anime, language, etc. and ask questions if you have trouble understanding lines in your favorite anime dubbed in your target language. Some members including me are transcribing our favorite shows and uploading the transcripts, so I don't think you'd have trouble communicating with Japanese members in English.
This transcribing thing may not be that useful if you're a beginner, but having friends who have the same interest won't hurt your language skills, right? Besides, you can ask any questions. I mean, you can talk about anything from anime to the Japanese language to completely off-topic things like lolis, DFC...
Ah, but I digress. If you're interested, drop by the forum and say hello to us. We need more members, and a Canadian guy whose handle name is Yuki is more than awesome.
I don't know how many of you are interested in anime, but if you are, why not take a look at the forum? I vaguely remember one of Japanese posters said he was interested in anime, and at least one American poster said he liked Black Lagoon (I do, too!).
Anyway, I don't want to sound pushy. If you think it might be of interest, I'll be waiting for you. My handle name over there is magamo.
i just watched the extended version of the movie The Da Vinci Code. twas quite good. takes me years to get around to watching movies. tv shows too. i only just finished the tv show Firefly but a week ago, then the movie. next weekend my brother and i plan on marathoning all the the remake of the tv show Battlestar Golactica. this will take us quite some time. i look forward to it.
I watched The Da Vinci Code in English a few years back and could barely follow the plot. I wonder how much I can understand it now.
Come to think of it, I couldn't follow simple news or even cartoons back then. Now I don't think they're difficult or anything, though I can't say it's as easy as watching Japanese media. It seems I've made great progress when it comes to English. It's scary to think how much my horrible pronunciation had been hurting my friends' ears!
>>756 Although the handle name sounds girly, it's he, meaning he has penis.
Talking about penis, I somehow finger mine while web surfing and reading English artciles quite often at home. This cause a trouble when I read English newspaper at library. When I strat reading it, I feel restless. I didn't know at first where the feeling is coming from. After a seconds of thinking abuot it, I got an answer. I want to finger my penis even at library as I always do at home.
Seems like in my brain, the combinatinon of reading English and fingering my penis is established. Of course I can't put my hand in my pants at library so have to resist the urge. Very annoying.
>>760 Don't forget, he's got his own way of getting free rides by vacuuming foreign cocks, so leave him alone. Unfortunately, it didn't work in Russia, though.
Oh woops, yeah to answer your question I might check it out, sort of busy right now with senior exams coming up and what not but I'll probably be able to make a few posts. I bookmark'd it.
Why do Japanese often have weak computers? Where are all the Japanese otaku with amazing computers? Is this a western thing? Come on, Japanese, I thought you liked technology! Come on, otaku, I thought you liked video games!
>>788 I have read many periodicals and interviews with Japanese technology enthusiasts. It's my understanding that some modern Japanese homes do not even own a personal computer, let alone a computer for each member of the household. This is very different than the current western technology trend, where every family member is generally expected to have their own computer. I just thought it would be an interesting thing to question on here.
>>789 You're confusing the average Japanese with the average tech-savvy who would be excited about a ridiculously tiny netbook made by Sony or something. I know if your 8" netbook sports 1600 x 768 resolution, it's quite a gadget. But I don't think people with common sense would buy it.
Also, powerful PCs that are HUGE and not sleek are definitely not cool. Americans might love them; I heard they wanted everything including cocks to be tough, large, and manly.
As for the current western technology trend, it sure is different from ours. For example, the dial-up connection to the internet is obsolete and sounds like 10-years-ago technology here. My internet speed is 100Mbps, but when I was living in the US, the local ISP called 1Mbps a super fast connection lol.
Also I don't think all the spi..., people of Hispanic descent and black people in the US own modern computers.
>>792 Homophobia and racism in the same retort, wow! It's like I never left an English forum.
I don't know what decade you're referring to, but a "powerful PC" is a desktop machine by just about anyone's standards. I was referring to the capability of the components. Who said you needed Big Iron to play video games, though? If you say a midsize tower case is "HUGE," you're disagreeing with an international technical standard, oops. You can invent your own parts to fit inside of your magical Japanese tiny-cool-case.
You've got us on current bandwidth limits. For what it's worth, though, the Japanese were incredibly late to the Internet game. And what is it with the popularity of Yahoo! in Japan? I've read it's because Japanese like the Yahoo "portal" service which allows a single company to accommodate a customer's every demand. Homie don't play that, Yahoo is a joke in any other country. Why can't you use Google like the rest of the world?
>>790 My name? I'm not a kotehan. I'll stay anonymous for now, I think.
>>793 I learned English from Americans, so it stands to reason that my post contains homophobia and racism, with stupid grammar thrown in for good measure.
You seem to prefer more capable components such as a higher clock CPU, a faster GPU, more RAM, and so on. But they are not going to fly in Japan because most of us think they are illogical and unnecessary; gaming on PCs is less common here and sounds more nerdy and uncool. The same goes for SUV. You drive SUV in Japan and you look retarded because it's totally illogical to drive a powerful 4WD on a safe paved street.
And as for the internet technology, yes, we are way behind and developing a unique culture. So what? Internet isn't that big of a deal in Japan. Are you living on the internet or something? You sound like you have no life. Generally speaking, girls don't care how long you have developed an epenis under your belt.
Oh, I almost forgot. Certainly yahoo is relatively popular here and you might think it's strange, but it's like calling Americans retarded just because they are fat and love junk foods. I know Americans have huge asses and still eat more, but I don't say they should change their diet. Some are fat, and some are not. Idiots are everywhere. The same applies to the Japanese. Some prefer Yahoo, and some don't. Ignorance is rampant.
>>798 Same old, same old. That's fine on an anonymous board.
By the way, do you think one of the trolls is actually an American? I thought he's the troll who spams about the Korean, but I can't tell from his posts.
You might be able to pick up on some idiosyncratic writing style that I can't recognize.
>>800 Could this be another difference in online culture between Japan and the US? Most people don't know what irc is in Japan. Hmm. I venture a guess that it's not very popular among normal guys/gals in the US either, is it?
>>802 I'm assuming the Korean spammer = the Japanese troll who uses foul language = this alleged American = 50% of stupidity in this thread. I may not be right on the money, but I don't think my guess is completely wrong either.
>>805 Thanks. So its popularity is basically the same. My understanding is that if you're Japanese and use irc, you're either a heavy online gamer or a tech-savvy who is everyone's tech support. I was using irc years ago, but since I don't use it often, I just didn't install any irc client when I bought a new machine.
>>804 Actually, you are wrong. Probably completely. You people should stop with your who's that pokemon. I imitated the Korean a few times with some clues and giveaways (both intentionally and due to my limited Eng skills), and some people still couldn't tell. Also, I have seen other people using words and phrases I frequently use, and vice versa. This happens often in this thread, so don't even try identifying pokemons here. It doesn't work most of the time, especially with your weak analyzing skills.
>>809 You pretended to be the Korean spammer a few times? So my guess was sort of right. I wonder why you're hostile to others. Somehow it seems my post always gets an offensive reply from the bellicose person. Why are you so insecure and defensive? Weird.
>>808 Couldn't find the /g/tv webpage. My google skills got rusty. I find a g/tv/ playlist page and found a rizon web irc client, but it just doesn't accept "/join #/g/tv." Well, maybe I'll take a look later.
>>810 Who is this bellicose person you speak of? Like I said, there are a horde of offensive people in this thread, it's not one person. I only go foul and or offensive when I see some stupidity, such as people thinking the Korean spammer is doing half the troll work here. And even then, it's only a few times a month that I do this.
>>816 Like I said (probably in broken English), I post rude comments only a few times a month, which is not "always". When you quit saying stupid things, I'll stop being rude to you.
>>817 In my opinion there's nothing wrong with being rude every single time you open your mouth or bring your fingers to the keyboard. To hell with proprieties and manners! Damned scum the lot of you! Back to hades!
>>831 Living near school doesn't mean you arrive at school in time. That's kind of funny. That's the same here in Japan. Students who go to school by one hour train ride don't come to school late, while students live near their school come to school late.
The desperate stories went on and on; the stories about a girl who was raped by her uncle, children who died caused by influenza virus, two couples that exchange their wives and a man who got crazy with his wife's affair.
People say Korean guys are smart, gentle, hot, sexy, and attractive. I like to see girls all around the world talk about Korean guys on the Internet. They ask each other why Korean guys are so mesmerising, and through heated discussions, they often come to the conclusion that Korean guys look manly and hot and romantic. It's really nice to see girls express their love for Korean guys. :) Even I have to admit that the most popular people in the world today must be Korean. :)
Has nyone here ever committed suicide? I have 53 times. You get used to it after the first 3 times or so. In fact, now, for me to be able to fall asleep I always have to commit suicide before going to bed, or I just lie there awake.
>>849 If you killed yourself, you can't get out of problem you have now. I mean if you commit suicid your body dead but your spirit isn't dead. So, you have to stay with your problem forever if you commit suicide or not. The problem is your weakness. That's what you have to know.
>>849 I'm thinking of killing myself but have never tried it. Are you serious about 53 times suicide attempts? Where did you tried commiting suicide and how? Did an ambulance come to rescure you?
Why didn't you use any measure to kill your youself without fail? I think there's a way in which you never fail to kill yourself.
suicide is sad. therere things which make you want to die living in this fucking world. but all is not fucking. faith is within your reach. go out to find faith, you will find it in some people you come across in one day. its the way how bible talks. listen to jesuss word. you won't fail to have yourself out of no hope. believe that as long as you ask therell be no despair. hope can go with you all your life.
Human being's a worthless thing So I don't have to remain human Humans have a lot of bugs All humans want to be remembered...not just want, they need that They need that as a prove that they were here some day Like it matters that they were here or not And also as a proof that they exist... If no one remember you...That means you weren't here And you didn't exist Maybe That's the main motive to all human's activity So that it will be hard not to care about it But because there's no one care that's not a good idea to be remembered A human's asking another human to remember him while he won't do it...
So you shouldn't be afraid of losing your body... you'll just go to that world.
It is pretentious enough to be from a popular anime. Popular because it is pretentious. People can pretend they have a deeper understanding of life. Everyone knows that people believe they will live on in memory anyway.
So the other day I was like WHAAAAA and my friend was like WHAAAAA and then we shot the squirrel and it was like WHAAAAA and then we were all like WHAAAAA
That's awesome. It's really funny how the guy in the white jacket put up his fists thinking that that is a boxing stance and the girl's boyfriend just punched through it and probably broke his nose.
No, it's from a Japanese person who tried to translate it into English. I actually cleaned it up lol. The original text document is full of errors.
I have a question...I'm practicing reading my Kanji and this is the first thread right now: 英語喉と英語鼻で発音改善! (I copy paste'd, still can't type in Japanese D=)
But does this actually say "Improving English pronunciation in your nose and throat by singing in English"? I think it's something like that but the topic seems strange so I'm not sure.
>>867 There's nothing written in Japanese like singing, but the translation is right except it. It's more like "Improving English pronunciation with English throat and nose. Some Japanese English (pronunciation, listening, reading, speaking practice) textbooks started using terms like "English brain, throat, tongue, ears etc..." about 5 years ago? Anyway, the editors who invented the terms must have meant "English brain" as being a brain that understands English without translating English into Japanese in your head, "English throat or tongue" as being a tongue that moves smoothly like English speakers when speaking English, etc... They use such terms for advertisement's purpose. So there's no wonder you felt such topics seems strange. I don't post in a thread like that. lol
Personally, I recommend to you to read other threads. lol What do you like to do? Do you like video games, PC games, sports, J-pop? Or are there anything Japanese that interest you like politics, celebs, dramas, etc...?
>>867 The thread title can be translated as "(Let's) improve English pronuciation with English throat method and English nose method!"
One book titled English throat (meathod) is publishd and in the book, the author advocates it's how you use your throat that counts to pronounce English properly.
There isn't a book titled English nose (method) but someone advocates how you use your nose properly also is the key to pronounce like native English speakers. I think the person who advocates it thinks nasal sound is the key. Not sure though. I think the thread is a place where you discuss how to pronounce English properly with the two methods.
As far as I know any thread where you talk about English pronuciation tends to be a stage of verbal abuses and commotion, like who pronounces English best, whose method is the best. This happens because Japanese English learners have more or less inferior complex about their English pronunciation.
I like trance music, heavy metal music, computers, anime, philosophy (existentialism in particular) and Japanese culture in general.
Yeah I bookmark'd the anime board but I'm not an expert yet x.x it took me about 7 minutes to figure out that thread title and it was even wrong after that lol. I should stop browsing 2ch for a bit though...I'm suppose to be doing an essay for school =/
Korean guys are extremely popular among girls all over the world. An extremely large number of girls today are quite interested in Korea, Korean culture, and Korean guys. Korean anime, Korean manhwa, Korean online games, Korean dramas, Korean music, Korean foods and everything!! All the girls around the world can't get them out of their heads. K-pops are stuck in their heads because Korean music are real catchy, and people say they love K music. :) Anyways, those Korean cultures are called Korean Wave in English. The Wave has great influence all over the world now, such as in America, Canada, Russia, Europe, Japan, China, west and south east asia, Australia and so on. Many Korean guys feel they are welcome all over the world thanks to Korean Wave. You know, non-K girls are desparate to see a Korean guy because Korean guys are sexy, hot, romantic and gentle. It's really nice to see girls getting excited when they meet a Korean guy. Korean guys are horribly popular among girls. I like it the way they express their emotions towards Korean guys. :)
Wow, Seattle Times - one of the most influencial news agencies in the world - said about 3 years ago Korean Wave has great influence on America already.. How impressive! With the process of Korean Wave continuing for 3 years since then, it goes without saying most American girls have already been bugged with the wave. I see.. That's why I often see on the Internet American girls who claim Korean guys are the sexiest things ever. American girls are proud of Korean guys. :)
A person who goes by the name "ccc", made a mashup album of all the songs from The Beatles' "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".
I thought it would be weird at first, but it turns out that it's seriously good, although a little eccentric.
Here's a .torrent for the entire album. I don't know if the songs are properly labeled, though. I had a link to a tar.gz containing the all the songs, and labeled as well, but the site it's on is currently unresponsive.
However, if anyone wants a link to the tar.gz file later, just ask.
As an American girl, I think Korean guys look electric. I can't live a single day without Korean Wave! I'm enthusiastic when watching Korean dramas. Many friends of mine say the same thing.
>>880 Aren't you kidding? Korean Wave is more popular here in Canada than in America. American girls don't have the right to be a fan of Korean guys. :( There are many Korean guys in Canada and they are hotter than anyone else. But keep in mind we don't let you American girls steal our Korean guys. YOU CAN'T!!!!
>>881 Don't be ridiculous. Some Korean guys are living in America as well. And we don't let you Canadian girls steal our Korean guys!!! Korean guys are considered they epitomize the word sexy, and they are exclusively popular in America! Don't say they are only yours, you disgusting slut!
>>880-882 Just calm down, girls. I know how very popular Korean guys are both in America and in Canada. Both of the two nations are big fans of Korean Wave and Korean guys. Yeah, Korean guys know that. It's ok. Korean guys wouldn't be happy if their fans bickered at each other for Korean guys. Korean guys are happy to see their fans having the time of their lives watching/meeting/dating Korean guys. So be friends, ok? Anyway, caucasian girls are really aggressive and straightforward, I'm impressed. Why don't you try to ask out a Korean guy? Yes, you can!
>>883 Asking out a Korean guy!? Gee, I'll get nervous. Korean guys are too sexy to get near... I think I'll faint or nose bleed. lol I'm not aggressive as you think I am.. I hope Korean guys will notice where I am. How can I draw their attention?
>>884 Hahaha, don't be shy! Just smile and ask if he has time to spare for you. Korean guys are known to be gentle and romantic. So don't worry just one bit. :) Good luck!
>>878 Have you visited 2chan? It's the original image boards moot ripped off of, so you might find it more familiar. Attached images would help you understand context for obvious reasons. The UI is quite similar to 4chan, though there isn't any add-on or greasemonkey script for the boards.
It's extremely frustrating to read until you get the hang of colloquial grammar and vocab, but it might be worth browsing once in a while. I rarely browse 2chan, but 4chan's /a/ recommended 二次元裏 (There are 4-5 二次元裏 boards including hidden ones, and any of them is ok according to /a/nons with massive powerlevel).
The Korean wave has even reached Africa. The Zimbabwe women like Korean guys more than any other men. They are unhappy with Zimbabwe men, so they are planning to travel to Korea to marry all the Koreans. I am proud of it :)
Yeah, I've been there but I can't post and I've also heard they tend to hm...be "not so nice" towards foreigners. Made this is just a stereotype? That's what everyone says on English boards anyway, I think what really happens though is a weeaboo goes to post there and then becomes upset when they don't care very much about naruto.
>>906 As far as I know, they're nice guys and pretty much immune to trolling. Occasionally, especially in the so-called summer 4chan phase, 2chan is raided by newfags and undeageb& idiots from 4chan, but they just ignore them. I don't think your nationality matters. What really matters is your post, I think.
Of course, most of them don't speak English, so if you post in English and are unlucky, your post may be ignored. Sure, if not being able to speak English counts as not being so nice, then they're definitely assholes.
>Occasionally, especially in the so-called summer 4chan phase, 2chan is raided by newfags and undeageb& idiots from 4chan ...What? Why would anyone from 4chan care about 2chan at all? Especially considering they need a Japanese proxy (that isn't already blocked) just to post. In the entirety of 2008 I've only seen two threads that even linked to 2chan.
>>909 well, what do you think why 2chan banned non-jp IPs in the first place? By the way, 4chan, in turn, used to deny access to Japanese and Russian IPs. I also know a French and a Chinese chan, both of which don't allow foreign IPs to submit posts. A German imageboard I know requires foreign visitors to fill in a captcha. All of it mainly because the only thing certain kinds of channers ever do on a board whose language they don't understand is trolling, spamming and flooding.
>Korean pop culture, including dramas and music, is spreading throughout Mexico. >The Korean Culture Center there is packed with people every Saturday. >Ola Coreana en Mexico is a Korean culture fan club, which hopes to learn >about and get a feel for Korean culture at the center.
Wow, I didn't know Mexican people, probably mainly composed of girls, are big fans of Korean Wave!! Come to think of it, it's quite natural for them to be interested in Korea, you know, Mexico is neighboring to America, where many girls are mesmerised with Korean guys!! I'm proud of it! :)
>Europeans Snapping Up New Korean Phones >A new wave of Korean mobile phones is sweeping the globe
Seems like Europian girls can't live a single day without korean high-tech products, either. That's good news. I think this treand will lay a ground work for the surging popurity of Korean guys all over the world. I'm proud of it. :)
No, them not speaking English doesn't count as "not being nice" Why would I go to a board I know is in a different language and expect them to speak English? I think people who do this are retarded.
And like I said, I think the "hating foreigners" thing is sort of a stereotype from what I can tell here no one is running away when I post lol.
I think I should explain some of what I said a bit better.
I've done some traveling to Mexico, Costa rica, Germany, and Egypt- and when I'm in these countries (normally in a tour group of 8-12 people, my parents come too) we meet Americans who expect the natives to speak English, and instead of trying to learn simple words like "Thank you" in another language they'll completely ignore it. When I was in Egypt, I met some Japanese tourists and we had a small conversation =P neither of us really knew much of the other language but I was glad (and I think so was he) that we made an effort to communicate in each others native language.
>Korean animation is sweeping the world, promoting the culture to a global audience.
Wow, Korean Wave is now reaching kids all around the world, too!! Someday in the near future, after those girl kids grow up, they will surely get interested in Korean guys. lol It's like investment in the future generations. This way, Korean popularity will come down from generation to generation. I'm proud of it. :)
>More and more young Korean-American actors and actresses are making their presence felt in Hollywood, >the global Mecca of the movie world. One of them is Aaron Yoo. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, >Yoo entered the entertainment industry and made his name with a supporting role in Paramount Pictures' "Disturbia" last year. >Now he's enjoying growing popularity with his latest work in Columbia Pictures' "21", which opened in the U.S. last month.
I see. America itself kicked off with "new" Korean Wave finally. Korean guys will take over in Hollywood in a sense. Another epicenter of Korean Wave will be America. I'm proud of it! :)
Those news articles that indicate the growing popularity of Korean Wave should be taken seriously. Korean Wave is sweeping the globe. Quite a large number of girls all around the world are looking at Korean guys with admiring eyes... Korean guys are both proud of it and pressured with it. What if those girls get carried away when they meet one in person? Korean guys will have a hard time dealing with such enthusiastic fans of Korean guys, like what happened between American girls and Canadian girls in this thread the other day. Korean guys will be like "don't argue over which of you we are interested in more! Korean guys are gentle to all girls" or something.. It's kind of trying, you know. Fangirls are sometimes out of control, you know. That's one of the things I'm afraid of. But I must admit to you being popular isn't so bad. It makes me feel proud. :)
>Canadian Journalist Offers Guidance to Korean Wave
>Canadian journalist Mark Russell who has been living in Korea for 13 years, >has a book out titled "Pop Goes Korea," an introduction for Anglophone readers >to the Korean Wave.
Well, more and more Canadian girls will be mesmerised with Korean guys... It's hard. Hard for Korean guys to deal with many more Canadian girls, what with American girls and Mexican girls and Arabian girls.... But Canadian girls are passionate. So Korean guys shouldn't abandon Canadian girls.
I just heard there was a new episode of Haruhi Suzumiya today, (or yesterday, for you guys I guess). Is this true? English sources for this aren't really reliable. I'd take this to the anime board but I wouldn't know what to ask or how to ask it >_> hopefully someone can help me out.
Today I found a severe reality, She walks to the mirror and glance at, but there isn’t a image of herself, there is an another woman in the mirror. She isn’t a beauty as she think she is.
>>922 So nice a Canadian guy. He's advertising Korean Wave in English communities all around the world. Many girls in his mother country - Canada - are already mesmerised with Korean guys thanks to Korean Wave, which is completely true, but it's a nice idea to let people who are not yet interested in Korean Wave realize how very popular Korea is now all around the world, which makes the brand image of Korea as a nation higher. Korean government should make more English speakers admire Korea through advertisements and make them realize how splendid Korea is! :) That's a nice idea, isn't it?
>>910 I noticed why he went to jail. I think dogs are human's best friend. The story which you had told me made me sad though I knew that there is same kind of thing which is called "Touken" in Japan.
>>934 Living rooms, bed rooms, dinnets, oh yeah You can find them at the market We talkin bout flea market Montgomery, its just like, its just like a mini-mall Oh yeah, come shop with us I said flea market, Montgomery Its just like, its just like, a mini-mall, hey hey
>>934 It works only when mods can read English. If they spam illicit stuff or link to scam sites, mods can take action. But to the average Japanese user, trolls and constructive posts are the same gibberish.
It's like asking mods in an English forum to ban trolls in a special Japanese thread where users of the thread post in Japanese and there's no way for mods to distinguish trolls from innocent users if you don't speak Japanese.
>>942 I don't say there isn't any, but it seems to me they're rarer than weeaboos. There doesn't seem to be a forum or a site that's big enough to spawn memes. I know some Japanese are into American pop music. Hollywood movies are popular, too. But it doesn't seem those Western things are as addictive as games, anime, manga, and so on.
I am back from the flea market in the great state of Ohio. I only bought a few things, but the trip was still fun. The overall theme of the place is very Americana, but there are many Amish people, Native American people, some Chinese and Mexican people there too. I find it very interesting to see and to interact with people from different cultures/sub-cultures. Fleas are a great place to do this. I shall be going to another one on Sunday, in the great state of Pennsylvania.
>>954 that phrase is used to show politeness and respect for a state. official government meetings are required to use such terminology when addressing a state, and for a public official from that state, they use "the honorable". it is not uncommon to hear this.
>>957 Ah ok, I don't want to be disrespectful in any way, so from now on, I'll put that before the name of any state when speaking to Americans. Thanks!
Keep in mind if you say it too much they might think you're being sarcastic (rude).
Anyways, it's Friday night here and I picked up two energy drinks and such for another night with my computer. I took two pics, I was only going to post one but they turned out better than I thought they would...guess it's hard to tell looking at a small camera screen.
Full throttle energy drink is one of my favorites, I like monster too but I haven't tried this smaller one. Does anyone else prepare for their Friday/Saturday nights like this?
Ew I need to wipe off my computer screen...I have no idea how it gets dirty, I think my sister touches it without permission. I hate touching the screen.
Not to change the subject, but I hear Samsung and LG flat TVs are selling quite well in America. Is that true? Why are Korean TVs that popular in America? Is it because they are quite competitive compared to American and Japanese TVs? If that's the case, we should admit that Korea has been really successful in the market. I don't want Japan to sink lower, but the fact that Korean makers already dominated American market means they dominated the world market. American people love Korean products. So I want to ask you guys if you have Samsung/LG/Hyundai products and how much you love them if you have any. Is your computer made by Samsung? Is your TV made by LG? Is your car made by Hyundai? How often do you hear your friends love Samsung smart phones? Do you think Korea is good at making IT products? Do you think Korea is better than your own country in the sense they make the best IT products? I hear many American people are disgusted with Obama concerning the fact they once mentioned he tried to exclude Korean cars from American auto industories. Do you think Obama is wrong to think America pushes Korean products out America just because American products lost competitive edge against Korean products? It seems many American people say they prefer Korean products and they can't imagine they live without Korean products. Is that true? Personally, the bond between America and Korea is too strong to cut off, so Obama should try his best to strengthen it more. Many American would think along the same way.
>>963 A news paper says: U.S. Sales of Korea's Hyundai IncreasingAs car sales across North America decline, one car maker is holding its own. Sales of Korean Hyundai's have actually been increasing in the United States. The company seems to be benefiting from a marketing plan which offers customers the option of giving their car back if they lose their job.
So Korean cars are doing quite good in America. There's no wonder Obama is afraid of the rise of Korean cars. He is faced with the difficulty concerning American auto industry, you know.
The police are just trying to close the case by saying it was suicide. It's like Obama was killed and the police say he happened to be dead! Can you take it?
To be honest, I don't quite understand how it's such a big deal to you when it has nothing to do with your life for the time being though. You don't even live in Korea, do you?
What the fuck!? Korean TVs are really busy reporting his death now. Of course it's a big deal!!! Don't say it's a trifle. Ex president was suspicious dead. That's shocking news, don't you understand!!??
The news says his wife fainted.. That's understandable... She didn't even know where he went out, let alone expect he's dead.. Obama's wife would faint if her husby were dead..
>>982 Acting, you say? Why are you so evil? Do you think American people and his wife weren't shocked when John F. Kennedy was assasinated? You are so twisted. Do you have a friend? No one wants to hang out with a person like you.
>>982 well i must say, a prez going mountain climbing is quite manly, but dyeing makes it seem he was not manly enough. so are korean men manly or not manly enough?
>>984 Are you making fun of a person's death? Of course, he must have been cornered, but it was nothing to do with manliness this time. Are you an uneducated moron? I wouldn't stoop that low even if I was not so educated.
If South Korea is so great, why don't they do something about North Korea? Millions of their fellow Koreans are starving each year. You guys could at least invade them and feed their citizens or something. Or at least donate 10% of your food.
