- Kentaro Noda was born in Mie, Japan, where he studied under Nobuko Ishiodori, Takuya Kosugi, Yasuko Tasumi (piano) and Tatsunori Ishihara (theory) all before graduating from Mie Prefectural Yokkaichi Senior High School. He also graduated with music department prize and Kyoto music association prize from the Kyoto City University of Arts (piano course of music department) in 1999.
During 1999 and 2000, He studied piano under Kasandra Keeling and Theresa Bogard,organ under Mary Ann Jones (Mr.Noda was her last pupil) and composition under Anne Marie Guzzo at the University of Wyoming in Laramie (performance certificate). After transfer, he studied piano and composition under Gary Smart, marimba under Charlotte Mabrey at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville (performance certificate), and also graduated with The 29th Annual Award in May 2002.
After homecoming, his works were selected for The 19th JSCM Award for composers (Tokyo, Oct.2002; finalist), The 2nd JFC Award for composers (Tokyo, Nov.2002; finalist), The 3rd International Jurgenson Competition for young composers (Moscow,Jun.2005,category - string quartet; II prize), The 10th Tokyo International Competition for Chamber Music Composition (Tokyo, Dec.2005; finalist), The 12th International Young Composers' Meeting (Apeldoorn, Feb.2006; I prize), The 13th International Music Competition Bucharest organized by Jeunesses Musicales Romania (Bucharest, May.2006, category - composition.B; finalist) and The 57th Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition (Vercelli, Dec.2006, category - composition; finalist).

- Since 2001,he started to attend several national&international masterclasses under Younghi Pagh-Paan, Yori-aki Matsudaira, Joji Yuasa, Toshio Hosokawa, Richard Ayres, Sam Hayden, Martijn Padding and Bogusław Julian Schaeffer. During Autumn 1999, he stopped to compose because of lacking original idea.But He founded the huge book,which named 'Introduction to Composition' written by Bogusław Schaeffer, at William R. Coe Library in University of Wyoming. After the miracle encounter, he was able to compose with new idea. In August 2006, he was able to attend The 10th Avantgarde Tirol as first Japanese invited composer.Now he will prepare solo piano recital named Bogusław Schaeffer's 60 years in the future.
He got several Japan and World première of contemporary music,including Michael Finnissy's English Country-Tunes (complete-performance,jp), Cornelius Cardew's Piano Sonata No.3 (jp), Fernando Mencherini's Sei Danze Armoniche (jp), Kenjiro Ezaki's Piano Sonata "Ethanes I" (wp), Brian Ferneyhough's Opus Contra Naturam (jp), Richard Emsley's for piano 1-12 (jp&wp), Eva-Maria Houben's klavier (jp), Volker Heyn's 203... (jp), Walter Zimmermann's Beginner's Mind (jp) and Dary Jonn Mizelle's Transforms 1-34 (complete-performance,wp).
Forthcoming Projects:World première, New transcription of Felix Mendelssohn's Wedding March by Kentaro Noda(Japan, 12/10/2007); Recording Session, including World première Recording of Toshiro Mayuzumi's 12 preludes and Fernando Mencherini's clusor (Kanagawa, Japan, 01/??/2008); New works for Ensemble Conceptual, Ensemble Concordia, Tokyoter Solisten Dreieck and The New Music Agency(??/??/200?).
