For next thread's use, I put up ∫ version here.

Iced coffee can be really nice, but usually it's rather bitter.
Iced tea is often good too. But then, I don't really like hot
drinks.

It's snowing in the Kanto area this morning!
Expected max. tempreture is 4℃, cold〜〜!!

It has been reported that drinking coffee everyday reduces the risk of liver cancer by 50%,
reduces the risk of daibetes, soothing your temper, etc., however,
it has also been reported that taking in caffeine equivalent to 2 cups of coffee (or tea)
increases the risk of miscarriage....
What should I do?

I thought cold coffee are served only in Japan?
At least that's Japanese original way of drinking coffee.

As for coffee, I have always heard that it is supposed to be bad for
you. The health hype is more about green tea over here.

Interesting fact: Sweden is among the biggest consumers (per person)
of coffee. Green tea is relatively uncommon. It exists, of course,
but it is not the daily drink of choice for most people.

I suspect that most of these reports on verious foods and drinks being
healthy have to do with marketing. If you want to sell more of your
product, you find a scientific study claiming that your product is good
for the health; then you write an article and convince newspapers to
print it on a slow news day, and hope that people will read it.

In some regions in Japan, people make these when it snows; kamakura.
I made a small one when I was a kid, but today's snow is not going to lie that much

I believe people in Europe are hopeless when it comes to it cause baseball isn't

Hello, I'm headed to Japan soon and I'm looking for ideas on strange/offbeat things in Japan.
I traveled there for a month in 2006. This time we're going for Yuki Matsuri/Tokyo and

to know HTML to land a job in that company. Does computer science department
at uni teach you HTML? Do they teach you how to write a program? Do they teach
you programming languages?

One of the Japanese most popular SNS called GREE are started up by
a man who didn't major computer science. I heard programming is
something you teach your self like him. But is it better to learn it
in uni? What kind of knowledge do you need to get a job in IT industry
and does the knowledge is taught in computer science department of University?

I heard Photoshop or graphic design are taught in University school, too.
In what department of uni do they teach PC related graphic design?
Doesn't that have to do with computer science at all?

I'm back from Egypt and Jordan! It was fantastic!
Actually, I got back a few days ago, but I've only just recently gotten rid of the jetlag.
and hopefully I can buy a webcam sometime this week.

I'm going back to DOS! I heard there is no actual problems with soft for it, it supports multitasking (in the meaning of running a few programs simultaneously).
I will make my 256MB USB flashdrive bootable and write FreeDOS there. Then I'll setup drivers to support net and sound, and maybe some GUI shell (I'm not sure whenever it'd be necessary for me or not).
My DOS will have IM client, web browser, mp3 player and some emulators to play old games.
It will be much more faster than my current WinXP (which seriously needs reinstall).

No, Most americans don't have much of a problem with it, unless it's spoken really fast or mumbled.
My only real suggestion is maybe...watching a british program with english subtitles.

This is an invitation tocome out and join me. The last video was about
places. This one is about people. LOTS of people.So I'm not too concerned
about the background. I just want a place wherepeople can gather and
dance badly without getting into too much trouble.

The location is the steps in Tokyo's Yoyogi Park on Sunday, January
27th. Wewill dance at 3pm. Here's a link to the

for getting a good crowd together. We're not publicizing the event.

The boring details are below. If you can't make it, you don't need
to readany further: Please print out the attached release form and
sign it ahead of time, ifpossible. If you don't have a printer, I'll
have copies to hand out. Sorry,but I only have copies of the forms in
English. I'll also need to take a photo of each participant before
the dance andattach it to the release form so we can identify everyone
in the video. If you are under 18, you MUST be accompanied by a parent
or guardian who cansign the release form and be photographed with you.

Those are the rules Ihave to follow in order to use the footage.
The good news is that my sponsoris making a donation to charity for
each person who signs up and dances withme. Feel free to invite friends
to come with you. Just make sure everyone isokay with signing the
release form. When you get to the spot, look for the guy who looks
like the guy in thedancing video. Just come on over and say hello.

I shouldn't be too difficultto find. It will take some time to process
each person, so depending on how many showup, I may have to stop
accepting forms at some point and shoot the video.If you come early,
it'll make things a bit easier on me. The whole thing shouldn't take
more than 10 minutes to shoot. We'll set upthe shot, dance for about
15 seconds, do it one more time for good measure,and then try a couple
fun variations. There won't be any music. That gets added later.

Blasting a stereo justcomplicates things. Dance however you want to
the music in your head. I can't guarantee that the clip we shoot will
end up in the final video.There will be a lot of footage to choose
from and some of it will not beused. You're welcome to bring your own
camera. After the shoot, I'll stick aroundfor pictures and stuff.

I assume you have much more exposure to American television than to
British. If this is the case, I'd just advise you to try and watch
more British shows, just to get used to listening more. If you want
to try a mixture of regional (but not extreme) accents, try shows
like Blackadder, Monty Python or Red Dwarf. Some of the accents used
are Received, which should make them easier to understand.

I'm happy to dance with you in your ownpicture/video, so don't hesitate

When I saw some video clips(variety shows ane music live videos), I found out

matsujun is hot, sho is cute, yamap is my boyfriend, and so on.
What do you think about it? Are you in league with those girls? Do you think

Type きごう　and then press the space key. You see lots of きごう including
a star, circle and you name it.

I feel like screaming. Actually I screamed a bit and punch tatami mat
again and again to releave my frustration.

Being able to post here means I'm in the extreme of pain like I experienced
few days ago but still, Pain I have now is big enough for me not to
sleep. If I can't sleep, that means I haven't slept for two whole nights.

I've been in pain like this for the past two weeks, I got shot in my arm consecutive
days even on past Saturday and Sunday, when hospital is not in operation for usual
patients. Shots doesn't work so I took IV to cure my condition and
it worked and from morining (after IV) up until I go to bed my condition
was OK but I lay on futon and tried sleeping, Pain hit me and
now I can't sleep. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Ouch ouch ocuh.... continus waves of
pain coming to me...

Question to all the sushi lovers out there: When you eat sushi (with wasabi
and soy sauce), do you mix the wasabi into the soy sauce, or do you just leave
the wasabi at the side and eat some wasabi after you put the sushi into your mouth?
Which method do most people use? Are both accepted?

Also, when you are dipping your sushi into the soy sauce (I'm talking about the

I'm back from the hospital. It takes less than 30 minutes to an from
hospital and I didn't get involved in any traffic accident. If I can't
sleep tonight or in the daytime today, I'll take but to the hospital nad
my chance of getting hospitalized will increase with my condiotn not being

Today is Wednesday. I don't know if what day in a week influenses the

Arrgh, the idiots at my university don't understand the concept of
different character encodings. Whenever I try to send something from
my webmail account, it comes out garbled as HTML entities. (That is,
「漢字　カナ」 becomes "漢字　カナ")

So I told the support staff, and they replied: "We have tried sending
mails from and to the webmail, and we didn't see any problem."

What's going on? Either those retards sent just "testing 123" type
messages; I doubt they they really tried to break things, or they just
sent HTML attachments around and it never occurred to them. Sigh...

Pain in my foot comes and goes then comes and goes. This cycle is repeated

Put a painkiller at 2:30 and tried to sleep but the pain which is like stinging
needles prevent me from falling asleep. It's like numbness and tingling in really

This is not maximum pain though, if it's maximum, I don't bring myself to

fist again and again. The max pain lasts 30 minuites at the longest.

Now it's sure the painkiller doesn't work well enough to lead me to
sleep. I wonder if IV I take is working, too. I think it's better than

the max pain. When I see my doctor on Friday, I have to tell him that
I need more powerful painkiller and that IV seems to be effective
a little bit. Maybe I need a more effective IV.
