Alan Di Perna (Interviewer): "Was there a main amp and guitar you used for
your new album?"
Beck: "In the early stages I was using a [Line 6] POD in a writing studio with a
guy called Ron Aslan, one of the up-and-coming young writers over there [in
the U.K.]. I didn't take an amp up there. I just plugged into his studio gizmos,
and he had a POD. I got quite a lot out of that thing. There's quite a lot of
demo guitar left in there on the song "Plan B." But most of the rest of the
album was done with a Marshall JCM2000, and a Line 6 I've been using as well.
It has quite a lot of variations that you couldn't get out of the Marshall. The
Marshall is great. But it has just that one characteristic."
Wow. It is an honor and a privilege to be part of Jeff Beck's arsenal.

アラン「ニューアルバムではメインギターとかメインアンプと呼べるような
ものはありましたか？」
ベック「最初のほう、ロン・アスランとスタジオで曲を書いてるときはＰＯＤを
使ってたよ。ロンは今のイギリスで一番有望なソングライターの１人なんだ。
その段階ではアンプは使ってない。ロンのスタジオでＰＯＤにギター突っ込んでただけ。
そこで色んな物を得たよ。プランＢのデモ録りで本当に沢山のギターが録れた。
他のは大体マーシャルのＪＣＭ２０００だったんだけどライン６も同じく
良く使ったね。マーシャルでは得られない本当に色んなバリエーションが
得られるんだ。マーシャルは凄いよ。でも個性が１個しかないからね。」
ワオ！ジェフ・ベックの楽器置き場の一角を占められるなんて光栄だね！

Beck: "Yeah. I was surprised. People went, 'Line 6? What's that?' And I said,
'Hey, you didn't complain about the sounds.' I don't remember the model, but
it's a fine amp. It enabled me to experiment with a lot of different textures
without changing amps or plugging other things in. I also used the onboard
effects."

２ｘ１２コンボとのごちゃまぜだけどね。」

てな感じだった。だから俺は「おい、この音に文句言えるか？」って返したよ。

アンプを変えたり色々機材入れ替えたりせずに色んな感じのアンプサウンドを
試せたんだ。内蔵されてるエフェクターも使ったよ。」
