Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched [ as the crowds dropped in their money ]. * A: What did Jesus watch? B: he watched the (crowds)(drop) in their money.
Many rich people put in large amounts. Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins. Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others [ who are making contributions ]. * A: Who gave more in amount, the poor widow or all the others? B: [All the others] did. A: Who gave more to Jesus' eye, the poor widow or all the others? B: [The poor widow] did.
For they gave a tiny part of their surplus, but she, [ poor as she is ], has given everything [ she had [ to live on ].” * A: Why does Jesus think that the poor widow gave more than all the others? B: He (thought) that she (gave) more (because) she has given everything (that) she had (to) live on (while) all the others gave [a tiny part] of their surplus.
