On the beaches in Enoshima (near Kamakura), Kanagawa Pref. of JAPAN, now there're lots of people picking garbages voluntarily for protest against slanted TV broadcasting and keeping the beaches clean as well.
The reasons why the people protest against Fuji TV they had broadcasted the match of Korea versus Turkey, had cut the scenes when Turkey national team was receiving the 3rd place of the FIFA World Cup 2002. Furthermore, on some TV programs which had broadcasts the FIFA World Cup match, they acted biased reports against national team had played with Korean national team last month. Dissatisfaction of that people is willing for fair news reports while FIFA World Cup 2002 was being held with slanted reports of Japanese media smoldered in their heart.
In addition, this event has started on a BBS called 2ch (2 Channel), and now growing up as the biggest, visible action born from the BBS. This action wont have a big influence, on the other hand, this shows people can corporate each other even with unknown people through the Net. I thank all of the people who are working at the beaches at the moment and also all cooperators.
I am hard to ascertain writing because I do not command well English.

ここも、チトわかりづらいので治さないといけないんですが During the FIFA World Cup 2002, some Japanese TV programs' focus was mostly on the Korean national team and favord the team over Turkey, Spain, Italy, German, and Portugal. Their attitude was biased and the general people's opinion was not necessarily reflected.
Currently at the beaches of Enoshima, Kanagawa Pref. of JAPAN, people are gathering and picking up garbage, voluntarily, as a protest against a biased broadcast by a TV Station. This event was organized at a Forum called 2ch (2 Channel) which is the largest of its' kind in Japan. The motive of this action came from the frustration created by the heavily biased stance the Japanese TV Stations took during the World Cup - mainly towards Korea. On some Japanese TV programs, the reports focused mostly only towards the Korean national team, and despite the exsistence of other respectable competing teams - such as Turkey, Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal - they barely covered any of them, forgeting the importance of unbiased journalism. Furthermore, when Fuji TV, which is one of the main broadcast networks in Japan, broadcasted the match of Korea versus Turkey, they showed great disrepect toward the Turkey by completely cutting off the scene of the Turkish National Team recieving 3rd Place at the 2002 World Cup.
And as for the protest. Fuji TV is planning to broadcast a program live; which plans to make 10,000 people gather the trash at the beach in Enosima. As an act of protest, vollunteers from 2ch decided to take action by using this event - to pick up all trash in Enosima before the Fuji Live Broadcast, making their scheduled program crippled (in a peaceful sense)
The movement may not cause a big influence, but we wanted to show that, though the Japanese Media might have been biased during the World Cup, the citizens of Japan were not biased as them. And also to prove that people could corprate through the use of the Internet. I would like to thank all the people who are working at the beaches at the moment, and all the cooperators who made this event possible.

Japanese Citizens Protest against the biased coverage of the World Cup
Currently at the beaches of Enoshima, Kanagawa Pref. of JAPAN, people are gathered voluntarily to pick up garbage, with some in football uniforms of the National Teams of Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany and so on... This was organized as a protest against a biased broadcast taken by a TV Station during the World Cup. The protest was organized at a Forum called 2ch (2 Channel) which is the largest of its kind in Japan. The motive of this action was the people's dissapointment toward the Japanese TV Stations, that favored the Korean National team too overwhelmingly during the FIFA World Cup 2002. Their attitude was heavily biased and the general people's opinion was not necessarily reflected. They have forgetten the importance of unbiased journalism.
During the FIFA World Cup 2002, some Japanese TV programs focused mostly ONLY towards the Korean national team, and favored the team over Turkey, Spain, Italy, Germany and Portugal - they barely covered any of the teams listed, ignoring the importance of unbiased journalism. R O U T I N E I wake up, as I always do, moments before my alarm goes off. I知 not sure if I set my alarm out of nightly routine habit, or if I somehow feel that by setting it, I知 guaranteed to rise in the morning. Regardless of the reasons, I lay there eyes open in my Ralph Lauren pajamas covered with my dark blue/gray Ralph Lauren sheets, I致e chosen Ralph Lauren sheets because the thread count is considerably higher than that of less quality sheets. I choose the Ralph Lauren pajamas to match the thread count of the sheets, so as to cause less friction when I move. An overabundance of friction causes heat, and too much heat in contact with your skin causes it to dry out which makes you look older. As I lay there, I think of my schedule for the day. My first stop will be a nearby bagel place, as it is always my first stop, I think I値l have an asiago cheese bagel today, with sun dried tomato cream cheese, and a water from disani. I notice a cobweb reflecting in the light coming from my window. Spiders are dirty vile creatures, and he痴 quite lucky he seems to have fled his spindly home, or he would have found his demise to come rather swiftly and sharply, much like the gentle old man that told me to lower my voice just last evening. A smile comes to my face as I remember the surprised look on his, the somber frown of a fleeting life that lived far longer than its expectancy. Maybe others will learn from his example and will not be so quick as to interject their ideas into matters of which are no concern to them. I知 brought back into my reality state by the melodic Tibetan bell-like chime coming from my limited edition Hokusai alarm clock.

A major public poll asking whether if the coverage of the 2002 World Cup was unbiased in Japan. It's a somewhat strict poll, since it requires a valid email address.
