Think about it, what reason would have to live without >>1? >>1 gives you a place to connect, discuss, socialize, and focus your thoughts. You naysayers should repent for your actions.
>>44 Umm... I've been used to using keyboards for a decade now. If that explains anything. Though I used to type quicker, but then I fell out of practice as I ceased to hang out in speedy chatrooms, and no longer needed to be able to type long responses in a jiffy.
>>48 I'm not sure... I'm guessing Microsoft Word, as well as OpenOffice.org, and that Sun office program thing.. Forgot its name, sorry. No Idea what people who aren't on Windows use. Otherwise for some very basic word processing Wordpad can suffice, or if you don't need any formatting Notepad or any of the other simple text editors will suffice. I tend to use Notepad and Textpad a lot, and OOo if I need to format text.
>>56 probably you are right. I think I'm not sulky or gloomy... I thik I am always cheerful talk about nothing...? this part, I'm not sure. Maybe I may talk some meaningless things in front of boys...^^;
>>54 Oh, that's happened to me tons of time. Well, not quite asking, but having feelings for someone who didn't feel the same way about me. I usually didn't ask people out if I had feelings for them (merely just tried to get over them), though it's happened twice, or thrice if you count my current boyfriend... But I didn't really ask him, it more of happened naturally as both of us liked each other too much and kept being too mushy about each other, missing each other's company. That was fun x3 Ah, the memories... However I was thinking of my previous relationship. It's much better to feel unrequited love for someone if you do know that nothing will come of it, and that you just need to try to get over it, rather than what it's like to be in a relationship with someone who keeps playing mindgames with you, and pretty much just uses you, not really loving you at all. But then again the situation was complicated, back then.
But even we know that we love each other, we are not always 100% sure about your partner's feeling. Yesterday, you were confident in his love towards you, but today, you don't know. Maybe he likes you but the quality of love has changed a little from a week ago. I'm always unsettled. How about you?
>>49 I see. Notepad or Wordpad less likely suffice when I'm composing a document in Japanese because Japanese is basically written vertically and I want to write in that fashion while editing.
>>59 Oh yeah, I understand what you mean. I am ....umm...talkative but at the same time, I like to listen to some interesting stories. I am a good listener, I guess. But yeah, I'll try not to talk too much.
>>57 From what you said, I assume that you get too nervous on front of him, so you becomes over cheerful in order to get attention from him. I understand why you act like that. When you notice he talks to girls, you might want him back. You are frastrated to see him talking to girls who said to you they like the boy you like.
But be reasonable. You don't want to be a funny girl. Boys think you are funny, but not want to date with you. So listen to boys and talk about what's asked for.
>>60 I'm lucky, I don't have to worry about how my boyfriend feels about me :-D He's shown and proven how much he cares for me at countless occasions, without even trying. So that is nice.
>>61 Ah, I see. Sorry for not being able to suggest any good editors.
>>66 umm...you sound as if you know my life...lol well...yeah, people think I am funny but more like a friend not as a girl friend type, maybe. But it's hard not to be funny... more I feel shy, more I act like a comedian...lol
>>66 and also..umm...the one I like is a play boy. So what you said was right! (Amazing!). But it is hard for me not to worry about his behavior towards girls.
This is what step I think you should take next. You should imply you like him, I mean, send unspoken messages that you like him, but not too much. Sometimes you should talk to other boys in front of him cheerfully, not funnily. You know what I mean? But remember, you should take a quick look at him while you are talking to other boys.
And the more important is, you should take care of girls around you.
>>75 OK I understand. What do you mean by "I should take care of girls around me"? You mean my friends in my life? well...I already take care of them....
>>71 You stupid girl! When he notice you like him though he hasn't care about you, he will take advantage of you. What I mean is, he loves to get as many girls as possible just to boast about it to his fellow boys.
>>76 Difficult to explain in English, but I mean to say girls often have a feeling that you shouldn't pay attention too much to boys when you are appealing to boys, even when you send what I call an unsoken message, you know.
So talking only to males or pretending you are a really nice girl just in front of males, means you are really disgusting to the girls.
>>82 ohhh...that's what you meant... nono haha...I don't do that at all. I am always good to girls. I'm not good at it. I mean...umm...I'm not kind of a person who can flirt to boys easily. As you pointed out, I am more like a funny girl, not a sexy girl. lol so more like a girl for girls.
But I guess you wouldn't change your attitude just because you are in front of boys; funny girl...
So I think you need to learn how to behave in fron of males. The reason why I suggest you take care of girls is because some girls cannot talk to males without being annoying to girls around them.
>>85 oh I see. OK. umm...about my funny side? umm...well I'll try not to be funny in front of them. yeah....that's better, right? being annoying to girls around them. haha...ok I got it.
you must read dazai. those that do not read dazai do not understand how the japanese suffer. to be japanese is to always suffer, but never show it. after dazai there are many suicidal japanese writers for you like mishima and kawabata.
>>92 I'm far too well of many different ways one can suffer. I don't see how one has to read his book to be able to grasp why/how many Japanese people suffer.
>>97 I don't really do it nowadays. Though if I do, it's usually by bittorrent. My boyfriend tends to send me music sometimes (he buys a lot of songs from iTunes), and sometimes some of my other friends send me music too, though in mp3 instead (being either stuff they downloaded, or stuff they ripped from their CDs)
>>100 Umm? Should I take that as a sign of that you aren't too familiar with many of the cultural/etc elements in Japan, or that you do not see why not in spite of them?
>>103 Ah. I don't really know how to approach the subject, as I don't know what you know and what you do not know, and I'm too tired to try to guess where would be a good start. Could you state you main reasons for why they should be able to? :-/
>>104 Ahh. Do you have any particular mp3 blogs you recommend? A lot of the music I've downloaded in my days was random. I like hearing new things.
Hm. I definitely am off to bed now. See you all later.
>>100 That has a lot to do with the way Japanese preople communicate: sublety. In order to keep confrontation or misleading to a minimum in conversation, people tend to comfort to a less emotional way, or even avoid mentioning the point. Instead, we prefer being suggesting, hinting or implying the point you would want to make. It sometimes leaves the real meaning or intention unclear, of course. Maybe it's a side product of the culture of "harmony". Also, there is an aspect of the judgement that keeps people from being open to each other. You can be easily judgemental by applying morals, mannerism and common sense to a statement. In a way, society in Japan is pretty tight, compared to where you are from. Not that it's necessarily bad, though.
>>huh? you just said we are hormonious. Your comment was understandable and had a relevant remark.^^we don't have a training to debate as much as westerners from childhood (or outside Japan, Asian esp Cninese people are really good at debate).
>>113 That's ok. We all know you didn't address anybody. Have a nice day or good evening. opps in my coffee, OMG! there are a lot of ants... again...it's like endless...
I'm wondering what you think of it? I can't imagine how someone can have the will to stay alive after that kind of ordeal. We are meant to believe that humans are better than wild animals, but wild animals would never do this to each other.
突入 My life is so dull. I teach English in an inner-city school in the South, and 95% of my students are black. Many of them want to learn Japanese though, and I think I'll teach them.
Other than that, you can buy marijuana everywhere and buying a house is SO CHEAP!
They're just interested. Especially since they live in an environment with only two races. Young students are always interested in learning something unusual. Even my principal has promised to attend my Japanese class.
>>130 >>129 Funny. I am a 30 year old white guy who married a beautiful woman from Teramachi-cho. (Guess!) Anyway, I loved the Japanese language and its use of symbols instead of alphabet, and naturally after graduating from college I decided to go to Japan. Unfortunately, the first place I went was Tanabe City in Wakayama prefecture.やくざだらけ。
>>107 >BTW...All guys want is your stuff!! pfft. That statement is as flawed as: "All women want is money" or "All [nationality/ethnicity] want is [stereotype attribute]" :-p I'm not too certain exactly what you mean by "stuff", I'm assuming sex, as that's one of the most stereotype statements. There's a lot more to humans than using others for sex, however unfortunately the ones that mainly do that do give the others a bad name. Especially at your age (I'm guessing you're a teenager) what a lot of people have on their mind is sex, hormones, puberty and all. People tend to get less impulse driven a few years after ceasing to be a teenager, if they aren't already like that.
>>108 Heh, why would you be embarassed? _If_ I wouldn't find the music too interesting, it wouldn't reflect on you as a person nor your tastes in any way, you know. Though I doubt I'd actually dislike the music. I enjoy a very wide variety of music (which usually confuses people, as they can't completely dismiss my taste in music as "bad", as I usually like what they like too, only a lot more, including things they think "sucks")
>>127 I've stated my age on several occasions, however that was a while ago. I'm 22.
>>128 Well, my boyfriend got smitten with Fukuoka during his stay there. So he pretty much definitely wants to move there for I don't know how long, once he's completed his education. I don't mind moving there, it seems like a very nice place indeed. Though I will miss my beloved city and country a lot =( Ah well.
>>130 That would be a pretty short and dull manga ;-) "And so yet another female gaijin came to pester the natives at 2ch. She didn't leave for quite a while. Eventually, people gave up and stopped trying to get rid of her. The end."
>>136 I don't think so. Your manga (or rather the manga about you) would incite great feelings of moe... 'k-tan Adventure Manga: The Girl Who Love Japan' (<---- That's the title.)
Chapter 1
k-tan is sitting near her ac enjoying the cool air, she is smiling in harmony. When suddenly a knock, "Ohh! Who can that be. Let me put on my slippers and answer the door." She opens the door slowly and suspiciously. "Ahh dilvery man san! Hello!!" He says, "Hello maam, we have a package for you." k-tan smiles and thanks him. "What kind be in this package? Ahh! A book about the temple Daitoku ji!!!" She examines the pictures. "This is the best book ever."
This chapter (and every chapter ^^;;) if drawn cutely, with SD and various sound effects making use of Japanese onomatopoeias and mimetic words, will be super-moe.
k-tan is buried in her books. She is scribbling with her pencil, and flipping pages. She is completely oblivious to her surrounding, untill she puts her pencil down to take a sip of tea. "Hmm this tea is cold." She frowns and curses the tea. This is a rare moment of anger. So she decides to abandon her studies and makes a journey to the kitchen to make new tea. She makes tea with precision. Her movements or that of a superhero, like a speeding bullet. Or of a great kung fu master. Surely k-tan has mastered the elements of making great tea. Taking a break she wobbles over to the couch. Tea in hand. Always on a quest for new information. She turns on the news. "What is this?!??" The anchor says "We have a urgent news. NK leader Kim Jong il says if Japan does not concede to the renaming of the Sea of Japan to the East Sea of Korea he is prepared to launch an invasion on Japanese soil. Stay tuned for more." "What is this?!? Invasion of Japan?!?" Lighting bolts surround k-tan's shadow. "I will not allow this to happen!!!" k-tan suddenly transforms into Magi-cute Combat Fighter kill-tan. She flies to NK. "This must be done for human rights and justice." She says and defeats Kim Jong il, frees the people of North Korea, and ensures safety for her beloved Japan. A ceremony where UN Secretary General Kofi Annan congratules and praises a humble k-tan takes place.
YEAHHHHH!!! *huggles* whoa! you wrote a long story! That's so amusing! Thanks!
>>134 K-tan! Yeah! you are right! I meant sex. Its this guy. Not on the net. He keeps bothering me. He keeps tellinging I'm strange and strange..... And that I need to "share" with him And OMG! I wore this skirt today and he was like "oh look at her with the 'get it right now' skirt with no underwear on. and....*blush* and I just made a face at him. YUCK! Then he came and sat next to me. I had my head down on my desk. *sigh* This is ridculous. He was teasing me all the time! Grrrrrr *complaints*
Why are guys always horny? because they are teenagers? When they get older, they change? I prefer a man at least 10 years older than me. *sigh*
>>139 Hahahaha... Though I cannot deny that I find Japan quite interesting, I'm not really a Japanophile. I sort of fail to see why pictures would be the best thing about a temple, too... I'd be more interested in it's history and purpose, rather than some picture book. That said, I have to point out that images that help to clarify the text and bring it to life is very good to include.
>>140 I do not dislike cold tea, whether I feel like having some depends on the flavour of the tea, as well as my mood. "Taking a break she wobbles over to the couch." Hilarious. xD And so is the rest.
>>143>>142 I have nothing against it, as long as the character in the book does not have my name, as she isn't me, nor similar enough to my character. Apart from that, I'd love to see that manga. It sounds amusing. You just need to get a different name for the character. =) Moe-chan, perhaps? Is that good enough? 'Moe-chan Adventure Manga: The Girl Who Loved Japan' ? I'd love to draw some fan-art :-D
>>144 Umm.. I've got it set to use Mona, as recommended by the Ascii Art board at 4-ch...
>>146 Partially because of their hormones, partially because of their environment and subculture (people who have learned and know that it it's rude to behave in such manners tend to not do that)
>>143 I don't mind panty shots as long as it's equal objectification :-p If there's gonna be girly panty-shots, I demand there'll be just as much (male worn) male underwear shots as well. Otherwise, I don't mind how much of that is included.
>>146 Hi! school girl! I'm also a Japanese girl but I'm in late 20's. I love teenager boys! they are fresh, fun, cute and vivid? I wish I had a teenager boy friend. lol
AHHHH pps...sorry...lolz...I thought my previous comment would have hurt some teenager boys' feeling so...I just made another comment.... sorry about my stupid act...*hide behind the curtain*
>>161 I don't know...lolz Maybe I speak straight. Maybe that's it...(^^; I have to talk and act like a Japanese girl. That's what my mom say to me. *shifty eyes*
>>162 Hi! Kouki! do you remember me? I talked with you last night. You gave me a good advice. I think it worked a little.... Tonight I met my bf and tried to act as you suggested... he looks more gentle than before...I think.^^
>>168 well...not only he and I. There are some more friends. we are kind of in a same circle. As you pointed out I always act "funny" in front of boys when I am very shy. I tend to overreact...but this time I was kind of quiet and listened to his talk.
He smiled at me many times. But I think there would be only a few hope that he and his present girl friend break up. But I will just hung on... maybe it sounds pathetic....lol
>>169 I know her. She is also in the same circle. She used to be my friend but after she starts..you know the relation with him, I just get so jealous so I am trying to keep away from them. But sometimes I happen to see them together....I just bend the knee for them to break up soon. heheheee
>>173 lolz~~Oh yeah, I know what you mean. I'm a returnee. I live in Japan now but still not used to the custom. *blinks* so...that's the reason why I'm here...hehex
>>177 "watching over them from the shadow"..lolz...that expression is so close to the situation for me right now...*sad smile*
oh well...I think their relationship is once nearly to the end... you know...that's why I had a chance to see him sometimes before but now he goes back to her and they look happy together...which annoys me a lot....well but that's life..hahaha Don't advise me to find another boy...I am so into him so I just can't see anybody other than him. You can call me a "stalker girl". lol
>>179 >You can call me a "stalker girl". lol Well, I don't. You just have cherished the feeling so long that you become blinded. I'd call you a blinded girl, literally...
You put yourself in a tough postition. Anyway, I think I should ask this. Which do you choose between the circle you are in and the boy you like?
>>143 oh.. I forgot to link to it here earlier: h ttp://www.geocities.com/ktan2ch/manga-chan_sloppyquicksketch.PNG Though it's a really sloppy and really quick sketch. The computer mouse I have is horribly crappy too... Is it anywhere near what you had in mind? I figured her hair might as well be red like the center of Japan's flag, and if she enjoys reading that much she might as well have glasses of some sort. Don't ask me what she's barely wearing.. It's some sort of horribly sloppy robe thing...
>>182 blinded girl? umm....ok whatever you like..but not a good name.
why do I have to choose between the two?
For me I like both. But of course I want the boy. you mean if I have to get away from this circle? because of this... triangle love? it's not even a triangle...lol...he doesn't care about me so the line is just one line ....his gf →←he ←me
>>179 ...You miiight want to ask people for advice at http://4-ch.net/love/index.html They're usually very helpful, and you'll get several different opinions to base actions on. http://4-ch.net/love/subback.html for a list of all the topics there, there used to be a thread that seems rather similar to your situation there, but either it expired, or I'm merely really bad at remembering what it had as subject line...
>>187 Ah, you knew I don't actually call you like that, right?
Well, to answer your question, because you have to run a risk of losing your position in your circle: his girl is your friend. Or you should keep feeling awkward like you are.
I guess she doesn't know how much you care about him. As I said, you should take care of girls around you. Or do you think you are satisfied you just talked with him?
>>192 Oh thanks k-tan! I just visited the link! it looked great! OK I'll try next time! but if I'm not wrong, the one I saw was the consultation about the relationship with his sis..??? gross!! lol
>>195 Ignore him. That's just a troll. There are plenty other threads in there, just start a new one, stating your situation and what you wish to achive, but do not know how to, or whatever the problem is.
>>194 oh I don't know your point. I just said I like him. That's all. the girl doesn't care about me. She is just happy the way she stays with her bf. People in the circle just don't care how much I like him or not. well..even if they knew, it is just a minor thing. Even some gossip about me...I don't think they all like to talk about that topic...I don't know about the future. I just watch him like a stalker girl. I really don't know what is the best solution. I am not very active in this circle anymore so people just don't care even I disappear from this circle, I guess. *sad smile*
>>208 I see. But isn't the default colour setting a bit bright? It can be tiring to the eye. Though I have other skin for Jane like this. http://www.imgup.org/iup243015.png
>>212 Nah. My settings makes the default look just fine on my monitor, so that's good. I also have a decent, albeit not great, refresh rate (75Hz). On my monitor screen, that skin is more tiring for my eye than 2ch's default colors, as the skin is brighter, and thus gives higher contrast.
>>227 That's a good idea! it's quite hot and damp here. Swimming in a pool and looking at girls in bikini. That's wonderful. You should bring your digital camera there for shooting some pictures for me. and then upload.
also I'm afraid if people there might think I am pervert... so I don't know but I just bring my digital camera with me... but don't blame me if I can't shoot any of them...lol
>>229 I want some pictures of pretty female teenagers in bikini! You can do that! I can't do that. because my face is getting on hentai. Girls feel fear at me.
>>201 >oh I don't know your point. I just said I like him. That's all. Is that really all? Haven't you thought of going out with him? Are you satisfied with "just friends"? I suppose not. You want more than that.
From what you told me so far, you seem to think all you can do is wait for them to break up and then he will notice you are there.
Well, it sounds good waiting patiently until the chance has come. But before the time come, you should try your best to turn "his gf →←he ←me" into "his gf →←he…> ←me". You know what I mean? You should let him know you are there even now.
I asked you about which is important for you, your circle or the boy in question. You answered, the boy. So I think it might be a good idea to speak up and go ahead...one of these days.
And don't think you are a stalker girl. Because you are not. You haven't do anything extreme, I mean, you seem as if it's guilty to favor someone in your head. That makes you less attractive. Believe in yourself.
If you tell me about detales, I would be happy to share my views on this matter. Good luck, girl.
lol I might be better than you because my face won't change. But it makes my face more hentai. I may be caught by police lol In that case, it's going to be your responsibility, lol I don't know if there are many pretty teenagers up there lol I go to somekind of spa. It's a combination between a swimming pool and a hot spring. lol
>>224 Haha. You love her very much. Yeah, "a famous English actress got married to an obscure Japanese male" would make many Japanese male have hope. lol
>>239 Oh I see. So she should work harder than now and at least show her burning emotion toward him? do you think wo? but isn't it rather kimoi (disgusting)? If he is interested in her, it's good to be more positive, but if not, she should be staying humble...
>>242 Just to clarify, what I said is just an opinion, not a forced decision in the first place. Second, I didn't say "show her burning emotions". I just said implying she's in favor of him. There's a big difference between them. And also I didn't refer to "now". In fact I said, one of these days.
You said, if he is interested in her. But how can she make sure he is if he doesn't know she's there waiting for him to break up with the girl? I haven't said she should go too far, but it's not a bad idea to be confident enough. Well, I wouldn't push my opinion on her, of course. It's just an idea, as I said.
>>245 I understand what you mean. It's been very hot for the past few days.
Hi! Kouki, since you think about my problem seriously, I write something. and there is "sutehan" to show this is the same girl with last night.
I am sure he knows that I like him. Well verbally I don’t say it but my eyes are always following him and when I look at him I think there should be lots of stars sparkling in my eyes .lol
I just confess something.
It’s rather an ugly thing to write down but I had a small fight with her in the beginning. When that girl (aka A) started to see him, I got so jealous and also I knew that he was secretly saying A is dumb only she is cute but no brain...so I just warned her like this
Me: Do you know he is not serious with you? A Huh? How can you say such thing you never know how he loves me. We meet almost everyday and do you know recently our love is getting deeper and deeper? (she said more nasty way but I don’t’know how to write it in English) Me: well if you guys are really serious, then that's ok I just thought he is a play boy. A: NO! he is only my boy friend he even said he is going to get married if our relationship continues. He can’t live without me blabla Just get lost! He is my bf, Just don’t get interested in him even a bit. Just your existence makes me throwing up. Just go away! You bustard! Me: (those words stroked me)..(drop my head) ok I will never bother you anymore. Sorry So please don’t disturb me anymore. I won’t talk to you anymore...
She pretends as an innocent girl but in a reality she is so bad. She’s bitch.
But I don’t think he knows her well. Anyway, do you still think I can show my feeling in this circle where she is? When she’s around I look like a numb. Just being there as a funny girl.
Well I used to post as Gaijin, but then people aren't able to distinguish me from other gaijin. Since I love "Sugoi yo, Masaru-san", and my wife and I fell in love because we both loved the series, I thought Machahiko would be the best name. 立派な男だから。
Well, I really don't know much about girl issues, but guys won't try to actually date a dumb girl. They'll just sleep around with her for a while, and then ditch her. I wouldn't worry about the situation. 果報は寝て待って
>>270 Heh. Been there, done that. Always remember this: You are not your past, you are what you choose to make of your past. Everyone goes through bad things, what sets people apart is how they choose to react on it, and what they will do with their experiences. You can either let it drag you down into a downwards spiral, or you can learn from it, and move on. Let your experiences strengthen you, not make you weaker.
>>270 Yeah, I understand what you mean. Adolescence is not a happy period but so heartaching period.
>>260 Yeah, me too. I act funny when I am very depressed and feel like there is no way out. People think I am a genuinely comedian type who tell a lot of gags 24 hours....but I can't just face to the reality... When I am too sad or struggling, I say jokes all the time.
@[email protected]'m afraid of big black bumble bees...you know those gigantic bees? lol oh..and car crashes ><..Oh no...almost seen one today...*faint*
>>288 lolz~~ Jay Chou. a Taiwanese musician. He composes and sings. He's got an oriental face and that's so cute! He's soooo hawwt!!>.< He's been my idol since...umm...2002?? becoz he was famous in a country where I lived before...but not in Japppaaannn!!grrrrrr
>>259-260 That's a difficult question to answer clearly. It's up to you, but if he really doesn't know what happened between her and you, I mean, if she can't speak ill of you to him, my sense told me that she will be harsh on you in the circle when you start sending him love signals.
I think I know what will happen next. She will start talking about you behind the scene. That's why I've been thinking it's important to take care of other girls around you... More enemies means you feel awkward in the circle and end up going away.
Anyway, if you really like the guy and there's no other way out, then it might be wise to look what's going on for a while. My theory is based on these conditions: 1) you like him so much you think no other boys aren't right for you although he doesn't care about you so much now. 2) you and his girlfriend are like arch enemies each other.
My idea is as follows: 1) You should keep sending unspoken massages to him, implying you like him. 2) He may start to care about you. 3) Then he would talk with you in private about the relationship between him and her. 4) 3) means there's a chance he will change his mind. 5) Then it's about time you confessed your feeling toward him...
So in conclusion, the step you should take next will be... Appealing to him not when she's around and taking care of other girls to ensure they don't turn your opponents.
This is just an idea. If you don't like it, you should ignore it. Good luck.
Yeah, Your suggestion could be of help for my life in the circle.
I've been trying to contact other girls in the circle, but for some reason, nobody replies to my emails. I don't think they all belive what she said (I have no idea what she's been talking about me). But taking her personality into consideration, she might be saying very nasty things about me. But I just don't care about that. If nobody talks to me anymore, that's fine with me. When the time comes, they will know the fact.
About my crash, he is a smart guy so he'll know how terrible she is later. But re sending my unspoken messages to him, ummmm...that is difficult. But I'll try Thanks again for your advice! Kouki!<3
>>316 Heh. Actually, I have glasses (I'm nearsighted). I just make sure to adjust text on the screen to a size that's good. I'm also used to reading small print, and tend to prefer smaller print over larger print for reading text. Hm. I should get new glasses, once I can afford it. My current glasses are around half a decade old and rather scratched, though they still suffice.
>>323 Not really, it's sort of the other way around. The lower res one has, the more one needs to scroll in order to see all the text. That said, I frequently use the [Home],[End], [Page Up] and [Page Down] buttons, as well as the scroll wheel on my computer-mouse.
>>329 For scrolling? No. For numbers? As often as the line of numbers above the letters. I tend to use the Enter key there as frequently or more frequently than the Enter key at the letters.
>>331 Ahh.. I hate it when NumLock accidentally gets turned off. I only use the Numpad for numbers, and I scroll with either the scroll wheel on the mouse, the arrow buttons, or the buttons above them.
Oh, I was confused. My old keyboard didn't have [Home] [End] [Page Up] and [Page Down] buttons above the arrow keys. Those functions were allocated to the numeric keypad so I had to turn NumLock off to Page Up, Page Down, etc. My new keyboard has those keys. This is great.
>>336 A bit surprising that you are shocked, considering how annoyingly often I keep whining about of my lack of him, here ;-)
>>337 Ahhh, great indeed :-D And yeah, numpads tend to always have those keys as alternatives, even if the keyboard does have a proper set of those keys away from the numerical pad.
I'm in Tokyo, and I can't find my tripkey. Oh well.
I was surprised to see that the city really does look like 塊魂. There are an awful lot of stairs everywhere. Oh, so many stairs. Maps almost never are oriented to the North. I've spent more on drinks than on food, because it's so hot. But it's late, so I will go to bed. If you see a purple-haired gaijin around, say hi!
wow, these leaked AOL search keyword logs are scary. Just use a word-search tool to look for creepy words, and then follow everything that user searched for.

ummm...This article is interesting. There's the most successful way to instantly stop a baby from crying...
Hopefully a baby would stop crying soon. Because it really annoys us when a baby cries throughout the time when you are on the Shinkansen bullet train. Sometimes I feel like going to the seat where the baby is and then silence her tongue with my hands... just kidding lol
LOL IT men could be one of the idols fan in a decade ago...lol
And also when you look at some old days idols, like, Asada Miyoko - she's married to a musician but soon divorced. Nishimura Tomomi - married to a poor guy, I assume her income is x100 greater than her hub. lol
kamiki ryunosuke got pretty ugly. what is his strong point.his acting sense?
i suspect the most of his advantage is due to infamous talent agency . the name is Burning production. subo of the buring is the ruler in showbusiness.
lolz~~deliberate innocent face? I know some girls r like that!! *evil smile*....btw...I'm noooottt!! *spits out Kaho's head* I don't bite you I doooon't grrrrrrr
lolz~~vergin or not...that is the question...lolz~~
gah gah rwar~~~~ some girls lost it during this summer while I am in front of the computer all day long!!!>.< But in my head...lolz I am with Miyavi...so that's ok! @____@; gotta study gotta sutdy!!
Well, dictionaries say "conspiracy" or "collusion", but it seems odd to me that there would be forums for such things... So I think it must have some other meaning in this case...
>>410 Yes, 馴れ合い has those bad connatation, though, that's not all. In coloquiall usage, we use in a sense of cozy relationship between/among those whose knows each other's taste and way of acting and thinking.
I hope they'll be back sometime. That was horrible. There is always someone trying to kick someone out of this thread, even by pretending to be someone else and misleading people.. That's so not cool.
Whatever you wanna believe. Maybe it's you that kicked them out. I just stated what I thought about them and the situation, because I've been witnessing too much BS like that.
*reading from >>399* wow.....you guys were talking about me...^^;; um....I was not here until now. so it's impossible to post something in last couple hours. Thanks for being nice to me...for those who supported me. But....I think this thread is not for "kotehan" and being "bernardo" is kind of tiring for me (I'm a fun lover so getting so many cirticism is just tired. I don't want to convince them either). So maybe I'll come back from time to time. Enjoy your chat in this thread people! ^^
>>437 Yeah, haha you know I've been here only for 1.5 months. So I didn't know what this 2ch is like...but ummm...some ppl in "nareai thread" told me that it is pretty common to have troll and bashing in every thread. And also without those bushing and troll there wouldn't be an excitement...That's just how they enjoy 2ch.....so...let's just go with the flow. ^^
>>439 Yeah. I'm used to trolls and bashing, fortunately (if one can really use that word for the situation). If one manages to handle 4chan's /b/, one learns to handle most things. ^_^ I wouldn't recommend anyone visiting the place though, not unless they're able to ignore things that are really disturbing.
>>441 you don't say "many vocabularies." the word "vocabulary" is a non-count noun. do u understand, u bitch??? what u have to do is just fuck around with men. hehe just open ur legs and ur pussy. wait for the dick to come into u.
*looking around and see if 444 is still here* ^^;;
lol Yeah, it's just unbearably hot here in Japan. Have you ever been to Japan before? It's very hot in summger and the humidity level is so high. Yeah, on the other day, I went to a typical American style restaurant with my friends, and that was fun! I felt all the dishes were high calories though...lol
.............you really like to talk about that, huh? but I feel that you are a shy guy from your writing style. you only talk like that on net but in real life, you must be a quiet, low profile guy....lol
>>449 Ah, no, I haven't been to Japan yet. I've been keeping check on the temperature/humidity in Fukuoka the past month, and now in Tokyo (my boyfriend studied for a month in Fukuoka, and he's now staying in Tokyo for a total of two weeks), and it indeed looked bad... What's a typical American style restaurant like, by the way? I've never been to a such.
>>451 Well I don't know. But how do you say? big humbergers, french fries, and very very sweet dessert (really big size for us) and some 80's rock music etc. haha In Japan, even one restaurant advertise as an "American style restaurant", usually it's not. All the steaks taste soy sauce. etc...lol I remember one of my friend's parents came to Japan from U.S, they really had a hard time to find a Western style restaurant in the local area. ^^ So this time, I finally found a typical American style...I guess. lol
>>454 wow I just checked red robin. Looks great! I wanna visit there one day! but it's only in U.S. and Canada. one in Hawaii too, but not in Japan yet(;_;)
>>466 I've merely heard of it, I've never actually visited one of their restaurants. I can't hear that name without thinking of the title for the movie "I Heart Huckabees" [ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0356721/ ] though, no idea why.
>>472 He lived with a host family in Fukuoka, and he lives in a hotel in Tokyo now. He's German, but doesn't have any difficulties with Japanese dishes. He's rather fond of it, in fact. Even natto.
>>474 wow! "even natto" sounds he really adopt himself to this environment! that's great. well...I haven't seen a gaijin who could eat natto before... lol
>>477 Heh. Even I've eaten natto and not disliked it, so I wouldn't be impressed at other gaijins being able to do the same. It's not as if natto is "surströmming" or vegemite/marmite or something xD Not that I've ever tried any of those two. I've merely heard they're quite an aquired taste. Especially the "surströmming"... I wonder if I'd be able to like it, as I am horribly fond of pickled herring :-3 "Surströmming" is a few knotches worse than that, as it is fermented pickled herring. Allegedly the smell is pretty strong, and that one either hates it or loves it. No idea what it's really like, yet.
>>480 I guess I am pretty flexible. We're pretty multicultural, fortunately. My boyfriend does want to live in Japan for a considerable amount of time at some point, though. So I'll have to learn Japanese soon :-/
Hi! Kouki! I was about to head to bed...but I just stopped by,... and I found you! lol I just emailed my crush today...he gave me a reply (very short one) but I felt he sounded happy to receive a mail from me...(if I didn't take it too optimistic...lol)
>>487 lol as always you are so realistic and rigorous(?). sorry if it sounded offensive. lol Yeah, but I agree. I should not expect too much. But don't worry...I'm just happy watching him hiding behind a tree lol
Well, I don't want to let you down or anything. I don't know exactly what he is like, I mean, if he's not shrewed, then I don't want to stop you from losing no time writing back to him everytime he e-mails you, but in my view he's really strategic. Don't let yourself lose your head. He's still her boyfriend. Anyway, stick with it.
>>492 Yeah, I haven't told you what he is like... he is like the one you indicated...he is strategic. I think. Very smart and hardly ever shown his real feeling to others and sometimes he said really bad things about his bf but we never know if he really means it or not. He may pretends as if he is not very serious about her, but in reality he maybe serious. So yeah....I know I am not expecting to get him now...well he is just irresistible for me...so I just can't stop loving him...that's all...I go to bed good night everybody!
I don't want to be rude or offensive or whatever, and I know you hate to hear me saying things like this, but in my opinion, you are being carried away now and so can't look at any other guys but him. As you said, his girlfriend may be a bit nasty, but what about him? The guys in the circle don't seem to feel bitter when they see him boasting about his relationship with the girl?
miyavi is not miyabi. he is an insult to japanese. or just a joke.
shazna's izam is another case.
they are all pretty ugly without makeup. still they are mediocre with makeup though if we watch their face carefully on face value. some stargazing adolescencets got sick and want to see them as good as they wish. that's like a measel.
someday you'll come to yoursenses and fully realize how fool you were, wasting a time on such a dust.
>>496 Good morning! I have to rush off but about him boasting? Everybody there admit that he is talented, so we just take whatever he says while we surprisingly observe her behaviors. She's changed a lot after she became his gf. She seemed meek before but not anymore. Maybe some see them sarcastically but I never know. I've never talked over about them with other members. That's not a happy topic for me...that's why. lol Thanks Kouki! Have a nice day!
Well, I used to go to a small bar in Kyoto called Malibu and watch it while drinking whiskey , and she saw my personal ad in the local Kansai gaijin magazine, called me and then hung up out of embarassment. I called her number back on my keitai, talked to her and we set up a date at Kiyamachi in Kyoto. We went to Bar Africa and then a ramen-ya. She then told me "木屋町の一番おいしいラーメンは長浜ラーメンって知ってはる?” My answer was, "そですか?でもこのラーメンは一番おいしと思う" My wife then realized she had said everything in front of the tencho and I was saving her ass with my words. A year later, we married.
>>530 >>531 I love my wife, she is a Kandai Honors Graduate and quite a beautiful woman. Her family lives next door to Gosho. (御所)Pimp ass house, that is.
Actually at the time I was dating a lot of American and British girls in Japan because a lot of Japanese girls are simply too superficial. Ask a Japanese girl, "What do you like to do?" and 95% of the time they will say, "お買い物". I didn't care much for Japanese girls until I met my wife, and went to Japan to perfect my language skills and work as a translator.
>>564 then you must post your coc*.....ggggaaahhhh!!! what am I saying? what the hell am I saying???? my mom will spank my butt!!! nooooo!!!*blush* what a ero convo!!!....(but it's not that baddd...after all...lolz~~) devil girl...lolz~~
I know nothing like that. ^^;; But in my imagination I'm soooo skillful lolz~~~~(talking about kissiieeee only) lolz~~ OMG!! my mom will...gahhhh hehex.. top secret....no blame no blame just to pass the time...too hot.. aghh...that's why I'm crazzzyyyyy *blinks blinks* *go back to the innocent Schoo G* @.@ lolz~~~
>>568 脇を固める probably came from sumo wrestling. Original meaning is to protect yourself from side attack. Usually used in the sense of making sure of all the preparation so that you can react some unexpected happening.
oh no~~ all the people think I'm terrible...no!! I'm not!>,< I'm still a little girl so I don't mastur...blabla...*blush* Sorry I was so naughty today....T__T"
>>588 Actually, it's the other way around, according to statistics i've seen, i just wish i could remember the source, i'll try to find it again. Most humans masturbate, however the percentage of women that do not are higher than the guys that do not. I'll try to dig up some reasonably verifiable sources for this. Though I have no idea about what the statistics look like for female teenagers, you might be right there, as the ones i saw just divided it into females and males, regardless of age.
>>596 Well, now that he isn't at home, but is in Japan, twice or maybe thrice a week via internet. He used to call once or twice a week when he was studying in Fukuoka last month, but he no longer has the rented mobile, so that's not possible any more. My boyfriend does tell me many things about Japan, but there are plenty of other places I heard about things related to Japan, such as this board. I didn't know what nata de coco was until a kind 2ch'er explained to me what it was some while ago, for instance. I hadn't really heard about it before someone here mentioned it.
hmm... Either someone explained it to me, or I merely looked it up when someone mentioned earlier... I'm not sure of which. I often look up things I don't know anything about.
>>601 Yeah, thanks ^_^ *hugs* He's quite busy indeed, and we're quite grateful over that we do have the internet, otherwise our relationship wouldn't really have worked... Writing letters back and forth isn't the same as talking in real-time, even if just textually.
>>602 I understand what you mean! you can talk to him LIVE! and it's cheap (I mean no need to pay extra...lol). That's indeed a merit for the long-distance lovers! lol
>>605 What >>606 said. it was apparently quite a fad in the middle of the previous decade, being sold as almost miracle health food that was believed to protect he body from colon cancer; low calorie, no cholesterol, and very high in dietary fibre. It's used in desserts and drinks, amongst other things. At one point it allegedly was so popular the demand vastly exceeded the supply that was imported to Japan. This in spite of that 90% of the Philippines' nata de coco production was imported by Japan at that point in time. Though that was last decade, and nowadays it's not longer a fad.
i looked up the official definition: > Nata de coco is a chewy, translucent, traditional Philippine > dessert which is "coconut gel-product from coconut water by > bacterial fermentation-prepared."
>>613 Surely you jest, sir, making but an attempting to make an old maiden flustered and blushing from perplexity. Alas, my reactions are naught along those lines, but mere amusement.
umm...well just a minor thing...one girl e-mailed me. it was a short message but tickeled my nerve from the morning! -_-" you know everyone wants to start the day peacefully...right?
>>710 huh? *blinks* do it everyday? o.O??? ummm...I was talking about "taking shower"..coz I had to walk long and I sweated a lot...AGHHHHHHH!!! >.< maybe I know what you are talking about!!!! NOPE!! I still don't know things like that..-_-"
>>714 GAHHHHHH!!!!GAH GAH GAH! NOOOOO!!!*shakes head like crazy*
.................................-_- *dies*
I just love miyavi-kun he's my everything I'll be his wife if not possible I'll be her staying as his slave whole my life...*starts to read his essay again..even though she's read it over 100 times* XXXXDDDDD
but if he wishes..I migt....oh no!!!...what am I talking about!AHhh Sorry!!!! gahhh!!!! OK I go back to study!! gotta study!! gotta study!!! X.X 2chan is addictive! >.< I'm bad I'm bad!!! *SG hits her head x 10*
>>713 Relax :-p >>724 o.O;;; Relax, kid. It's not healthy to brainwash yourself with OCDs, hit yourself less (like not at all) and if you get sidetracked, just accept that it happened, and continue on with your studies.
>>732 Women can be more positive and agressive about sex, though the same way all guys aren't that, nor do all the women have to be like that. Though I pity people who're traumatized about themselves. Your statement reminds me, at some school in UK, the schoolgirls were being very sexually agressive, and a lot of the guys were complaining at that the girls had resorted to their methods, whistling after the other gender, coaxing them into having sex, molesting and violating the other sex, calling them names, etc etc. The school faculty was upset, at that "the girls had sunk to the boys' level". The boys were pretty unhappy as well, as they didn't like getting treated badly like that. I just hope those boys have learned that it's not good to do things to people against their wishes, and that those girls will too.
>>735 Eh? Binding literally or socially? It isn't healthy to make people feel bad about their natural feelings, no. Makes them traumatized later on when they do keep feel anything "wrong" according to what they've been taught they have to be like. Like a friend of mine, his mom was horribly religious. At times when he's feeling depressed, if he feels attracted to anyone, he gets nauseous and disgusted, and sometimes even throws up -___-;; Poor guy, I need to get him to go to a therapist. He's okay most of the time, apart from when he gets depressed.
>>750 OCD = Obsessive-compulsive disorder I was referring to that she hit herself ten times after she decided that she was bad, as well as that she kept repeating that she was bad.
>>724 Please stop beating yourself up, and brainwashing yourself into thinking that you're a bad person. It makes me sad. If you have problems with studying, http://studygs.net/ is a good page. If you feel you have too big problems focusing, http://studygs.net/adhd/index.htm may be a good page to visit, even if you don't have ADHD. I have tons of links to other sites regarding how to become more efficient, and how to focus better, so if you want more, all you need to do is ask. This one was merely the site I'm aware of that's most focused on school type of studies/personal development).
>>755 You can have it log the conversation and then read the responses he sent to your bot. Maybe you could program the bot to say the stuff that you wanted to say to him.
>>757 Hmm. Interesting idea. Thanks, but no thanks. It wouldn't be the same at all. I'd rather have emails from him stating that he was online, than fake conversations. He would discover rather quickly that it was but a bot, regardless of how well coded it would have been... We make too many abrupt topic jumps, and connect them loosely too much... As well as doing too many random jokes and references to various topics... If I have something particular I want to say to my boyfriend, I can always email that to him ^_^
>>763 I keep hearing references to that book in the personal development blogs I follow. The book itself doesn't hold any allure for me though. I feel I get more than enough information about the topic, as well as more, through the blogs and sites I read.
>>768 Ahh. Heh? You haven't read Covey's book, and it doesn't do anything but standing in your bookshelf and looking pretty? Hmm.. I should read Fowler's book, or better yet buy it once I can afford to. It seems ridiculously handy.
>>771 And sorry for misinterprenting >>768, I'm lacking energy and I wasn't able to properly focus. I probably should get breakfast. Or, more of lunch, considering what time it is by now :-/ Half past noon...
>>502 Yes, it is. Now that he's became a world champion, I just can't pass up this oppotunity to use the name, though I suspect Kanehira, the evil-faced man, bought the judges.
>>786 Maybe someone who uses the same provider as yours was not allowed to post in 2ch, and you were stopped from posting too. (or they noticed you were a devil. lol)
>>785 Have mercy! Haven't you heard of the Divine Nishiyama? He did simultaneous translation for the live coverage when Apollo 11 made the very first lunar landing in 1969. He is the Godfather in the simultaneous interpreting industry.
As for Fowler's book, it's actually a dictionary and it would be very hard to read cover to cover. Try Amazon's LOOK INSIDE and you'll get the rough picture of what it's like.
>>783 guitarist? I like both piano player and guitarist! they are sexshi... I esp love someone with long thin fingers! the bestest! lolz~~*blinks blinks*
>>790 I'm afraid not. I wasn't even born then. But putting this aside, the only simultaneous interpriter I've known is Kunihiro whatever. People admire him, right?
The book has more than 700 pages. Yeah, it's just adictionary.
