Patrol vessel founders The bow of the Karashima, a Fihsheries Agency partol vessel, is submerged Monday after being struck by the 4,044-ton Korex Kunsan, a South Korean freighter, Sunday moring in fog about 25 kilometers off Mishima island in Yamaguchi Prefecure. The 499-ton Karashima was taking part in search for crewmen missing from a fishing vessel that sank last week after colliding with a container vessel. The Japanese Coast Guard reported the partol vessel began leaking fuel oil after the collision. At least on of the 16 members of the Karashima crew was injured, but no one aboard the Korex Kunsan was hurt.
