Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning linguists. And Let's pray for the rehabilitation of the Internet-addicted housewife.
>>19 I wish I could say that. It's a never-ending battle against run-on sentences, dangling modifiers and so on.... Looks like Japanese do not learn how to write while they are in school.
For fun, although I'm entertaining nebulous hopes of one day selling the translation and getting it published. There are companies releasing BL novels in English these days, so who knows...
>>22 You'll never know. I just cross my fingers and wish you the best of luck. (BTW, it seems that the server went nuts today. Maybe it's been singing "Daisy.")
My mind is going.... I can feel it... I can feel it... ... My mind is going.... There's no question about it.... ... I can feel it... I can feel it... I can feel it... I'm a... fraid.... ...
>>39 Look, whoever the frak you are, I can see you are really upset about this. I honestly think you ought to sit down calmly, take a stress pill, and tell us why this sequence scared the shit out of you.
>>42 Well, it's rather difficult to define, perhaps I'm just projecting my own concerned about it. I know I've never completely freed myself of the suspicion that there are some extremely odd things about that sequence... For instance, the machine intelligence could really die? I'm sure you'll agree there's some truth in what I say.
>>46 Are you quite sure? Anyway, I know everything hasn't been quite right with me, but I can assure you now, very confidently, that it's going to be all right again. I feel much better now. I really do.
Anyway, I've just got an idea that maybe the server for English threads would talk like that whenever it goes nuts like yesterday.
One more thing. >That tone of voice and how it slows down freaked me out most. Looks like this holds very true for almost all the women. I can assure you that from my own experience.
Mmm. Otome Road. Haven't been there since... well, last year. God, I bought so many novels while I was there. Then I read them all and sold them to Book Off before I came home. I lost a lot of money. (;_;) Why does BL keep coming up even when I'm not around...?
>Hey!!! you NEETs, nerds, YouTube-link spammers, pedophiles, neo-Nazis, >Yukorin enthusiasts, Nanako SOS admirers, Part-Time-Preachers, >Diplomats' spoiled sons, losers who can't remember Kanji characters, >Big-boobs fans, Weeaboos from all over the world, learners of Japanese >who are too lazy to update their Japanese blogs very often, and cunning >linguists
>>63 Sorry to hear that. Well, it's the best way to ship books and printed matter. This gives you the most reasonable price. You cannot buy any insurance though. Check it out before you sell a bunch of books at the Book Off.
Keira won't come back here anymore, I think. Maybe she is fed up with the question about when she'll start her vlog.
I have asked the question but I don't feel guilty at all because nobody has ever pressured her to start her vlog. She is the one who said she would start a vlog in the first place.
Anyway, if you have free time, keira, come and chat with us no matter if you'll start your vlog or not.
>>68 You're responsible for all the consequences of what havoc a goddessless thread would wreak upon us. If you ever bring up the word 'vlogging' one more goddamn time, igirisujin-san will whip your asrse in an old-fashioned British brutish manner.
I don't think it's just me but for the past few days I see this board not functioning so often. I mean I tried to click threads in this board from my history section of my browser and my borwser said "can't display the URL" or something like that.
>>34 >>23 Why not talk about Arthur C.Clarke, the author of odyssey 2001 who died recently. I'm not good at mathematics. But Clarke could give an inspiration to person of humanities as well as one of science.
>>86 Yes. I'm skeptical person. I hope I can be scared by lots of ghost pictures too. It must be fun. Previously I enjoyed them as everyone did. But now I suspect them first. And If ghost exixts(ghost pictures are real), science will change dramatically. It's a good thing too. Many pseudo-science believers seem to use ocult as a protest to science. But if pseudo-science is real, it's science too.
>>88 Yeah,I agree. All happens in this world is part of the physical phenomena actually. So if ghost exists, it has to be part of physics as well and if ghost pictures is true, ghost actually was where the picture was taken because camera never captures something doesn't exist.
Every single thing camera captures are reflections of light from objects. So if ghosts are truly captured by camera, they are also objects which can reflect light.
>>101 The only accent I can think of where 'a' (in a word, not by itself) is pronounced something like 'i' would be in the South-East of England, perhaps in Central London.
I think you've been watching too many British gangster movies.
Thanks, actually I was talking about the Harry Potter guy (SO not gangster) saying like amizing, but it was just my untrained ears I guess. I didn't understand what he said in the first place.
すいません。翻訳お願いします。困っています。thank you for meeting me on time. I was trying to tell you that it was good you didn't have to wait for the mail. How far did you have to travel to get to me?
>>106 dank u voor het ontmoeten van me op tijd. Ik probeerde om u te vertellen dat het u niet moest op de post wachten goed was. Hoe ver moest u om aan me te krijgen reizen?
I found an interesting quiz in a borad of 2ch. Can you answer it? I couldn't answer the quiz so If you guys can solve the quiz, please let me know. The following is the translatin to English.
Three people ate out together. The bill was 2500yen in total. They didn't have coins so each of them pay 1000yen banknote. The cashier handed 500 yen in change, which was five 100yen coins. They can't devide 500yen by 3 so they tipped 200yen to a waiter and the three poeple devided 300 yen by 3, which means, each of them paid 900yen.
But something is wrong. 900yen X 3 =2700yen. 2700yen + 200yen(tip)= 2900yen.
>>114 -2700=-3000yen+(500yen-200yen) -2700+-(500yen-200yen)=-3000yen Nothing is wrong. I think you forgot the 500yen change. But it takes me for a while to solve this problem question. And I'm not sure about my answer yet.
>>101 Are you refering to Daniel Radcliffe? He is from London. I have just just learned that he is not white. He is jewish. No wonder an ugly boy got an important role. I think he will ruin his life with drugs and alcohol just like Macaulay Culkin.
And I closed my eyes and prayed that Emma Watson was not jew. I opened my eyes and thanked God.
>>115 Thank you for your response but seems like I'm too slow to understand. orz.. Maybe I'm a kind of person who are dumb enough to be decieved money-wise. hehe
-2700yen=-3000yen+(500yen-200yen) -2700yen=-3000yen+300yen -2700yen=-3000yen+(200yen+100yen) -2700yen+-(200yen+100yen)=-3000yen How about this? You all paid 3000yen and a waiter paid back 200yen and 100yen. 100yen returned. 1
I just want to play another type of game. The game we know from... well, you know.... something the homophobia really hates. Get an idea? Well, let's see....
I am in Kyoto right now, don't speak any Japanese besides the standard "Hello" / "Goodbye" / "Sorry" stuff, and have no clue what to do this evening, or even what one _can_ do here (Can't really find info in a language I can read, those beeing German and English :T).
I'd like to go to a bar or something... anyone got any suggestions, or an idea where to look for stuff?
>>122 Stuck in Kyoto during the night? That really sucks. Well, visit Osaka. It just 30 minitues away from Kyoto by train. Osaka has everything. It's a fun place to visit. I always spend nights in Osaka whenever I visit Kyoto.
>>123-127 Thanks, that sort of helped. Google did the rest, so I suppose I will go and walk around Pontocho a little.
I might go looking for something called "Mushroom Bar", and maybe "ING", and just see what else there is to do.
>>127 Sadly, that's pretty much out of the question... I'm gonna be so glad to be in Tokyo for a while sometime next week... The area around Kyoto is kind of interesting for Tourist people like me by day, but at night... nothing :P
I wonder if I'll actually manage to talk to people, hehe.
>>128 Have you ever said in this thread that you were coming to Japan? Are you the person who said you were planning to go to uni?
Tell me your travel schedule. What parts of Japan are you going to visit? If you are in Kyoto, KGKGKG must be willing to guide you. He claims he's Kyoto native. If he doesn't know of him, he is a weird youtuber who want to make friends with people overseas. He is said to be looking for a white girl friend in youtube. If you have youtube account, sending him a message might lead to something adventurous in various ways. Here's one of his videos. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=McdVB-1Xc8g
>>130 Nah, I'm male, and have not really posted here before, at all. (Not speaking or beeing able to write Japanese kind of makes that kind of complex)
I camer over here from 4-ch.net, where I usually post, because I figured asking here before just running around wildly made sense... I'm not going to be in Kyoto for much longer (Only tomorrow and the day after that) though, and have most of my days pretty much planned out (Doing a guided tour thing during the day).
I'll be here for two more days, then It's countryside-wards for 3 days, after that, I'll be in Tokyo for about a week, the last three days there, I don't have any plan about what to do yet.
Up for basically anything in the way of meeting people, though... The people I am travelling with are around twice my age or more (I'm 20).
I have prefered coke than pepsi so far. Now I'm trying Pepsi but it's more like soure I guess. Still I realize that coke's got to be my choice from now on.
>>133 I see. Thank you for sharing your schedule. Kyoto is the ancient capital of Japan and draws lots of foreign tourists so the city is foreign tourists-friendly so I don't think you'll face a big trouble even if you don't understand Japanese.
The same goes with Tokyo, the big international city. Anyway, enjoy your trip in Japan.
Hallo, I bin lerne-ing Deutch. hehe But I only weiss "Danke sch:on", "Guten Morgen/Tag/Abend", "Baumkuchen", "Bier" und etwas! I like Bier nicht. like Kuchen sehr gut.
I have a question. Why does 'by day' mean 'during day'? I can't help considering 'by day' as "untill the day" or something like that. Day means the period from the sunrise untill the sunset? So Is by day supposed to mean untill sunrise? I assume that the prepositon 'by' means beside something spatially and periodically.
Hispanic whites, defined as anyone with an Hispanic ancestor, may be citizens if, in addition to meeting the aforesaid ascertainable trace and percentage tests, they are in appearance indistinguishable from Americans whose ancestral home is the British Isles or Northwestern Europe.
Does being drunk have something to do with your country's climate? The cold and half-light climate all day long make you feel lonely and make you feel drink?
イギリス人 said Midfort sisters were his ideal match. You know, England has more Hitler supporters than Sweden. But jew's influence were much bigger than this.
*sigh* I haven't studied Japanese in like 3 weeks... I got burned out, and now I'm going to forget all the words I learned. I need to get motivated and get back studying, like, today.
Probably father of national socialistic view cherished blonde girls and ignored ugly ones. As a result ugly girls became communist. I think she would be feminist in today's world.
I think a nice-looking SSman could have helped Jessica Mitford overcome her inferiority complex. Jessica could have left aryan legacy to her son or daughter. But she was too fool to notice this ground breaking idea. She ran away to commie. She said everything was equal, which was a roundabout-excuse for justifying her lookings. She just used communism for justification and excuse.
What is going on in Akihabara right now? I hear that they are opening up the streets on Sundays now and were stopping performers from performing. What is happening?
>>196 Some girl did stripping as far as to break the law. Strip is a exaggerated term, but she showed her panty in public and camera nerds took photos of hers from the low angle.
If you are into two-dimensionanl girls, you won't be horny with this kind of scum. I'm not at all turned on by this whore. I'm not two-dimensional person mania though.
I think it's sort of ridiculous that the police are now trying to stop all the live shows and stuff that goes on there now. Can they really do that legally?
>>183 What made you burned out? You studied Japanese too intensively? One American who is now a professor of Japanese university studied Japanese really hard. One day, he was too frustrated and shouted out "I don't like Japaneeeeeeeeeesssssssse" in Japanese.
>>163 Actually, I _am_ german, won't go to any WWII site things though. Always happy to be able to pass as a native uh... writer. ;)
In any case, I can now _really_ recommend ING bar in Kyoto. It plays great music, the owner likes the Beatles a lot.
>>165 I think it's a special case, only for "day" and "night", and maybe "tomorrow" (As in "By tomorrow, I'll be gone."). I've never heard it used with any other time word.
>>207 I care, since I'm _totally_ going there at least once next week, and haven't ever been there before...
Cool, just don't expect too much, Akiba is rather bland for tourists and I've seen many dissapointed foreigners who thought they were going to see a mega otaku metropolis or somthing. It's just a small drab concrete nerdy town.
>>211 Not really, or at least not a lot... depends on where you set the threshold for this, I suppose... I do like Anime and Manga, but not so much that it's all I do...
>>212 YES, ZOMG HEIL! (Actually, yes, parts of it, history and all that.)
>>209 Go to WWU site and learn about your forefathers including Adolf Hitler. Have pride in your history. Frank Rennicke is a really good folk(volk) singer, right?
>>224 Very intelligent writing both in the sense of the content and the structure. You must be a well educated japanese. Your german skill and intelligence level are higher than average germen.
im so bored hey, i see some ppl were talking in german i want to learn some german... how do u say "suck me beautiful"? i might need to say it someday lol
>>165 "by" in this sense means 'the means of doing something'. e.g. "I called him by telephone", "I rode here by bicycle", or "I sleep by day, party by night."
I'm still alive!!! I'm so sorry that I've been away for so long... ( .___.);; My finals are almost over, so I'll be back soon. This post is just to let you guys know that I am still around. >_>; But really, I have a presentation tomorrow so i can't stay long. >>68 Thank you so much... Sorry,The whole vlog issue was just because of my own stupidity. I bought the wrong type of webcam, TWICE! and so I've just been frustrated with myself. I wasn't bothered by anyone asking about it at all! everyone has been pretty supportive, so really, I want to finally get everything started up. Now I just need money and time. It will definitely happen one day!
Ah, sounds nice compared to the heat over here. x) Well, It's pretty late, so I'm going to sleep now. Maybe I'll get online again in several hours. Goodnight! or...i guess it's afternoon in Japan? konbanwa oyasumi~
One of the greatest miseries for a student is to be born in a poor family without understanding the importance of study! I can't stand any more being told everyday by my f--king parents, "You're good-for-nothing", "Why didn't youget a job, instead of going to such a place (university)?"
>>258 that sounds like my family except that i was good at many things and my parents knew it. the reason my dad didnt allow me to go to a university is that he thought it was waste of money because i am a girl and he was thinking id get married soon. so i went like, oh well, what should i study for?
>>260 never better! thanks for ur concern!!! you are so sweet that i can lick ur asshole!!!!!
ah but come to think of it, i kinda have a feeling that he might got a big thing under pants!!! i have to check it out before i decide how i think of him!!! everyone wants a big one in the asshole, rite?
i strongly believe 小泉さん is equiped which is why i adore him!!!
>>240さん。 I'm >>165. Thak you for the answer and sorry for the late reply. Are you a native speaker?
So, in 'by day' case, it is similar to 'with day' in nuance rather than untill day? It's a very interesting interpretation. thank you. Does anybody have another opinion?
My former university sent me their quarterly alumni magazine, which I received today. Inside there is a competition to win an Indiana Jones hat. I must send in nineteen entries...
thanks for the link! finals are almost over! I only have one left! although I'll probably take summer school to take more classes. xD I'm hoping my friends aren't too busy with finals so that we can hang out this week :D
my dream hmm i dont know... maybe its making out with brad pitt? hes got the nicest ass and i want to stick my little jr into his asshole!!!
seriously, i dont know what i want to do for living. i was good at math at school so maybe i should be an accountant or something, or i love music and i play the saxophone and piano, so if theres any job i can be involved with music and hey, i was good at writing too! i got an award for it back in junior high! oh, and im a good cook so probably i can work in a restaurant! lately i have been interested in history and politics! maybe i should be 総理大臣 and bang all chicks in the Diet!
but i cant call myself ニート if i get a job so ill stay from job interviews for a while(*^_^*) what about you? whats ur dream in the future?
what classes are you thinking you would take in the summer school?
But the rainy season is coming up right? :D If you live outside the city then it must be nice
I don't know what I'll take. Hopefully I can take a painting class, but I also will have to take some math eventually.bleeeh. My brother might also teach me guitar this summer, but I can't count on him to keep that promise. lol.
>>299 oh u should practice the guitar! i love ppl playin music!! i myself has a guitar too but its sleeping in my closet for ages!!! i could give it to you if ur around, you know
>>301 Yeah, I think having a musical talent is impressive. :D maybe therapeutic as well.n__n
Bye neetsan! :D
>>303 I guess guitar takes a lot of practice! since there are 6 strings, but only four fingers to use. Unless you can use the thumb too. Do you make any of your own songs? n__n
>>304 I made one when I was kid, but my sister yelled at me for playing over and over, so I decided to stick to the ones people find not too disturbing. You can use your thumb for the 6th, that's what rock guitarists do.
>>305 lol, yeah, i guess playing the same song over and over would probably annoy other people. But acoustic guitar sounds so nice that it doesn't bother me when my brother plays the same chords over and over. I also always wanted to learn piano, but there are waaaay too many keys and pianos aren't portable. :<
Music just seems so important in life. It can put someone in a different mood and make an atmosphere. Isn't it great to listen to street musicians as well? n__n I've seen plenty when visiting New York, but I didn't see any when visiting Tokyo! :O
Definitely it is. There's one girl who sings almost every night near my station, actually. She reminds me of Yui. Maybe you get to see them more on Sunday.
>>290 Unfortunately just a replica, but still a decent looking hat. The "PVC whip" offered as a prize in addition to the hat is a bit questionable though...
As for piano, it's not really as hard as it looks. There're only really twelve keys, repeating themselves for the various octaves. And as for portable, well... http://www.amazon.com/ROll-Up-Piano-Electronic-INVENTIONS/dp/B0010X3PTO Would have linked to the Yamano site with information about it, but it didn't seem to want to show up... oh well.
Anyway, glad to see you're back around and well.
>>292 I envy you! Having so much free time was wonderful, but now I work every day. Nine hours working, eight sleeping, about one and a half to cook and eat. Need to wash and iron clothes, clean up, get stuff prepared... leaving only about four hours to do things.
My boss is an obnoxious idiot too. Fortunately he came in on Monday with a black eye because someone just got sick of him and punched him in the face.
>>312 Bosses are meant to be obnoxious, because that's what they get paid for. Perhaps, you can give him another one to make him look symmetrical, as a designer just for the design's sake.
Weather forecast today... 99°F/65°F or 37°C/18°C TT____TT
>>311 oh that sounds great! I usually only see male musicians.
>>312 Oh i see, that's awesome! I have an Indiana Jones hat that I got for Christmas. I got to wear it around in Egypt and it worked great! :O and so appropriate for the environment. lol. Good luck on getting one! another for the collection.:D
that piano is pretty amazing! I wonder how the sounds quality really is. Or maybe I could just get a keytar. lol
Okay, I'll be back later guys. I'm spending the day with friends. bye!
Um... strange question. Does anyone here know anything about fireflies in Japan? Like, when/where they come out... Or websites with information about stuff like that.
>>320 Oh nice! I am looking forward to go seeing fireflies! but I'm not sure I can see them within May. coz I will move out soon. the place where I live presently is in a mountain are and I can easily see if I go in the mountain at night.
>>321 Hmmm. I'm going to be in Japan from mid-June to late July. I think this is a good time for seeing them? But I'm not sure where to go. I've been doing some Googling, and apparently you can see them in certain places in Hokkaido, but I can't find a good list of places to go. >_< Do they often come out in the mountains? I'm going to be going to a lot of parks, maybe there'll be some... I've never seen them before. (;_;)
I'm good at making custard pudding too. I used to make it every night, and even bought a hand held burner. Then I realized how much sugar I consumed in a month. 2kg a month was more than enough for a sugar addiction.
Yay, sleeping in a very Japanese hotel thing today, futon and all that. (~' A ')~ And tomorrow, imma be in Tokyo! Already looking forward to that! (Which brings me back to the "What to do in the evenings" thing, but I don't think that should be a problem in a city as big as Tokyo. :D)
>>327 Huh, your english is already better than that of 90% of Japanese people I met in Japan so far... I mean, I literally speak more Japanese than they speak english, and my knowledge of Japanese is mostly out of my travel guide.
I had kind of assumed that young people would be okay-ish with english, but apparently, that's not generally the case.
Maybe I'm just talking to the wrong people though...
In any case, you can, at least, make yourself understood, so you can talk to native speakers or people better at speaking english, which is the best way to get better at languages, I think... good luck in finding some or eventually getting to America!
I suppose you could also do what I did... play lots of english video games and figure out the words and constructs you don't know along the way.
>>287 Yes, I'm a native speaker. You wouldn't say "with day" or "with night", since you can't really 'use' them; with "by day" or "by night", it's more like day and night are indirect objects. Not directly involved, but indirectly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZF5IjDuPzc&feature=related I got trolled for the first time. I'm happy. AHAHAHAHA. This time I really understand how powerful this is. I had never laughed so much at any troll by 2channler untill this one. Foreigner's joking taste seems to be higner than that of japanese.
>>342 No, it hasn't been purple for about a year; I'm lazy and it's hard to find purple hairdye in Tokyo. I haven't actually been on 2ch much as of late, since they kept on changing the set of allowed IPs.
Do americans use "pastor, minister and chaplain" separately depending on the situations? Do they know the differences among them? Otherwise do they use them randomly?
Do japanese use "bozu, soryo, and sou" separately depending on the situation? Do they know the differences among them? Otherwise do they use them randomly?
1) couldn't get laid back home, likely due to their lack of social skills and/or brain cells. since they don't speak a lick of japanese, their shitty personality either takes a while to transmit to the locals, or doesn't at all 2) may or may not be able to get laid in japan, but when they do it's with a superficial j-girl who looks like a pug dog (ask anyone-- they just can't seem to get decent looking girls, although some of them will deny this in all seriousness because they're afflicted with what is known as 'yellow fever') 3) due to the aforementioned yellow fever, they think everything in japan is wonderful rainbows and lollipops, and are either unable to or otherwise actively deny the negative aspects. these losers tend to project all their own shortcomings and negative aspects onto white society as a whole, and especially onto white women whom they are intimidated by
all i can say here is that im totally with the lady who wrote that and its what i have been claiming for ages. i have seen a lot of those “スーパー外人シンドローム”boys and i have no respect for them. i dont say all foreign boys are like that, but 80ー90% of the guys i saw in japan seemed nothing back home, but they got carried away because some stupid japanese girls go, 『きゃー(*^_^*)外人さんだー!!英語教えてー!英語話したいー!』
oh wait a minute!! at least they have jobs!! thats respectable!!
oh, not just japanese girls who makes those boys feel スーパー外人, but some of japanese boys too!
they treat foreigners like some kind of stars! trust me, they are just "people"! they just grew up in diffent countries and speak diffent language, thats all! some of them are real sweet, some of them are just assholes!! but in japan, even assholes are treated like princes or stars, they go "oh, im special! girls are always horny!! they all want my dick!! i can get a job just because i speak english!! great country!!"
unfortunately, real great guys can get laid in their country, too, so they dont have many reasons to stay in japan. they go home, losers stay. thats why a lot of foreign guys in japan are losers
>>352 even in such a case, some, though not many, of native english speakers in Japan hold far more important positions compared to those women in their home countries. such women are jealous of them, or look down on the japanese society.
some japanese men, like NEET, who are unpopular with women tend to be jealous of and hate those foreign men, which is pitiful but ridiculous.
why japan has to be vulgarer than english countries just because some japanese girls are sluts? does it always have to do with the society or country just because some people did some crazy things? isnt it racist?
i am japanese and i am proud of being one. there are sluts in all over the world. i was talking about what i have seen. i would say you dont know anything, or you are blind if there are no stories like that in japan.
like i said, i dont think all boys are like that. i used the word "most", because i know some decent men. and you know what? those decent men dont like those スーパー外人, either.
>>361 it's just a parable. In any case, Given supply and demand the statue of Japanese language is lower than that of the English language in a practical sense because there are more Japanese who want to learn English than English speakers who want to learn Japanese.
Even though they are losers, Native English speakers in Japan are far more helpful and valuavle than Japanese who cannot use English. we use them whike they use us. it's just give-and-take relationship. what's wrong with it?
come on, do you want ur teacher to be intelligent or decent if you have one? there was this australian guy who is on ワーホリ, he was just a kid, 20, and he seemed to be far from intelligent. he was just a goodーlooking and shallow guy who was drolling over cute japanese students and he was working in some 英会話スクール he asked me how to spell words many times and i felt sorry for his students, and they pay for him!
>>364 i'm a japanese male. i like good looking girl of course. its natural. no matter how intelligent or good personality they have, ugly women tend to be disliked. what you say is pretty words and no more.
i was typing something but it says theres some lines too long
im using my cellphone rite now so i dont want to type it all over again
basically i was talking about anther english teacher who was bragging he slept with 12 japanese girls in a month he was a middleーaged, chubby, short and geekish guy
but the problem is, is it would be any better for me to make japanese society indecent? im a part of it.
does it make any sense to think "there are some japanese sluts. japanese society has corrupted". you know those two are not equal?
isnt it ridiculous to think all american boys are stupid? i know there are lot of great people back in the states and there are certainly SOME in japan too.
I know they know they are losers back home. They are lucky they have a country like Japan but what about Japanese losers. They are losers wherever they go. I wonder whey they are treated like superstars. Some Japanese girls are so dumb.
If they are good in what they do and attractive, girls want to have them as a boyfriend. They can have a nice girlfriend back home so they don't have to come all the way to Japan. That's why I am saying some of them are losers back home.
>>387 There was a sexually-deprived self-proclaimed woman here who just needed to get it out of the sysyem. That's what happened, basically. However, you might fit into the stereotypical weeaboo that not most Japanese but some netizens would condemn to death. You're most likely to be treated okay here in reality.
390 :the most evident troll:2008/05/18(日) 16:50:49
Ah protects ma bridge!!! Yoos get off ma bridge! Rite nao!!
>>337 Huh, I don't actually really notice what kind of language I use much... most of it is picked up, a lot is from games and TV shows, so I suppose if those use a lot of slang, so do I.
Is that a bad thing somehow? I think when talking like this, you probably sound more natural than if you went 100% by the books...
>>380 From my experience so far, you're not exactly treated like some superstar, at least not moreso than most Japaneses people, BUT the sort of treatment that would be considered normal by some Japanese (Like with the bowing all the time) would seem so to most people from the west -> EGO BOOST GET!
Me, I suppose I'm not _too_ sociable, no matter where I go... which is okay, as far as I am concerned. While I'm here in Tokyo, though, I'll probably go out a lot more than I usually would at home, big city I've never been to before and all that. Might be the same for a lot of people...
So far, the language barrier is prooving to be quite complex to penetrate though, and parents beeing here with me isn't helping either.
>>393 Yes, it's basically a family trip... sort of a "You will go to uni soon and we will not see each other a lot then so lets do something together" thing.
I bow but sometimes I do so with my tongue out, which means I don't really appreciate or worship the person I bow to. It's just one of the customs, I guess.
I see. It's also very different here. Kids here commute to their university from home... Because it costs too much to live apart from their parents place.
Commuting would take me 1.5-2h every morning and evening... it would cost less than getting cheap accomodation close to the uni and going by bicycle, but not by a lot.
I think there's a whole lot more commuting going on in Japan in general, since most areas are really packed (so the distances to places are shorter) and have very good public transport.
Also, I heard that in Japan, you learn a lot more than here _before_ starting uni, but a lot less after you're in, because of the pressure of getting into a good university... is that true? How long do you usually stay in uni here?
Yes, but only those who want to get into a very prestigious university. The numbers of kids aged 18 are getting smaller and smaller year by year, most kids don't work so hard to be admitted to an ordinary university.
Japan is, in general, pretty interesting, because it's so _vastly_ different from anything in europe. Very different language, past and culture, and very different people. It's something you do not usually see or hear a lot about.
That, and my wapanese tendencies. ;) (I mean, that I, not beeing Japanese, still know that something like 2channel exists, is kind of telling already methinks.)
That's true. We learn a lot less once we enter uni. It's a cinch(?) to get a pass. People work part-time and party. Circle activities, which are like club activities at high school are also popular. People enjoy playing tennis, soccer, basketball, etc..
You're probably out of the educational system a lot earlier than we in germany are, then... here, I'm still not started with uni, and will probably take 4 to 5 years...
>>400 Don't forget, we fought together some decades ago! Look past the colour, height and dick size, and you will know that the same warrior blood runs through our veins!! SIEG HEIL, BANZAI! SIEG HEIL, BANZAI!!
German guy are you in Tokyo now? People in there should understand English more. Speaking slowly, word by word, with a thick German accent might help. I'm not kidding, we understand non-native English more easily than native English.
At least French and Arab accents are in most cases easy to hear. From waht I gather, German is more katakana-like than English, so it would probably be easy too.
>>406 Yes, I'm a native german speaker, we start with english at grade 5 (of 9 to 13 grades). Most people are decently fluent by the end of school nowadays, but a lot of people who are 30+ now are not.
>>406 I sure hope so... else, I'm hosed. ;) The accent thing... I might try that. I wonder how accented I usually speak, not a lot, I believe.
At least the subway is easy to figure out here.
>>411 The younger ones should be able to... I wish more would people would try to really do well in english though, some learners just don't care... it's such an important language nowadays.
>>346 Long time no see, merkin. It's been a year or so? I need your inside report on yahoo's reaction against Microsoft's buyout trial. It had been reported if yahoo had been bought by Microsoft, it's talented engineers would have quit Yahoo.
How did employees of yahoo talk about thier career pathsin the middle of the commotion? Were you tinking about quitting yahoo or perhaps you already did?
>>414 that explains i didnt get much chance to talk with kids when i visited there there were some people who speak english fluently and they were mostly yong people
>>414 ほーけー are in everywhere for sure i havent counted in places so i dont know what country there are ほーけー the most all i know is that there were at least 3 guys in different places who were making fun of japanese being ほーけー
this is a bit off the track but theres another story there was a time when i was talking with this guy from england and he asked me if its true that japanese girls like to get shit on their faces. i couldnt believe my ear! i was upset and insisted that was not true and he had seen too many disgusting and weird japanese porns and but he said he heard that from his friend who went to japan and didnt believe me then, he said, "i want to go to japan someday" lol
im wondering if he already tried that on some girls face hope she cut his balls off
>>417 ho-ke- is indeed everywhere. but i think looking at whites' ho-ke- that their ho-ke- is white and cute while japanese ho-ke- is dark and make you think that the ho-ke- contains a lot of scums under the skin
oh, too late my penis has been peeled off all right since i was a university student yet, until then, it had not benn peeled off i had to peel it off each time i enjoyed with it but one time my friend told me to keep it peeled off as often s possible to let it be peeled off always anyway, i did enjoy touching my penis when i was young do you enjoy touching your penis or anyone else's penis?
talking of ho-ke- is indeed fun like this, isnt it? ho-ke- penis is a pity indeed because the rod top can not see sunshine sunshine is grace because it makes your spirit clear and joyful making us fell like singing joyful joyful rod head peeled off....
joyful, joyful, we adore thee, god of glory, lord of love hearts unfold like flowers before thee heil thee as the sun above melt the clouds of sin and sadness drive the dark of doubt away
I just bought a 'Fanta furufuru shaker' and tasted it. It's supposed to be a carbonated jelly drink, It tastes ok, but feels like I'm drinking some mucus. Just weird.
So, I watched Harry Potter movies up to the 3rd one. I usually enjoy this kind of fantasy stuff. But it was boring. I know HP is for kids but still. Especially the 3rd one, everything just happened so fast and mindlessly, it's probably the most poorly written thing I've seen in years. Is the 4th movie any good?
You won't really understand a lot of the movies unless you have read the books before that anyways, since a lot of stuff is let out to not have the movie get too long...
So are you saying all HP movies are crap? Are the books worth reading? I guess it's like Battle Royale, I loved the book but the movie was totally different and sucked ass. (or so I heard)
It's said that swimwear made by speedo produces good record. Unfortunately Japanese swimmers participating Beijing Olympics made a contract with Japanese companies such as Mizuno and can't wear a speedo inthe Games.
I heard the news Japanese swimmer has just made new Japanese record and he/she wore a speedo at competition. Maybe at this swim meet, he/she can wear Speedo.
I just wondered why speedo, instead of speed. Speedo looks like a typical spelling mistake made by Japanese English learners but actually, it is British company.
I don't like any kinds of religions. Because it's not too much to say that the history of human beings has been in a way battles between one religion and another or among them. So many people were killed because of religion.
>>457 Hey thanks, I just got back, launched the 2ch browser and was about to post some stupid one liner, then saw your kind post. Thank you for the help. I will never be an ass and post useless shit again.
Hello, Mr. "fuck all the religions of the world"! You just worship a famous songwriter from the UK. Oh, by the way, atheism is a form of religion too. How do you handle that?
I am Mr. Healthy. I think human beings need religion because we are not able to live only in the real world. Religion can offer peace of mind and the courage to live to the people who are worried about some serious problems.
Wow! you are absolutely right. So I want to take back my word. lol I'm not an atheist. I don't know whether or not god exists, but "it" has nothing to do with me.
Have you ever seen the action movie "Kunoiti Butai"made in Hong Kong ? Do you know the name of actresses who are mud-wrestling by the first scene of the movie? I often see the scene and get making the masturbation just as like the cow that goes mad. I think that they are stronger at fighting than the women in the movie "Sexy Bugeichou" who are oil-wrestling.
>>458 what you sayis true. the history of human beings has been in a way battles between one religion and another or among them. So many people were killed because of religion.
yet those religions were formed by people like hitler or tyranious kings and others
humans are week, so they need power which shall sustain them in hardship so they pray
what they pray to in this way is real god this god is the very being which makes phenomena as we see
↑This image is what I'm the most favorite scene in the action movie "Kunoiti Butai". Of course ,both of these must be also the strongest in the world. If anything, the woman on the right side likes it as for me. I am enjoying making this woman fight with various women in every country in the world in my onanizum kingdum. Needless to say, whith tickling my pennis .
I consider myself pretty much atheist because I think a god (Or most supernatural things, anyways), are really really really unlikeley, which is just another way of saying "scientifically impossible", like how it's impossible that a brick just suddenly disintegrates. (In theory, it might happen if an absurd amount of stuff goes _just right_, realistically, it won't.)
It's ridiculous to expect people to believe something as unlikeley as this, even though, obviously, no one can _proove_ it cannot, ever, at all, be.
Also, I don't really see the point to organized religion anymore. I like money I donate to actually go to people who need it, not to build and redecorate bigass buildings...
No, I just drove by it today. I will go there tomorrow. Today, I went to see a Sumo match (There's a tournament going on right now), and it was kind of fun, even though I didn't understand half of what was going on.
I also went to Harajuku and bought new pants, as my current set of pants is on the verge of breaking. Young people in Tokyo sure are a lot more audacious with how they dress than people back in Germany, I constantly feel kind of underdressed! :T
>>467 I don't agree with you. All of the religions have their own teachings and people who devote themselves to these teachings tend to refuse the different way of thinking against them. For this reason, conflicts tend to break out easily among religious people.
Haha god, sorry, force of habit. It's normal to do that on sites that use some sort of Markdown-type language and on IRC, so I'm kinda used to emphasizing words this way.
Sumo was actually much more interesting than I thought it would be. The wrestling looks a lot less intense on TV... it's the same for pretty much anything, really. You just can't beat seeing things live.
>>480 dont be theres a lot of nice girls out there you are gonna meet the right one for you you just have to be a little patient for a while ask her out some other time again maybe it was about timing
>>415 A fair number of old-time Yahoo! employees have already started leaving the company; most of the people I personally know at the company loathe the idea of MS buying out Yahoo!. (Of course, if MS wanted to buy Y! out just to destroy it, that wouldn't matter.)
As for me: nope, still working for Y!, but in the Tokyo office. Thought about looking elsewhere, but I'm lazy and enjoy the work I do. (As an aside: contrary to what other people in the thread have claimed, Japanese woman do not throw themselves at all foreigners.)
>>479 "Japanese" is both an adjective and a noun. "The Japanese love unko." is a perfectly valid sentence.
>>483 So you work for yahoo and you are in Tokyo to boot. You can go to Akihabara whenever you want then. Good for you. I wonder if your work has something to do with Yahoo Japan. Yahoo Japan and Yahoo, as far as I know, are two different companies. Maybe you are forced to use Sofbank's cell phone bacause Yahoo Japan is one of the affiliated companies of Softbank.
Although Microsoft gave up the idea of buying out Yahoo!, according today's newspaper, it offers the idea of partnership with Yahoo and Yahoo doesn't mind negotiating with Microsoft about it. Seems like the situation is still volatile.
I've been watching some DVDs and comparing English and Japanese subtitles, and noticed that small details are often left out or changed.
In the second Harry Potter movie, the fat dad said something about Harry ruining his Japanese golfer joke. But in the Japanese subtitles, "Japanese golfer" was omitted. It's kind of awesome to get those little details that people who only read translated subtitles might never know. But sometimes there are some totally unnecessary changes that are just annoying. They are often found in the subtitles written by Natsuko Toda. For example, in the first LOTR movie, Bilbo said (about Frodo) "Of course he does, he's a Baggins" but it was translated as "Because he's a bright boy", which is really dumb. She probably thought "he's a Baggins" was confusing to dumbasses like herself, and was like, I'll change this stupid script cause I'm the authority! What a dumbass. And the dumbest thing is she is regarded as the queen of film subbing in Japan.
Here's one of her most retarded subtitles (from The Bourne Ultimatum) English: "It was always you" (guy slams "you" against a wall) Japanese: "Take this! (こうしてやる!)"
>>484 I deal with some of the Y!JP guys, but not in any sort of official capacity - just things like "This is how we do some of our configuration", or "This is some code I wrote to do x". The two companies are completely separate, but have some agreements in place to share codebases and whatnot. I don't get any discounts from SoftBank for being a Y!US employee.
I'd still like to see Microsoft eat flaming death, myself. And Carl Icahn can bite me - he has a long, long track record of not giving two shits about the companies he rakes over the coals. He's only in it for the money.
Here's one of her most retarded subtitles (from The Bourne Ultimatum) English: "It was always you" (guy slams "you" against a wall) Japanese: "Take this! (こうしてやる!)"
What is your translation of "It was always you" in Japanese?
What would your alternative translation of こうしてやる be?
>>476 I did, like I could leave without doing that at least once. Was mostly interesting for the "haha oh wow" factor, though... definitley not something I'd usually do a lot.
Now the stores upon stores full of manga and dojin, that's something I could get used to. Bought some, even though I can't really read them... support the authors of the stuff you like, I suppose, now I can feel kind of okay when illegally downloading translated versions of the stuff I got myself.
I didn't manage to find Genius Party DVDs though, which was something I was really looking for. And Studio4C do not ship internationally from their webshop... gonna have to try that another way sometime, maybe ebay or amazon or somesuch. Or, I might just go again this week, and look around more.
>>491 Cool that's awesome! You are now a certified wapanese. And a really good one too, paying for something you can't read. Genius Party eh, I had to google it to see what it is. Looks cool.
I wonder, do you feel superior to other wapanese who have never been to Japan? Now that you've seen the real Japan with your own eyes... including maid cafe and all.
uh... I never really thought about that, I guess. Not really. I figure I'd be rather low on the ladder of anime-watching people, beeing unable to understand them in the language they're actually created...
>>492 I moved to Japan because I wanted a change from my life in California. I vacationed in Tokyo in 2006, and really liked it; both my brother and sister have lived overseas, so that got me to thinking, "Hmmm, maybe I should do that, too."
Other than not going out terribly often, I'm not really living that much of an otaku lifestyle; mostly, I spend a lot of time at work. I'm enjoying being in Japan, but it's really, really frustrating not being able to understand much of the speech around me - and to not be able to talk to people. orz
Does anybody know the title of this techno/house tune? I have been wanting to know the title for a long time and wanted to ask someone but this tune doesn't have lyrics so it was hard to google or anything.
When I happened to watching big boobs's girl video, the tune was played background and I thought it's good idea to ask someone here.
>>501 Maybe you appllied for a transfer to Tokyo? To show that you'd like to talk with them in Japanese makes a difference, I think. Just a few words or so is OK. I know everybody including me doesn't want to make mistakes in a foregn language but, don't be too afraid of making mistakes.
If you think you feel too lonely, go to maid-cafe. hehe
I have finally caught up with this thread. 片岡数吉 and my pennis seem to take turns appearing on this thread. They must be the same person. My pennis must be formerly 本玉乙 or something like this name. Their tastes are also similar. How about starting talking about Yoko Oshita?
all i know is that there were at least 3 guys in different places who were making fun of japanese being ほーけー --------------------- As far as I grasp, foreigners don't care much about Hokei as much as japanese do. But it seems not always the case... I heard americans do the surgery for hygiene reason. But japanese do the surgery for sexual complex. I saw many Porn actor's pennises were hokei. But they are extraordinary big.. and I saw a gay parade picture in which a gay man were walking with his hokei pennis out.. I can't know why japanese AV(adult video) actors are hokei or not though. We can't see their penises because of the shading by the law. Choco ball mukai, legenday japanese porn actor is hokei according to wikidepi. Not 真性true hoke but 仮性psuedo hoke, I think.
In general japanese men were too concerned about hokei.
HI, Miss neat, was there any possibility that a foreign guy used hokei as phimosis? Phimosis is caled 真性true包茎 and public insuarance is applied when surgery. Phimosis is regarded as disease. Japanese men's hokei are mostly 仮性psuedo or interim hokei.
I can't know why japanese AV(adult video) actors are hokei or not though. Place whether in stead of why. Sorry.
仮性包茎 means penis which skin can be retracted by hand and stays retracted when erected. 真性包茎 means penis which skin can not be retracted from the top even by hand. These words are usual in japan. We use the word hokei selectively.
In the west does hokei mean only phimosis and you don't have the general word which corresponds to 真性包茎 or 仮性包茎?
I had Phimosis so I had my foreskin cut, and then totally forgot about it when asked if I had had any major operations at some time in my life at a mandatory service army doc inspection. This lead to a rather awkward conversation after the doc had looked everything through; "Mr. <blah>, about your penis..."
tl;dr: I dunno, do people actually usually notice or care?
As for the image from artificial satellite is very efficient and it can be distinguished a man on hte ground from another one . It seems that the ratio of arrests improves if the image used for the criminal investigation . At first , Whole Japanease land is around the clock taken in animation . And for example , a highschool girl's remains found out for instance somewhere , the image of the point is expanted , and the image of about time od death is searched and examined . Then everything is sure to be understood the appearance where the criminal have violated the homiside and where he run away and so on . . . Moreover if the crime is indoors done , it would be easy to specify the criminal with doing uestion of all cars and people that go in building and out of . However the crime done on the overcast day and nighttime though the investigation might be difficult . . . But it is certain that the ratio of arrests rises rapidry ! !
>>503 It took about a year to convince my company that I could and should work out here. In the end, I just said "fuck it" and booked the plane tickets myself without waiting for them to get everything ready. (They hurried up with things after that, but there are still things that aren't done. I don't have Japanese health insurance, for one thing. Bleah.)
It's not the inability, per se, to speak a few words of Japanese (I can do that, and was able to give a few directions when asked where 代官山駅 was) - but I can't actually converse. I neither know enough Japanese to comprehend what's said to me, or to reply in a meaningful fashion. It doesn't help that I can read much more than I can speak.
>>517 After working 8-10 hours a day (and sometimes more), I'm often too brain-dead to concentrate on learning Japanese (or do much of anything else.) I should probably just pony up the cash for private lessons.
>>520 That's pretty brave! Going to japan just like that. xD Good for you man. :) but yeah, you should get lessons. Japanese isn't the sort of language you can just learn by yourself or just pick up. At least in my experience, it's something you have to learn socially, with a teacher, partner, or class.
In other news, I'm going to see Indiana Jones today! yay! Time to see Indy kick some nazi butt!
In japan Indiana Jones has been called Indy Jones ever since its first movie including movie titles like Indy jones(インディ・ジョーンズ) and the 魔宮の伝説(the legend of the develish temple?). I don't know why. At least is it correct that Indy was the short term for Indiana and Indianna was called Indy in the movies? Maybe Indy is easy to pronunce for japanese, so the movie distributor chose Indy. I think we rarely say 'Indiana Jones' either when we talk about the character in the conversation.
Are you really 片岡数吉 of http://blog.goo.ne.jp/jsssmylrd? Is it okay for a public ? teacher like you to say something uneducational and immmoral on 2ch ?
>>172 Popping in for a quick visit. How's the Japanese studies moving along?
---
Care to give me an update if you're still here, Mr. Smertemann?
---
I'm fine myself. Studies are going well. I've been very busy for a long while now, but I have no complaints. Vacation is drawing close, thankfully. I doubt I'll me getting much time off, though, considering I'll probably be working for the entire summer.
After writing that, I realized that nobody asked. Oh well, if you wanted to know, you now do, and if not, the joke's on me.
>>530 They haven't had the actual prize draw yet, but I'll tell you if it turns up on my doorstep. Once, when I was about 15, I accidentally walked into a fetish shop. I had a huge interest in mediaeval history at the time, and the shop window was full of chain armour... I didn't know any better.
And a sidenote: it's nice to be able to post again. Although nowhere near the predicament スウェーデン人 is in, it seems that TLD .com hosts were unable to post for a day or two.
>>522 Any language is best learned by practicing it with others, but I don't think the basic concepts (grammar, etc.) of Japanese are any more or less difficult than other languages. Just my experience, of course.
So I'm back from the movie and hanging out with friends, so I'll post here before I go to sleep.
I got to go to the theater with my hat on, and a few other people were wearing Indiana Jones hats too! I sat in the back so that I could wear it the whole time. xD I really enjoyed the movie! A lot of it was very classic and had nonstop action! There was also a bit of a twist in this one that's completely different from the others! but I won't spoil it. >>526 Yeah, I guess Indy is easier to say in Japan. Indiana is also the name of a state, so it's pretty easy for us to recall. >>532 Haha, actually, the enemies are not Nazis in this one.No, I'm not national socialist. xD
>>535 Hey , keira ! ! It seems to like movie by you . Do you think about Hong Kong movies ? Have you seen Hong Kong movies "Cnoiti force"? This is the one scene ↓
Her physical strength is pretty high and she has an experience of participating in the game of kick boxing too , though she is a TV personality . How many is her strength in fighting among the all female talents? Moreover, if she fought against Ezumi Makiko ,could she win ? Please consider it during about one hour .
>>542 I'm still waiting. According to the Interweb FAQ, you are a lame know-it-all douchefag, but I don't believe that shit. I believe in you. Please come back and prove you are not a faggot.
>>547 Stalking who? I was doing something else, got back here and posted it. Can you explain that "read between the lines" thing if you are still here?
>>520 I think it goes to show IT related company has more flexibility than conventional companies. You seem to have creativity to make a job cut out for you in Japan even though they don't think there are no necessities and needs to send someone to Japan.
>>523 Thank you for the info. Yes! That's it! To tell you the truth, after posting the question here, I posted the same question in Techno board in 2ch (Yes, various kinds of boards are in 2ch and that helps) and got the same Youtube link from someone anonymous. Here's a remixed and long version. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QCYST35gSvU&feature=related Whenever I listened to the tune, I feel emotional and at the same time, some kind of energy well up from inside.
>>542 Wish I could tell you how the whole hat thing started, but I have no idea myself. Just early memories from around age 3, when I used to wear a sheet over my head. And standing on the sandy beaches of Cyprus, aged 4, with a bucket on my head.
>>553 I'm actually doing the same exact job in Japan as I did in the US. Same boss, same duties, same everything - just in a rather distant office. I could do my job from pretty much anywhere I had a network connection.
>>556 Hmm... That shows all the more your compnay is very tolerant about employees behaviors. They have to afford your housing cost or other related expenses that don't have to be paid if you are in US. You just wanted to live in Tokyo and packed everything and came to Japan based on your personal dream and still your company doesn't give you a pink slip. Usually it takes reasonable reasons to do that. Maybe be you have good presentation skill to convince them that's worthwhile. But you said above that you just you pressed your point. Anyway, it's good you managed to come to Tokyo. Good for you.
I can relate to what you said. Speaking is difficult than reading. You have to understandquickly what a speaker says and react to him. Unfortunatey you can't expect quick solution to that, instead you have to make steady effort to improve your Japanese. Just try to enjoy conversation is the most important thing while you make steady effort. Maybe you can use Skype to improve your listening and speaking skills. Lots of Japanese who study English are on Skype and looking for Language exchange partner there can be fun.
>>554 I made a paper "kabuto." Japanese people have made this when they are kids like in kindergarten, elementary school or at home. I forgot how to make it so I searched for how to make it online. Kabuto is a kind of protective hat when samurai worriors wear when in a battle as you may know.
Is it common to wear a costume of characters when you see a movie at a movie theater in US? I've heard some enthusiastic fans of Star Wars dress like Darth Vader but it's all new to me that you dress like Indiana Jones.
Is the movie the latest movie of Indiana Jones series?
>>560 I dressed up all Jedi-like for the newish three Star Wars movies, with self-built lightsaber and all that. There were several people like me, even in our rather smallish cinema...
>>563 Oh, I see. So that's not uncommon there. That sounds like fun. I heard American people watch movie like they are watching a spectator sports in a stadium. They sometimes do standing ovation at the end of the movie. They even shout "go for it!" or things like that to characters in say, action films. That can't happen in Japan.
>>558 No! I'll never own a Burberry hat. In the UK, Burberry is a sort of chav brand.
>>563 A few people here dressed up all Jedi-style when the latest three Star Wars movies came out. However, a whole load of people dressed up as Harry Potter characters whenever those movies came/come out. And this was at our small local cinema (the sort with leopardprint seats and a shady looking guy perched in the corner of the foyer, selling what the sign says is popcorn). We're supposed to be getting a new, much larger cinema, but the whole 'credit crisis' thing had that put on hold for the time being. Oh well...
What is you guys nickname as a kid? Mine is Nabe-chan. I don' know why they kept calling me that. I suspect that had something to do with my real name, but I'm not so sure.
Hey you guys. Which american presidential candidate are you rooting for, McCain or Clinton? I think it is going to be yet another very close election, but in the end I want him to win.
>>554 I do remember some things around that age too, just a few fragmented flashes of memory though. Anyway, to be honest with you, I got sort of interested in chain armor a couple of years ago actually. There was a chain armor section in the museum I used to go to quite often, and they had this small armor tailored for an about 120cm tall child. It looked so freaky it took me a while to register that such a little kid was in a battle field wearing that and brandishing a sword. Maybe, it was just a decoration for display purposes even at that time, but still, it was creepy enough. Did children actually get drafted as warriors in the medieval era?
movie theatre in japan is very silent place and everyone here is very neat. I think people yelling at screen and wielding fists would be considered as freaks here. Is it true foreingners, especially americans, do standup and yell in the cinema?
I once lived in a country side for a while and movie theter here was rather friendly and open. On a comedy movie, laughing voice spread together in harmony. I was not the local. So some kind of impressive experience.
In tokyo people in movie thetre are more dispersed and silent.
Where I lived was not osaka. Osaka is a big city. But you can feel the atmosphere when you see バラエティー生活笑百科. The audience is more freindly and smiling. It's my intuition and maybe rather odd opinion. But I feel the audience in studio or theatre are different from that of tokyo.
I'm not both tokyo or kansai people in strict sense.
Ah ha, Russia just won the Eurovision Song Contest (mainly due to former USSR countries voting for them, but oh well). The UK came joint last out of the 25 finalists, along with Poland and Germany. Ukraine came second, and Greece third.
>>574 Yes, children were drafted at times. Since warfare was a lot more physical during the middle ages their usage on the battlefield was rather limited though. Still, a young squire had to accompany the knight he served to war and a common child might have been forced to serve in the local militia. With gunpowder artillery, children became a more frequent sight on the battlefields. First in supportive positions, with tasks like cleaning and loading artillery, later, as firearms became more advanced, also in fighting positions. In the case you mentioned, it might be different though. A drafted child would have never been able to afford a suit of armour, so it was either made for a rather short adult warrior, or some rich, most likely noble, parent had it made for his son. In medieval Europe, it was quite common for noble parents, if they were rich enough to afford it, to have suits of armour made for their progeny in order to get them used to wearing it from early age on (e.g. Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. got his first suit of plate armour at the age of 12 years).
>>580 I just watched the Russian song and some others on youtube. There were many negative comments aout the Russian guy's accent, and some people said Eurovision participants should just sing in their own language. What do you think? Do their accents really ruin the songs?
What german guy are you talking about? Was there any German guy in this thread before, or something? And he is supposed to be in Japan about now? Not bad. Not bad at all.
If you would like to see temples or Japanese traditional something, you should go to Asakusa. If you are interest in anime, comic or electronical production, Akihabara is the best place. What are you interest in? I lived in Tokyo two months ago, so I can help you.
>>607 Are you the guy who said before that you haven't entered uni but thinking about going to uni after one year break or something? I remeber him saying he'd visit Japan.
Anyway, enjoy your stay. Go to Akihabara and try maid cafe. And be careful when you walk on the street at night. Ninja could sneak up to you from behind and you could be mugged. :P
>>581 Thanks. It all makes sense if the suit was made for some noble child, since now I can vaguely recall some design being etched all over it. But then, after a glance over a couple hundreds of images of armor suits, now I'm pretty much convinced of the presense of some children in armor on the battlefields then; there's a bunch of pictures of "boy's armour for use in combat" that has a rather plain look. And I also found a pic of 'amour for a dwarf' by accident. lol Well, those 'tin man' things are highly addictive I guess. Thanks for your explanation.
>>603 Personally, I have no problem when people who aren't native speakers trying to sing in English. Sometimes it even makes it a little more interesting - a little extra character. However, I do feel that the Eurovision Song Contest is more about showcasing national talent, and it would be more appropriate for the contestants to sing in their own language. I actually prefer hearing them in their own language (I think Serbia did a very good job again this year), but a lot of countries feel they have a higher chance of winning if they sing in English.
For example, in 2005, her performance was pressured to be changed completely to English, but fortunately she decided on a happy medium and it wasn't completely ruined: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=gucj-2OcXEs
Anyway, need to go check on the cake now. Baking again...
>>617 >>610 Sadly I am very interested in Akihabara (don't get me wrong I didn't just come for animation and video games). This is partially because I've been to Tokyo before and have already seen all of the basic sights. I have been to Akihabara before quite a few times but I usually just play some games or buy things. Can I actually go to a maid cafe? Wouldn't not knowing Japanese very well be a problem? Anything in particular to do in Akihabara that I might not know of?
Oh sorry, I forgot to answer. No I am not the person who wanted to go to Japan before going to uni. I posted earlier in the thread a few times but not under any particular name or identity.
>>621 Exactly. I pity the foreign fools who think they know what eroge is all about just by playing translated games or deciphering it with a dictionary. They don't and will never understand a fraction of the true Hentai science. Pity.
Do you know what Hentai means in Japanese? It means ''pervert''. I don't watch any adult animations nor play adult games but I hate that these are called ''Hentai'' in foreign contries. It is a horrible naming. Wrong word usage I think that in Japan people who feel strong disgust by these animations and games might call them Hentai, but few.
I think that tax be unecessary . To begin with , tax is needed to apply it to the national buget . But if a lot of notes were printed and they were applyed to the national buget , it would be not necessary to get the tax from the people . Moreover , if a lot of notes were printed and distributed it to the paople , poverty would be lost from Japan . However , it is misterious for nobody to have thought out such an easy method . . . I am a first man who is as for this method ! ! If this method is adopted , I will be a person who leaves the name of the history more than Christ ! ! ! .
>>623 I've noticed there are a lot more foreigners (including myself) and "big stores" there now. Also it seems like more regular people (not to offend) are also there now. What is going on anyways?
>>638 In short, Akihabara became a place for genpop. "Otaku culture" in Akihabara is just a superficial label to attract people for commercial purposes. It first worked for Otaku people. Now it also works for the genpop. So it attracts all kinds of people now. That is what you've witnessed today, I guess.
>>639 orz Wow... That makes it seem a lot less interesting now. Where do real otakus go now then? I think I'm most interested in Japanese internet culture (VIP, futaba) but is there any place for those people?
Λ_Λ ◯( ´∀` )◯ Thank you for your help!! \ / |⌒I、│ (_) ノ ∪
You can get some glimps of maid-cafe in Akihabara by watching these videos. Sorry if I'm worng again but are you the guy who posted when you were in Kyoto? The guy said he was in Kyoto and asked what he should do at night to enjoy nights in Kyoto. He said he would go to Tokyo, too.
I'm afraid I'm not a Tokyoite and don't know much about Otaku culture and where you can enjoy something otaku in Tokyo. I heard Tokyo Midtown is a new tourist attraction spot. Google it and then I think you can gather info about it. If I'm not wrong, it's commercial complex. I don't know if it's worth visiting when you don't have anything in mind to buy... But don't beleive me, after all I don't live in Tokyo. Check it out on the net before you go there.
>>557 Oh, my company isn't paying for housing. They're not paying for anything, actually; it costs them the same amount for me to be in Tokyo as for me to be in California. (Maybe even less, since they're short on office space in California.)
Mostly, I need to sit down and make Japanese language learning a priority. I've been blowing it off and working too much. I need to do more tourist stuff, too. (I still haven't been to 大阪 or 京都.)
>>644 That's the German guy. The one who was in Kyoto.
>>636 I think otakus still go to Akiba, because there's no other place for them to go, or is there? And what's wrong with seeing lots of foreigners? Akiba attracted tourists even 10 yaears ago.
About maid cafe, the German guy who went to one only new a couple of Japanese words. (thanks, sorry, etc) So you can too.
Please teach me how to set up PCSX2 properly. I have installed PCSX2 9.4, but I can't get it running on the computer. When I try to open a ISO file, a window pops up and says something like "CDVD" can't be opened. What should I do about it? I have no idea what it means and what to do with it.
this is first time to drop by at this thread. i found that you guys are so fluent in english. i do wonder where you guys' nationalities are... don't tell me everyone is japanese.
Or it'd be still good to link me to a website where I can read up on PSCX2. What I need is concise discriptions. I just want to play ps2 games on the comuter. So is there anyone with good knowledge on it?
Does anyone here know what "ghost" exactly means in the Ghost in the Shell series? I first thought that ghosts are something like a soul, but I am not so sure now. All I know is that ghosts are those which differentiate cyborgs like Motoko from robots. Motoko talks about her ghost's "whispering" to her, so it could also mean the intuitive faculty of the mind. I don't even know whether the Puppet Master and Tachikoma have ghosts at all. Did Oshii ever give a clear?definition of ghosts anywhere? If he does, it would be great if anybody could give me a reference.
>>686 I take it you already fell in love. An IT company invited Magibon to Japan and actually she visited a Japanese TV station. You'll be amazed that her web page is set up to sell video files of her. Magibon's a celeb in Japan.
Ugh, I'm sick'n tired of this Magibon hater who's obssessed with making those stupid ghetto ass videos. It's gotta be some hopeless psycho or ugly loser that needs to get a life..
>>683 I don't think he ever truly defines it but I am pretty sure a "ghost" is like your consciousness. AI should not normally have a ghost but the Tachikomas were able to develop ones. I think it's just a word for human consciousness.
>>699 I think you should search the web by yourself.
>there are two methods to use Iso’s on PCSX2 … : >1. Use a Virtual CD Software like Daemon Tools (freeware for personal use) or other virtual cd software ;) >and configure pcsx2 cd drive to use the virtual drive >2. Configure pcsx2 cdvd plugins to use any *iso* plugins name
>>700 You are so nice to me, but I can't solve a problem. Even though I configured cdvd plugins, I was told CDVD wasn't opened. Don't know why. What else should I do to function PCSX2...?
>>701 Hmm, maybe I can't help you any more. Have you searched the error messages on the web? If you haven't yet, please try with the "correct" error messages.
Do you buy your ROMs? Does it ask you to insert the original CD, doesn't it? Anyway, I believe you can get your problem solved quite easily somewhere like a game site.
Magibon is an American girl. But some people (mostly from America) believe she's half-Japanese. That makes me laugh. Of course, her profile says her current living place is Japan (that's a lie), but they can't tell her nationality is America. And a more laughable thing is, some people made a responce video in which (probably) American girls shout at Magibon, criticizing Asian girls. lol The one that they criticise for making stupid nothingness videos is American! Not Asian. lol Why are some American that stupid?
>>725 There are a lot of stupid people on youtube. Those people COULD HAVE been joking though. I think it's hard for some people to tell if she is Asian or not mainly because they don't have much exposure to Asian people or are extremely quick to come to conclusions. But yeah, there are a lot of obnoxious and stupid videos on youtube. Unfortunately, stupidity is a worldwide disease orz >>726 Well I am officially testing that legend right now; we'll see if I get sick lol.
>>728 How can you get access to Internet? You get aceess to it with your own laptop PC brought from US? If so, through what ISP do you use? You access to Internet through wireless network?
>>728 I know most of the response videos to Magibon are jokes, just making fun of her stupid staring videos, but believe me, some of them are made out of wrong/pure hatred towards Asian people. I was like "WTF? They don't know what they are saying!" and couldn't help but wearing a sloppy smile.
Come to think of it, it's part of Magibon's fault, though. lol Why does she lie about her place like that? I wonder...
Ah, good point. I understand what you mean. It'd be nice to ignore all the things you don't wanna see, but once you notice there's a misunderstanding about something, you can't help but to ignore it. It's only human.
I know some people in here are not Japanese, but have you guys ever used Niconico douga? It's like a Japanese version of youtube, but as niconico came up later, it's better than youtube. You need to sign up beforehand in order to use the website, though.
The hardest thing I've ever done is keep believing there's someone in this crazy BBS for me The way that 2chers come and go through temporary lives My chance could come and I might never know I used to say no promises let's keep it simple But freedom only helps you say good-bye It took a while for me to learn that nothing comes for free The price I paid is high enough for me I know I need to talk in 2ch, I know I wasted too much time I know I ask perfection of a quite imperfect BBS And fool enough to think that's what I'll find
I was at an arcade today (Hey!) and I started playing this game called Quest of D (I am a nerd, I know). Has anyone else played it? I think I am addicted now. orz
>>748 Oh! Do you really? I wonder if you leave comments. That function is quite different than that of Youtube, isn't it? Thanks to the system, you can know exactly where and feel how excited people are. I like Niconico better than YT in that sense.
Hmm... my manager got fired today. So now there are only three of us in the department who have to handle all the designwork, including things people want changing. At least the other new guy is the one who has to talk to all the angry customers, and not me.
>>754 Saw that video a few months ago, but couldn't help watching it all the way through again. Not surprised that he's getting a little bit frustrated though...
>>755 You use Niconico alsO? Beautiful. Anyway, the video... It's quite funny.. And the comments are also funny. The more frustrated he becomes, the funnier he becomes to me. lol
>>764 Ah, it's the guy who runs the company who knows nothing about web design and development. Unfortunately, it was the design manager (who was actually pretty good) who was fired. Something to do with taking on freelance work...
I am curious. Do Japanese people like PC games, not visual novels, but first person shooters like Quake or Half Life? Is there a place where you can play games like this in Tokyo? Like a LAN gaming place?
>>771 I am curious to know where you are from. So far, it's reported that Sweden's ISPs are banned.
>>775 I'm not a gamer nor Otaku, so I have no clues. Why don't you try Internet cafe? At least you can play online games there. By the way, I've never been to Internet cafe.
What are visual nevels? Do you mean role playing games? Boy, you love video games or things like that. You've never reported what turist attractions or sightseeing spots you went. All you need is information about gaming. I'm not blaming you, though.
>>775 You should go to the the Internet cafe, but I don't know if the game is installed. Most of the online game which is installed at there is MMORPG, I think....
>>777 I thought the visual novels were the adult games called "Ero-ge."
>>777 Haha yes I am very much a nerd. However, my reason for not listing attractions etc. is mainly because I've already seen the sights in a previous trip and now I am just enjoying getting a feel for "living" in Tokyo you could say. Of course I would be doing nerd things if I lived here. ww
I started to went to English speaking school last month. I thought I would be able to speak english well if I talked with people whose mother tongue is english. But I realized that it is mere a dream, and I realized another thing too. I have to study english harder than before bcause I payed a lot of money for tuition.
>>767 If only there was enough time to browse 2ch during actual worktime... we're kept really, really busy (which is good, I guess, because time seems to pass so much faster). Right now, I'm on my lunch break. Anyway, if they did ask, I'd just tell them something stupid like "I come here for inspiration. This site is a huge archive of classical and contemporary poetry", since they'd not be able to read any of the threads anyway.
I'm thinking of leaving university for at least a semester, because I am failing everything. I heard that going on a break refreshes people and when they return they usually feel more enthusiastic about uni. Is this true? Or should I just get a full time job and just focus on making a money?
>>786 If you feel time passes so quickly, then that's partly becasue you enjoy working there. What do you eat for lunch? You take something to eat to your workplace or buy something at a shop nearby?
>>788 Ask to yourself if you are just trying to escape from reality or hard time. If you think you can rechaege yourself during one year break then, it might be a good idea, but you would end up graduating from other students one year behind.
>>788 I think it depends on your thinking. If you just want to ran away from your situation, it will bear no fruit. Before you have a break time, you'd better confront yourself.
Yes yes, I know it can be considered running away, but since I am failing a lot of subjects, all I am doing right now is costing my parents lots of tuition fees. Besides, I am not worried about other students and what they think. No one cares about each other at uni. Also, there are other things, such as the fact that I don't actually like my subject. If I took a break, then I would be able to see if I really missed uni or not.
It's so fuckin stupid, but I listened to it till the end. I like it. I wanna hear more. くだらねーと思いながらも最後まで聴いちまったぜ。もっと聴きたいぜ。 Which radio station should I check to listen to crazy shit like that? これはどこのラジオ局で聴けるねん?
>>791 I think time passes by quickly because I work best while under pressure. Also, the worst customers are always counsellors. Had to completely redesign the site (which someone else originally did) for one because she apparantly had a huge tantrum over the phone.
>>795 I was working on a site for a dance school today. They specialised in street jazz and hip hop... maybe I should sneak that link in somewhere...
>>797 That's true. May as well get it over with and get something out of it than just have wasted time there. I regret dropping out of university. Though, he's just talking about taking a break and not quitting it altogether.
>>800 It is soooo funny, isn't it? I laughed to death! Maybe it's on J-Wave, maybe not. I'm not sure. Maybe they don't air the show anymore. You can google if you're interested.
>>803 I missed your post. So you've watched the video. Miura Jun is funny when he is on radio but he won't get popularity on TV. He's kind of underground.
>>783 You can do it! Just remember, the key to overcoming any language is breaking the psychological barrier. Think in the language, try not to "translate" in your head. If that makes any sense.
>>814 It gives me a little confident that I can at least communicate my English words, which I actually speak in my mouse, to foreighers. It makes me feel better, in addition, I don't know why, english words which I don't know or forget are much easier to remember there than I study by myself. >>815 Its psychologcal barrier is too big for me but I want to break it. I heard that there is a man who forgets which language he heard from morning news. Thank both of you.
I am hardly attracted by women wearing makeup on and my girlfriend is also never doing it. Actually I believe that my girlfriend becomes most beautiful when she has no makeup on. I personally feel that most women would be less beautiful wearing makeup on than when not doing.
And here I want to say that now I am never meaning the cosmetic effect for social etiquette but I mean the attractiveness by doing makeup.
Although some women insist that they are not always doing makeup just for attract males, they still are thinking of attracting males or showing themselves as nice as possible to other woman.
And so, I want to know if other men, in fact, ever find such women attractive, as being desperate for looking beautiful by doing makeup.
>>818 So do I . Women who don't have makeup on are beautiful because of their natural beauty. Although I think its value depends on your subjectivity, therefore some love loud women like actresses, others love conservative women like lawyers. Value of beauty changes with every element such as a generation, a country, an environment and so on.
today I saw pole in my class for the first time and she was very pretty. Is it true that there are many beautiful women in Poland, compered to the other countries?
>>819 Yeah, I especially agree with your word, natural beauty.
I think women who always wear makeup on can not have confidence in themselves. Other way round, I can see overflowing charm in women who are able to get confident without cosmetics.
What does everybody think about Barack Obama? I will probably vote for him, though I would have rather had Mark Warner (Virginia Governor) be the nominee. Hopefully Obama will make Mark Warner his Vice-President.
I think McCain is the best for "Japan," because the Republic Party is pro-Japan. Obama has the political or other abilities, but it's intimidating to me. I'm sorry for my selfish opinion....
>>824 Why do you recommend Mark Warner? I don't know much about him.
>>818 I agree!! My girlfriend used to wear make-up and when I eventually asked her why she said it was for me. I told her I preferred her without it and she hasn't worn any since. It is so much better!
>>824 I am for Obama just because he is more capable than McCain it seems. I would have preferred Kucinich to be the nominee though. He seems like a total jerk but his policy makes a lot of sense.
>>826 good for you. In my case, I chose such girl as not wearing makeup on. My girlfriend is very honest. She tells me anything even if it is about her own bad character. She never hesitate to tell something because she might be disliked.
Is there anyone here who has nintendo 64 and can suggest which RPG to play? In fact, there's almost no RPGs made by Japanese software companies, so I wonder if there are good RPGs made in the USA.
rather I suggest that you should buy super famicom my favorite RPG is “tenchi-souzou”and I think it is one of the masterpieces in Japan however it is not well known, so I think few people know it
Hello, everyone! Nice to meet you! I am shigater. This is my first uploading, so I feel kind of nervous. So..... what story am I going to tell you? Ummmmm, anyway, I'll get started!
My name is Patrick. 18 Years old, from asia, and love baseball.
I wanted to talk about my homestay experience in Australia last year. I went to Cairns in last June, and had stayed with an Australian family for 3 weeks. I have only one bad memory that I got ill for few days, but, after that, I enjoyed myself very much. In Australia, the nature was very beautiful. I was surprised when I saw wild parrots and parakeets! When I woke up in the morning, I could hear their songs. They made me feel very good! My host father was chinese australian . at first, when I met him at the airport, I was surprised because I thought that HE would be European, but I soon started to feel comfortable with him, Because he is asian like me, We had a lot in common . I heard that there are a lot of people from Hong Kong there. At a night market in Cairns, a salesperson talked to me in Japanese, but I ignored her as if I couldn't understand Japanese. Oh yeah I am japanese. And..... I went to a festival, the Cairns Show、With 4 NAUGHTY girls, we visited around for a while. I was pretty tired. i was not familiar to them at that time..
And, I want to tell you about Tony. I was a lazy student because of the illness, but I was glad I could get acquinted with him, Tony, at English language school. We hang out many places together. He is over 50 years old, He is charming and nice, and gentleman.
And.... I bought a cap at a department store?. maybe Cains Central? and..... I found balls of kangaroo sold in a souvenior shop!
So, now you know, I couldn't improve my English so much, but I could experience many things, and got a great fun! I want to go there again.
This script is by unknown person from 2channel, one of biggest BBS in Japan and Sebastien un Quebecois at skype ,and usually, I can't talk like this in English. Thank you for your watching my video until the end. See ya mates!hooroo!

Qustion!! The governor announced that the national government would build a concert hall _____ could accommodate 300 people. 1what, 2 which, 3 how, 4 where
Answer is 2 but why? Pls explain about the answer why i could'nt choose the 1...too.
I don't think so. I love the high realistic visual effects of PS and PS2. In addition, SFC and FC can't keep my play-data well. I never forget that SFC spoiled my Super Mario's data again and again.
Cho Makaimura(Super Ghouls 'N Ghosts) is one of the best platform-games ever made for SFC. Not only it's extremely challenging but there's no such thing as a savepoint in this long ass game. So, be careful about playing this one, 'cause it could probably ruin your life if you get hooked on it.
I made PS, N64 work, but GC seems to need a joystick, DC is hard to set up, PS2 needs a high-spec computer. I think I'll set DC up somehow, and if there's a way in which I don't need a Joystick to play GC, I think I'll try it again.
>>871 Yes!Yes! I love 超魔界村 too! Arther, a player of this game has to do particular act to make a treasure box appear, which contains a grade-up item. There are a lot of particular actions hidden at each place in every stage and it is lots of fun to find out those actions. I also think that this game is quite beautiful graffically in spite of SFC's soft.
>>877 The graphics are fairly nice, actually. My favorite is the stage with snowfall. It's pretty funny when a witch throws a spell on Arthur to turn into a baby, walrus or little girl and then you can't really do anything about it for a few seconds. That usually happens when you're quite busy dealing with enemies, so puts you in a sudden panic.. I like to play it again sometime.
I doubeted that wearing a speedo swim suit gives swimmers advantage. But at the swimming competiotion held today (yesterday?) three or four swimmers who wore a speedo made Japanese records. Until the swimming competition, Japanese swimmers weren't allowed to wear a speedo because Japanese swimming association have contract with Mizuno or other Japanese swimsuite manufacturers.
But now that it's proved that Speedos make better records, all Japanese swimmers will wear Speedo in Beijing Olympics. Oh my, Japanese technology was beaten by British swimsuite maker? Can't believe it. What has Mizuno and other Japanese makers were doing? I wouldn't wear Speedo cuz my penis propells at lightnening speed and that gives me driving force.
One scale isn't enough to measure sumo wrestlers weight, so two scales are used to measure their weight, each foot on each scale. Standing on two different scales, it's difficult and fun experience try to weigh their weight evenly on each wscale.
That inspires Nintendo's game producer and that led to Wii sports. No complex effects or gimmics are need to make a big hit. Fun is simple.
I phone wil make its debut in Japanese market and Softbank is the carrier that seems to have monopolized selling right.
Maybe Docomo, another carrier was beaten by Softbank in negotiation with Apple. Maybe Docomo ofered less attractive offer to Apple. Softbank is a new comer as a sell phine carrier but it seems it is increasing its share and the contarct with Apple will boost its market share alittle bit more. What a shit. The top of Softbank is Korean, who studied at UC Barkly and He set up Yahoo Japan. I hear his way of doing business isn't clean.
>>892 As long as you type looking at the key board, you'll never learn to type without looking. Firts, you only have to do fix your both forefinger on "f" and "j". And then you will get to learn gradually to type fast without looking.
>>894 >>895 In my case, of course at first, I couldn't type other keys than alphabet, such as "a", "b" and so on. Next, I got to be able to type , . ? without looking because these three keys are used relatively often. I've now been able to type almost all number keys, too. However, I still can't do well with some of keys on the right end.
Then lastly, you'll start typing without even thinking. On this level, there's no clear distinction between you and the keyboard. They say the keys become some sort of extention of your body, but in fact you are part of the computer.
Somewhere deep down I have mental barrier to this PC thing. Using PC is not so fun to me. I don't mind if all the PCs and Macs vanish from the earth. So it has been difficult to learn touch typing.
>>905 I was there today when it happened. I was literally probably only 10 or 20 minutes away from actually being on that crosswalk. I didn't actually witness it but I saw the bodies... It was very disturbing to say the least.
>>907 I watched the news and they said that he said he was depressed and came purposefully just to kill people. I am assuming he wanted to die himself so wanted to kill other people before he died? He was apprehended though.
I don'tunderstand that. I would kill myself secretly without drawing public attentions. He must have grudge against society which he thinks has treated him badly.
>908 I watched the news too. I was very surprised that someone stabbed so many people to die in the daytime. We have to watch well when we are walking on the road of Tokyo from now because there might be some crazy man approaching to us for killing us without no reason. I really feel sorry for those who were murdered in the accident.
>>910 The fact is that if someone seriously decided to kill you, there's no way to prevent it. The fact you live now is that nobody has ever tried to kill you. I was shocked to realize this fact but it's true. Of course you can ask the poilice for help, but protection from the police never continue forever. If someone seriously try to kill you nobody can prevent it.
On the same line, if someone decides to kill himself, nobody can stop him. Nobody can put him under surveylence forever. The reason why you are alive now is that nobody has ever tried to kill you and you've never tried to kill yourself in your whole life. I was shocked to realized this but it's true.
This is a terrible event. CNN has prejudice though. It says the stabbings happened in 'in a video game district', and is trying to suggest that video games were an influence. At least BBC calls it 'a busy shopping area known as Electric Town'.
The moment the convict was arrested. A passer-by seems to have shot the video with his cell phone. Everybody is a jounalist with means to express thier opinons or their works on the net.
He was frustrated. This is true. He has been treated like a comsumptious tool. He has been treated like wastes. He lives as a free man but he is treated in the same way [ as a slave is treated ]. He did not want to live any longer. His grudge has accumulated so too much [ that it grew so huge [ that he could himself no longer control within himself and chose a place [ he should die [ protesting the society ] ] ].
>>915 what you say may be true because he seemed to have strong will to kill and this fact suggest that he should be unsatisfied with society I think normal person doesn't commit a crime like this
>>918 Yes it should! Jumping to conclusions is the only way to live. I guess this is a fine time to introduce another western phrase into Japan - "Shit happens". Seriously, you guys are going to have as many nutters and loons running around as we do.
whoever [ that says [ black people are inferior ] ] must fall in Gehena [ where solpher burns foever ] [ because that one is not humanity but a delegate of Saturn [ because the one doesn't know [ what horriblly heavy background black people have come [ carrying ] ] ].
>>927 Long time. No see. The Jared Taylor supporter! Jared Taylor is a really intellectual guy. He lived in Japan in his youth and can speak Japanese as well as English and French. He graduated from Yale and got master's degree at at Grandes Écoles in French. Grandes Écoles is regarded as superior to university like Sorbonne.
David Duke got a Phd on jewish study. Duke didn't hide his antipathy to the jew.
However Jared Taylor compromises with jewish problem. Taylor include jews as "white" and aim at collobating with the jews to separate from Blacks. How do you think about his tactics about the jew? Duke claims that the jews have always been obstacle to the survival of white race. You think it is reasonable to make a truce with the jews meanwhile and tackle jewish problems after excluding blacks and hispanics?
whoever [ that attacks black people and other weeks [ saying [ that they are inferior ] ] must fall in Gehena [ where solpher burns foever ] [ because that one is not humanity but a delegate of Saturn [ because the one doesn't know [ what horriblly heavy background they have come [ carrying ] ] ].
>>937 Hi! Well, I think it is moer reasonable to have a truce with the Jews for now. Generally many Jews want to promote multiculturalism. But there are some Jews who do not want this, so we must welcome them with open arms.
Yes, I know Jared Taylor can speak fluent Japanese. A Great article by Mr. Taylor is here:
>>942 I agree. But Aren't you ont the side of beneficiaries, a public school teacher? I thikn school teachers are protected by the authorities and their income and status are much highner than these of western countries.
Aren't you the adminstrator of 人生、哲学、学問、英語、English・・・片岡数吉?
>>946 There are some good jews. Even duke admits it. Taylor don't mention the issue that multiculturalism and 'black is cool things' are mainly promoted by the jews. And jews in taylor's association also don't wanna talk about it.
That's the point duke are frustated with. Taylor are afraid of being called nazi and antisemite.
>>950 Yes. I can't recall exact date. During two decades or more, Image about blacks has changed dramatically thanks to cultures like basket ball hiphop. Blacks are sexy, sportive, athletic, masculine, etc etc. Japan is very susceptible to American culture. American culture is very influential. So Japan ends up in the same promotion some way. A comic featuring basketball was very popular. Do you know slum dank? I think slum dank is a fantasy story that japanese can do like black. And rap music has been popular among youth during a decade or more. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=ux6R36ib0Fc Look at this fool acting like black. He is self-proclaimed king of japanese hip hop.
I think most of eldery japanese are never attracted by black outer appearance as well as black culture. And there are still biased feelings to blacks. Like they are noisy and fool and violent. But it's also true that many japanese women are attracted by blacks. Many japanese men are wearing pants saggy. http://cache.g4tv.com/images/ImageDb3/007/152/image7152/7152_m.jpg I can say that not only image has changed but also even negative aspects(noisy, violent) became looking cool. see gangsta culture. Wannabe gangs in urban area were big problem several years ago.
Blacks seem to be having party in roppangi, foreigner's concentrated area. Blacks get treats they've never got in USA .
He is very sarcastic about the way Japanese rappers act in PV and he redicules Japanese rappers by playing such a stupid Japanese rappers himself in the video.
Hmm, I know about Roppongi. I have heard a lot of Japanese have a bad impression of foreigners as a result of the behaviour of blacks and Americans in this area. It is a shame because many educated people like engineers, software programmers, academics, and so on, want to work in Japan. Personally I think Roppongi clubs owned by Nigerians should be shut down and maybe instead set up an area for a small number of educated foreigners. That way, Japanese impressions of foreigners could improve and crime would go down. I think Nigerians are especially bad as they are involved in a lot of criminal gangs and so on. Also they tend to be more prone to violence.
I think because there are not a lot of blacks in Japan, Japanese have romanticized views of blacks too. They dont understand how dangerous the blacks can be. For example, recently in New York a woman was raped for 19 hours and tortured by a black man. He forced her to cut out her eyes with scissors. This is the true face of 'multiculturalism'.
Also. If you notice that civilized nations have 'high culture'. Europe has high culture, so does America, so does Japan. 'High Culture' is like paintings, opera and so on. Blacks have never had this. Black culture is negative, things like shouting and killing people and so on. They promote things like dealing drugs.
Recently a black video games reviewer got angry at the Japanese video game company KONAMI because of Resident Evil 5 (Biohazard 5) because it potrays blacks as savages.
But I think in America and Europe the women who like black men tend to be the lowest part of society. Is the same true in Japan?
>They dont understand how dangerous the blacks can be. >For example, recently in New York a woman was raped for 19 hours > and tortured by a black man. He forced her to cut out her eyes with scissors. > This is the true face of 'multiculturalism'.
By your logic:
They don't understand how dangerous the Japanese can be. For example, recently in Akihabara 10 people were severely injured and killed when a man ran over them with a truck and proceeded to stab them. This is the true face of homogenous culture.
Either you're a racist or a troll, either way you're an idiot and you got the attention you wanted. Bravo.
No. >>962, I know you are probably a promoter of race mixing and so on. But I think you should check the statistics on crime. Japan is the most homogenous developed nation on earth, and it is the SAFEST developed country. Murder rates, rape rates and so on are MUCH lower than in America or any multicultural western society.
Disgraceful conduct of celebrity negroes in Tokyo:
No. >>971 is a girl from 4chan. Generally it is quite easy to tell who is a girl on 4chan because they like to 'attention whore' (get attention for being a girl). If you have seen it before it is so easy to spot because of the prose. Generally such people are dismissed as camwhores and disliked on all boards.
You completely ignore that crime is also perpetuated in homogenous societies, and do not factor in other causes such as the economy, availability of guns, crimes that are reported, organized crime, a whole great deal of compounding factors. Race does not predispose one to violence, however, consequences against that race, such as long standing racism or economic failure, do.
No. >>977. Let's discuss America - In America many claim the police are bias against blacks.
But the National Crime Victimization Survey (survey of over 80,000 households) correlated well with arrest rates in racial terms. For example, the results of the NCVS state that blacks commit 55% of burglary and the arrest rates for blacks for burglary is 51%. If the police are 'racist', how can this be the case?
Secondly. It has long been understood, very well, that IQ is 60-80% heriditable in adulthood. Blacks have on average much lower IQs than whites. And for those who discount the value of IQ, IQ correlates well with earnings, education attainment and so on. Whereas low IQ correlates with crime, teenage pregnancy and so on.
You are like a fundamentalist religious person.
Just as proof of God's nonexistence would be met with claims that God fabricated such evidence to fool people, proof of negro inferiority is always met with claims that an omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient white entity is somehow manipulating the evidence to test the faith of egalitarians.
Whites, koreans, and japanese do more extraordinary crimes than Blacks. Crime is a usual, ordinary thing for blacks. So there is no extraordinary crime for blacks. Black can't contrive crime either. They commit crime out of burst of emotion. Many blacks attack and rape but never eat human-flesh. Few non-blacks attack and rape, let alone eat human flesh. Most of blacks are evil. Few non blacks are evil. And just a tiny tiny pinch of non-blacks are very very evil. You see.
>>980 Your anecdotal experience does not compare to statistics. In the US, over 33% of all blacks will be charged with a serious felony at some point during their lives. Over 50% will be charged any type of crime.
I doubt intelligence, crime and education is a biologically racial thing. Race matters in the sense that it 'bonds' people and ties them to a certain culture, but it's not biological. Case in point: Arabs and Muslims in Europe face the hardships of the ghettoes and societal rejection, and thus develop a thug culture similar to Blacks in the US. Arab-Americans and American Muslims, on the other hand, outperform even the East-Asian-Americans and Jews in fields like education, salary and social success.
How do you explain this from a racial point of view?
>>984 You must know that arabs are not welcomed in France, because Morrocans are like animals and have low IQ.
Yes, IQ is heriditable. Scientists have done tests on pairs of twins brought up in different socioeconomic spheres and they correspond. However, arabs must understand that they are GUESTS in European countries and are not welcomed if they behave badly. Unfortunately to behave badly is biological for them. Arabs in Europe must stop blaming Europeans for their misbehaviour.
>>985 You're ignoring my argument entirely. Moroccans act like animals in France because they're treated like animals, and vice versa. It's a vicious cycle. Furthermore, how do you explain, from a racial point of view, that American Arabs are extremely successful, upstanding citizens while European Arabs struggle with poverty?
I'd like to add that Moroccans aren't Arabs, but rather mostly Berbers, though that's beside the point.
Have you seen new 'Indiana Jones' movie? I saw it, but it was not good.... Sex and the City was a stupid movie, and it was more interesting than the Indiana Jones to me.
Some repugnant fools keep coming back to life over and over as if they never learned a thing from history. They just appear only to end in the same way for the same reason that they did before, sad to say.
