First impressions of Inuyasha anime
James Sternberg wrote

Well@` last night was the premier of "Inuyasha"@` so I thought I would give my
initial impressions.

First@` the story for the first episode (and it looks like the second episode
from the previews) follows the original manga almost exactly (from what I
remember of the manga). I guess this means that they are not going to start
off with a parallel story line like in "Love Hina". I expect that
eventually the manga and anime stories will start diverging like they did in
"Urusei Yatsura" and "Ranma 1/2".

The animation looked excellent to me. They certainly must have a good
budget for TV anime. It did not look like it had a huge cel count@` but the
quality was good and some of the computer effects looked really cool. I'm
usually not a big fan of computer animation@` but it looks like it is getting
to be pretty good.

There were a few differences between the animation and the manga. First of
all@` both Inuyasha and Kagome look a little younger than in the manga.
Kikyou looks like she is the same age as in the manga@` which makes her now
look older than Kagome.

The opening song ("I want to change the world") is pretty cool.
