November concert tour of Japan overs fears of international
travel after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.Board chairman
Douglas Leatherdale said he met with the orchestra's management
and a committee representing the musicians on Thursday, and
there was a mutual agreement to cancel the tour. Board members
approved the move Friday.The tour had been set for Nov. 5-20.
