Saint-Petersburg appears to be a great city. Very beautiful architecture. A lot of sculptures. The things I like the most were rivers and channels. Boat excursion totemo tanosii desita! And when bridges were being risen at night, it was something! I was at Hermitage, it's huge and splendid. They say that to watch all the exhibitions you should walk for 20 km! Also I saw several palaces. And of course amber chamber, it was very interesting to visit it.
The fountain park at Petergof is really something special! There were an entertainment - a stone road with a secret fountains. If you step the wrong stone (and they all looks the same) the fountain began to work and pour you with water :)
Funny, we live at hotel Sovetskaya at 10-th floor (well, I can't say I liked this hotel...). It was wary hot at our room and there was no conditioner. And when we opened the window seagulls tried to fly in :) You know, I even found a warning at a hotel booklet: "Please don't open the windows because seagulls are curious and shameless" :) Also I was very surprised when I saw that there are so many tourists in Saint-Petersburg! I guess every second person at the streets was an foreigner. I saw (and heard) Japanese people many times :)
Though there were things I didn't like. Now I'm sure - Saint-Petersburg is a city in which you should walk. But we rode a tourist bus mostly. So, now I regret I didn't walk enough in the city. And the second - some excursions were TOO short :( 3 ours at Hermitage and 3 at Petergof - it's definitely not enough. So, I decided the next time I visit Peterburg by myself without a tourist group. I was very tired every evening, but I liked this trip. Unfortunately my photo camera was broken, and we use only my friend's one, so right now I can't show you any photos... Well, I guess you have already tired to read my letter, so I finish it.
