PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve current density necessary in a low electric field, in a self-luminous flat display device using carbon nano-tubes.
SOLUTION: A sharpened and uniformed electron emission point is formed by dividing a carbon nano-tube bundle into one-line or two-line carbon nano-tubes by irradiating the carbon nano-tube bundle with ions.
