I understand your feelings somewhat.
But it seems that you totally misunderstood Miyadai.

He rarely talks about ideals.

He used to like explaining the world with two words.
強度 (strength) and 意味 (meaning).
It's difficult to translate but it must be "tensions" and "meanings".

強度 is like density or depth. Without any meanings.
Behind the word 強度, I see the people, who are watching Anime and Manga,
sometimes praising them too much in the net, even creating something,
chatting with huge anonymouses, chasing the targets deeply all for their self-satisfaction
without any special purposes or significant meanings of life.

And the word also reminds me of high school hookers.
They wanna feel their lives more real in density, amuse themselves deeply,
and even dare to hurt themselves. (From the viewpoint of meanings.)

They seem to Feel something strongly or Experience something extremely.
They may be looking for something, which touches their hearts though...

意味 is much alike ideals as you said. Or certain purposes of life.
Maybe stories behind the society will be included.

He often said that people should live much with 強度 and with less 意味
to survive this meaningless everyday world. (終わりなき日常を生きろ)
IMO, if people wanted too much meanings for their lives in current society,
then they should be depressed finally and might get into Sokagakkai or something.

He just said theories and rarely told any ideals or goals hypocritically.
Much realistic and even often cruel person.
That attracted young people living in their hopeless ages.
We loved not his personality but his logics.

Reasonable people might regard 強度 as hedonistic indication or attitude.
But in historical views, now we are living with too much meanings
compared to those in 50 years ago. It's very true for young people.

Sure we can't live without meanings,
but now we can hardly realize our own meanings of life at all
in spite of so many stories around us.

So we just watch movies, TV shows, Anime, Manga, and stuffs prepared for masses.
His opinion saying "live with 強度" sounds like "life is just killing time" to me.

And about communism.

Do you know liberalism is right policy in the world,
however it is often said by left wing in Japan?

These twists often take place because Japanese 自民党 has had no obvious policies
for long time and still seems to wanna fit the situations.
They want to be so-called "almighty".

They talks well with Chinese communists as much as with Neo conservatives in US.

I said Sociologists are like left wing people,
but it doesn't mean they are all communists.
(Note that I am myself strongly supporting 自民党 and 安倍 former prime minister,)
They are trying to be fair for everyone and exclude any discriminations ever,
So they naturally become left wing in Japan, I guess.

I don't know but there must be a few hard core communists in the school for sure.
But they are too clever to support ready-made political parties so easily, I guess.
If they did, they would have kind of prejudice, which they hate mostly.

However as for Miyadai, as long as I read his books and watched his assertions on TV,
he seems to be much alike a kind of libertarian than the sorts of communists.
