If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
Geez I fucken spent 15 min to write it down just to realise ofc its on the internet.
After >>3 It’s the answer told by lines that stretched around schools and churches. In numbers this nation has never seen. Like people who waited three hours and four hours. Many for the 1st time in their lives. Because they believed that this time must be different. Their voices could be that difference. It’s the answer spoken by young adult, rich and poor, democrat and republican, black, white, Hispanic, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not-disabled. Americans who send the massage to the world, that we have never been just a collection of individuals, or a collection of red states and blue states. We are and always will be the united states of America. It’s the answer that let those who’ve been told for so long, by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful about what we can achieve, to put their hands on the arch of history, and bend it once more toward hope of better day. It’s been long time coming. But tonight, because of what we did on this day in this election at this defining moment, Change’s come to America.
It's the answer that led A to B. 「これがAをBに導いた答えだ」ってことじゃないかな
で、Aが those who have been told →(彼らとは)(こう)言われ続けた人々だ、 for so long by so many →ずっと長いこと、何回も何回も、 to be cynical, and fearful, →皮肉屋になれ、怖がりになれ、 and doubtful of what we can achieve →我々が達成できることを疑えと。
Bは to put their hands on the arc of history 歴史の物語に手をかけ and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.
Japanese love to idolize someone. Pathetic. Idolizing people would just lose self respect remember that.
'Yes we can', that part was so funny!!!! I realy liked the Obama impersonator, I laughed loud with the 'Yes we can'. Best wishes from Per?!
Don't ask what America can do for your country, ask what you can do for your country. But I will allways be honest with you buot the challenges we face
To those who would tear this world down- we will defeat you. To those who seek peace and security, we support you. And to all those who have wondered if America's beacon still burns bright tonight we proved once more that〜以下略 オバマ万歳www
There will be setbacks and false starts. There are many who won't agree with every decision or policy I make as president. And we know the government can't solve every problem. But I will always be honest with you about the challenges we face. I will listen to you, especially when we disagree. And, above all, I will ask you to join in the work of remaking this nation, the only way it's been done in America for 221 years -- block by block, brick by brick, calloused hand by calloused hand.

Well, I say to them tonight, there is not a liberal America and a conservative America -- there is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America -- there’s the United States of America. http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/convention2004/barackobama2004dnc.htm
I want to thank my partner in this journey, a man who campaigned from his heart, and spoke for the men and women he grew up with on the streets of Scranton... and rode with on the train home to Delaware, the vice president-elect of the United States, Joe Biden. この中で rode with on the train home to Delaware, がよくわかりません。

Despite the current bad times and the gloomy expectations for the future expressed in public opinion polls, the new budget differs only on the margins from Mr. Bush's previous ones. Call for Standing Pat

firm in the knowledge that〜 ってくだりがあるけど、これってどう解釈するの?
読売だと firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task. firm in the knowledge って何?
>The relationship between the United States and China will shape the 21st century, >which makes it as important as any bilateral relationship in the world.

We find unity in our incredible diversity, drawing on the promise enshrined in our Constitution: the notion that we are all created equal, that no matter who you are or what you look like, if you abide by the law you should be protected by it; that if you adhere to our common values you should be treated no different than anyone else.
34 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/01/28(木) 17:57:44 We must continually renew this promise. My Administration has a Civil Rights Division that is once again prosecuting civil rights violations and employment discrimination. We finally strengthened our laws to protect against crimes driven by hate. This year, I will work with Congress and our military to finally repeal the law that denies gay Americans the right to serve the country they love because of who they are. We are going to crack down on violations of equal pay laws – so that women get equal pay for an equal day's work. And we should continue the work of fixing our broken immigration system – to secure our borders, enforce our laws, and ensure that everyone who plays by the rules can contribute to our economy and enrich our nations.
35 :名無しさん@英語勉強中:2010/01/28(木) 18:12:21 In the end, it is our ideals, our values, that built America – values that allowed us to forge a nation made up of immigrants from every corner of the globe; values that drive our citizens still. Every day, Americans meet their responsibilities to their families and their employers. Time and again, they lend a hand to their neighbors and give back to their country. They take pride in their labor, and are generous in spirit. These aren't Republican values or Democratic values they're living by; business values or labor values. They are American values. http://academy6.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/english/1264210688/
