Hey!!! you, NEETS, nerds, Akihabara maid-cafe frequent visitors, Youtube-link spammers, pedophilias, neo-Nazis, Yukorin enthusiasts, Gloved hitwoman manias, The Red Sox and My Dirty Smelly Sox fans, Losers who can't remember Kanji characters, Aoi Sora fans, here is the place to have a blast!!!!!
>>12 'Russian tea' is a tea served with lemon slice, isn't it? Well, it's pretty popular. For example, it's sold in refectories, cafeterias, long distance trains, etc. >>13 не так чтобы. Просто меня интересует японская культура.
>>14 Yes, it is. Some people learn about from Densha Otoko show, others from anime references. I know about 2channel because of 4chan (as >>15 said). Overall, it's one of the biggest BBS and forums in the world (if not the biggest one!).
>>18 Ммм... а тебе случаем не знаком такой IRC канал, как #ambient? >>19 Well, it's most popular way of long distance transportation, because it's cheaper than going by plane, and offers better service than bus. I travel to Voronezh (which is about 700km from Moscow) by rail sometimes. It takes about 12 hours. Moscow - Rostov trip would take about 18 hours (1500km). Moscow - Vladivostok... 1.5-2 weeks, I guess.
>>21 Uh... Before I passed entrance exams to my university again I was NEET for about a year. I understand your feelings. I wonder how it would be interesting to go through a whole country; but such trip would be hard in the same time, because of small room in sections, same companions all the time... And other thing I'm concerned about: what is other NEETs' lifestyle?
>>23 Yes, 1st year student again. Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman (BMSTU). It's really disturbing thought that I lost 3 years completely useless and had to start over again.
>>24 Ah, I feel your pain. I was in that position too, last year. At least you were able to do other things and advance yourself in other ways during that time. At least that's what I try to tell myself to make me feel better about it...
When I was fifteen year old I moved to Montana State, then because my English was sucks so bad, that I had to take sophomore again. I was so pissed off!
>>30 понятно. Я тоже вылетел. Учился в МЭИ, потом с первого курса вылетел и поступил в МГУ на ИСТОРИЧЕСКИЙ. ненавижу это место. МЭИ был намного лучше. А из какого вуза вылетел?
>>41 haha, right...its pretty exciting eh? 2 russians meet in the japanese BBS....funny. by the way, what country are you from? im from canada as you can see my name..im japanese, though.
>>16 Actually, 'Russian tea' is not tea with lemon. Tea with lemon is called 'Lemon tea.' Russian tea is tea with jam, usually strawberry jam (instead of sugar).
>>42 I'm that second russian who is going to sleep to... >>43 I never met this term before and consulted multitran.ru dictionary, which returned two meanings: tea with lemon; tea served in glass.
Got an assignment due in by midnight, but only about 3/4 of the way through. Procrastination is something I am fantastic at, which isn't good at all. Instead, I seem to be posting messages about it rather than getting it done. Oh well... 45 minutes to go.
Another eight minutes to go, but submitting it already just in case the submission form fails. Had to write a report on information problems within a business, and then read and modify a balance sheet, as well as a cash flow statement, then make recommendations based on stock and debtor turnover... for a fictional restaurant. Exciting stuff.
>>48 Thanks for the support! Fell about 300 words short of the limit, but it might still be okay, hopefully...
>>57 Yes, yes I do. It's usually a good idea to know your statistics in both imperial and metric units here, because although metric is standard, some people still use imperial.
Remember the Mars Climate Orbiter error a few years back, caused by using imperial units rather than standard scientific metric?
>>61 A 'stone' is equivalent to exactly 14 'pounds'. For example, someone who weighs 140lbs would weigh 10 stone. And yes, in Imperial weight, the plural of 'stone' is just 'stone'.
Is it ok in Russia to go on the interenet freely express their opinion?? Especially political stuff? I heard somewhere Russia was getting undemocratic. Is this true?
>>73 everyone can discuss whatever they want in russia on internet. Except you can't talk about racism against russians. One guy talked stuff like "Russians are pigs" and got arrested.
>>73 everyone can discuss whatever they want in russia on internet. Except you can't talk about racism against russians. One guy talked stuff like "Russians are pigs" and got arrested.
>>75 That's horrable. Russian people don't have the right of freedom of speech. Chinese Communist party would never allow its people to say anything against the government, though.
>>76 what so horrible about that? I heard that one guy posted on 2ch message with text like "There is a bomb" and got arrested too. it is the same level.
The news that the government has a lot to do with a murder case was broadcast here. It said a news writer was shot to death because she was against Putin.
what is really funny is that hysteria about russia is made by the same journalists from the cold war times. no wonder they want to see russia as totalitarian place.
Well, let's change the subject. There are many peoples here - Japanese, Chinese, Canadian, American, Russian, English... We'd better avoid politics here.
Japanese boobs, Chinese boobs, Canadian boobs, American boobs, Russian boobs... Even though they are from different places, one thing is for sure : All boobs are so sweet.
Did you vote for Putin in the last election? You were too young to vote? What would you do if Putin decided he would change the constitution so that he could be president forever?
>>90 Putin wont change constitution. And we already know the next president of russia. It is Medvedev. I voted for the Union of Right Forces. They got only .5% of votes :(
Ok, let me give you a sample japanese sentence where you can learn about several ways of pronunciations of the same kaji.
全力で力んで力こぶをつくる。
You might notice 力 is used 3 times in this sentence, but you can't expect it to be pronounced the same way. In fact, they are read differently, although the basic meaning of the kanji isn't different - basically it refers to "power" literally.
Concerning howto read them. 全力 : zen "ryoku" 力む : "riki" mu 力こぶ : "chikara" kobu
・・・Do you want me to continue this kind of Japanese kanji lessons?
>>93 I dont know what russians think about it, but i guess many of them like putin. Hell, I like Putin too. He is a strong leader. >>92 sure that was interesting.
>>94 So, people prefer his strong leadership over a democratic state, I guess. Nothing wrong with that. That's usually the case with a country that's still recovering from some chaos.
>>103 How nice! I wish I could eat your mom. How often do you eat piroshki? Very frequently I guess.? The first thing came to my mind when I thought about Russia was beautiful girls having beautiful sex. The second thing was Piroshki.
Sample sentence 2. Today's kanji is 動. 動 basically means "move" in English.
動物がげんきに動く (doubutsu ga genki ni ugo ku)
動物 (doubutsu) means animal. And you can easily imagine animals are moving. Directly translated into English, "doubutsu" is moving object. And 動く (ugo ku) means move. You should remember these two ways of reading the kanji, especially "dou" can creat many more Japanese idioms. Take 動力 (dou yoku) for example. I expect you to remember you learned 力 (ryoku) in the first lesson. And I said 力 meant "power". So 動力 means "power that moves something".
That's it for today. Read aloud the sentence some times and please try your best to remember how to read the kanji. Good luck.
Another russian reporting in. // I think Putin is good leader, though he's not some sort of king. At least, he prevented Russian Federation from further disunion. Under his controll Russia recovered from crazy 90s impact. But enough politics.
>>100 I heard Cheburashka (a character of story) was popular a few years ago. About piroshki... I ate one with meat during break today.
Alrighty, Russian gangstas. Just remember that your country is not a developing country anymore but IS a G8 member. And I don't know how long the excessive concentration of power will be there, but note that it could be heading for a totalitalian state, as a result. Good night, sweet dreams.
>>115 You know what? Russian small boobs mean an average size for Japanese/chinese boobs and average for Russian girls mean big for Japanese/chinese girls.
>>104 Official (like "dear sir or madam"): "Уважаемый" (if you are reffering to man) or "Уважаемая (to woman). Or Уважаемый(ая)" if you don't know who will read this letter. ("sincerely yours"): "С уважением," signature. Unoffical: "Дорогой" or "дорогая".
Lets say there are 3 billion women in this world, and we have 6 billion boobs. No wonder if I find one boob slown away on the street. I'll pick it up and take it home.
>>134 On a TV program in Japan, the following expression was introduced as being used in the UK. Is it commonly used? "It's as good as chocolate teapot."(Meaning it's as useless as teapot made of chocolate.) Thank you.
lol, I love my country's government. We're going to send the navy and air force to protect whales in the Arctic from Japanese whalers. What a load of horseshit.
A 10 year old got gang raped and the men who did it got off any jail time, but we're too busy sending the navy to protect a bunch of stupid whales that aren't even in Australia. Hopefully if Japan decides to go to war with Australia, they'll bomb the parliament house, along with every stupid animal fucker in this country.
When we have the 100th thread of this topic, we should have a big celebration. We should all bring some boobs and share in a celebratory drink of boob milk.
I'd say those topless women just turn them on, not to improve thier morales. lol Aren't they worried if they are taken photos of? Can you get a snap of hot australian booby girls?
>>169 No one is allowed to photograph topless women on the beach anymore, after some happy hard boys went a bit too far with their cameras.
So the morale of our soldiers is down again. How will we save the whales now?
Oh, and there are "voyeur" websites all over the internet. I wonder if the people at nudist beaches get suspicious when someone turns up on the beach with a bag - haha, what do they need it for?
>>173 Of course it is. Women who sunbathe topless are easy because they are stupid they'll get skin cancer just because they wanted to look good.
If you spend your whole time sunbathing topless you are a shallow person, because you spend your whole time focusing on how you look. If you just wanted to sit around and do nothing, you could do that with your clothes on.
>>152 Actually, that's the first time I've heard that expression. However, Google seems to bring up a couple tens of thousands of results, most of them being .co.uk sites... so I guess it's not really that rarely used.
>>181 Sorry, my mistake. It's not functional at all, but solid chocolate. That makes it even more useless than a hollowed-out chocolate teapot. Now those children with cancer will definitely not be getting any donations.
貝 means "shell" in English. This kanji is interesting. There are many kanjis that 貝 is used for, such as 購入 (kou nyuu), 財産 (zai san), 買う (ka u), and what not. Every kanji that I've brought up here has something to do with "money". Etymologically, 貝 means money in a way, because "shells" were used to exchange things far back in the human history. In other words, shells were money then. That's why we have a lot of kanjis that are related to money and that 貝 is used in part.
Sample sentences. 私は本を買った (watashi wa hon wo katta) : I bought a book. 彼女は本を購入した (kanojo wa hon wo kounyuu shita) : she purchased a book. 彼は財産を失った (kare wa zaisan wo ushinatta): He lost his asset.
Oh, if I could buy boobs or grow them like plants... I'd remove all bits of furniture in my house and fill it with boobs. To walk on them, to sit on them, to sleep on them, et cetera.
>>164 The seas and oceans are important to us all! We do not live in oceans, but we take much from them. Animals that live not in one spot, but travel much, we must all take care of! Fishing is only good if not too much! Fish will not come back by magic if we make them extinct! Whales are not fish, but are like fish. Please do not forget...
>>196 Yeah, but they're complaining about the japanese killing 50 humpback whales. I thought there were only a few hundred left, but there are thousands of them! My complaint is that Australia, my country, has so many internal problems, why not work on them rather than let the government and Greenpeace make complete idiots of us and cause an international incident by using the navy to protect whales? What excuse does any navy have for firing on a whaling vessel? I'm not going to be conscripted into a future war because some japanese guy shot a dumb whale.
>>193-195 Dudes, have you ever actually touched any real boobs? Your posts suck. Boobs are lovely as pillows, for titfucking and babies, but other than that they're pretty much worthless. Running through a field of boobs would suck as much as running through a field full of small bags of grain or water. You'd constantly get punched, everything from soft to hard.
>>200-202 I see the truth hurts, virgins. Virgins who never touched any boobs. Man, you guys are pathetic, acting as if you know shit when you clearly don't. Even if you ain't ever touched any boobs, that's no excuse for not using your smarts to realize what boobs are like. Boobs have wonderfully soft surfaces, but otherwise are anything from dense for the small to really heavy for the huge.
>>208 I had no idea anyone outside of the UK would know who Rachel Stevens is. I mean, S Club 7 were pretty big here (for a while, anyway), but they had quite a specific fanbase. And that was quite a while ago now.
How does their accent stop you from catching them? Does it annoy you so much that can't you can't bear to approach them? The next time you bag a Brit, just wear some earplugs.
hmm...appearently there were some interesting discussions going on while i wasnt here...politics and boobs..lollllll although i am a girl. yes, there are girls in 2ch! dont worry >>53.haha
>>214 i cant understand british accents either. i feel really depressed when i watch a british film and cant understand what they say.......
A lot of British people have trouble understanding my accent too, because being brought up by one English parent and one Canadian parent messed things up a bit, and my accent is a bizarre hybrid. Being brought up in other countries where English wasn't a main language didn't really help much, either.
Anyway, that aside, it's a shame some people can't understand real English, these days. Accents from some parts of Britain are much easier to understand than other parts, say, from central Scotland, or northern Wales.
>>217 I'll take a guess and say you're in British Columbia?
>>217 You bad girl! A cute girl like you is not supposed to be here. ^^ Anyways, may I ask..what brought you here? 2ch is not well known to overseas people, is it?
>>218 you are wrooooong!!! take another guess...lol
>>219 ooooo its nice of you saying im cute! well, im japanese actually, and i left japan about 2 and a half years ago. and i had heard about 2ch from "densha otoko". thats why im here...blame the media..lol
>>220 Having lived in Singapore for three years and being forced to understand people speaking 'Singlish' makes 'Japlish' (and other foreign English dialects) very easy to understand.
>>222 Thanks for the reply. Actually, my accents are sort of like those of americans ( I use American-English learning materials, that's why), but I can't get rid of my Japanese accents completely. I can't. But I noticed it might be a waste of time to worry about accents that much.
>>229 yea......sooooo many asians are here. if you go to toronto, you can see asians EVERYWHERE!!!!!! my town is not that bad, though, i have many chinese friends and some korean ones.
>>229 As far as I'm aware, Vancouver is the city with the highest percentage of East-Asian immigrants in Canada (which is why British Columbia was my first guess). Toronto is a bigger city, but most of the Asian population there is from Central and South-Asia. I stayed there (Toronto) for a few weeks in the summer of 2006, when I was visiting my sisters, and there were some days where I hardly saw any Western looking people. It's a really nice city.

>>231 lol yea i kinda had an idea that my name is pretty long, too.... sure, call me ringo chan!!!!! its really cute!! ......should i change my name again? lolll
it is getting pretty cold recently. its like -17degree(celsius) right now. and going to get 30cm+ of snow or something....exciting.
>>233 Belive it or not, S Club 7 has been featured in one of the English-teaching programs on NHK. If I remember correctly, the program was first aired in 2005 and there were re-runs in 2006 and 2007. As someone mentioned, I also had a problem understanding British English, so I video-taped all the S Club 7 episodes and watched many times, but sometimes very difficult to understand. How do you describe their English? Is that the way at least young British people speak?
>>236 That's good. Natural make-ups are allowed to use only for a girl with fine skin!
239 :sending messages from canada:2007/12/15(土) 09:17:39
>>237 hmm..i think i should watch S Club 7, or some other british films more frequently. i really wanna understand british accents so that i can chat with people when i travel in uk!!
>>237 Spent a while looking for for an interview just to remember what they sounded like... but that accent is quite typical of how people from South-East England speak. Quite a few people there mispronounce their 'th' as 'f' (a dialect thing, perhaps), and pronounce their 'i' sound strangely, so that might confuse things for listeners.
Yep, Ringo chan lives in a cold place so no wonder she doesn't need thick make-ups. You know what I mean? Her cheeks are naturally pink or red. Cutie!!
242 :sending messages from canada:2007/12/15(土) 09:28:25
>>240 may i ask you a question? which films would you recommend to watch, in terms of practicing to understand british accent?
243 :sending messages from canada:2007/12/15(土) 09:33:01
>>242 Monty Python!!! Language is an integral part of the nation's culture, and without knowing Monty Python, you woun't be able to understand British culture or the language.
>>240 Gee, thanks very much for checking their accents.... I'll go back to the videos again and listen their English carefully, for, as you say, there must be many people who speak like that.
>>242 Hmm... British films with understandable accents... I'm not much of an expert on British cinema (because a lot of it is terrible), but most movies by Film4 have leading actors with 'proper' English accents. If you don't mind older movies, the further back you go, the more pronounced the English seems to be. Every japanese girl I've spoken to seems to bring up Hugh Grant movies in conversation, and though I'm sick of him, his is a good accent to listen to, if you want to hear English without much of a challenge. There are the Hammer Horror movies from the 1950s and 60s, which use quite theatrical and dramatic English. As >>244 says, Monty Python is quite a well known part of our culture too, and you have a mixture of both higher-class English and more common English in their shows and movies. I'll try and list some specific movies tomorrow or something, though.
>>246 Ah, Kings of Leon, a group from Tennessee, I believe. The accent wasn't really very hard to understand, but it's a bit disarming, because you expect American-English, but it sounds (to me, at least) like it has French undertones.
>>250 Wasn't that one by Off Course in the late 70s? Bit of a contrast to one telling kids to go home...
I remember a friend of mine from texas didn't even know the band's name, while another one who is Japanese and grew up in the uk said the band was awarded there, so my momory was mingled..
>>242 "Prick Up Your Ears", "Priest", "Bent", "Oscar Wilde" just to name to a few. There are so many great movies worth a peep to experience a deep part of British culture. Don't judge, they are good films! And "The Rocky Horror Picture Show". Such a crazy party musical. This one kind of resembles this thread in some ways.
Haha, that's kind of funny. Why do you want to know that? And you could probably find a list of words spelled differently in British English pretty easily on Google.
good morning guys!!!! just note that i changed my name. i changed it because everyone calls me so. im really sorry that i change my name so much.. please dont get confused!!!! my name was 1)from canada.. 2)messages from canada now)Ringo Chan
>>244>>252>>255 thank you terribly much for giving me lots of answers! i will watch some of them during the holidays, for sure.
>>247>>248>>263 i didnt know i was such a popular girl...lol well, its now 7:30 in the morning here, so i can talk to you guys again!
>>271 Shut up, you fatass neet. I need to keep the horny hentai like you off of Ringo chan so that only I can monopolise her cheeks. Your arse stinks like a rotten apple.
>>271>>274 hey guys, why dont you just stop talking like this? i mean, this is a pretty boring conversation for the people who are not interested in who i am. dont you think so
>>278 thank you for saying that you guys love me!! its funny...no boys seem to be interested in me in actual world, but im considered as a "cheerful" and "cute" girl in the internet...
Ringo chan wears a white sweater with red apples on the chest! So cute! Did you turn a gas heater on? I think gas price is higher than usual. It's expensive now!
>>281>>282 YOU GUYS ARE REALLY FUNNY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL
my house's heater isnt a gas heater. its called..."central......"..something. i dont remember what its called!! we also use a wood stove. gas heater is way too small for houses in cananda.
>>292 -20C?? How can you stay alive in that condition? Don't go out today, ok? Your cheeks will be ruined in two seconds outside. What's your major, if you don't mind me asking?
>>293 well, as you pointed out, it is a little chilly. just a little, though! so your town is about +10degrees? sounds really warm....! where do you live? japan??
>>295 Yep, in Japan. To be a little more exact, yesterday it's +12~13 degrees celcius in the afternoon. So -20 sounds umbelievable cold to me. Let yourself make a hot apple tea, Ringo chan.
>>294 hahaha, im just used to it. thanks for caring about me so much! well, im in a high school now, so we dont have "major" and that stuff. but i mostly take art courses. im in gr.12 now, so i can take whatever i want except for english, and science and/or co-op!!
Is it only me? But I have a problem. The page I was forwarded to says 人大杉. No way is it happening in a board like this! I don't think so many people post here.
>>297 You bad girl, Ringo chan! high school girls aren't supposed to wear make-ups! Jst kiding. lol I thought you were over 20. You're far younger than I expected.
Let's invent a time machine, go several years forward and I want to see what's in store for us, Ringo chan. I'm sure we'll be sitting next to each other, smiling and laughing. lol
Keep in mind that the reason we'll laugh together years forward is because we share a lot from now on, ok?
>>303 wow, it sounds like you're multi-talented. You should make a new genre of performance, like an acting painter who can sing and play the piano simultaneously. You would make a revolution to the scene.
Do you watch J-dramas or variety shows on the internet, Ringo chan? It might be a stereotype, but it's likely to happen that Japanese people living abroad know more about Japanese stuff than those in Japan. lol
I wish we had snow and stuff. The first and last time I saw snow this year was last Saturday, while sitting in a café. It was raining, then it turned to snow for about ten minutes, then rain again. There's still time...
>>308 Not so sweet. lol I just wanted to convey what I had in mind. We're not so serious yet, but hope you don't take it as just a joke, since a bright future is waiting for us.. *blush*
Hehehe, you don't watch J-shows? Yay, that means I have a good oppotunity to use to amuse you with crazy Japanese stuff. lol You probably don't even know about HG and Kojima Yoshio. Crazy & funny guys.
>>313 It is possible in Siberia. The good thing is that the weather is mostly windless. But if you don't wear a hat, your ears will become red and big after you go to warm room.
>>313 is that right?! wow...what an amazing country russia is...! i think your ears will get hypothermia and useless if you dont wear a hat!!!
>>316 ooo...im under arrest now..lol thank you very much for posting the video clip! i watched it, and he was...weird.lollll "sonnano kankei nee! sonnano kankei nee!! hi, oppappee!!!" the song just remains in my ear!!!!hahaha
>>318 Actually, he's a pretty smart guy that graduated from Waseda University. and quite different from other ippatsu geinin for sure, though no one knows how much longer his media exposure will last.
I'm not sure if I want to be one of the inmates who get too intimate with each other in prison...
>>321>>313 omg this spanish weirdo is so funny!!!!!!!! lmao!!!!
>>322 seriously? waseda university?!wow..... i like smart comedians(like Hikaru Ohta of Bakushomondai) because they are usually funny.(well, Ryo Fukawa is not so funny though..lol)
>>261 Wow, i can't believe I posted and then forgot. Yes, there's "fag," which means "cigarette" in British English, and is a mean name for "gay man" in American. Also, please don't say "spotted dick" if you're in America.
There are some that are somewhat confusing. For example, British and American English have a difference between the words "cookie" and "biscuit."
What Americans call "gas (gasoline)" British call "petrol." An American "pick-up truck" is a British "lorry."
>>327 Even though 'spotted dick' is a dessert in the UK, you'll still get a few sniggers ("snickers" if you're American - apparently it sounds too much like a racist remark) if you ask for it. It's pretty disgusting anyway.
Petrol is a derivative of 'petroleum'; when we (in the UK) say 'gas', we mean it in terms of gaseous fuel, such as the natural gas used on stoves.
Hello, all! It's soon Christmas, and Lucia day was two days ago :-3 Yes, Lucia as in Saint Lucia (Saint "Lucy"), the Italian saint. Pretty gruesome and violent tale, really. The light aspect to that saint is quite appealing to us up here in the cold north... And so every 13th december she brings light to us in the darkness.
Please come to my blog by searching "onanie_show2000". Most of my erocital novels are written in Japanese, but I am translating them into English little by little.
ex-boyfriend the other day. He has asked someone's help and advice, like me... Because he is really worried about his job these days. Such as he's thinking of going to quit his job and so on. To tell the truth, I broke up with him about 5 months ago. He's 5 years yonger than me. He graduated from university in Nagoya, and decided to start new job in Osaka last spring. After few months later, he got transferd to Nara. He was really busy from then on. (He is still busy now) He couldn't take a day off,and had to work overtime. So it was so hard to keep relations between him and me at that time. But we still keep in touch by e-mail once in a while.
I wish I could help his matter. But I couldn't advice to him easily... I hope to it turns out well!
I'm sorry for writing my poor English diary. Thank you for reading.
>>352 Flirting? Ahaha... Wishful thinking? I'm missing my significant other too much to flirt. I'm glad I'll at least get to visit during at new years eve. Tip: Never get into a long-distance relationship if you can help it. :-/
>>354-355 Don't you mean German? Or do you mean German History? Geography? Culture? I need to continue studying German :-/ Stopped doing that for too long, and now I barely remember.
>>k-tan o, are you in a long-distance relationship?
ya, ontario is next to manitoba. sorry, i mixed up time-difference of japan and GMT!!!!!argh... okay..i searched in wikipedia! GMT in ontario is -5! im pretty sure this time! lol
>>361 The weather here today is.... Gray. And cool. :-/ A friend of mine wound up in a long-distance relationship with a bloke in England, after a month or two he moved in with her here in Sweden o_o;; I'm not sure if I should call her lucky or if that was too soon.
>>362 Yep, Sweden -> England/Germany My s.o. is German, but studies in London. And it's okay, I mixed up something as basic as plus and minus signs. Mmmm, dementia... Nah. Though I reckon some coffee or tea would do me good.
>>365-366 really?...ive never been in a long-distance realtionship, because i know i cant stand it....hmm.. i suppose you are really strong(mentally) woman.
>>363 I hope they're still getting along well, since that's quite dedicated! Was considering moving overseas for the last one, until... anyway, ignorance can be bliss, but other times it can just be naïveté.
Grey and cool... that could be here too! It's the first time in a few weeks that the temperature has actually dropped to below freezing, though.
>>364 I'm so sorry! Please don't kill me! One thing I don't miss about living in Ontario are the ice storms...
>>368 Well, I've been told it's a bit problematic, as he's unemployed so far, and him not contributing to the rent, as well as always being at home ( = no time for her to herself), is starting to get to her. They get along fine otherwise. They've got pretty similar values in most aspects. Ice storms? Ouch. I'm glad I've never experienced anything like that.
>>367 Wise choice. I wouldn't really call myself strong. I'm just the type of person who wouldn't be in a relationship otherwise. Being in a relationship just for the sake of being with anyone is too much of a hassle for me, so I get involved with people because there already is something there, rather than that I think something could develop. And since I don't limit that to IRL, I wind up with LDRs sometimes. :-/ Which I put up with only because since it generally takes a lot for me to consider having a serious relationship with someone. Even though I've made a few bad judgment calls in the past.
>>370 It's good to see there are other people who feel a relationship is something meaningful, and not something to share with just anyone. And, of course, it's only human to make mistakes sometimes, but at least we have the capacity to learn from them. Most of the time, anyway.
>>368 haha, thats ok! dont worry i wouldnt kill you!!! ooooo ive never had an icestorm yet...i hope i will get non.. what i hate here is strong winds in the winter, and freezing rain!!!!
>>369 i dont undertand what they are saying, but i absolutely love their video!! those are very interesting and funny.
>>373 Heh. ^-^ They tend to mix English with German a lot. But yeah, I'm glad I understand what they say :-D Stuff like that is one of the few times I actually get some use for the languages I've studied, even though I barely know them anymore. French, for instance. Would be pretty sad to not get Eddie Izzard's multilingual rants. :-D
>>372 Ahaha... I wish I could remermber where I could find that Japanese fanimutation of Moskau... This would be a good place to ask someone what some of it means. Tyskarna från Lund isn't really German, though. They just sing partially in German. ^-^ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyskarna_fr%C3%A5n_Lund
>>375 How many pages you should write? Good luck, Ringo chan!<3
Your cheeks today are safe?
Yep, Asada Mao was in the 6th position before performing today's free program. Her score was about 191 points, but too bad, she couldn't win the championship. Kim Yuna (from S.K.), the defending champion, won again.
I know you are too busy finishing up the homework to care how much thought I give to you, Ringo chan, but I'm the kind of person who's patient and waits for you to come.
So take care of yourself and have a sip of apple tea so that you feel warm inside~~
Probably, how to keep your cheeks healthy and make them slight red/pink? Or more seriously, about illegal immigrants? That topic may be too sensitive, though.
>>378>>380>>381 about 2-3, or more. thank you so much for wishing me a good luck! sorry that i cant reply you guys fast enough... its snowing outside today, but its warm inside!!! my cheeks are fine.haha
>>382 the essay is a comprison essay of a novel "the brave new world" and a film "gattaca". i also have to read "nineteen eighty-four", and answer the comprehension questions...
id love to continue talking with you guys, but ive got too much things to do today. sorry. i think i will be able to be back on wednesday or so. talk to you later!!!!!! love!
>>383 Thanks, and ah, that's the one, I think. ^-^
>>385 Oh, interesting. I loved the movie Gattaca, still haven't read Brave New World though -_-;; 1984's pretty interesting, and a bit more focused than the soviet book that inspired it, We. Just my opinion, though. I should re-read both at some point. Would you mind sharing the essay with us after you've submitted it? Good luck though... A day is usually too little time for me, I like to put away written essays for a few days and then have a look at it with fresh eyes.
According to a credible yet unconfirmed source, he has been finally sent to Siberia by his enraged rich father, due to his repeated failure to pass the exam last week. Supposedly, he is now retaking a basic Japanese course in detention facilities there w/o internet or J-anime.
>>426 What about natural boobs. Your followers should worship big boobs but natural ones. I'm fed up with silicon enhanced boobs. So maybe it's a good idea to traget teenagers' boobs who can't afford cosmetic surgery.
Worshipping natural boobs make the world better place cause world nowadays are full of fake and bogus things. Natural is the key. So lets go to high school with shotguns and gather girls with big boobs in the gym, taking them as hostages nad let's chant "Natural boobs rule the world!"
So when is the X day? I need to get a ticket to USA. Do I need to get my haircut before I go to US? I want to look good on CNN when they the air school hostage case.
Sorry did I say NOVA? I meant GEOS, urm ECC, ahh AEON, what the hell, who am I kidding? I just want to learn some correct English and not pay more than 500 yen per lesson(ケチ日本人). Did I also mention that I also hope to be proficient after 10 lessons and then stop taking classes?
>>427 We must have dedicated scholars and holy men to research boobs first. It would be terrible if we planned an attack, and lay siege to a high school with nary a natural big boob in sight.
>>428 This board is better than NOVA ever was at teaching English. At least the people here (apart from the Russian) are not here just for picking up girls.
>>429 Maybe you've got a point there. What about making a cult that's always thinking about what cult you should make, then? I'd call it Indesicive Cult.
This thread is dedicated to Adolf Hitler, whose glorious cause still lives in the hearts of millions. We are everywhere. The followers of the Reich, we'll never surrender! Heil Hitler forever!
>>434 Sorry, I know there's another hard-working Russian here. When we say the Russian in context of being a japanese girl-chaser, we know it's rosiajin. Unless you want to marry a japanese girl too?
From the IMF World Economic Outlook ( www.econstats.com/weo/V016.htm ) for percentage changes in GDP per capita, at current prices between 1996 and 2006. A basket of 15 developed countries/mature economies (European, North American, and Antipodean) have all grown by an average of around 57 percent. Even the laggard, Germany, grew by nearly 23 percent. Japan, meanwhile, shrank by 1.47 percent. Since Japan's neighbors, China and South Korea, have grown by 131.9 percent and 51.3 percent respectively, Japan's future as the leader of Asia is in jeopardy.
help i need somebody help not just anybody help you know i need someone help when i was younger so much younger than today i never needed anybody's help in any way
What's stuffed in boobs of girls? Hope? Peace? Comfort? NO! It's full of greed and/or avaris inside that also makes males greedy. Girls want to make their boobs as huge as they can do, while boys want to knead huge boobs if possible. That's what we call greedy. Boobs are the epitome of ugly greed.
>>447 Boobs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Breast_anatomy_normal_scheme.png Fat and glands. Larger boobs usually contains mostly fat and a little glands, but sometimes more glands. That usually depends on genes. Smaller breasts usually contain a smaller percentage of fat and higher percentage of glands. The point of boobs is mainly to produce milk for babies. In some cultures female chests are culturally as asexual as male chests, and other areas are seen as more sexual. For instance in some cultures you can show your boobs as much as you want, nobody will care, however if you wear pants it will cause an outrage because that'd outline the crotch, as opposed to a long, bulky skirt. Another fun fact, in the medieval ages in Europe a woman's ankles were seen as sexual and arousing. If I recall correctly a woman's neck is seen as very erotic in Japan, no? But yes.. You probably want to get more acquaintanced with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxytocin#Actions_of_oxytocin_within_the_brain
>>449 Since after summer: Depression and worries, mainly. My boyfriend is having problems.
>>450 I think I might have mentioned my bra size like 50 or more thread parts ago. Doesn't really matter, though. I'm not gonna mail my boobs off to you. I've grown rather fond of them you see. You should have asked me ten or seven years ago. I would have been far more keen on parting with them, or at least most of them. Now I think I'll just keep them as they are.
>>454 I beg your pardon? Where have I spoken ill of any size boobs?
>>456 Don't think, feel. No reasoning. Big boobs are good. That's all. You try to ascribe BIG boob's allure to acquired habit like education, culture, brain washing. It doesn't depends on the conditions like the time of age, place, etc. Big boob's allure is natural, inborn, instinctive and (real) God's decision.
you guys were talking about boobs while i was away..again!! lol i want to know how to make boobs bigger..........*tears*
>>388 yea Gattaca is such a great movie...i would like to read the novel version! Brave New World was really good, but i didnt really like the ending.. im not gonna tell you why, though! well, i hoped i could finish my essay in one day, but it was impossible for me......hmm..but im pretty sure i can finish it by tomorrow!! !!
>>389 wow!!!!!!!!!!! i didnt even notice...hahahaha!
>>460 I'm not 455 but let me tell you what I know about it. It's a browser made specifically to browse 2ch. There are several types of them and you can download them free of charge.
I don't use none of them but as far as I know, they give you far more comfortable 2ch browsing experience than Internet Explore or other browsers. That's the benefit 2channelers can get from them.
On a technical note, 2ch browsers help reduce traffic problem of 2ch servers. To many access to 2ch servers from common browsers are the cause of traffic problems but if you access to 2ch servers from a 2ch browser, that works in favor of traffic problem. That's server friendly as far as I know.
>>465 Hmm... Sorry. I don't know exactly. As I said, I haven't used none of 2ch browsers.
I thought 2ch browsers are not plugins or add-ons or anything like that. I thought they are the ones made from scratch and work as a browser, not doing just supplementary jobs like plug-ins or addons. I'm not a tech savvy in the least so I don't know how diffcult it is to make a browser from scratch. If it's extremely difficult, then 2ch browsers are just plug-ins.
But as long as they call themselves 2ch browsers, then they mught be browsers themselves not plug-ins. (By the way, senyo means exclusive use or solo use. So senyo-browser means a browser used for a solo use which is to browse 2ch.)
I heard there are skillful an talented people in some programing or PC related boards in 2ch. So it might not too difficult for them to make browsers. Actually most prevailing p to p file sharing software in Japan called Winny was made by a 2channeler. He made it on his own being given feedbacks from other 2channelers in a programing realted board in 2ch.
I can't help but being amazed that 4channelers made the 4chan plugin for Firefox. Firefox allows every possible expanded features to be added to it. Amazed both by 4channelers and Firefox.
>>463&>>467 What're you two talking about? How should they talk offline by the way? First of all, they are living in completely different contries respectively, as far as I know.
And not that I know much about K-tan like how long she was away from here or how long you people had contacts with her, anyways, I don't think there's any problem whether Ringo chan and K-tan are friends or not.
Ringo chan is a school girl. No question about it. Personally, I wished she was over 20, though. lol But that's become already no problem for me. She is spunky and cheerful so I like her a lot. No one is allowed to stand in our way. I hereby declare that I'll protect her cheeks no matter what. Probably she's my would-be partner... I hope...I wish...
Beware, 2chers. You're fooled into believing K-tan and Ringo chan actually live somewhere in this world. But you are wrong. I suspect they don't exist. They are auto-posters that respond to your comments automatically by some computer program.
You guys are mixed up. One is talking about a girl whose handle name was a school girl, the other is talking about a girl (Ringo chan) who seems to go to school.
>>497 You put celf photos on here insisting it's yours. Tell me the truth. Those are not your photos but the ones you found on the net, right? If you insist those were self shooting photo, then shoot yuorself again with your toungue stick out or with your eyes looking at the ceiling. If you acceptone of these requests and put your photo again here, I believe those were yours.
Our teacher of medieval times gave us a list of 21 books that we have to read for the checkup it is madness. each one of that books is about 300-500pages. 21x400 = 8400 pages. in other words we have to read about 8000 pages. madness.
If those photos were yours then you are really ugly. lol You boasted how attractive you are but you are a total lier. You looked like a boy who become a target of bullying. Maybe you've never seen yourself reflected in a mirror. If you think you are attractive, then go to mental clinic.
Because the internets have no women. Simply I believe that you are a lonley otaku looking to become som kind of internet idol. Most likely your plan would work too, because that are always 1000 angry virgins on 2-ch who would follow you to death.
Because you are a lonly otaku, who wants to become an internet idol. It'd probably work too, because there are always 1000 angry internet virgins on 2-ch who will defend anything they believe has a vagina.
Do you know what was cool in Soviet Union? Diplomatic service was cool. Everyone have to live boring soviet life and diplomats lived abroad in western countries and in asian countries. That is similar to the situation today in North Korea. Everyone is living in totalitarian society except diplomats. They live abroad.
イギリス人, You were born as canadian and brought up in an environment spoken in American English, weren't you? Were you speaking american English rather than British english?
Why did you end up living in the UK and get to identify youself as English?
Washington DC (20 December) - A delegation representing the Lakota Indians, who live in five Midwestern US states, has declared independence. The delegation delivered a message to the US State Department earlier this week, announcing that they were unilaterally withdrawing from treaties signed with the US government.
The Native Americans say the treaties have been repeatedly violated by the US government "in order to steal our culture, our land and our ability to maintain our way of life". The delegation also visited the embassies of Bolivia, Chile, South Africa and Venezuela and will travel overseas in the months to come.
Around half of the territory claimed by the Lakota is in the state of South Dakota. Representatives of the self-proclaimed new country say they plan to issue their own passports and driving licenses.
Oh, sorry. you sympathized with america. You have much more territory which once belonged to mongoloid.
and russians are even hated by many white people. contries around baitic sea don't like russia. even west slavic people prefer germany to russia. ] Ukranian want to be the part of the west. interesting.
http://asaomiwa.com/asao9.jpg She doesn't have deep set eyes, i think. she is a beach volley player. she is very popular here. she gets many media attentions for her looks rather than her skill.
>>535 I was born dual-national, as my parents were different nationalities to each other. You're right though - the school I attended in Ethiopia was an American school, but the schools in Singapore and Germany were British. However, the English I used (in writing) was almost exclusively British English.
Ended up living in the UK because my father didn't really get along with his family in Canada, and my mother's family are all here. As for identity... nationalitywise, I still don't really fit in. When talking to someone new, they always assume I'm a foreigner because of my accent.
>>551 Considered it... but remembering all the stress my family went through while moving and living in dangerous areas put me off. The pay was good, but the rewards are not worth it. I'd rather just travel for my own leisure, rather than be sent places.
IF you try, can you pretend to be a real american?
I don't know how easy or difficult it is for native speakers to imitate another English. It's not easy for even japanese to perfectly imitate the accents of dialect in japanese though.
but most of the diplomats in russia come from the very prestigious school MGIMO - moscow state institute of international relations. It is impossible to get accepted into it because all the places are for those who paid a bribe.
>>553 If you really want to be a diplomat, do you have to go to ox-bridge? Are there any people with the ability of passing ox brige who rather chose to another universites like london universities, kicking oxbridge?
The world-best cheek award is going to be held on the eve of Christmas.
We are going to decide who's the best poster of this year in this board at the end of this year - MVP award 2007 of the English board.
So we'd really appreciat it if you listed up candidates and cast a vote for your favorite poster (or you can apply for the award on your own, of course) You should be qualified for it on condition that 1) you've regularly come post here 2) you've entertained many of us and 3) you are sort of known to us (you don't have to be so big here, though)
The one that gets awarded is allowed to use "MVP2007" to introduce you to people on this board - great honor!
Make sure that candidates (applicants) will be listed by no later than 23. Great honor, grand respect and MVP tagname - those are what you'll get after you win the MVP award! Come join the final festival of this year!
I vote for イギリス人. I don't think he's an entertainer, but to my knowledge, he seems to make it a rule to come and see what's talked about here, and his knowledge on English as a native speaker sometimes helped enlighten people here, i think. That's why I think he deserves mvp award. That is to say, we should give a light on a serious-kind of person like him, well, sometimes, maybe.
Ahhh... just trying to work out Jane Style. It's useful just to be able to load it up and go straight to the thread. Also I've been having a few problems accessing the board due to server load... so the comment by >>464 was really helpful.
>>552 My accent has almost always been the weird mix it is today, but it can become more pronounced either way depending if the person I am talking to also has some kind of British or American accent. My main problem is with the word "tomato" (which I have never said before, because I'm really not sure how I'm supposed to pronounce it). And my bloodline isn't exactly 100% English... two of my father's grandparents were Scottish. Other than that, though... yes.
>>555 I guess so. I'm quite good at 'faking' accents, though I try not to in daily life. Some native speakers are good at imitation and forming words, but others aren't. I think Hugh Laurie (in the show House) fakes his accent pretty good, but it's best to ask a real American about that one.
>>558 Though quite a few people from Oxbridge do get into politics, there are a lot who went to other universities. If you work hard enough or have ties to people in the profession, it helps too.
And now I have to go check on my cooking... the water should be starting to boil right now.
>>567 Are you cooking at this hour? Your time seems to be upside down for a person living in UK! btw, how would you order something with Tomato-sauce at a restaurant? Do you say, 'I want pasta with the red thing on?' or something to avoid pronoucing tomato? In Japan, we pronounce it as to-ma-to, similar to the British way, not as to-mei-to, like most Americans say.
>>467 haha, no. k-tan and i are in two different countries, and i dont know her contact address! 2ch, or any bbs is a great way to talk with peple who you have never known. i love it so much!
>>470 wow, you have such a wonderful imagination! lollll
>>479-481, 483 good work, man!!!!!! haha, i received your love. thanks..lol
>>567 what have you cooked? ohh im jealous that you can fake your accents!!!! i hate having a japanese accent when i talk to my friends... please, someone tell me how to reduce an accent!
>>571 What brought you to Canada? Does that have something to do with your father's business? Your English sounds natural to a person like me who is studying Englihs in Japan. I can't believe just two years or so in Canada have made you reach the fluency. Probably you had been able to speak English before you started living in Canada?
>>567 So, Jane was a browser itself or a plug-in? I'm >>464 >>471's photo gives me an impression that it's a browser.
>>567 And you are adventurous to think you installed a software written in Japanese. I am kind of scared to install a software which is written in other language than Japanese.
>>568 Been cooking later than usual lately because the kitchen has been under construction. I still need to paint it, but it can at least be used now. As for that dilemma you mention, I'd simply ask for 'ketchup'. A lot of people still say 'tomato sauce', though, but a lot also use 'ketchup'. If I need to buy tomatoes from the grocer at the market, I just say "some of those please" and point at them.
>>571 It wasn't so exciting, I'm sorry to say, but just steak and mushroom pie, mashed potato, some vegetables (green beans and broccoli) and gravy. Typical English food, really. I cheat, though, and buy the pies from the local butcher and just put them in the oven. Handy on those days when I don't have much time to cook.
As for accents... just keep practicing. Learn where other people's tongues go when they voice certain letters and do the same. Of course, not everyone can do everything right with their tongue. This is why I still can't roll my 'r' properly.
>>590 As long as the application serves its purpose, I'll use it. Sometimes I use Share or Winny to download episodes of shows from Japanese TV. A few years ago, I played Bomberman Online (until I was banned for being a foreigner... oh well). Jane Style is a nice piece of software, but it seems to give me errors when I try and actually post with it...
Anyway... 'patrick' should get the award for Most Valuable Paedophile on this board.
British accents aren't accepted in Japan. You can't be understood with your accents. So I advise you to americanize your accents, and then you have a slightly better chance to get understood. Again, British accents are NEVER EVER acceptable.
>>559 I'm not sure how many good posters are/were here benefiting "Chat in English" cuz I wasn't here for the past several months up until a few weeks ago, but I think rosiajin ◆Iu8PB2Noto and イギリス人 are both qualified for MVP. Seems like some people have the same idea...
Are there good ones before I came back? Was SLIM SHADY famous to you guys?
>>596 米人, a housewife whose posts are interesting to read was here but I haven't seen here lately. Maybe she was in therapies to cure her addicted internet habit. lol
>>624 I meant, you change topics quite often before they are finished. I expected you to return a comment about your finals, but you didn't. So I was a little bit surprised. I lost my train of thought just a little while. lol
well, in case you haven't noticed... /b/ seems to block Japanese people from using it. I'm not sure.. At leaset, all i saw on my browser was the "4CHAN.ORG" banner.
>>630 Don't worry, you're not missing much. That section of the board involves a lot of people posting stupid pictures and shouting abuse at each other.
The people in the other sections are creepy in their own ways, especially the gun-zealot Americans in Guns/Weapons, stalkers in TV/Film and psychopaths in Paranormal.
Also that image is the kind of girl rosiajin is wanting to go to Japan to marry.
I know the female translator in the thread on translation into English in person. She is a flasher. When she walks in the street all in buff, her crotch is so wet that her juice drips onto the ground.
You and your obvious question. Chinese and Japanese are two different languages. All we can do is just guess from the kanjis that're used in common. Even though Japan, S. korea, China, taiwan use kanjis, they are not always used the same way. And Chinese grammar is more closer to English than to Japanese. So I don't think I can understand fully C.Newspaper.
>>642 South korea and North korea abandoned kanji (chinese character) practically. Most of them can read and write few of them. There are even people who can't write their own name by kanji.
http://www.chosun.com/ I can't find any kanji by skimming through. It's more easy to find alphabet than to find kanji. I finally found three kanjis, 日本語, 中文, and 朝鮮日報. 日本語 and 中文 are intended for people with foreigh language skill and 朝鮮日報 litterally is kanji of chosen nippo(the name of the newspaper). The word 朝鮮日報 on the net seems to be the trademark. They don't use kanji unless it has special meaning.
>>642-643 Korea's Hangul may look a bit daunting to us Westerners at first, as most of us assume it's just a sort of Kanji system, but with characters that look different (straight lines and circles). Once it's realised that they are not symbols at all, but clusters of sounds, it makes it a lot easier to read.
>>645 And as Japanese and Korean are gramatically really close and lots of their vocabulary are based on kanjis, both people can learn each language far easier if they start to learn it. I for one isn't motivated to learn the Korean language, so I don't speak Korean, though. But why do you know so much? Are you learning Korean? Come to think of it, you have never mentioned you are intrigued to learning Japanese.:P
>>646 Ahh... Korean is something I've picked up along the way and only know a little of. I can read words, but my vocabulary is very limited so they are mainly just sounds with no meaning to me.
As for Japanese, I mentioned it many threads ago, I think. In my spare time, I'm learning Japanese and Russian (Japanese mainly because of my childhood, and Russian because of recent developments). There's nowhere nearby to actually learn languages other than French, Spanish, German and Italian, so have to use books to teach myself... 2ch is good practice, especially when visiting the music and TV boards
>>647 Do you know 2ch has Karaoke board where people recod their songs and upload them to get some feedback?
There's a Yogaku thread there, too. Yogaku is music from western world. (It doesn't mean the category of Country and Western music although it's included in Western music category.)
Maybe you can upload your own karaoke there. But mind you they tend to give you harsh comments.
His US accent was so convincing that the executive producer, Bryan Singer, who was unaware at the time that Laurie is English, pointed to him as an example of just the kind of compelling American actor he had been looking for
American professional admits it.
How about Charlize Theron? I want to ask all english native speakers. Her English sound perfect american english to me. I can't catch and understand most of what she says, but the atmosphere and accents is really american. Her first language is not English like Hugh Laurie. She portraits the role of complex personality that even americans get daunted to act. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9WgJCP43jw&feature=related
So I think Charlize Theron is very talented and exceptional.
There is an example in the opposite direction, too. Actress Renee Zellweger, who played a British woman in the movie "Bridget Jone's Diary" is actually a Texan. But as co-star Hugh Grant admits in the DVD, no one realized that she was from Texas until they finished filming and she revealed it. I'm very intereted to hear イギリス人's view on her English. Do you thik she sounds British?
But T'm intereested to hear his take. He is pretty much the british go to guy in this thread. He has time and time again topped our expectations. He will do the same this time as always, I'm sure.
>>655 It's fine... I only really use a handle to show I'm a native speaker, so learners of English can see how native speakers may write. If anyone happens to have any questions, that's fine by me too.
>>651-652 That's the one. Before House, Hugh Laurie was mainly a comedy actor, in shows such as Blackadder, Fry & Laurie, and Jeeves and Wooster. Even we were surprised when we saw him in House.
Hmm... Charlize Theron. She seems to have naturally developed an American- type accent so I'm not sure how much of it is false. It's true that Afrikaans is her first language, though. Perhaps she afflicts an American accent in normal conversation to help her get jobs and have people understand her better. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J0KwkriPiW0
As for Renée Zellweger, I think her accent in Bridget Jones' Diary is pretty good. It's very received and stereotypical, but that fits in with Hugh Grant and Colin Firth also in the movie. Both her parents are European, but I doubt that has anything to do with anything...
>>650 I had no idea! This may be very interesting... however, as my mother and grandparents all had terrible singing voices, it's made me afraid to try since I'm probably bad too. I'll certainly take a look though, thanks!
>652 >>656 Thank you very much for your view on Renee Zellweger's English. Her British accents were easy for Japanese to understand. I wish every British people spoke like her, lol
>>659 No way Jose, we don't have room for another hairy Brit with some collection habit. This one might start and keep talking about his hippie sunglasses collection for days and fill the entire thread. On top of that, he looks like a pervert.
There have been a lot of overseas celebrities acting silly on Japanses TV commercials for money, because they could never foresee the emergence of Youtube. But not that it's available, their silly deeds are advertised all over the world. Poor guys, LOL
school is overrrrrrr!!!!!! im sooo happy even though ive got a lot of assignments!! lol
>>589 i came to canada because i wanted to speak english more, and experience other cultures. my mark for english was pretty good in japan. its really helpful if you want to live/study in the countries where english is spoken, because english education in japan puts accent on spelling and grammer. i know tons of students from other countries, and some of them struggle with their poor spelling and grammer. listening, pronunciation and vocablaries would be fine after living in those english-speaking country for few years.(you need to study hard, though!) i dont have any japanese friends in canada, and it helped me to improve my english so quickly...i havent spoken much japanese here.
>>655 Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, you were here!lol I didn't fresh my browser so i didn't notice you were already back, Ringo chan!<3 Don't think I'm a retard. lol
>>665 Almost none of Japanese junior high school students go abroad to study. In almost all cases, it's after entering high school that they study abroad.
If you went to Canada, during mandatory education, which is during junior high school, then you are just spoiled kid, asking your parents to allow you pursue your celfish dream.
To experience other cultures? Give me a break. You are just spoiled.
>>665 I heard the news that 5 graders in Japan would be forced/made to take English class in a few years. But I'm not sure one hour or two in a week helps learn English, though..
>>671 Oh, she is 18. Then she is OK. But If she really wants to experience various cultures, then she should have gone to US. US has far more cultural varieties, ranging from hispanic culture, African American, Asian, Europian to native American cultures.
Students who choose Canada are just chickens, insisting America is too dangerous, referring to guns and drugs.
Don't veil how chicken you are. While you are to be on the safe side, you insist on experience different cultures. That's hypocrasy.
>>669 i didnt come to canada during junior high school. i decided to come here in grade 3 of junior high, then came here in the summer i was supposed to be in grade 1 of high school. until then, i was studying english. actually, im not that spoiled. i study really hard here that im pretty sure i can get a scolarship, if i go to university in canada. but if you want to think that im a spoiled fuck-head kid, go ahead. i have nothing more to say. i apologize for using a bad word.
>>670 sereously? wow, thats pretty early to learn english, i guess...
>>673 oh, sorry!!! i didnt see your reply there!!!!!!! im terribly sorry for my reply(674). ah...yes. i actually came to canada because i thought it was safer than US. you are right, i might be a chicken. but i wouldnt risk my life for learning other cultures yet. when i earn money enough by my self and be independent from my parents, i would love to go to other countries.
>>673 Excuse me? I think you're barking at the wrong tree.. Ringo chan said she doesn't have Japanese friends there and I don't think just living in America makes you understand those varieties of cultures unlike your assertion. Consider. I know a half american half Japanese person living in america, and he said asian people, african american, or whatever, don't get together. Ethnicity groups exist. You don't understand the reality.
Compared to that, Ringo chan is friends with people from many contries. So why do you stick to America? Because you are blinded. Stop worshiping America. That's madness.
>>675 What made you come to 2ch's English board, especially to Chat in English thread in the first place? You have lots of opportunity to talk to native English speakers so I don't see any points in chatting here. You just miss Japan or you have any specific reasons to come to 2ch all the way from Canada? You had been a 2channeler before you go to Canada?
But you should stop talking to her like that. It's like an interrogation. I'd feel overwhelmed if I had to deal with a guy like you. You're like a claimant. Just be friendly. That's what you need.
>>677 I don't worship America but when you look at academic achievments by US institutions, US is the place to go, not Canada. I know US is divided into ethnic groups but at least you can see more cultural diversities in US than Canada.
>>681 Everything goes here in 2ch. 2ch is like Wild Wild West, almost no rules, laws and morals. That's what 2ch is about in my understanding. All I have to be careful about here is not to go too extremes and not to end up in jail. Basically, preaching morals or justice means nothing in my humble opinion.
>>678 haha, yea i have been a 2 channeler since i was in japan. influenced by densha otoko, and my brother who is otaku. i had just found the english board and this thread this month, and thought it would be interesting to chat with other 2 channelers in english!
>>679 what? ministers said that?? isnt that exciting....lol well,,, im not sure about ufo and aliens and stuff..ive never seen one.
>>684 Haha, let me fill you in on what's happened here in Japan. In a recent report, the Japanese government publicly denied there's any UFO flying around in the sky. But the spoke man of the government said he personally believed there is. And several other ministers mentioned thier opinions.
>>685 lollllllllll the spokes man is amazing!!!!!! what a cute guy. well, theres no problem believing ufo personally. japan is becoming very interesting country, huh?lol
UFO is just an unidentified flying object so UFO does exsit It can be natural phenomenon like plazma. But whether it is operated by aliens is diffrent story.
>>686 Let me add something to >>685 Actually, they brought it up to draw public attention off ongoing negative topics such as the pension issue to help keep the cabinet's popularity, but it didn't really help. Today's newspaper says only 31% support Fukuda cabinet according to a poll. Personally, I believe in UFOs but definitely they have other things to take care of.
>>688 Aliens exist somewhere in the galaxy I think, but I think they never flawn to the earth yet. All things that were supposed to be flying things aliens operate are natural phenomenon.
>>715 Sorry. But at least they're adorable little birds one would like to see in one's garden in the winter? I'm sure google image search can make you happier and take your mind off the wee birds.
And more tits: http://images.google.com/images?q=Parus+caeruleus Adorable little birds. One actually landed on our balcony once. Well... According to my sister we've been visited by those more than just once. But still, pretty cool, considering that I live on the 8th floor. ^-^
>>718 Go girl, that's a good pick! It sounds exciting that tits get delivered to the 8th floor. Are you trying to mess with my mind? Anyways, birds have fluffy breasts, so you are still on the boob topic. And I like birds too.
>>719 Ahaha, no, I'm not trying to mess with your mind. I'm trying to sneak in a topic that's more on my mind at this moment. It's midnight and I'm feebly trying to reorganize a part of my room because I feel like it, even though I'm tired and sleepy. So I wind up thinking of cute things. I can talk about boobs too though, if you'd rather that. I wouldn't be too much fun, though. I tend to think that whether a body part is attractive or not depends too much on what's done with it, the context it exists in.
>>720 Well, you could talk about how to decorate boobs, if you'd like. Or how to show them. Some girls have boob massage done to theirs to keep up the shape and firmness. What do you think about it?
>>721 Decorating? Ribbons are always fun. I could go on and on about decoration, clothes in combination with body language imply different contexts, after all.
I don't know if massage helps boobs stay firm, but I've heard that it's important that one regularly massages one's breast properly to reduce risk for cancer. Wearing bras all day long = worse circulation in those tissue areas = increased risk for cancer, or something. I'm pretty bad at remembering to do that. I should regularly do that though, especially as I tend to wear too small bras. I probably should start checking for cancer too -_- http://youtube.com/watch?v=h7nHml2mgaA Self examination. http://youtube.com/watch?v=f6jgDk4apog Tissue massage.
Though I'm more likely to die of stroke or heart attack, I guess, judging from my mother's side of the family. And from my dad there's a huge likelihood I'll develop diabetes -_-;; It runs in his family.
By the way, women aren't the only ones who can suffer from breast cancer. Ordinary men can too, there are just not as many male sufferers as female.
>>662 My hats have not been talked about for quite a while now. Not even a mention of my newest one: a black fedora with a leather band. And for all you know, I might look like a pervert too.
>>719 Ah, so you're a fan of tits. Since moving here, I've seen great tits, blue tits and coal tits in my garden. The blackbirds are very bold and do not fly away even if you approach them from half a metre away. Oh, and we get hordes of sparrows. My personal favourites are starlings, but they're becoming less common these days, unfortunately. They feed on the larvae of craneflies, so they can't be bad.
>>721 Oh dear, that post quickly derailed to more sombre topics... Sorry about that. So... Decorating boobs: Anything goes as long as it's a good composition, that's alluring and engaging. Though of course the most important bit is what kinks the viewer has. Someone who enjoys seeing tight latex costumes will be far more bored with some frilly loose fabrics draped over the boobs, even though that person might agree on that it looks pretty. Or that person may think it looks too cluttered. So, it's important to know the tastes of whomever it's intended for. Although most of the time it's as important if not more that the one wearing it all agrees on and feels that it indeed is attractive, otherwise the body language will be different. This may or may not be desirable, too. A lot of disclaimers, I know, but I can elaborate on what I mean in the different cases, if you want me to.
>>723 I don't know if I've ever seen any starlings in real life. I haven't seen any sparrows for ages... My own fault though, haven't been looking properly, nor walking near the places I know are frequented by them. I can't remember the last time I saw any blackbirds, though that was less than a year ago. Pigeons though, I last saw some hours ago >=( The blasted things insist on trying to settle in on our balcony. If you have any idea how to scare them off properly for a bit longer than a few hours at a time, I'd be grateful to hear it.
>>725 Oh no, pigeons! Rats with wings. My neighbours insist on throwing bread onto their roof, which attracts lots of pigeons. The only method I've seen to repel pigeons is to attach nails or something to prevent them from landing on their usual perch. It looks pretty horrible though, and wish there was a more aesthetic method. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/7b/Common_starling_in_london.jpg These are the starlings I'm used to, though the darker ones with sparkling specks on their chest are prettier.
>attach nails or something to prevent them from landing on their >usual perch. We've already tried this, and came to the conclusion that we'd have to cover every inch of our balcony (floor, ledges etc) to make them stop via that method. Not really feasible, alas. We're trying with a fake owl, right now. But it doesn't seem those city pigeons know what an owl is. Either that or they're smart enough to realize that if something doesn't move for ten minutes, it's probably not a threat. I saw that starling image earlier, pretty ^-^
>>724 Ribbons on boobs would make my day! Just because of this season, I would like to see some Santa Claus theme to it. Since language has its limit, I would greatly appreciate if you can upload some examples on you. So I can see how it works? You make a lot of sense and I'm just intellectually fascinated with your opinion. That's the only reason. Seriously. Will you?
>>726 That is a really cool bird. I wonder if we have them in Japan.
>>733 Wb, though it's "nice to meet you" to me. lol When were you active on the threads? If it was within this year, I think you should apply for the MVP award, given that you are well known to other people.
I wonder why America is 米. It goes without saying that America is a country where its people love to eat humbergers. I don't have an image that they eat rice. And only chance they eat rice is when they go to Japanese resraunts that serve sushi. And do you know American people invented Californian Roll? Japanese people would've never thought of using abogados as ingredient for sushi.
>>735 But mexicans also eat rice too, don't they? So fring rice with something must be popular? We usually eat cooked white rice directly , but sometimes we fry it with another ingredients. it's called yakimeshi or chahan(chinese recipe)
Don't speak ill of pegeons. They are the symbol of peace. Plus, if they were extinct, then some magicians would lose their jobs. Could you take care of their socila wefare? If so, I'd allow you to kill all pegeons. Wait, what would be the new symbol of peace. OK. I'd be the one. You guys shall worship me as the symbol of peace.
You guys overseas must be in Christmas mode already and I think you have far less time to come here during the holidays. Some must be looking forward to gifts from your parents or friends.
But I have to remind you that SLIM SHADY is even in Santa and Rudoluf the reindeer.
There used to be a boy's group "take that" in UK. Who is the main vocalist doing now? The man with short hair with great build. I'm not talking about Robie Williams.
>>749 Right now, I have family over for Christmas. It's a nightmare. My aunt and mother always get drunk, and it's impossible to be around them without becoming annoyed. My uncle is deaf, but he's a definite train otaku, and converted his attic into one huge electric train set, has train paintings hanging all around his house, and travels miles just to note down the numbers of certain trains.
>>751 Take That have recently reformed (though without Robbie Williams) and released a song called 'Rule the World', written specifically for the end credits of the 'Stardust' movie. I'm not really a Take That fan, but the main vocalist is Gary Barlow. He had a failed solo career, but it seems that Take That are touring again so he has a job for now. The song reached number 2 in the UK, but number 1 in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. http://youtube.com/watch?v=KII1ruAfvsg
>>759 Boy, you have a very intersting family! And I think your habit of collecting hats takes after your Densh-Otoko uncle, lol. btw, do you and your uncle speak with sigh language, i.e. can you manage sigh language yourself? Or does he read lips? I've heard that different country uses different sign language, but I know the sign language for English, the five fingers stand for vowels, such as the thumb stands for 'a', the index finger stands for 'e' and so on. That's about all I know about English sign language.....
>>759 When I hear "rule the world", it reminds me of the masterpiece of the 80's, rule the world by Tears for Fears. How do you think about them? http://youtube.com/watch?v=FOA4ixV-3jU I like their former pessimistic loser style. But they changed dramatically after the realse of the third album. They get more positive and open. I think they were very conscious of Beatles. It's not my taste. Not bad, But diametically different group.
>>759 Take That seems to be regarded special among boy bands like five, backstreet boys, new kids on the block, and so on... Why? Their vocal is professional compared to another boy bands? I think "how deep is your love" is good. But it's not their song. Can they have ability of composing their music?
Boy bands are a derivative of black culture, New Edition. A producer think it must be a big hit to do New Edithion by "WHITES" http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/060915/164935__new_kids_l.jpg Are they really white? They look spic to me except one or two. LOL And even johhny's look better. LOL
>>765 Robbie Williams' looks is Less than ordinary. Look at his funny round nose! Than's called 'Dango-ppana' in Japan, and it's a major source of inferiority complex and a lot of people do the cosmetic surgery to shape it.
>>773>>774 Those have nothing to do with black music, but genuinely 80's gay music. Perhaps, that's the only black music the aristocrat could appreciate though.
No Michael is a genius too. He is a music genius as well as an entertainer. Prince is also traitor. cos He falsified his blood. His mother is not white. But he said white. He thought white blood would somehow higher his mysterious image.
Michale has been too commercialized. That's true. BUt if you listen to his music at its value, You'll be wrong. You are too swayed by the image from a music magazine like rocking on.
>>779 Kool and the gang made lots of great tunes back in the 60's and 70's, which are real funk music. But they were unexceptionally sucked into the mainstream industry as they sold well. Sadly enough.
I dont know whether they sing or so but in singing songs in particular event or so ,to me, I scarcely think of meaning of songs. it may be only to me,however possibly southern hemisphere people can think it,too
>>759 Thank you very much for the link and info. That's him I was talking about. He looks aged now but he looks still cute and sweet. (I'm not うほっ by the way. hehe) Back then he was the type I didn't feel jealous of about his popularity among girls, because he had everything I thought a popular guy should have, from my point of view, that is. Actually, I wanted to be like him. I don't know about his character so my opinion is limited to his looks.
When I heard one of Take That member became solo, I thought Gary Barlow was him but that was not him but Robbie Williams. Good to know Take That has reformed. I checked Gary's website and it explains his career. After it explains some of his achievements and success in music industry, it says " nod bad for a lad from Frodsham" What does that mean? Does it meant Frodsham is small town and you can't imagine a celebrity is from the town?
>>805 No. I've seen it. At least the words "A very Merry Christmas!!" is on the picture. So it depends on the taste of the people whether it feels gross or happy. I feel......?
Hello from Finland! I heard NHK is doing some christmas special from here and I would like to know if there's a webcast of it. Sorry, didn't know anywhere else to post this.
>>811 Checked NHK's website and found out that they don't do webcast of it. They don't do video webcast basically all they do is streaming of some of "radio" programs NHK air overseas.
Jesus Christ is an impostor ! The Real Messiah in Japan "Hiroyuki Ehara"!
・He can see the aura. ・He can talk with the protection soul and see the previous existence. ・He can talk with the people in heaven. ・He can contrall out-of-body experience. ・He enjoys looking at the earth from space. ・With his parents' soul, he goes back and forth between the life and the afterlife many times. ・He has the ability of clairvoyance. ・He has the ability of healing. ・He has the ability of psychometry. ・He can talk with animals.
I think イギリス人 deserves it. He is the most constant and frequent poster throughout the year. He is kind and his posts have been very advisive and meaningful. Rosiajin is a new comer and his posts are just many and have no depth.
>>817 >throughout the year Arh, ok. But we'll see what the result will be at the end of this year. How many votes has he got so far? 4 or 5? It is about time for us to count total votes cast so far.
イギリス人 and Rosiajin may be on the top of the list, i guess. Is K-tan in the third postion?
I want to reccomend 米人 next to イギリス人. K-tan is the third in my opinion. And don't forget スコットランド人 and Ether. スコットランド人's leftiest and yet nationalisticc view was interesting. lol
As long as I can remember, there were rundgulf?, keira, and ....
I'm going to take TOEIC next January. This is my first try in the past 5 years. There's one thing I need to know. Writng down on the questions' papers is not allowed doesn't it?
>>824 I don't remember because I took it only once when I was in high school. Unfortunately I think the score was very low. Now, I'm in university and I only have 2nd grade of Eiken. That's why I need another one that will be as useful as possible for my job applications next year. Probably, it's too late...but I'll do my best.
>>828 Search for Yulia Nova on Google. She's from Russia. You should be proud that the girl has the most wonderful and the biggest boobs in this crazy world. You'll suffocate to die if you put your face in between hers.
>>833 uhaha. I've seen her. Boob size is competitive. But she is ugly and her proportion is not good and don't match with her boob size. That's the limit of japanese.
イギリス人 would be really choosy about shape, touch and odor in addition to size, but he is going to pretend he is not interested in boobs, because it is not of a gentleman to talk about it. He should know girls usually think that is actually a sign of muttsuri sukebe.
I didn't know there's a girl with P cupped boobs. Incredable... Concerning boob sizes, Fuko kicked out Yulia Nova... Impressive.. Japanese boobs are great.
>>851 It's impossible! He can't talk about anything he likes! Nothing can stop him! And girls are, deep down, interested in hearing what boys talk about, at the top of the list is the topic about boobs, of course. If he's really an idol, he should let his fans know what type of boobs he likes. lol
http://fouko.livedoor.biz/huko3.jpg Wait untill she take off her bra! Also look at fat around her belly! She have to lose weight before matching against yulia. Big boobs with skinny body are real big boobs! If people are allowed to gain fat as much as they like, asasyoryu would be permitted to be included in kyonyuu! LOL
>>856 To tell the truth, I also think she's not my type.. But don't judge the book by its cover. No one knows if she's nasty or vulgar. There's a chance... She may be a gentle girl...
>>868 I don't know who the kizu guy is, but do you think he's her bf? Or are they only in a buisness term? Yulia is mesmerising. I want to see her do it. lol
>>871 Only on a business term, I think. Yulia was elected by audition through pictures. Kizu is professional but it's obvious he was fascinated by her looks. With Camere he must be having virtual sex with yulia.
Yulia is only shot by kizu is true and somehow she keeps away from nasty pron indstry As far as i known yulia seems quite different from other stars from west. russia is not west but not asia eitehr. seems yulia has good quality of russian girls though i am not exactry sure what that is
>>874 i guess many male photographers dig targets with camera.
By the way, when I say I can't disagree with you more, will it be an emphasis of "i can't disagree with you (I agree with you)" or emphasis of "I disagree with you"?
I see. It is old (1994) Super Famicon game with lovely music. You should check it. Btw I failed my french test but re-examination is tomorrow :)) I hope I will not fail it again... lol
This boob party is also raising the possibility that Ringo chan might hesitate to post. It's about time to cool off or to naturally shift to a topic of aethtetics or something. How gentle I am!
>>899 I have to agree that this girl is more appealing to my eyes than YN is. I prefer style over boobs, which is what I realized today. I still love boobs, though.
>>905 You know what, maybe it's just that I saw way too many boobs tonight. I need to be boob free for the next few days so that I can get back the right sense of judgement on boobs, I mean, girls.
I believe the only way to get rid of conflicts between contries is to teach people that those conflicts might kill girls with beautiful and huge boobs and that boobs should be protected no matter what happens. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us and the world will be one.
Crazy, still, it is moving.. Death of one girl means loss of two boobs... Seriously, I hope boobs will be safe: in other words, I hope the world will be a safer place for anybody.
This Canadian music channel "MuchMoreMusic" is having a viewer's choice Top 50 countdown of the Top 50 songs from the 80's on Boxing Day, and when I saw Rick Astley on the ballot, I got a big idea.
>>920 You have the spirit of 2channelers. I heard 2channelers voted for Masashi Tashiro to be awarded Time magazine's the man of the year. That year he was arrested for 盗撮, in which he tried to take a video of girl's panty under her skirt at the station and image of a girl while she was taking a bath at home. http://ieiri.jp/img/mashi.jpg
I feel nostaligic about Rick Astley. I wonder why you know of him, considering your age. He sure has good voice. ♪ together forever〜♪ the gap his sweet voice and his not so attractive face was shocking.
>>923 Different from America, Chiristmas is not the time for family gathering and reunion. it's time for lovers spending romantic time. So if you don't have bf or gf, then you feel really empty and lonely. I'm the one who feel that way. Oh, for us, Chiristmas Eve is considered romantic night for lovers but Christmas day 25th is not considered that way. It's just the day whose morning is special for kids who found their present from Santa beside their pillows.
Japanese parents, Ooops, I mean, Santa puts a present besides kid's pillow or near futon or bed, not under Christams tree as your parents, I mean Santa in US do.
>>923 Merry Christmas! What are you reflecting upon? In Japan, on Dec.31, monks ring a big bell (or rather hit with a big swinging wooden bat) at each temple to ward off 108 worldly spirits, so on the New Year, people feel refreshed without having to reflect upon themselves, lol
>>933 it is obligatory to take second language in my University. We dont study japanese only english and french I study japanese on my own, but in 2008 I will be attending japanese classes
I might judge Final Fantasy W and X are best on this series. I felt like that The music on W is extremely gorgeous when I see them first. X have also good sound tracks. The appeal of X have its game system are mostly epoch-making job change system. I replay them again recently. However except this series I would used to play are boring stuffs.
They don't even have the right to be racist. They are not real anglo-saxon. Actually Irish and the descendants of criminals, the bottom of the barrel in Britain. They belive how kind and generous they white people are ... But They are a bunch of people who are at the bottom.
What I or we can do to put all racisms in the world away? I don't want to be discriminated. They also don't want to be dicriminated,do they? From my childhood, I've been taught not to do to others what I don't want to be done. Isn't this similar to them racist? What our abilitys inferior to these of them? What differs between them and us? What does different color make?
Their holding non anglo-saxon in scorn must be eradicate. Or someday they might be discriminated by people in earth on the terms of their act.
official bjl guide sounds all right to me but you should ask native speakers
but bj-league official guide book sounds definitely funny least should be a guidebook a guide book means a book for travel info while guidebooks could mean factual info
This is my first time to write and read this thread. This is very nice thread because everyone can practice using English. I have no confidence in oneself to write English. Reading this thread, I thought I must study harder and harder... If my English is wrong , excuse me...
>>990 Thak you for your welcome. I'm happy to read that.
>Some people here are from overseas, ranging from British, >American, Scotish to Russian. Oh, they are. I love knowing other cultures very much. So, I am looking forward to chat with them. To tell the truth, I am what is called Gogaku-ota(語学ヲタ). But I'm not good at speaking English.
>You can learn a lot from them. Enjoy the ride. I want to become a good English speaker (writer?) and enjoy chat.
