It is useful to examine the more general issues that emerge from this description of the Quebec case. First, we should note that there may be a discrepancy between the promotion of certain concepts in society, such as alternation and apprenticeship, and the social conditions necessary to put them in place. Even though the national advocates for large representative organizations can firmly support an idea and even show a degree of collaboration in its implementation, this involvement does not necessarily eliminate the constraints related to both institutional habits and concrete social relations governing employment systems. 『Should it therefore be concluded that social leaders ought to show more moderation? Probably not, given that sources of social dynamism are few.』 Rather, we should focus on identifying factors of success in innovative experiments in order to provide better direction to decision-makers.

Thus, as no serious measures were taken to make it more representative of the Empire as a whole or infuse into it a new spirit, it was better that the functions that it had previously exercised should pass to other hands.
First off thanks to those who sent birthday wishes, it past pretty quietly which was just the way I wanted it to go. trying to get motivated after spending a week in London then in China at my brothers was a little more difficult than I thought it would be.But move I did, arrived at Bangkok airport where I got picked up by a Canadian guy who was heading to Khoa San Road so we shared a cab. So for the next 3 days we hung out a long with two welsh guys. I was the deflector for all those pretty young thai's be it men or women who chose to try and get friendly with the boys for the time we where there.

Students who go to a big city university have lots of different and interesting ways to spend their time. There's so much going on. In fact, some students don't go to as many of their classes as they should! They go out with their friends three or four nights every week. Money goes fast and so, most students have to get part-time jobs. Some students work twenty hours a week or more. And if they're going with someone, that takes up even more of their time. Before they know it, the term's gone and they have to prepare for the exams. The ones who have skipped too many of their classes, and have not done the weekly assignments, panic. They almost go crazy trying to pass tests for courses they have not done any studying for all year. Even if they go all out just before the exams, it is very tough. They have to go back to the very beginning and study every key concept for the first time. If it were only a single course, or two at the most, it would be rough going but possible. With 4 or 5 courses there is absolutely no way. What is the solution? Learning to manage your time from the get-go.
If we bad brought a map with us, we would know which road to take. She was always well ahead of the rest of the class. In view of the fact that all the other members of the group are going,I think you should go.
But let's not sell paper documents short. The paper-based book, magazine,or newspaper still has a lot of advantages over its digital counterpart. A newspaper offers a wide field of vision, good resolution, portability, and ease of use. A book is small,lightweight,high-resolution appliance you need to read a digital document. For at least a decade,it won't be as convenient to read a long, sequential document on a computer screen as on paper. (I'll admit that I've done a lot of the editing of this book with a pen on paper.I like reading text on paper.) The first digital documents that achieve widespread use will offer new functionality rather than simply duplicate the older medium. After all,a television set is larger, more expensive, and more cumberrsome and offers lower resolution than a book or a magazine, but that hasn't limited TV's popularity. Television brought video entertainment into our homes, and it was so compelling that television sets found their place alongside our books and magazines.
It is universities that can make the most effective contributions toward a breakthrough in this situation. Ongoing reforms in the nation's universities are expected to bring greater initiatives and flexibility in trying to meet the demands of society for a better and integrated use of science and technology.

PROPHET OF POISON After Tokyo suffers a nerve-gas attack, suspicion focuses on the leader of an apocalyptic cult BY DAVID VAN BIEMA

It seems to me that Aum criminals did not directly evaporate a small volume of pure sarin but did it either in a "binary" way or with some sort of chemical determent. The word "binary" refers to a tactical way for a highly volatile and toxic agent in converting it beforehand into two harmless or low toxic intermediates, such like a solvent A and B labeled, and mix them together as needed at an actual warfare.
A classic case of this application is as follows. In a chemical typed cannon ball, two canisters filled with each of the intermediates respectively are charged up with a small amount of explosives. After being projected, two canisters break open consequently in relation to the gyration of the cannon ball itself. Thus, the mixture produces a predetermined toxic effect. Whereas any type of weapons exerts the maximum capability of casualties against enemy, does that of security and nullification for friendly troops. This is an intrinsic contradiction for all sorts of weapons.
The last 4 weeks were absolutely busy but, now I can see light on the edge of the tunnel ... First the move to Hamburg which was very easy and done in a day. My Mom was with me and kept her eyes on me all over the time. It was great having her here for a couple of days! As I wanted to have a wall more in my appartement separating a big room into 2, the guys from the construction company came and prepared everything for setting it. The obstacle was to bypass the water-in pipe for the heating. But, as it always is on saturdays and public holidays - they met it. So the water came out and run its way the facade down.. Nevertheless, it is already settled but the wall is still waiting to be finished. My new colleagues are very polite and seeking to help where ever they can; my boss does as well (so far). The job itself is very interesting and time runs to catch and to keep everything in mind.

Re: What is the highest note for Soprano heard by Mozart? I know its not in the Queen of the night aria, so is it in K.416? K.418? or K.419? these pieces are amazing and i am just exploring my new cd CME volume.23, perhaps there is a picee with a higher note then these? i havent heard all the cds yet... : : : anyway i just wanted to know what the highest note Mozart wrote for a voice, and what note it is and what piece? Does it rank up there with other composers as the highest?
Dear AA, The highest note Mozart wrote for soprano is g3 in K.316 (300b) recitative and aria "Popoli di Tessaglia!" - "Io non chiedo, eterni Dei" for soprano and orchestra, text by Ranieri de' Calzabigi ("Alceste" by Gluck, I,2), Munchen, 8 January 1779. This piece was written for Aloysia Weber. I do not know the highest for other composers.
According to the Guiness book of world records this is the highest note ever written for a singer in a vocal work, but I don't know if this is still true or if the Guiness folk did their research thoroughly enough. I remember reading about a singer Mozart met in his youth who could sing much higher even than g3, in Italy I think, but I don't remember her name. I would be surprised if nothing accordingly virtuosic was written for her.
I see young men, my townsmen, whose misfortune it is to habe inherited farms, houses, barns, cattle, and farming tools; for these are more easily acquired than got rid of. Better if they had been born in the open pasture and suckled by a wolf, that they might have seen with clearer eyes what field they were called to labor in.
Now there is in America a curious combination of pride in having risen to a position where it is no longer necessary to depend upon manual labor for a living and genuine delight in what one is able to accomplish with his hands.
Very exciting is the way to the company each morning: First I take the bus and afterwards the ferry. For a girl like me coming from Berlin not common! Seeing all the planes coming in, over steamers running out from the port - is absolutely great and must have been seen. So, if you ever come to Hamburg, it is worth a picture!
I was detailed / to the transport service / and I drove the Sanka [abbreviation for Sanitatskraftwagen/medical truck] which was to carry the prisoners.... Then we drove to the gas chambers. The medical orderlies climbed a ladder, /they had gas masks up there, and emptied the cans. I was able to observe the prisoners / while they were undressing. It always proceeded quitely / and without them / suspecting anything. It happened very quickly.
At another, later gassing -- also in autumn 1941 -- Grabner* ordered me / to pour Zyklon B / into the opening / because only one medical orderly had shown up. During a gassing / Zyklon B had to be poured / through both openings of the gas-chamber room / at the same time. This gassing was also a transport of 200-250 Jews, / once again men, women and children. As the Zyklon B -- as already mentioned -- was in granular form, / it trickled down over the people / as it was being poured in.
They then started to cry out terribly / for they now knew / what was happening to them. I did not look through the opening / because it had to be closed / as soon as the Zyklon B had been poured in. After a few minutes / there was silence. After some time had passed, / it may have been ten to fifteen minutes, the gas chamber was opened. The dead lay higgledy-piggedly / all over the place. It was a dreadful sight.
Article 46 of the Hague Convention of 1907, concerning the Laws and Customs of War on Land, on which the case for the Prosecution was based, provides that "Family honour and rights, individual life and private prpperty, as well as religious convictions and worship must be respected."
This Article falls under the section heading, Military Authority over the Territory of the Hostile State, and was intended to refer to acts committed by the occupying authorities in occupied teritory. In the trial of Tesch, the acts to which the accused were alledgedly accessories before the fact were committed mainly at Auschwitz, in occupied Poland.

In many ways the governments of Japan and Britain are the same. For,example, both countries have as head of state a figure without political power. In the case Japan, it is the Emperor, and in the case of Britain, it is the Queen. However, the Queen does have an extra international role, as she is head of the Commonwealth and head of state of a number of other countries like Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Both Japan and Britain have a parliament with two chambers or houses. In Britain, the upper house is called the House of Lords and the lower house is called the House of Commons. Although the House of Lord has over 1,000 members, it is weak and has very little real power. The House of Commons is the real centre of power in Britain. It has 650 members who are known as Members of Parliament of MPs. They are elected directly by the people of England, wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland at least ever five year. The leader of the political party whit controls the House of Commons because the Prime Minister. The present Prime Minister is Mr John Major. The prime Minister before was Mrs Margaret Thatcher, the woman Prime Minister in British history. In the centre of London there are several famous buildings connected with government. There is the Palace of Westminster, where Parliament sits. Its clock is called Big Ben, and makes Perhaps one of the most famous sounds in Britain. The Prime Minister live nearby at a house called Number Ten Downing Street. But better known is the London home of the Queen--Buckingham Palace.

Well, as I've been working many hours a day, I had no time so far to go out and have a deeper look at the Hamburg night life / weekend life or so. But hopefully this comes in the course of the next months - I will take it step by step.Your report on Sanja Festival (have you got any picures of the Sanja Festival available?) and the reunion with your elementary school class was very interesting! I guess you did not inherited a business from your parents, like me :) But it is always interesting what people doing in their live and how they change their shape and understanding due to their way of live they went.In almost 2 weeks I will have to do my written examens for this semester and I fear I have to do such a lot of work in preparation . But I will try to pass them anyway. Afterwards I need to check out where I can continue my study from here as I cannot attend all the lectures in Berlin. There must be a way ...

He is willing and able to carry out painstaking, close readings of Aristotle or Kant, for example. In Being and Time he weaves an intricate conceptual web in order to address what may be the oldest philosophical topic of all-Being.Heidegger is convinced that matters of vital importance are at stake in the tradition. If we think tenaciously until we uncover the roots of traditional problems and concepts,we can bring philosophy back to the basic and urgent realities of our human condition. In this way,Heidegger unites historical research with original thinking. The soldiers would often express how much they enjoyed receiving magazines, letters and newspapers from home. They also mentioned the receipt of "comfort bags" filled with canned goods, magazines, soap, handkerchiefs, toothbrush, miniature doll, lipstick, and wooden clothes. The lipstick and cloths were feminine and the girls couldn't understand why the people at home were sending such articles. They speculated that the sender could only have had themselves or the "native girls".

James Boster, an anthropology professor at the University of Connecticut(コネチカット州), studied the Waorani, a tribe in eastern Ecuador. Up until recent contact with the outside world, the Waorani engaged in a vicious cycle of revenge killings, but the Wao language lacks a term for the concept of "revenge killing." They simply refer to the act as waenganta (killed) or taenongantapa (speared), Boster said.

Many women work, because they worry about their future. For example, their husband could be a victim of downsizing. He might not find a job with a comparable salary. If he is over 50, he might feel lucky just to find any job! Many women worry that their husband might divorce them. Since almost half of the marriages in the US end in divorce, women must consider the possibility that they may have to support themselves. A good job offers them some security, just in case!
As the need for more cheap labor increased, so did the number of slaves brought from overseas. In 1790, the first Census reported 760,000 blacks, most of whom were slaves from West Africa.
unfortunately, compiling a huge list of possibilities and their nuances is not terribly useful to students, and so the guideline I used was that if any sentence required a "wait a minute, how about if..." example to justify its existence, it was labeled "unnatural". In other words,'unnatural' in this book sometimes means 'not the normal, neutral way of saying something'.
Don't you think it absolutely wrong and injustice that only brutal juvenile offenders are protected with every care by law at present in Japan? They should also be punished by penalties including death.

If our ET college student made a detailed study, she would notice that retaliation occurs among nonhumans too. In birds (blue-footed boobies and European moorhens), elephant seals, side-striped jackals as well as in a host of primates, animals will use violence in response to violence.
These days everything seems to be getting smarter. So-called "smart materials" include shape-memory alloys, which change shape according to the temperature, and piezoelectric materials that mechanically deform when an electric field is applied. These materials are said to be smart because they can be used to sense and respond to the environment. But smart materials are not limited to solids; liquids, it turns out, can be smart too. Such "smart fluids" are now finding their way into all sorts of devices, from cars to bridges to digital cameras.
Injuries that were unintentional, self-inflicted or caused by child abuse were not included in the study. They found that girls in middle school who are involved in violent incidents are more likely than boys of the same age to be retaliating for a previous event. Although girls are more likely to retaliate, for both genders the most common reason given for a fight was "being disrespected" or "teasing."
The saying, ‘You must ask in order to know,’ is true in so far as it leads to thinking about thing, and by thinking nobody can ever get worse but will only get better.
This type of total role change is not likely to happen, but it is possible to create experiences that give a good picture of another's perspective. The story of one Iowa elementary school teacher and her class illustrates the point. Not long after Martin Luther King, Jr. was killed in 1968, Mrs. Jane Elliott wanted to make sure her third graders would understand the prejudice that caused such a tragedy. But how could she do this? Everyone in the small town of Riceville was white, and most of her eight-year-olds had never really known any African-Americans. How could she bring home to them the nature of prejudice?

Teaching Foreigin Languages - Why? A New Look at an Old Quastion Wilga Rivers groups the long-range objectives in the teaching of a foreign language into six classes.
Her solution was to divide the class into two groups, one containing all the children with blue eyes, and the other made up of the brown-eyed students. Then on that day, she treated the brown-eyes as better people. They all sat in the front of the room, had second helpings at lunch, got five extra minutes of recess, and received extra praise for their work from Mrs. Elliott. At the same time, the blue-eyes were discriminated against. Besides sitting in the back-row seats, getting less to eat at meals, and so on, the blue-eyes never received praise for their schoolwork from Mrs. Elliott, who seemed to be able to find something wrong with everything they did. "What can you expect from a blue-eyed person?" was her attitude. The level of the blue-eyed children's schoolwork dropped almost immediately.

Saddam Hussein arrived in chains at a palace complex once used by his inner circle for hunting, fishing and other pleasurable diversions.
Unchained, Saddam was able to gesticulate at judges. The ex-Iraqi leader was flown to the complex by helicopter and brought to the makeshift courtroom in an armoured bus, escorted by four US military vehicles and a military ambulance.
The handcuffs, attached to a chain around his body, were then removed, dropping to the floor outside the courtroom with a clatter.
He was then taken inside by two imposing Iraqi prison guards, while six other guards waited outside.
With free hands, the former president was able to jab his finger aggressively at the judge when he became animated, during the half-hour hearing to read out the seven preliminary charges against him.
President: Dressed in a grey pin-striped suit and white shirt - and looking thinner than before - the ex-Iraqi leader was at times defiant and at times subdued.
But he was wholly different from the submissive and dishevelled prisoner last seen by the world when he was captured in December.
Defeated body language - One of the few reporters allowed in the courtroom, from Qatari-based al-Jazeera TV, said that at first Saddam Hussein refused to reply when he was asked to confirm his name.
"Are you Saddam Hussein?" the judge said.
Looking indignantly at the court official he replied: "Yes, Saddam Hussein, the president of the Republic of Iraq."
The judge then repeated "Saddam Hussein al-Majid?" using the former leader's full name.
"Saddam Hussein, the president of the Republic of Iraq," repeated the man in the dock, emphatically. Throughout the hearing he refused being referred to as the "former Iraqi president".
And when asked where he lived, Saddam Hussein replied:"I live in every Iraqi house."
This obstreperous attitude during the initial exchange seemed to set the tone for the whole hearing.
Legal dispute 法律論争 "Under what law am I being tried here?" he asked the judge towards the end of the session.
Did he have a law certificate, the accused asked, and since when had he been recognised as a judge - before the occupation of Iraq or afterwards?
"Since the days of the previous regime until now," the judge replied, explaining that the former US-led occupation administration had asked him to hold the trial. “前の政権当時から今までずっとだ”と判事は答え、アメリカ主導の占領統治委員会 が自分にこの裁判を依頼して来たのだと説明した。
Saddam then laughed: "You are trying me by order of the invasion forces. By what law are you trying me?"
"I am trying you in accordance with the Iraqi law," the judge said.
"Then you are trying me by the law that I enacted," Saddam Hussein replied. "You are trying me by a law that I approved and ratified."
Angry response - As the charges were read out, Saddam Hussein became enraged when the judge got to the section involving the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.
"How can you as an Iraqi talk about the 'Iraqi invasion of Kuwait'? お前(判事かなフ セインかな?)は一イラク人としてイラクのクェート侵攻をどのように論ずるのか?
"Kuwait is Iraqi territory. It was not an invasion."
"How could you defend those dogs? They were trying to turn Iraqi women into 10-dinar prostitutes" by undercutting the price of Iraqi oil.
He was rebuked for using insulting language by the judge, who told him this was not permitted in a court of law.
At another point, the former president looked around smilingly at the court and remarked: "This is all a theatre. The real villain is Bush."
Regarding charges over the chemical weapons attack on the Kurds of Halabja in 1988, he said he had heard about such attacks during his rule "on television".
And again he mocked the court when asked if he wanted it to provide lawyers to defend him.
"But everyone says, the Americans say, I have millions of dollars stashed away in Geneva. Why shouldn't I afford a lawyer?"
Not surprisingly then, at the end of the arraignment Saddam Hussein refused to sign the list of charges against him until he had a defence lawyer present.
At which point the guards were told to take the prisoner away.
One of them hesitated, apparently not quite knowing what to do with this man who less than 18 months ago was an all-powerful tyrant who ruled Iraq with a rod of iron.
Eventually, he tucked his hands under Saddam Hussein's elbows and led him away.

That's not to say, of course, that retaliation is always, or even sometimes, justified. Sometimes it may be attributed to a false idea (that Saddam Hussein was responsible for the 9/11 attacks), or it can be grossly out of proportion to the offence (as in the Mitarai case).

In Japan, the Juvenile Act prohibits the announcement of the name and picture of a juvenile criminal. However, since there is no penalty to break the law, even a national publisher has broadcasted the name and picture on purpose. In the US, it frequently happens that the name and photograph are published especially for capital crimes. What are the purposes of broadcasting names and photographs?
1. The fear of disclosing names and broadcasting photographs dissuades juveniles from committing crimes.
2. Just amusing to readers or an audience.
3. For the punishment of a juvenile's parents and society.
4. Giving information for protecting the community from the juvenile.

I wish I could be acquainted with the feelings and thoughts which must agitate the heart and present themselves to the mind of an enlightened Englishman, when he first lands on this continent. He must greatly rejoice that he lived at a time to see this fair country descovered and settlesd ; he must neccessarily feel a share of national pride, when he views the chain of settlements which embellishes these extended shores. When he says to himself, this is the work of my countrymen, who, when convulsed by factions, afflicted by a variety of miseries and wants, restless and impatient, took refuge here.
Yet it took more than 20 years for Spaniards to learn more about the uses and taste of these objects. It was during Hernando Cortes’s invasion of Mexico that Spaniards acquired their first taste, or at least view, of chocolate. This initial encounter did not predict a great future for the commodity. In the spring of 1519, Cortes and his retinue landed on the coast of Veracruz. Two envoys of Moctezuma presented Cortes and his officers with jewels, precious stones, and feather works as well as abundant dishes of food. The Spaniards delighted in the durable goods, “staring at them with great happiness and contentment,” but they expressed hesitation about the foodstuffs.
The Spanish missionary, Diego Duran, who heard this story from Indian informants, reported that “when the time came to drink the chocolate that had been brought to them, that most highly prized drink of the Indians, they were filled with fear. When the Indians saw that they dared not to drink they tasted from all the gourds and the Spaniards refreshed themselves with chocolate, because in truth, it is a refreshing beverage”

WASHINGTON - As Americans mourn the passing of president Ronald Reagan, almost forgotten is the decisive part his administration played in the survival of Iraq's president Saddam Hussein through his eight year war with Iran.
Reagan, determined to check arch-foe Iran, opened a back door to Iraq through which flowed US intelligence and hundreds of millions of dollars in loan guarantees even as Washington professed neutrality in Baghdad's war with Tehran.
Donald Rumsfeld, then Reagan's special Middle East envoy, is credited with establishing the back channel to Saddam on a secret trip to Baghdad in December 1983.
Economic aid poured into Iraq in the form of hundreds of millions of dollars worth of loan guarantees to buy US agricultural products, indirectly aiding the war effort.
A May 9, 1984 memo unearthed by the National Security Archive, a Washington research organization, noted that US policy for the sale of dual-use equipment to Iraq's nuclear program also was reviewed.
"By 1982, Iraq accounted for 40 percent of French arms exports," wrote Pollack. "Paris sold Baghdad a wide range of weapons, including armored vehicles, air defense radars, surface-to-air missiles, Mirage fighters, and Exocet anti-ship missiles."
"German firms also rushed in without much compunction, not only selling Iraq large numbers of trucks and automobiles but also building vast complexes for Iraq's chemical warfare, biological warfare, and ballistic missile programs," he wrote.
The Reagan administration opened full diplomatic relations with Baghdad in November, 1984. Iraqi chemical attacks continued not only on Iranian forces but also on Kurdish civilians, notably at Hallabja in 1987.

Waking up,I found that I am in the bed of a hospital.....
The ability to read is something which man learned only after centuries of illiteracy. In the first years of your life, you reenacted this human progress, moving from animal noises to articulate expression, and finally to the comprehension of written words.
In most British minds, there are two different images of Japan. One image is of the first-rate products made by world-leading industries, and the other is of a mysterious ancient culture full of old traditions. Cars,CD player, and camera on the one hand, and the tea ceremony, flower arrangement ant the martial arts on the other. Modern aspects of Japan are considered solely to be a result of westernization, while the true essence of Japan can be found in the traditional culture. However, there is a problem with both of these images.
During his famous “I Have A Dream" speech in August 1963, Dr. King lamented that 100 years after the slaves had been freed, “the Negro is still languishing in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land."

Two years later, President Johnson acknowledged the problem, saying that it was not enough to take a person who for years has been hobbled by chains, and liberate him, bring him to the starting line of a race, and then say, “You are free to compete with others."

You will see that no amount of manipulation would cause your little finger to perform the tricks neccessary in the playing of the piano, for example,if some sort of nervous organization had not occured within it. The nerve structures in your little finger are as neccessary as those in your brain. For the purpose of piano playing they are both indispensible parts of your mind. The pianist's fingers are culturally quite as highly organized as his brain must be in order to read the music which his fingers help to produce. He has the score, literally,at his finger tips.

I am one Japanese citizen. Please give your time if you please for 1 minute for me.
1988,It was a case that one highschool girl became a target of a group of teenagers for repeated sexual assaults and physical abuse for 40 days, which caused her death, and it is said about 100 people witnessed and/or participated in this crime. Only four persons were arrested ,and three persons were released among those in ten years.
And one of three persons caused the kidnap confinement incident "again" about several days ago. He has said, "It is the same, although one person will kill and two persons will kill." and, "Even if arrested again, I learn well the way of touching which receives a public prosecutor, and the method of making a punishment light."
However, mass communications of Japan have not reported this incident. The police is applied to arresting also for one month, although the victim has asked for help. Japanese society is going to hide this incident and this criminal. Now, only a part of Internet communities and BBS are a noise about this incident.
If you please, please tell this incident to the mass communications of your country. And please help so that a miserable thing like the incident in 1988 never happens. We want to lose society where an offender pushes himself forward.
We have been under big pressure. If you please, please help in how. Finally, the details of the incident in 1988 are written.
