【空港】米UPS、中部国際空港に就航　日米航空交渉の合意を受け [07/09/15]

航空貨物大手のＵＰＳ（米ジョージア州アトランタ）は１４日、
中部国際空港（愛知県常滑市）に貨物専用便を就航すると発表した。
東京で開かれていた日米航空交渉の合意を受け、新たに中部空港への乗り入れを決めた。

中部空港の貨物取扱量は昨年１２月以降、前年割れが続き、全日空も貨物の大幅減便を決めるなど、
“逆風”が続いているだけに、空港会社は進出を歓迎している。

合意では中部空港に週６便を乗り入れ、中部経由で上海、フィリピンへも乗り入れる。
ＵＰＳによると、乗り入れは来年３月の夏ダイヤからで、使用機材などは未定。

ＵＰＳは名古屋市中川区に集配センターがあり、これまで東海３県の貨物は関西空港にトラック輸送してきた。
中部への乗り入れに伴い、貨物取り扱いの最終締め切り時刻を遅らせるとともに、
エリアを静岡、長野にまで拡大する。

日本法人のＵＰＳジャパンは「自動車、エレクトロニクスなど、製造業の中心地の中部圏と、
世界の顧客との間にネットワークをつなげたい」としている。

空港会社の平野幸久会長は「貨物部門は空港の大きな柱で、進出を歓迎する。
これを機に成田、関空に行っている中部圏の貨物を取り戻したい」と話している。

ＵＰＳは約６００機を保有しており、世界２００か国以上で航空貨物を運んでいる。

TOKYO, Sept. 13, 2007 - The U.S. Departments of State and Transportation today reached an
agreement that will allow UPS (NYSE: UPS) and other air carriers to expand air operations to and from Japan.

The agreement provides UPS the authority to operate six daily flights between the U.S. and Nagoya, Japan,
in addition to its daily service to Tokyo and Osaka. Nagoya, the fourth largest city in Japan, offers UPS significant
opportunities to continue expanding its business in Asia. In addition, UPS will be able to connect these flights to
ts new air hub in Shanghai, China.

with this landmark agreement will allow UPS to better serve customers in Japan and around the world and
