Jesus sat down near the collection box in the Temple and watched
[ as the crowds dropped in their money ].

Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I tell you the truth,

A: Who gave more to Jesus' eye, the poor widow or all the others? B: [The poor widow] did.

For they gave a tiny part of their surplus,
but she, [ poor as she is ], has given everything [ she had [ to live on ].”

A: Why does Jesus think that the poor widow gave more than all the others?
B: He (thought) that she (gave) more (because) she has given everything (that) she had (to) live on
(while) all the others gave [a tiny part] of their surplus.
