Conduct of a competitive US dollar loan facility auction using US dollar proceeds of swap
transactions with the Fed 〔2009.08.31〕
□ The Bank of Korea (BOK) plans to conduct a competitive auction through its US dollar
loan facility using the USD proceeds of its Swap Transactions with the Federal
Reserve. The details are as follows :
o Auction number : BOKTAFU090901-85D
o Date and Time of auction : 10:00-10:30 am September 1st Tue. 2009
o Bid method : Electronic bidding via the BOK-wire system*
* Banks which are not able to log in the BOK-wire system due to electronic malfunctions are allowed to participate via the FX information system, in which case
prior permission is required by the BOK.
o Tenor : 85 days
- Value date : 2009. 9. 3 (Thu), Maturity date : 2009. 11. 27 (Fri)
o Offering amount : USD 0.8 billion
o Minimum bid amount : USD 1 million
o Maximum bid amount : USD 100 million per institution
- Two bids with different terms are acceptable, within the maximum bid amount.
o Minimum bid rate : 0.6724%(yearly)
o Auction type : Variable-rate auction
- Banks submitting bids above the minimum bid rate win the bid and will be
allocated funds in descending order of their bid interest rates.
o Participant banks : All banks including Korean branches of foreign banks as stipulated
in the Banking Act, the Credit Business Units of the National
Agricultural Cooperative Federation and National Federation of
Fisheries Cooperatives, the Korea Development Bank and
Industrial Bank of Korea.
