I stumbled on this link, and since there was a lot of discussion about this
subject.
Small translation:
How to defeat Macrovision, press the MOdeChange button on the front until
you see the colorbars. Keep the button pressed ( about 15 seconds) till the
color bars dissapear. Macrovision protection is now switched off till you
switch of the ACDV.
