he is a gentleman enough so he woudln't force me or anything. so that is not a problem here. I just feel sad because I can't talk as same as before after I actually met him in person. Maybe I think too much? we used to have fun time talking on net before I don't know much about each other.
>>898 I think " The Force " in Star Wars is based on the Eastern idea of "Ki" which is a symbol that usually means an atmosphere. Also "Ki"is referred as a power you sense when you concentrate to have spiritual awereness. The power is often used as somewhat psychokinetik power in many of Japanese comic like "The Force" in Star Wars movies.
Thanks for the well wishes everyone! I've been having fun today. n_n
No, I wouldn't wear my Yukata, I think that would be too strange. People here aren't used to seeing a yukata. xD Plus, even though they are nice and thin, it was still super hot today, so I'd probably want to die of heat if I wore it.
Regarding sibling names: My Grandma is 4 years older than her brother, so when he was born, she called him "baby brother" instead of "little brother" And to this day, she still calls him her baby-brother, even though they are both in their 60's! xD I think that it's extra endearing to call a younger sibling your "baby" sibling, but it also might be embarassing for the younger sibling. lol
Igirisu-jin, that is a fantastic hat collection! Very snazzy! I was thinking about starting to wear hats more often, but they don't look that great on me. Do you think that the type of hat you can wear depends on your facial build?
At least, when looked at from the above, westerners head-shape is oval, whereas asians head-shape is round, therefore, the oval-shaped hats made to suit westerners heads don't fit our (asians) heads, and it's true, lol
>>928 Keira, is Yukata very hot? when it is very hot, I wear one T-shirt only.
that's cute that your grandma loves her bro all the time and treats him as a baby.
I see many ppl wear caps or hats to cover up their hair. but I think if you like the hat, you'd be looked good reagardless your size of head or facial build...^^;
>>941 Oh, yes, many times, and this spring as well. You don't need to go into the full-scale woods, suburban areas with some nature/trees will saffice.
>>941 What's really cute about them is that in the very beginning of spring of the year, they are not used to saying the whole phrase properly, so they stop half-way and the sound is rather weak because they are not confident, but as the time goes by, with their practicing, they eventually become able to say the entire phrase with confiednce! Kind of touching!
>>943 nice! usually they sing in the early monining it's nice to hear birds songs...yeah hopefully many birds start to sing a song around my place (T_T)
lol conchs ホラガイare interesting too! spiral shell... unlike other gastropods which crawl, couchs move by jumping and are carnivorous. I just read the article here ^^;
>>953 In Japan, conch-shells are associated with warrior/mountain priests from old time. They used to blow on a conch-shell horns to announce e.g. start of a war.
>>959 The sausage thing maybe another urban legend, but I've heard that a coulple of times, and everytime I hear it, I start to feel like eating one, lol
>>928 Thanks! As for your question though, I do agree with you; I think it all depends on finding the type of hat to go with the facial build, though hairstyle probably fits into it too. A lot of people also don't really take into account hat sizes, so if they buy a hat which is too big or too small, then it'll look strange anyway. It's just really a case of trial and error.
>>929 Hmm... I've seen quite a lot of Asian people who do suit hats though. As with everyone however, it depends on which type of hat they choose. I find that, say, Nakai Masahiro from SMAP (I don't particularly like SMAP, but do watch Utaban usually) suits all sorts of hats.
>>936 The elephant question is a really hard one... usually people make a strange trumpeting sound with their mouth, which can't really be translated into letters. Kind of this this (a random clip found on Youtube)! ttp://youtube.com/watch?v=van_7WgAPDM
Also, dogs here are said to either go "bowwow", as you said, or "woof".
>>937 As you say, birds go "chirp, chirp", apparently.
